very funny stuff darren and wtf.trout does not impress.although delvin rodriguez can make good fighters look ordinary, champions find a way,and make the adjustments.unless cotto has an unknown crack problem,he wins by late stoppage.hope its a good one.

Correction: I don’t think Trout does not hit harder than Margo and his bricks.

Correction: I was not impressed at all with Trout.

I took more time to watch some of Trouts fights. particularly the rodriquez fight. I was impressed at all. Cotto has faced tougher opponents. I don’t think Trout hits harder than margo and his bricks. I don’t think trout is faster than mayweather, pacman, mosley or zab. The only way I see trout winning is if cotto ages dramatically overnight and trout fights the fight of his life. 7th or 8th round cotto ko.

jr3030

Just saw the trout vs rodriguez fight. not impressed by trout. he can box, but he has not fought anyone with cottos body punching or cotto’s jab. a good jab will stop any puncher or boxer on their tracks. I did not see any real power from trout. and he his rodriquez plenty. and the size. trout must have had boots on or cotto must have been bare-footed. Trout is 5-9 1/2, but does have a 5inch reach advantage. But…. so did judah, foreman, mayweather, Shane Mosley (4inch reach), and margarito (6″ reach advantange). Keep in mind Mosley held the Jr Middle title; while mayweather was and is the a Jr Middle champion. Trout does not possess a strong jab. In short, trout will not present anything that cotto has not seen. Like tyson has said, every one has plan until you get with a power shot. If Trout doesn’t keep his cool and execute; this will be a tko for Cotto by the 7th or 8th round. Trout’s only change is taking the fight to the score cards.

WTF?

Viva Gutamala!!! LOL

WTF?

Cotto never complains about any of his losses.. you’re confusing him with DelaCryBaby…

trayvon “The Unit” toney

Trout isn’t going to be able to pick up what Cotto is putting down. And that’s it.

He’s out of his depth and he’s going to feel it come December 1st.

Clown face

Cotto looks like he wants to break Trout like a twig.

Posted September 25, 2012 11:55 pm

SAL.O

I REALLY LIKE COTTO , I REALLY THINK HE IS ONE OF THE BEST IF NOT MAY BE THE BEST PUERTO RICAN FIGHTER OF ALL TIME ,,,BUT BENITEZ IS THE BEST …HOWEVER THOUGH , COTTO HAS TO STOP COMPLAINING ABOUT WHY HE LOST EVERY FIGHT,,HE LOST TO MARGARITO THEY BOTH TOOK IT AN DITCH IT OUT.MARGARITO WAS THE LAST MAN STANDING ,,WITH PACQUIAO HE SAID THE WEIGHT DID NOT AFFECT HIM ,,NOW HE IS COMPLAINING THAT THE WEIGHT AFFECTED HIS PERFORMANCE,,HE SHOULD STOP HIS EXCUSES,,,,,,,,,

Posted September 25, 2012 10:30 pm

Remember

You guys forgot to mention Cotto was awarded gift wins over Clottey and Mosley.

Posted September 25, 2012 7:59 pm

WTF???

Cotto lost to one fighter legitametly.. P4P #1 Mayweather.. for Paquiaos fight he was weight drained, no trainer.. and still lumped up Paquiao pretty good.. no one considers his lost to MargaCheato and his Bricks part of Cottos record anymore.. that loss was flushed down the toilet like MargaCheato… Cotto is third in $$$ Making in Boxing Only Mayweather and Paquiao have made more in one night… Not bad for little Cotto who is really just a 147lber fighting Cheaters like MargaDouchBag who comes in weighing over 170lbs. and that’s not counting his Cement Bricks…

Max

Yeah you make sense, I would tend to agree I mean, who TF is Cotto anyway? Cotto’s only beaten, Mosely way before Mosely was beaten by Mayweather, beat Judah while still in his prime, avenged his loss to a sinister looking, handwrap tampering, greencard carrying Margacheato, gave as good as he got against paquiao ( not an easy fight for ANY of the two, though he lost, gave Floyd the best fight Floyd as fought to date, beat a prime Quintana….who beat Williams, who was avoided by Floyd…..hmmm….now, who TF does this Cotto guy think he is? None other than a fighter any real fan of the sport will remember for many years to come once he leaves the sport. Margacheato? Well, swept under the carpet of bad dreams to be forever remembered as a loser from Mexico.

te tumbo

my question to you is how can you look at Cotto’s 154lb ring-resume and not conclude that he’s been little more than a gatekeeper? with the exception of the 147lb Mayweather, not a single one of Cotto’s previous 154lb opponents is still in the mix. Trout is a prospect and Cotto is his big test. i he wins, he advances and Cotto retires. if not, i doubt we’ll be hearing from Trout again any time soon.

Public enemy i tought cotto was going for the bigger fish thats why he didnt want canelo lmao

Posted September 25, 2012 3:32 pm

Box2day

Some of the comments here are unreal. Trout is an excellent boxer, however, he is fighting a top 10 top 15 fight her in Miguel. I’m not sure what the basis is when peoe say Miguel is “shot” or a “gatekeeper”? Are you serious? Come on. I take you guys as serious as I take Goldena Tate’s phantom catch last night.

MIX

All said & done Canelo has to face the winner to stamp his authotity!

Posted September 25, 2012 1:08 pm

Margacheato was the same size right…. and he would beat Trout. Cotto will outbox this guy maybe even KO him

Posted September 25, 2012 12:00 pm

The Officer

If Cotto wins, he should fight Alvarez in May. If Golden Boy Promotions does not want to risk their golden boy Canelo Alvarez, Cotto should fight the PACMAN again. Oops! Cotto should rematch with Mayweather because Cotto-Mayweather was a competitive fight; the PACMAN destroyed Cotto and will destroy Cotto again.

Posted September 25, 2012 11:21 am

The Officer

Has anybody seen Trout fight? Is this guy good? He looks very TALL compared to Cotto. If Trout uses his height and reach, he could pull out a big upset.

I love when Trout looks at me with that “I can’t wait to get a piece of your ass” in the locker room after the fight look he is giving Cotto. He loves me and I love him. I am the greatest man loving boxing quicker picker ever and will be there to comfort him in my manly ways after Cotto KO’s my boy toy.

Posted September 25, 2012 8:01 am

WTF???

Just look at what Cotto does, he takes on a current unbeaten Young Champion, obviously bigger then him.. while Canelo takes on a 140lb’er who barely got past a shot Victor Cry Baby Oritiz….

Posted September 25, 2012 7:13 am

WTF???

Cotto could’ve done the cowardly thing and fought a 140lb fighter like Canelo did or try and out weigh an opponent by over 25+lbs but that’s not what Cotto does.. Just like the Great Tito Trinidad, Cotto looks to challenge himself fighting guys his size or larger.. When will we see Canelo or Chavez step up and take on guys their actual size or Bigger like Tito Trinidad moving up to take on a prime Bernard Hopkins??? Canelo needs to call out Sergio Martinez and Chavez Chicken Jr. needs to call out Palacios or Włodarczyk.. Cruiserweights like him… Boxing Fans have had enough of these pampered Prima Donna Phonies… Thank God for Boxers like Cotto, Trinidad….

For the Love of Boxing

Cotto is really on a different league than Trout. Trout is awesome, Cotto on the other hand has it. He is humble and doesn’t get caught up in the hype. This dude has his head screwed on and knows what he has to do to win. Even though he didn’t win against Mayweather, and put in a better effort against him other than Zab (in the early round), he is by far winning this fight. Doesn’t avoid anyone, certainly not Trout (Anthony Mundine), and gives people what they want to see. Grit, heart and beautiful boxing skills.

Cotto is done!

all the bogus gushing over Cotto “greatness”(?) isn’t accurate or necessary. the best that can be said of Cotto is that he is the best PR’s currently got but in terms of all-time? he doesn’t even begin to compare with the likes of Ortiz, Gomez, or Camacho. he’s a full notch below them and second-tier in terms of active greats. Cotto’s a decent and respectable fighter but by now we all know what he is and isn’t capable of. they can pump-up this machup all they want but Cotto is playing the gatekeeper to Trout’s title ambitions. nothing more, nothing less.

Posted September 24, 2012 11:51 pm

UJelly?

Trout has made his career look relatively easy thus far but hasn’t been in with anyone near the level of Cotto.
Cotto is an awesome chaser and has traditionally fared well against stick-and-move types like Trout (i.e. the most recent example was Yuri Foreman who was actually bigger than Trout and sported an arguably better record at the time… though I do believe Trout is more talented than Foreman), so it’s a true test of how Trout deals with constant, effective pressure.
I think it’ll be a really good fight.

Trout may look huge compared to Cotto, but this is a huge step up in class for him.

Absolutely no need for Cotto to keep fighting because he has all the money he & his family will ever need; he has received massive punishment & even if he stops now, i still think he’ll end up badly punch drunk.
