Manny and Floyd blew it already. Yeah, we’ll see the fight, but both guys are older, slower and past their primes. They could have had the fight of the Century had they fought 3-4 yrs ago. What an event that would have been. Now, it’s too late!

That says it all – this is no lnger the fight it could have been. Shame 3/4 years ago it would have been awesome

Once again you have proven you know nothing about boxing….Ali did not beat 9 hall of famers….He beat seven….It’s you that is in denial…

That is definitely a lie. Every body wants to see this fight now matter how much BS we have to deal with to get it.

Whiteman…. You say Floyd is 53-0? That’s pretty good isn’t it? …. Ali was only 56-5, including his loss to the 6-0-1 neophyte, Leon Stinks …. So not necessarily the greatest by any stretch..

Floyd has now lost twice to Manny in court. The coward that he is, he’d probably consent to be castrated rather than face Pac in the ring and face the worst defeat in his sociopathic existence.

Floyd should hammer Bradley and Pacquiao — and then retire for good… Forget about Martinez or Canelo.

Floyd is not anxious to fight Alvarez.. I’m not blowing smoke by saying that, Floyd is very smart and calculating.. Money had more trouble than he anticipated with Cotto.. Canelo is much younger, bigger, stronger, faster, and fresher than Cotto.. He hits much harder, and he digs to the body like a wrecking ball … If not Canelo-Mayweather, I want to see Canelo-Cotto.

Dang, I couldn’t have said it better myself. Real boxing fans know the real. Pac is getting served up to Mayweather now and it’s not gonna be good. Just wait till Floyd gets back in boxing shape. Hopefully Pac can get passed Marquez. Floyd did not jump on Cotto in the 12th hen Cotto did the stinky leg….cuz Floyd wanted to set up the rematch. Floyd will just let knockouts happen sometimes, like the Coralles fight. Can’t really tell me nothin about Floyd. He is the REALEST. Why deny it. Sorry PACTARDS

Its happening for sure now that the lawsuit is over.Pacman wants it and Mayweather wants it thats why pacman is playing ball. 45/55 split good enough. Mayweather said drop the lawsuit and we’ll get it on.

Rich that’s quite a statement because its always about the money. Both guys want the fight but Arum doesn’t, hats always been my view. He will stage the show when Manny has run his course as Arum’s No1 cash cow. A comprehensive win against Marquez will see Pacquiaos stock rise again and Arum will once again be asking for 50 50.

Jailboy won over crybaby was a setup fight for jailboy to win to liftup his marketing boxing status over Pacquiao. In other words marketing strategy of Oskie and jailboy for their boxing business purpose. Wake up kornerwoman.

You’re so in love with jailboy. Your boyfriend annihilate no one with Alvarez or Pacquiao caliber. Jailboy can annihilates only woman. Jailboy is sissy only mouth no bites.

Floyd is superior in every department its miss match and if they fight it will be the biggest let down fight ever because it would be so one sided in Floyds favour, like when he fought Marquez, whop just by chance gives Pedman nightmares every time out.

Listening to all comments some of ye have very good points from a boxing point of view, as for the haters of either fighter SHUT UP ye aint boxing fans!! To the author, did ODLH not say after Floyd had beaten Cotto that Alvarez was not ready?? And ye all think that because Canelo has just beaten a light welter that he is now ready?? Haha! Floyd would enialate Canelo (no dis respect to the kid) but its the truth! And as for the fight.. as much of a fan as I am too much time has passed it should have happened 2-3 yrs ago, don’t get me wrong I’l still watch it but just such a pity it didn’t happen sooner! Peace

This was never about money for Pacq,he was blatantly accused of cheating by the Mayweathers, who took the opportunity of accusing him of taking substances to enhance his chances of victory, this was without a shred of evidence and used as an excuse to avoid meeting Pacq in the ring.It was an accusation that grew further by stupid people throwing themselves on the words of Bunny and taking it as the truth.Pacq took his right by law and challenged him to prove it…To date he has not made one appearance in court to substantiate his “Ars jus wanna clean up baxin”no just the opposite he has “run”..”fled” like a lot of you on here who talk a lot but can not prove anything.Even now we have people like Flash running his mouth of that Manny never took the ped test. It’s no nothing people like him who show themselves up for what they are….I hope Bunny has had to pay Pacq bundles,he’s earned it……

Alvarez is not a good matchup for Floyd. The guy’s a barrel chested middleweight. He’s very young and strong with blazing hand speed, ripping body shots, and a jab as good as Cotto’s. Cotto found Floyd’s nose with some of those crackling jabs of his—but he’s not as fresh, as big, or as powerful as Alvarez … If I was Floyd I’d go for the Bradley fight, just because Tim is smaller, shorter, and doesn’t have the power Alvarez has … and if you look at the record book Tim beat Pacquiao – so a masterful shutout gives Floyd even more leverage.

Hatton will not fight Floyd again. He has a shot at becoming a good boxer. I believe Hatton wants to work on the technical aspects of his game that Floyd Sr. was bringing out before he was mismatched with Pacquiao. You never want to have a career you never really learned before you retire..

Buffoons on here thinking that Ricky Hatton had ANY shot with Floyd really need to up their boxing IQ….. Mayweather destroyed Hatton easily on the inside and outside he was on a total other level than Hatton… Ricky was a fun boxer to watch and he was World Class but he was NOT elite he got his ass destroyed by the only two prime elite boxers he faced culminating in his retirement and descent into cocaine addiction…. Blaming refs, and trainers are usually the province of LOSERS….. Mayweather Sr was great when Hatton beat a featherfisted Paulie Malignaggi but he was terrible when Manny Pacquiao blew him out of the ring in under 6 minutes…?????? Amir Khan LOVED Freddy Roach when he was winning and the minute he got careless and poleaxed by Garcia suddenly his problem is Roach…. Next time he gets knocked out it will be the “air quality” “religious conflicts” or “space time travel”…….

Mayweather has “taken risk” fighting boxers in 5 weight classes and remaining undefeated…. Sergio Martinez is an exciting fighter and I am a fan but he has NOT accomplished anything close to what Floyd Mayweather has coming up from 130 pounds and still dominating at the age of 35 years old…..If Sergio is such a natural JMW why is he NOT calling out anyone other than the “Money Man” or Pacquiao at the weight? Why has he NOT fought there in years???? Reality is that Martinez is NOT chasing a stronger legacy by trolling for the smaller Mayweather he is chasing the type of FAT check that ONLY Floyd Mayweather can provide….. If we wanna discuss risk/reward profiles then why is Martinez not trying to bang in the talent rich SMW division? And don’t try to sell me Chavez rehydrating to 180 as proxy for how he would fare at 168…..If Martinez wants to prove he is STILL a legit 154 pound fighter then why not start campaigning there instead of riding Mayweathers jock?

Posted September 26, 2012 9:24 am

martinez at 154… thats the fight… mayweather would never go for it, way too much risk. Thats the guy he is… PS i watched the may-hatten fight again recently… i have no doubt in my mind cortez was bought off, for the first 3/4 rounds he stopped all inside fighting, it was only after mayweather started to adjust to it did he allow it…. Im not a hatten fan, but cortez took away hattons whole game for the first 3/4 rounds, it was very clear…. And the mayweather’s call pac a cheat, i would bet my life on it that the mayweather clan are the biggest cheats around, if one takes their mouth of their coks.. they would see this.

Tim Bradley is not a really plausible fight for Mayweather he is universally dismissed as having beat Pacquiao its not really gonna fly…. No one wants to see Mayweather fight a guy that Pac Man just beat coming up from Jr Lightweight after Floyd beat HOFer Miguel Cotto in what many consider his most exciting fight in years… The only names that play well are Manny Pacquiao (of course) or Canelo Alvarez at 154…. I am not in the camp of a Martinez fight because Sergio is a MW and any convo to the contrary is ridiculous the guy has fought there for YEARS and unified that division…

UJelly?

His lack of ability to make money has nothing to do with talent. He wants Pac because Pac is popular, will ensure a good payday AND Bradley believes he can win. So why wouldn’t he call for that fight?
The only reason to call Bradley boring is lack of knockout power (i.e. he’s definitely not a slow, low-volume fighter), but that doesn’t mean he lacks talent. There are quite a few other fighters I can think of that are very talented but not so powerful (e.g. Andre Ward, Mares… even Mayweather anywhere north of lightweight ).

Along with Pacmans legacy of catchweights and fixed fights there will allways be suspecion and dought on Pacmans taking of peds a dark cloud that will allways loom over him by being one of the only pro boxers refusing to take the standard ped test been said and written by many.

Pacquiao needs to put a MUZZLE on Roach this time. All he does is put unrealistic expectations on Pac and that makes Pac LOOK bad in the end. Because Roach tells everyone he’s going to knock the guy OUT and he doesn’t even score a knockdown. Pacquiao needs to do his OWN talking and just tell everyone it will be an exciting Fight like he always does. Put the silencer on Roach’s MOUTH.

This writer says, “There’s not a lot of options for Mayweather right now unless he takes the dangerous Alvarez fight.” ..WTF??? Alvarez fight??? How about Tim Bradley??? Isn’t he the champion at Floyd’s weight? Isn’t he undefeated and and untied for his entire professional career? HIs record is as unblemished as Floyd’s and he’s looking to add Floyd’s scalp to that of Pacquiao’s.. That last comment is a bit facetious on my part—but what about it??? Is the Boxing world going to ignore Tim from now on because of something Duane Ford did? … I don’t see that Floyd slowed down much in the Cotto fight—or showed signs of aging as the writer implies. Sergio Martinez is 37, and he moved around like crazy in his last fight because he was fighting a huge, iron jawed swinger.. Cotto is a boxer with a great jab, and Floyd had to do most of the leading whenever Miguel was prancing around.. It will be different when Floyd faces Bradley and Pacquiao because they will come straight at Floyd and give FM a chance to box, jab, and move.. Floyd will look pretty youthful.

Martinez is ready to fight anytime mayweather and thats a fact because he said SO but not mayweather , mayweather never even mention martinez name let alone to ask for a fight!!!

Seems like this fight is getting closer to being made, maybe but it has definitely lost some luster. Martinez is in no running for Mayweather because he cannot make 154. If he could he would had already made 154 because there are better paydays there and that is the only reason he wants Floyd
