Mikey doesn’t fight guys coming off 2 straight losses.. Rios lost his last 12 rounds in a row, and looked terribly slow and unskilled.
Brandon.., “What do you think? … Do you think I’m a punching bag?”
Gamboa might be next for Mikey, but I think he should have 3 fights at 130 before jumping to 135. Fight the best guys at 130.Posted December 3, 2013 10:06 pm
Joseph, I’d like to pose Mikey a question: You said you thought you could beat Manny Pacquiao? Why don’t you fight Brandon Rios first?Posted December 3, 2013 8:01 pm
I’ll work on those within the next few weeks.
I already have Mikey Garcia lined up for next week, and depending on who wins this weekend should determine who else will appear on the show.Posted December 3, 2013 6:55 pm
BTW, I’m great Joseph. Greetings! Good to hear from you. What are the chances of you getting Bradley himself on your show? I’d also like to see you get an opportunity to talk with Tom Loeffler of K2 Promotions, and have a discussion with him about what he thinks needs to be done to get GGG some big name fights. Soon.Posted December 3, 2013 5:43 pm
Wow, quite a lineup! I’ll be listening.
I got a question for Joel Diaz, LOL.Posted December 3, 2013 5:40 pm
Squared-Circle Real Talk (a.k.a. The Lion King of Beat Street)
Joseph Herron: Great job with the show and everything you’re doing here with ESB.
IMO, that KO by Krusher was one of the most brutal I’ve ever seen. The guy is probably the best finisher in boxing right now. A real killer. It was hilarious to hear Adonis claim that fans want to see him fight Froch, Popkins, Bute or Pascal instead of Kovalev… LOL. As if Team Stevenson has conducted extensive online surveys to find out who fans want him to fight next. That was a creative, B.S. way of side- stepping Krusher because Adonis knows in his heart that he’ll get destroyed.
Stevenson got knocked down by Bellew and the ref ruled it a slip. WTF? Even Roy Jones called it a legit knock down. Adonis also got stopped in the past by an absolute tin can with an 18% KO ratio, so his chin is very questionable. Plus Stevenson has no jab, a limited lead hook, and has holes all throughout his defense like Swiss cheese. Try fighting with his lead hand down by his knee and pulling that ineffective version of the shoulder roll vs. Krusher. He’ll get KTFO in a New York minute. What do you guys think???Posted December 3, 2013 8:28 am
Joseph, who do you have lined up for your show tomorrow night?Posted December 2, 2013 11:42 pm
eric: “Man that video was a PR event, was that guy Stevenson s lawyer ?
People change, Stevenson s probley a good dude, lets move on.
The media is the media and you cant make people happy.”
That’s right, Eric…let’s move on indeed. The only reason why I went on that rant during last night’s program is because the mainstream media doesn’t realize what the gyms and trainers do to help out young men and women who don’t have direction and discipline in their lives.
Instead of focusing on what Adonis did when he was an ignorant young man, they should be directing their attention to what boxing did to help a guy like Stevenson change his life for the better.
Boxing literally and figuratively saved his life, and it continually does this for many kids each and every year.Posted December 2, 2013 6:42 pm
3g and kovelev do have skills that are being over looked outside of the ko power but peo
Kovelev and 3g have skills but there not flamboyant and flashy like floyd so it gets overlooked.
Their soild fightersPosted December 2, 2013 6:19 pm

It the Canadian media said nice things about Stevenson, people would say the only reason Canadian people like a black man is when he s winning and represent us as a champion, you cant win and make human beings happy now matter what you do, its human nature.
Stevenson is fun and exciting fighter and made some mistakes so what, sh! T happens.Posted December 2, 2013 6:12 pm
Stevenson is 36 years old – Both Kovalev and Adonis finished off their opponents rather quickly so HBO should push to get them into the ring together mid Feb 2014 and then offer Hopkins a frigate full of cash to fight the winner.Posted December 2, 2013 2:09 pm
i dont think kovalev and ggg are just punchers tho it alot of things they do that get overlooked by some people i guess cause they be stopping everybody people just think they just punchers if u got as many amateur fights as they do you got to have some type of skills to kovalev and ggg is a lil more polished then a mattysse cause they have more amateur fights but mattysee was doing well in the garcia fight tho it not like he got dominated every round he won some rounds when garcia swell his eye that kinda changed the fight but mattysee proved he can fight 12 hard rounds and still carry his power and ggg prove that to kovalev havent yet so far that the questions do kovalev got late fight stamina kovalev havent been to adversity yet that why i will pick ward to beat him right nowPosted December 2, 2013 1:19 pm
seems like most people would have learned by now. but they havent. I remember not too long ago everyone was saying Matthysse was this killer, Garcia showed YALL how a smart BOXER with power treats a guy who DONT KNOW HOW TO BOX. Rigo/Donaire etc.Now GGG, and most recently Kovalev. In most cases a good boxer with power, boxing a guy who cant box with only power the boxer with skills and power wins. I dont care for Kovalev, or Stevenson, but from what I see and seen Adonis can ajust and is very crafty. Kovalev only knows 1 way, and that is to come forward throw punches. From what I see in both after the 3rd rd it will be a blow out for Stevenson until Stevenson knocks Kovalev out in the later rds.Posted December 2, 2013 12:36 pm
tumbo, how did you overlook the fact the terms superior boxing skills and Chavez jr cannot go in the same sentence?Posted December 2, 2013 11:48 am
The never ending saga of shenanigans in boxing have bequeathed Chavez jr with the “gift” of a win whenever he’s losing a fight, perhaps to extend his “shelf” life, much like Bradley (twice). The most ardent of boxing fans such as the floydiots, know Chavez lost his last fight and was protected by the powers that be from another embarrassing loss. That said, it is as clear as day that fighting Chavez adds no value to any fighters legacy. Any fighter who wants to build an impressive and respectable boxing resume will avoid Chavez like the plague. Any respectable fighter who fights Chavez is simply cherry picking much like Floyd has done throughout most of his career. Thankfully, Adonis is not that type of fighter. Adonis is the personification of a true champion not only having fought 4 times this year, but fighting and beating 4 top fighters’. The best part of it however is…..he beat them all while in their prime, without catch weight B.S. That’s the hallmark a true champion and a p4p champion in the making. One thing Adonis is NOT…..he is not smoke and mirrors. This is one fighter Hopkins will stay away from and rightfully so.Posted December 2, 2013 11:45 am
If not for the never ending shenanigans in boxing, chavez jr, like Bradley (twice) would have more/losses on their record. The most ignorant of boxing fans such as the floydiots, know Chavez lost, chavez got beat and chavez was protected by the powers that be in boxing from another embarrassing loss. That said, it is as clear that Adonis gains absolutely NOTHING fighting chavesito jr. Chavez has no title, two consecutive ( albeit, real losses) losses and no one cares to see him fight.Posted December 2, 2013 11:45 am
chavez jr is a drugs cheat period.Posted December 2, 2013 11:31 am
te tumbo, we’re talking about the best LHs today. Not the sons of great lighteights.Posted December 2, 2013 10:09 am
Chavez Jr can take out Stevenson because of his superior Boxing Skills and KO power..Posted December 2, 2013 9:29 am
But IF Kovalev or Stevenson can send Hopkins out with a SPANKING then that does make their Fight Bigger because But there’s a risk involved because Hopkins is the ultimate stock dropper. He refuses to let a man look GOOD against him. Taking Hopkins out in style is not as easy as it SOUNDS. he
He’s been Boxing longer than these boys have been walking and talking. He knows every trick in the book and can even add a few tricks he knows that isn’t in the book. He will find a way to avoid the knockout which drops the stock of a knockout artist SO there’s TOO much risk involved in facing him. IF either chooses to face him it should be Kovalev not Stevenson because he has the BEST chance of stopping him. Guys that look for one Big shot are not going to stop Hopkins.Posted December 2, 2013 9:27 am
You may be right about that. Someone needs to send Hopkins into retirement with a SPANKING. Dawson couldn’t DO it. Ward is itching to DO it because he’s all about GREATNESS. He’s looking for the GREATEST WIN he can GET….Stevenson calling out Froch just means he wants to call someone out who he thinks he can knockout. Thats why he didn’t call out Ward. He doesn’t want to face Top 10 P4P caliber Fighters. SISSY.Posted December 2, 2013 9:14 am
I believe the Marque well developed fighter is the way to go to get the none boxing fan interested. Then once one of them has that name under their belt or both have a name they can demand big money and a PVP ticket.Posted December 2, 2013 8:04 am
Аrtur Bеtеrbiеv will bеаt Kovаlеv! Вut Kovаlеv ko Аdonis , Wаrd-kovаlеv would bе monstеr fightPosted December 2, 2013 2:59 am
There is no reason for Stevenson to fight Hopkins or Froch… Nobody is interested… Everybody is interested in him fighting Sergei Kovalev.
That’s where the money is… The fight everyone wants to see.Posted December 2, 2013 1:11 am
stevenson is 36 and isnt getting any younger. He needs to take whatever fight that will pay him the most money no matter who it is. Which means it will be bhop or ward 1st. I beleives he wants to fight krusher put he is looking for that big payday. Hopefully if they make it worth his while he will fight krusher. However i think he will lose by brutal k.o.!Posted December 2, 2013 1:05 am
wtfPosted December 2, 2013 12:01 am
Kovalev-Stevenson won’t happen… Did Bowe fight Lewis? He didn’t have to
There is no way for the sport of Boxing in insure the best fight the best. Will Martinez fight Golovkin? NO. He’ll fight Cotto, Canelo, or anyone else. He knows damned well GGG would beat him.
Patterson avoided Liston for several years—but there was no way he could avoid Sonny forever. Larry Holmes was the best heavyweight when Ali fought Leon Spinks but only a few people were talking about the unfairness. My dad told me, “Fans get the fights they deserve because they buy tickets to any mugging promoters want to sell them.”
Remember when Leonard beat Hagler? The top middleweight contenders were Michael Nunn, Mike McCallum, and Julian Jackson. Leonard fought Donny Lalonde. I refused to watch it. It did very well without me.
I was skeptical about Donaire fighting Rigodeaux—but Donaire believed he would win … What if Nonito thought his chances were abysmal? Would he have taken the fight?
So now we have a most logical fight. Kovalev wants to fight Stevenson. Stevenson doesn’t want to fight Kovalev. This is Boxing. What do you expect to happen?Posted December 1, 2013 11:19 pm
urone2, no doubt about that, agreed…Posted December 1, 2013 11:08 pm
They need to fight Hopkins and or Ward, before the fight each other. Hopefully they both can get thought those fight to make the Stevenson vs Kovalev and event and not just a fight. The event will be better for boxing, and hopefully one of them can become a household name. The other thing is Arum needs to learn from GBP and TMT, load those PVP fight cards and mke fans excited about a PVP event. There should be no more PVP fight card featuring 2 fights coming off of losses and a weak undercard. That should be absolutely unforgivable.Posted December 1, 2013 10:58 pm
If you you let the fight build it’s self, they’ll come. If you let the hardcore fans build it, the fight will be over before it’s given the chance to ripen.Posted December 1, 2013 10:44 pm

Actually its time for everyone else to see WHO the BEST is at LHW. I already KNOW who the BEST is. I put Kovalec in MY personal P4P list long ago and I am CORRECT. Kovalev will defeat Stevenson by ASSASSINATING stoppage.Posted December 1, 2013 9:02 pm
Fan: “Hbo is trying to set this fight up way to fast , most people never even heard of these guys”
I spoke with Adonis’ trainer, Sugar Hill, today about a potential match-up between Stevenson and Kovalev…I will talk about it tonight on the show!!

Well those people need to learn more about Boxing. Kovalev and Stevenson are both World CHAMPS its time to see who the BEST is SO that Ward has a viable opponent.Posted December 1, 2013 8:57 pm

Post fight, Stevenson sounded like he much preferred anyone other than Kovalev next. Let’s hopeHBO throws Stevenson some serious dough to make the VERY high-risk Kovalev also a high-reward opponent.
