wilder if he has a serious contender would be calling out fury, chisora, browne, perez, arreola, thompson, povetkin etc but he is not. His next fight will probably be a rematch with harrison or fritha. Something is terribly wrong with wilder.

There’s everything to suggest that Wilder has much harder single punch power than Helenius. Firstly regardless of how poor opponents are fighters are either capable of finishing things within 20 seconds or they arent and almost all of Wilder’s tomato cans went down within a single session. Secondly the respective sparring partners of both Helenius and Wilder tell a good story. Helenius was never used by the Klitschkos and deemed useless by camp Haye ahead of the Harrison fight. Wilder is universally praised for how hard he punches. Helenius’ right hand was broken against Chisora anyway. He couldn’t punch with any authority in that fight and lo and behold both Fury and Vitali both had bad hand injuries sustained in their distance wins over Chisora. I think people will be badly shocked when Wilder knocks Chisora out cold. I’m telling you from very reputable sources that this guys power is freakishly scary and is REAL. He just needs the opponents to prove it.

Posted December 6, 2013 3:07 pm

TARK

Right…, Chisora is not Haye.

Posted December 6, 2013 1:20 pm

Thrashnephilim

I watched David Haye smash Wilder from pillar to post in sparring.

Posted December 5, 2013 9:43 pm

TARK

dwc…. That is NOT what happened..

Fury tweeted…, “Come on Bronze Bomber. Let’s give the world a heavyweight fight to end all…”

Wilder tweeted back immediately that he wanted to fight Fury ASAP… Fury got cold feet… He tweeted, “I fought my last fight. I’m retired with 1000% conviction.”

Peter Fury said Tyson was going on vacation… Christmas was coming… “Yada yada yada” … NO further remarks were made that they were interested in Wilder.

Wilder’s team isn’t overly worried about the splits and the money… They need a contender to fight… They’ll worry about getting rich later.

Wladimir used Wilder throughout the Wach training camp… He’s very high on Deontay as a, “fast, tough, hard working sparring partner.”

Deontay.., “Wladimir has me here for a reason. If I wasn’t able to put the work in and help him get ready for Wach, he’d send me home.”

“What’s to stop Stiverne or Chisora from back tracking??? Don’t lay this on Deontay every single time.” – TARK when has either of these guys back tracked? They’ve both already faced far better comp than Wilder has. Fury’s been facing better comp for years and had Haye, a legit top 5 contender signed. Wilder is the only one of these four whose comp is absurdly weak, so he’s not the one who is given the benefit of the doubt.

Im not denying Wilder is a huge puncher …. but there is nothing to suggest he is a bigger puncher than Vitali or HEllenius ….. remember Wilders oppoenent level …… that can ‘flatter-to-decieve’.

what african country was chisora born in. someone said it was croydon.

Posted December 5, 2013 4:57 pm

Bill Patrice Jones

Neil Pomy Wilder has exceptional punching power. It’s not clubbing power like Vitali’s and is delivered with much more intensity than Helenius’. The big Finn is ruined now because injuries have robbed him of the type of power he had around 2010 2011. Remember he got alot of credit for beating up Liakovic in nine rounds and Wilder made him convulse in a semi seizure from one single right hand. Ask Mccline, Tony Thompson Kali Meehan Hasim Rahman and a host of other former top heavyweights who have sparred Wilder and they will all tell you that he has uniquely destructive power. If he gets better technique he will easily be the hardest single one puncher in the division. He probably already is. I can’t see Chisora winning this one

Posted December 5, 2013 4:52 pm

Deontay Wilder should send a good money offer to Samuel Peter’s people to coax him out of retirement. Word is Peter is happily retired with alot of money in Vegas but will still accept a retirement padding type of fight. He’s a big name in the states and in europe good fight for Wilder

Posted December 5, 2013 4:47 pm

dwc

Tark…Golden Boy,Wilders people…were offered the fight with Fury right after Haye got hurt the first time, but they said it wasnt enough time for Wilder to get ready…which was true, didnt blame them. Then after Haye got hurt again Fury called out Wilder again…this time Wilder said okay lets do this. But when Peter Fury had talks with Golden Boy for this fight,Wilders people had unrealistic demands, unfair splits.Talks went south, seems like team Wilder wasnt that much in a hurry to get him in the ring with Fury. Then Fury frustrated said he would retire(which was just crap talk typical Fury)but in reality he took a break and will be back around march sometime. And lets face it Fury was ready to climb in the ring with Haye a proven top 3 hvwt. who many thought would beat Fury,Haye is a talented fighter. But now you think he would be scared to death, ready to retire instead of face Wilder a limited looking, very untested, proved nothing hvwt….cmon..no way!!!

Neil Pomy is leaning towards picking Chisora…so cash in then at the bookies if the fight gets made, Wilder to win!!

Posted December 5, 2013 1:21 pm

mack

If it happens, this is a great fight. Wilder may be the real thing, but we won’t know until he is tested by a real contender. Chisora would be a genuine test for Wilder. It could happen. The fight was all set once before but Wilder had legal and visa problems.

Posted December 5, 2013 8:20 am

Neil Pomy

Wilder has great power …. that cant be denied …. but he is also seriously untested. Being puppy-fed so much may work against him when he meets an opponent that wont be blasted away inside 3 or 4 rounds. Chisora loves fighting the big guys and if he can handle the clubbing power of Vitali and Hellenius … then he should be able to handle Wilders power. Haye knocked out chisora becuase of the sharpness and speed of the punches. Wilder has clubbing power like the K-brothers and Hellenius. right now I am leaning towards Chisora.

Posted December 5, 2013 7:49 am

Bill Patrice Jones

Would be a great accomplishment for Wilder if he ices Chisora before the sixth round. He might have been stopped badly before but that was against a proven vicious puncher in Haye and he left himself open to a huge shot. Don’t see why Wilder’s power wouldn’t be legitimately proven if he knocked Chisora

Posted December 5, 2013 6:03 am

MN

I don’t like Chisora for the many antics pre fights etc and i believe he is not a nice person or role model. But in saying that he is a professional fighting man and wrote a letter to another supposed fighting man who looks to be being groomed for greatness. A legit call out and no real reason for Wilder to duck it.

Good move by camp Chisora.

What do you mean nobody’s ducking??? Right after Wilder accepted his challenge Tyson Fury “retired with 1000% conviction.” Then his team said he was going on vacation instead of fighting Wilder.

What’s to stop Stiverne or Chisora from back tracking??? Don’t lay this on Deontay every single time.

Posted December 4, 2013 9:50 pm

David Haye is scared of Fury. Fury is a bum scared of Wilder. What of Haye and his place in boxing history? Fooled an island out o f their cash for doing jack. Chisora gets stretched in 3 vs Wilder but at least has the HEART ALA BRUNO to get in there and TRY.

Posted December 4, 2013 9:41 pm

Fight Aficionado

TARK I agree with that if Wilder actually faces Stiverne, Fury or Chisora in his next bout. Any other opponent and it’s just more cherry picking bums and ducking legit comp. If he doesn’t face one of these three will you have an excuse? Or will you agree he’s a cherry picker? Nobody’s ducking so it’s one of the two.

There is only one compliment I can bestow on Chisora and that is he is braver than Tyson Fury to call out Deontay Wilder.

Posted December 4, 2013 7:06 pm

TARK

This fight has already been signed in the past… The only thing that prevented it was legal technicalities… There should be no problem making the fight unless Tyson Fury wants to back up his boast that he wants to fight Wilder… That fight is so much better…two giants.

Immediately after that challenge Wilder made it known WORLDWIDE that he accepts the challenge and would fight Fury in England ASAP.

Fury and his people immediately backed down — and Tyson tweeted that he wanted to retire from Boxing – with 1000% conviction.

“Wilder did respond and put Chisora in his place, which is third in line after Stiverne and Fury. Now, if Wilder fights Rob Calloway or Hasim Rahman in his next fight we do have a problem.” – Cosign. If Vitali retires and the WBC says he fights Stiverne for the vacant title obv he’s gotta take it. That said, I vehemently disagree with Wilder getting a title shot without facing one fighter in the top 40. That would set a precedent for all prospects to cherry pick the worst comp possible. Terrible for the sport.

Wilder’s not proven yet but he’s hardly a ‘bum’. Given the Chisora was repeatedly rocked by Marco Polo or whoever that was in the last fight I’d wager that Wilder takes him out inside of three rounds should they meet. But Wilder did respond and put Chisora in his place, which is third in line after Stiverne and Fury. Now, if Wilder fights Rob Calloway or Hasim Rahman in his next fight we do have a problem.

Wilder is a big puncher, but he has not really been punched back. We are yet to see if he can take
a punch back. It he can, we also want to see how he reacts to going the distance with a live opponent. The way things are going, I don’t think we’ll get the opportunity to see too much of Wilder before he gets the WBC title. Vitali will retire soon, he’ll get the chance to beat Stivern for the green strap. (Stivern is a good fighter, but hes’s too short to be effective against Wilder). After he gets it, Haymon will make sure he never fights a real threat, so Wilder may hold the title for quite some years before he looses it. 30 and 0 and your best opponent to date is Audley Harrrison, that’s shameful Mr Wilder

You posters talking about woman beaters have NO F ing clue what really transpired between those women and the fighters. For all you guys know, the women could have been trying to cut their eyes out with a razor blade, they defended themselves, and then BOOM there MAGICALLY woman beaters for the rest of their lives. Thats B.S.

At best, Chisora will put Wilder cardio to test because of his durability (assuming Wilder punches are softer than Haye’s, which isn’t quite a strong assumption), but unfortunately won’t test Wilders wiskers being a slapper of a puncher taht he is. But it will be indeed a step up for Wilder and that shows Wilder didn;t climbed no stairs till now.
