Khan is just a tune up for Floyd before Floyd is forced to fight Man Pac. Pac takes Floyd in a SD.

I have no problem with this fight ONLY because Mayweather literally has beaten everyone else who is not signed to Top Rank…. He’s beaten Canleo, Guerrero , ortiz, Cotto… not too many other names to fight outside of Garcia and Broner and Alexander and he will beat all of them easily IMO… maybe Lara would be a decent challenge but he would beat Lara too……

Top Rank is as much to blame as Mayweather not getting the Pacman fight going.. and Arum probably rather make Pacman Bradley 2 then make a fight with Floyd so.. I’ve come to the reality that the PAcman fight may never happen

“LIKE BRANDON RIOS?”-YOU must not have gotten the memo. I was only JOKING about Rios beating Pac. I am the MAIN touter of SKILLS being the most important factor in Boxing. I KNEW that Pacquiao would SPANK Rios. I was just adding some HYPE to the NON competitive matchup. Pacquiao was #7 P4P and Rios was #0. Next time try to find a more competitive opponent. The Whole World has caught on to the TRICK dog and pony show like just as I predicted a few YEARS ago when Pacquiao was beating #0 P4P opponent after #0 P4P opponent. He used to sell 800k to 1.2 million facing #0 P4P opponents. Now only the diehard Pacquiao fans buy the Fight. That’s why this time he only sold 500k. Its called going to the well of #0 P4P NON CHAMPS TOO many times.

Matches depend on who is ready for whomever? Apparently Khan thinks he’s ready for Floyd and Floyd apparently does not mind easy opposition. Is Floyd ready for Golovkin or Martinez? They have both expressed a desire to fight Floyd at 154 lbs however Floyd and his handlers do not feel that these two would be easy fights.

Exiled Yank

This is a crap fight. I know fighters take on easier opponents after big fights sometimes, but this is crap. Especially considering FM’s huge contract with Showtime. Total mismatch. But AK brings fans, so FM is doing it for the money. I usually am okay with FM’s opponents, but this this time.

Of course more people will voice out and maybe even scream out of dissapointment with regards to Mayweather cherrypicking because HE is the one who choses his opponents. Then claiming he is the greatest of all time!. Pacquioa does not do that, he simply fights whoever ARUM choses and NEVER claims he is the best of all time. So yea Mayweather has haters but afterall isnt that what he likes?? Dumba$$

The Prince

There’s a conspiracy theory that Manny lost his fight to Bradley, because he chose to duck fighting Mayweather. If that’s true, then it’s possible that Floyd might get robbed, even if he beats Khan, especially if the fight happens in the UK. The Khan fight may seem like a easy Floyd win, but I don’t think so. A ready Khan could shock Mayweather and the world. And if not, the judges could do it themselves if Floyd doesn’t take advantage of Khan’s mistakes and knock him out. Keep in mind, Floyd dominated Canelo, but one judge ruled it a draw. She has since been removed of duty, but it can happen again.

We all know that Mayweather is on the outs with Top Rank and now Goldenboy is on the outs with Top rank. Goldenboy had been on the outs with Top Rank then Oscar fought Manny, it seemed that things were ok between the two promoters. Then Goldenboy tried to step in and help make the Mayweather/Pacquiao fight and now Goldenboy is on the outs again with Top Rank. Mayweather fighting anyone not with Top Rank is a easy fight made.

“Fight Aficiondo exactly how does Showtime profit from this is the network airing the fight in the UK gonna cut them in. Everyone outside the bubble knows that Floyd doesn’t sell unless they can sell the opponent as someone who might beat Floyd preferably a Mexican.” – REM it’s a good question I’d also like answered. Showtime’s gotta figure their PPV windfalls on bouts like Floyd-Canelo will outweigh the losses of fights like Floyd-Guerrero or Khan. It’s a question boxing beat reporters should be asking Showtime but they’re not the brightest segment of the sports media.

Floyd Mayweather has never wanted to fight Manny Pacquiao. He knew the risk when Manny began his reign of destruction destroying everyone, and crushing the same opponents Mayweather beat in much more impressive manner. The rumors from Floyd and his camp came out like bullet telling everyone that would listen that had to be on something. Floyd Sr, Floyd Jr and Uncle Roger all spoke about Floyd’s health. They were scared to death. Since then, they have been sued, ordered to give apologies, which they did, and they looked like dummies to the world. Adding to this was Floyd and Oscar’s disdain for Bob Arum/Top Rank. Floyd began using Arum as his crutch and his way out of this fight. The demands continued as well as the excuses to turn the publics view the other way. They have used every excuse known to man. Manny finally says on national tv that he will agree to everything, take the tests and give Mayweather the bigger piece of the pie. Hmm..Sounds reasonable to me. Mayweather never answers back and continues his fights with less worthy opponents. Manny loses, comes back against Rios, and dominates him. Uncle Roger wants the fight between Floyd and Manny, and he says so. This is his own camp. Floyd Sr says manny looked great. Mike Tyson on National tv says Manny looked great and is the best. Make the fight. Then Floyd comes out as he always does and wants nothing to do with Manny Pacquiao. And as rumors have it, Floyd will fight Amir Khan. A great amateur boxer that has been exposed as a very fragile fighter. He has been beaten senseless vs Peterson and Garcia both good fighters, but not elite. Floyd has now turned off his own fans. Fighters step inside a boxing ring and put themselves out there. They bare it all. Floyd Mayweather is now being exposed. His reputation and legacy is now being looked at differently. No boxing champion in history has ever avoided an opponent with such blatant fear. There’s no more excuses, no more places to hide and no more fooling the public. Floyd’s only interests remain money. He has no desire to be the best. This fight is 5 years too late if it happens, but even if it does, regardless of the outcome, Floyd Mayweather has taken a loss in the public’s eyes. He will never have the opportunity to erase it. The tattoo of dishonor to the sport will remain with him forever.

17 Years at the Top but I Never Fought a Great Fighter who was in Their Prime

I’m sorry but Khan most definitely does have a glass jaw. It’s a disgusting glass jaw as well. Nauseatingly disgusting. I’ve watched all of his fights and I’ve seen him get rocked, dropped, and hurt countless times by fighters who couldn’t pop a grape with a sledgehammer if they swung at it with all their might. I’ve seen him dropped on his ass and hurt in the amateurs and pros and KTFO twice and saved from being KTFO by the referee on another occasions. His glass jaw is almost as brittle as that steroid freak wuss Roid Jones.

It disgusts me down to core of my being to think there are members of the same species as me wandering this planet we call home who have such abysmal punch resistance. Jones has the chin of an emaciated 90 year old 108 lb old lady. A small dog could put him into a irreversible coma with a single accidental swipe of its paw. I hope they decapitate him when he suffers his inevitable massive heart attack due to the years of rampant steroid abuse and remove his disgustingly feeble mandible section and put it into an air-tight box and shoot it into out of space.

PTS this fight is guaranteed to flop here in the Statess. Floyds marketing angle is to annoy people so they want to see him lose. Kahn doesn’t have that kind of presence due to his recent performances. We’ll see what’s on the undercard but this fight will not surpass 750k in ppv buys in the States.

This is boxing, of coarse I can be wrong, anything can happen in the blink of an eye. As far as Douglas/Tyson goes 42-1 odds, were the reason for not thinking that fight was acceptable. But truthfully I knew Douglas has a shot because of his boxing ability and size advantage.

I guess Floyd and Showtimes plan is to try to make Floyd a ppv attraction on his own by creating the illusion that he can score kos. I say the fight goes the distance since Floyd has no power and Kahn gets to carry more weight. Kahn might even score the ko since Floyd has no chin either.

Posted December 6, 2013 12:22 pm

There’s a difference between deserving and non-deserving… I like Rios, a fight with him and Provodnikov would be awesome while it lasted. A PPV fight with him and Pacquiao would have been warranted if Rios won his rematch with Alvarado. That’s my opinion, anyway. But there were a few that thought Rios had a real shot at winning, so I don’t expect all to agree with me.

Lol … I said khan don’t have a best chin in the world but didn’t have a glass jaw either … Ortiz was tkfo by Maidana and couldn’t stop khan …. Again khan problem is that he likes to prove that he can take a punch by trading punches when he is hurt and that’s amateurish but he can box and has a decent punch as we’ll ask Maidana and Judah about that , you proved my point when you said malinagi thought he would ko him but he got destroyed and stop that big mouth prick!!

Khan has no problem with his chin but with his pride …he took fights like Maidana and Garcia to prove he can take a punch and when he got hit by Garcia instead of cowering or trying to shook it off he traded with Garcia to prove that he can take it just like with Maidana ,he dosent have the best chin in the world but not a glass one either , his problem is pride!

17 Years at the Top but I Never Fought a Great Fighter who was in Their Prime

Pac-Man was coming off a brutal one punch KO loss when he fought Rios. He’s been on the decline for years now and people were wondering if he’d have anything left at all after suffering such a devastating KO. Fighting a hard punching 31-1-1 relentless aggressor in your comeback fight after that is much better than the supposed best fighter in the world fighting a 28-3 glass jawed Khan who has been brutally KO’d early twice before and should been 1-3 in his last 4 fights, the lone win coming over a nobody.

Khan needed home cooking to get by a completely shot Julio Diaz. Diaz dropped and hurt him at numerous stages of the fight and the only reason he didn’t become the third fighter to KO him was because the referee allowed Khan to hold on for dear life everytime Diaz got within sniffing distance of him. Let’s not forget that the referee saved Khan’s ass from a sure KO loss against Maidana as well.

But the 1-3 nearly KO’d by a shot Diaz is a good fight because Khan has fast hands? bwaahaa. Comical. Absolutely comical. That’s why Flomos are bottom feeders and the laughing stock of the forums.

I am so sick of hearig Floydiots talk about what he should make, how easily he would beat Manny, how Manny drained a fighter or that Manny refused $40,000,000. WHy do I not hear them demand Floyd face and beat the little midget and shut Rob’e Airum?
Why do I not hear them admit their master is a hypocrite because the same thing he accused Pac of he did to Canelo and that he dragged Marquez up by 2 classesand then refused to meet the agreed weight?
Or what about the fact the fight was expected to gross about $200,00,000 which means Floyd would have made 3 times what he ever made? If Pac is so easy, why not dispose of the midget? And on PEDS, he accused Pac with no base and his dumb fans blindly believe it. But when two very reputable writers write that he failed tests with USADA and that he probably stays away to cycle off, his fans do not say a word?
Let’s face it, if he wanted to clean up the sport he would volunteer for year round testing and not just before one fight a year. And he would also ensure his fighters are tested to prove they are clean. This fight is past its best before date and besides, they will continue to rip us fans off so they can build their bank accounts. I hate them both and wish they would go away.
They are pretenders especially Pac who acts like he is a saint when he effs around, smokes, drinks, gambles and does everything illegal. At least Floyd comes clean and acts like a prikk on or off the camera, although he has been a bit nicer lately. 2 effing jerkks that won’t give the fans what they want. Talk is cheap but they do not respect us!

17 Years at the Top but I Never Fought a Great Fighter who was in Their Prime

Floyd also requested a next day rehydration clause too. Rehydration clauses are something that he’s supposedly dead against as well. Floyd was the one who insisted on a catch-weight, of course Canelo wouldn’t have wanted one. Floyd tried to spin it that Canelo was the one who wanted it but that was 2 years earlier when he said he would’ve been prepared to fight Floyd at one. The Money Team were being extremely disingenuous when they tried to spin it that way. Obviously Canelo was younger and still growing back then. Hell he’s still growing now. It’s like holding Floyd to saying he wanted so and so at 130 when he was younger.

‘Technically, Alvarez did say that he’d be willing to go down to 150 lbs. to make a Mayweather fight, but that was way back in 2011 when facing “Money” was just a pipe dream for the young fighter from Guadalajara. To hold him to those words more than two years later is a real stretch.’

‘The Money team has said Alvarez, who is naturally bigger than Mayweather, first broached the subject.

“I’ll tell you the truth of what happened,” Alvarez said in Spanish through translator Eric Gomez. “Why would I give up the weight? I’m at 154. I’m the 154-pound champion.

“I wouldn’t do that. But when the (fight) negotiations started, they wanted me to go to 147. I said that’s physically impossible. I couldn’t do it. Then they inched up to 150. I said I can’t do it, that’s impossible. Those days are over. I can’t make that weight anymore, I’ve grown.

“Then they went up to 151. And then finally, so we could make the fight, I said, ‘If anything, I’ll give up two pounds. I’ll go up to 152. I agreed to that. Then they tried to force me to be quiet and not to mention anything that they came up with the weight of 152. And that’s why … I haven’t said anything until now.

“They said we were idiots, we were stupid, that we were the ones that wanted the catchweight.”

Posted December 6, 2013 7:44 am

17 Years at the Top but I Never Fought a Great Fighter who was in Their Prime

Yes Canelo was weight drained. Why do you think Floyd insisted on a catch-weight if he didn’t think it was going to seriously work against Canelo? Don’t forget that he made himself look like the biggest hypocrite in the sport by insisting the fight be fought at a catch-weight what with how he’d spent all that time diminishing Pac-Man’s victories fought at one. Those extra two lbs meant more to him than his integrity and the respect of his fans and the wider boxing fraternity. He said he’d NEVER fight at a catch-weight. Catch-weight wins don’t don’t count because the opponent is greatly compromised and weakened by having to get down to the weight.

“I would never want to put a fighter in a position where he’s not comfortable. I want a guy when he’s at his best. If he’s at his best at 154 and he’s strong and he’s solid, then that’s the fight we’re fighting at. I walk around at 150, but at the end of the day – skills pay the bills…. Give me the guys where they are comfortable at their weight so there are no excuses.”

“De La Hoya – Pacquiao fights him at a catch-weight. Cotto – he fights him at a catchweight. When I fought De La Hoya, I said ‘give him to me at 154.’ With Cotto – ‘give him to me at 154.’ Give me the guys where they are comfortable at their weight so there are no excuses.

“I look at Miguel Cotto as an undefeated fighter because he faced Pacquiao, but Pacquiao caught him at a catch weight. He wasn’t the best Miguel Cotto. He was drained. He wasn’t hydrated”

And Leonard Ellerbe on Cotto vs Pacquiao:

“He was a dead man walking when he went into the ring,” Ellerbe said. “The casual fan doesn’t know what difference one or two pounds can make when a fighter is already down to weight. Fighters know.”

Mayweather Promotions CEO Leonard Ellerbe said it was simply the “A-side” fighter getting the upside over the “B-side” fighter. Mayweather usually fights at 147 pounds.

“We just took advantage of a situation. It’s no different from basketball, football or baseball,” he said. “You’re always going to put your opposition at a disadvantage, if you can. You break ‘em down and you go in for the kill.

Leonard Ellerbe and Floyd – “We don’t care what Canelo weighs come fight night. Skills pay the bills.”

So why the catchweight then?

I gotta disagree with everyone on this one. I think Khan vrs Mayweather is a great match up. The pac fight is not gotta happen yet so who else do you wanna see Floyd in there with. People keep going on about GGG but I dont see anything different that GGG brings to a fight that Mayweather has not encountered before. However Khan offers something new and interesting in my opinion. The fact is Mayweather has not legitimately KO’d anyone since Hatton back in 2007. And the only way anyoen has ever really got to Khan is by KOing him. Khan struggles with pressure fighters with KO power. Do we think Mayweather is gonna go at Khan like Garcia did? On the flip side everyone who approaches a Mayweather fight seems to be under the impression the way to get at Mayweather is to pressure him. This has NEVER worked. The reason people employ these tactics is that everyone is of the opinion that it is impossible to out box Mayweather. Well I think Khan might you have the tools to out box him. He may have the tools to out speed him. Listen Im not saying Khan wins, but I think he offers something new and Im far more intregued by a Khan Mayweather fight than see Mayweather fight the likes of GGG, Martinez, Peterson, Garcia, Bradley etc. etc.

POST KO LOSS!!!!, TALK ABOUT FEAR!!!!!, all these fights should have been made and now we should be talking fraud vs garcia and 3g. instead we get fraud garbage. fraud does not enter into the goat discussion please stop pretending he does. you dont have all the purposely failed fights floyd has had and encroach on the goat discussion. knock it off. and you know who i am talking to

One thing is for sure. Pac will make Floyd fight. Pac will not be drained either. But Floyd knows this and will avoid PacMan. Pac is the one guy to give Floyd a goose egg on his record and on his head!!!!

Lying Heart.., There’s nobody hating on Mayweather. He’s the GOAT. That doesn’t mean Canelo wasn’t fighting at 25% because he was so weight drained he could barely stand.. Andre Ward picked up on that right away. He said Canelo looked so weak he couldn’t believe it. Are you questioning Andre Ward’s expertise?

Canelo was busy and made Mosley fight… and won 11 of 12 rounds from Shane… But he didn’t make Floyd fight… He had no gas… He had nothing.

Mosley at least made Floyd fight … Canelo just stood there doing nothing. He didn’t have the strength do anything but collect his 13MM. If he won 3 or 4 rounds—with those judges—they might have given him the fight … I expected the scores to be bad—but EGAD

PRINCE, i agree that a thoroughly-seasoned and peaking Garcia is just the change-of-pace fight-fans would appreciate for the next Mayweather matchup, but i’m equally conscious of Khans’ qualities, but Garcia brings a legitimate degree of suspense to the bout. Khan(?). not really. nothing that an alert Mayweather won’t handle in dominating fashion.

Posted December 6, 2013 2:15 am

The Prince

I personally rather see Floyd fight Garcia, but if he fights Khan then so be it. He’s done more than enough to choose whom he wants to fight for his final four before retirement. Hope it doesn’t backfire like Pacquiao and Marquez and Khan shocks the world by outpointing Mayweather. He does have the physical advantages over Mayweather: He’s taller, has a longer reach, and is younger and more active per round.

Very interested to see what Virgil Hunters plan is for Khan in this fight.

Khan can`t just hand out free samples that allow Mayweather to time him. If it goes past 3 rounds, Mayweather will have Khan utterly worked out.

Only way I see Khan having any chance is to look for an early stoppage and take the risks that entails. That means throwing the type of punches that might do damage, not mindless flurrying and moving.

My only problem with this fight is that both of them can`t lose.

Posted December 6, 2013 1:33 am

Both Mayweather and Pacman are great fighters. Stop with all that nonsense.
This fight will probably go only one way but I’m curious to how the first few rounds will go. Khan nearly always wins the first couple of rounds before he loses steam though he doesn’t deserve the opportunity, Danny Garcia should get the opportunity. Really Mayweather can fight who he wants. He has nothing left to prove. If Pacman beats another top contender then that match up should be made.

Its Mayweathers FAULT that NAYSAYERS believe Canelo was a “Media Creation!!??” Mayweather MADE Canelo NOT AS GOOD as HIM so Maweather is a FRAUD???? Mayweather had a PART TO PLAY in Canelos LACK of SKILL LEVEL!!?? WACK LOGIC!!! Canelo WAS IN TIP TOP CONDITION!! Canelo would have OBLITERATED any other 150lber that entered the ring that night!! Mayweather DID HIM a FAVOR by INSPIRING him to GET in the BEST SHAPE OF HIS LIFE!!!! Canelo MOVED in that ring with STYLE, GRACE & POWER!, The thing is Mayweather was BETTER!!! YOU HATERS DESPISE THIS for VARIOUS REASONS!!! I KNOW some of the REASONS, but I’ll leave you dudes to your own DEMENTED LOGIC that DOES NOT GIVE PROPS when it is DUE!! I guess Pacquiao* is a TRUE LEGIT CHAMP to you HATERS since he doesnt come across “AS” arrogant as the ONE you HATERS LOVE TO HATE!! WOW! HATERS are on the PROWL tonight!! Mayweathers NOT AFRAID to LOSE, and one day you SADIST “MAY” see him “get it!” The thing is, the guy TRAINS LIKE HE DOESNT WANT TO LOSE. he TRAINS AS THOUGH POSSESSED!!! HARD WORK & DEDICATION is the guys MOTTO….and its a TRUTH he BELIEVES IN and DEPENDS ON!!! He CREDITS AMERICA for GIVING him the OPPORTUNITY to fail in his personal life, then to PROVIDE 2nd BIG OPPORTUNITIES in this GREAT NATION!! Arum had NO FAITH in the dude, so Arum gets no FAVORS from him AFTER he & Pac* WALKED AWAY from THREE different NEGOTIATIONS sessions!! WOW! a soon to be 37 year OLD welterweight is STILL DOMINATING the scene with HATERS wishing him the WORST…..KEEP IT GOING KING SKILZ, theyre MANY taking PERSERVERANCE PAGES from your BOOK!!

Holyfield could box and punch. He could defend better than Khan. He could take a good punch. He had a highly anticipated fight with Mike Tyson because Evander was a logical opponent.

Khan is as logical an opponent for Floyd as Marlene Shenk

AFTER Khan there will be THREE more FIGHTS!! HOW DOES ONE STAY SO DEDICATED even with the WEIGHT of NAYSAYERS!! THE NAYSAYERS would have Mayweather GO LOOKING for a HEAVIER opponent to FIGHT, as though thats HIS RESPONSIBILITY!!…..GO FIGURE!!! HEY NAYSAYERS!! Should he FIGHT Margarito NOW, like HOW PacROID fought him RIGHT AFTER his LOOOONG SUSPENSION for CEMENT SUPER HERO FILLED gloves????!!! HULK SMASH…..NO – its now Bruce Banner with small human FRAGILE fists – being USED for the FIRST time, or who knows how long!!! Or maybe he should fight a DEJECTED HATTON like PacROID! A Hatton that ADMITTED to being “DEPRESSED” after LOSING to KING SKILZ in front of his DRUNKEN countrymen, a group of COUNTRYMEN that portrayed a LACK OF CLASS & ARROGANCE by BOOING the NATIONAL ANTHEM!! Or Maybe KING SKILZ should fight Rios!?? The NAYSAYERS have ALL the ANSWERS!! Maybe Mayweather should pull INACTIVE CLOTTY out of Miami Beach and penetrate that TURTLE DEFENCE like Pac* did…..it’d be GREAT for the PACTARDS that dont believe Mayweather would stand a CHANCE!!! THE NAYSAYERS don’t BELIEVE Mayweather would have tried his hand against a 147lb Tommy Hearns or even a SRLeonard…..or any legit past/present welter…..how SAD!!! HATERS will be HATERS no MATTER the COST!!!

If this is true,I see Showtime taking a big lost in this one, since they have guaranteed 20 millions per fight to Mayweather. Khan has looked terribly even against mediocre opposition. He has lost two of his last three fights. The one that he did win was against Julio Diaz, who has been practically retired from boxing. Who would be stupid enough to buy spend 60 to (75 for HD), bucks to watch this piece of crap. definitely not me nor everyone I know.

17 Years at the Top but I Never Fought a Great Fighter who was in Their Prime

Don’t be so gullible Canelo was a media creation. The only decent fighter he ever beat was Trout and that was a straight up robbery. There was no way they were going to give the decision to Trout in that fight just like they would never have given the decision to Felix Strum when he fought Oscar. There was way too much money to be lost.

And let’s not try and pretend like Canelo wasn’t was weight drained for that fight either. A 23 year old who can only fight at the pace of a 60 year old? Get real. He can’t keep any kind of pace because he’s staying at a weight he’s clearly outgrown. That’s why he’s turned himself into a boxer for his last two fights, because he only has the energy to fight in spurts at that weight. Draining down to 152 only exacerbated that even more. Why the hell do you think Mayweather insisted upon the fight being fought at a catch-weight? He knew his task would be that much easier if his opponent was drained.

Hey, let Mayweather have a BREAK!! He just fought a guy that MOST boxing enthusiasts thought he would AVOID!! It reminds me of when MOST thought he wouldnt fight Mosley – RIGHT AFTER he DESTROYED Margarito!!! KING SKILZ stepped up to the plate and PROVED the NAYSAYERS REDUNDANT!!!! Khan is being prepared by Wards trainer so there is a bit of intrigue!! Only thing is, Khan usually thinks for himself inside the ring….. due to his speed! MAYBE he’ll listen to what his trainer has to say for the BIGGEST fight of his career!!! INTRIGUE!!!Khan aint Rios by a LONG SHOT, so the HATERS need to CHILL!!!! Khan would make Rios look FAR WORSE than he did against PacROID*, so once again, the HATERS & PACTARDS need to CHILL!!!! Mayweather has THREE more fights and he’s WAY PAST HIS PRIME, so he can AFFORD to take on a YOUNG OVERZEALOUS SPEED DEMON that LOVES to TRAIN and that is also OBSESSED with matching his SKILZ against KING SLILZ MAYWEATHER!!! Khan is a TALKER, but he’s also ENGROSSED like how Holyfield was with Tyson AND how Tarver was with Roy!!! Khan is a LIVE BODY willing to MIX it UP with the KING…..Lets see how the KING DISMANTLES (in his OWN WAY) this AMPED UP Muslim that will have his COUNTRYMEN BACKING HIM UP (MOST LIKELY with bets placed on OIL – no less)!! An EXCITING FIGHT INDEED……CANT WAIT!!!! This PAST PRIME 36 year old DESERVES a BREAK……JUST LIKE the PACTARDS got with their HERO, against KING MOLASSIS!!!!

Everyone outside the bubble knows that Floyd doesn’t sell unless they can sell the opponent as someone who might beat Floyd preferably a Mexican on a Mexican holiday with a stacked undercard so what sells this fight in the US. Oh well the stripes Floyd earned with me fighting Cotto and Canelo get ripped off his jacket now all I have to say is ah ha Floyd fans I guess its hard breaking old cherrypicking habits. Yes we do get it! Mayweather is cherrypicking another bum yet AGAIN! Sod the money. You clowns never shut up about how much money he earns. Mayweather has got more money than he can spend. Screw the money! Fight someone who actually stands a chance of beating you for a change instead of padding your records with all these has-beens and no hopers. The nerve this charlatan has to proclaim himself better than many of the true legends who went before him is sickening. What is going on we don”t want to see Khan get KO by Mayweather jr now.
Danny KO Khan so why is Khan trying to get a fight against Floyd jr. He Avoid Devon Alexander by not fighting him, so now Floyd let’s be real here. U just need to fight Manny then or u Scared, Khan need to prove his self first. TIM BRADLEY did that, he beat Devon and Manny so WHY not fight the top-dog Tim Bradley next who deserve a fair shot at the Floyd”s title. Floyd it would like bad period because who did Khan beat to get a Mayweather jr fight NO ONE. So Khan BUM ASS need to faces Lucas Matthysse and then Devon Alexander to get a Mayweather jr fight period. Tim Bradley or Ruslan next no one else period.

“Mayweather Vs Khan wow what Showtime gonna do make an amazing undercard to sell that crap” – Good point. They’ll have to stack the undercard. I only bought Floyd vs Canelo because Matthysse vs Garcia was on the undercard. I’m sure others also would have skipped it without that fight. There’s probably a way Showtime can measure how undercard co-features calculate into the overall PPV sales, and when the main event is weak the only way to strengthen their product is by stacking the card top to bottom.

“Floyd has not lost in the ring, but has lost at the bank via Robert Guerrero which didn’t draw flies. This will be another financial loss to Floyd.” – From what I understand it wasn’t a financial loss for Floyd because his payday was guaranteed. But Showtime lost money by overpaying him. So if they’re banking on the British fans buying a lot of PPV it won’t work since a different company distributes the PPV to the UK. So I don’t get how Khan works here, unless Floyd’s taking a substantial pay cut or Showtime wants to commit financial suicide.

The big difference is Wilder and Floyd are not being ducked by a whole division you putz. 3G, Abel Sanchez, and Tom Loeffler aren’t going to let these ducking frauds get away with their crap. They’re tightening the noose with each passing day. The time is nearing when the best at 160 will have but no choice to face 3G. Felix Strum ducked 3G for 2 whole years. It was one of the biggest and longest ducks in recent memory.

Darren Barker’s promoter says Golovkin is a beast! That’s he’s very reluctant to stick Barker in there with him.

Lou Dibella promised 3G Sergio if he got by Macklin. He soon changed his tune afterwards though. He said there was no way he’s sticking him in there with him now. Neither him nor Sergio are interested that much is abundantly clear.

Daniel Geale gave up his newly acquired WBA belt rather than face 3G. He knew he would have to give it up before he won it unless he agreed to face 3G. He opted to fight a rematch against Mundine instead because it was more lucrative and it gave him a chance to avenge his loss. The thing is he could’ve still fought Mundine after defending against 3G but he took the easy option.

Quillin says, ”Golokin is dangerous! He’s got 24 KOs. The risk has got to match the reward.”

Dmitry Pirog pulled out injured of a fight against 3G.

Anthony Mundine turned down a free shot at 3G’s belt in Australia claiming he had bigger fish to fry only to then go and fight two bums.

This is a waste of time fight and I certainly won’t be a PPV customer this time out. For that, at least, I’m grateful to Floyd. :) Khan is not close to Floyd in any category. Look for Floyd to score a KO inside 4. He hasn’t been KO’ing opponents lately but Khan’s chin will just not hold up. Mayweather has proven himself against top fighters — this has to be looked at simply as a stay-busy fight.

Khan’s jaw is made out of the the brittlest china known to man. I’ll agree that Mayweather has feasted on a diet off slow fisted tomato cans, and whilst Khan undoubtedly does have quick hands, the deficiencies in his mandible section far outweigh the positives his hand speed yields.

Paul Spadaforda was quicker, and slicker, than Mayweather and he made him look silly. Mayweather couldn’t cope with his speed and his old school in the pocket slickness combo. That just tells all you need to know about how he would’ve fared back in the halcyon days of 20s, 30s, 40s, and 50s when fighters with those skill sets were ten a penny. And they were ten times better than Spadaforda too.

Khan won’t be weight drained… That’s the only good thing I can think of. Maybe AK will look good for one round.

His speed could bother Floyd until he gets Amir’s moves and jab calibrated… Once Floyd starts tagging Khan it’s going to be brutal. Floyd is no puncher — and that’s the main reason Khan could be in for a savage beating.

Judah has a lot of speed, and he tagged Floyd up for 3 rounds before Floyd got tuned in very well… Damned if Zab didn’t floor Floyd.

I am a Mayweather fan but I sure will not pay for this junk… I’ll see it in youtube couple of days later or watch the replay. Amir Kahn has not proven to be an elite fighter.

As much as I don’t want to see this fight, I actually believe Khan will have a better showing than Canelo against Floyd, for a little while.

I hope its on Showtime and not Showtime PPV, Amir khan needs to fight aggressively, he actually does have the speed to make this fight interesting for a few rounds

Floyd has 2 KO’s in his last 10 fights… That may seem anemic, but that gives you a lot of rounds. That’s a good thing. Even Hatton went into the 10th. It was a good night’s work and Floyd took his time stopping him. He was way ahead so he didn’t need to think about stopping Ricky. He still got a good workout in.

When you get somebody out in 4 rounds—like Floyd did Ortiz—you never tap the preparation and endurance you built up over months of training. You’re not a 4-round fighter. You spar 8 to 12 rounds a session against 3 or 4 boxers—so if your night is done in 4 minutes of action, such as Kovalev-Sillakh, it almost seems like a waste to train that hard.

Reporter.., “What makes you think you can beat Dempsey?”

Gene Tunney.., “Dempsey and I have a similar number of professional fights, but I have a great deal more amateur experience. Jack is so great a puncher he knocks many opponents out early. I’m not an amazing puncher myself—so I’ve easily boxed twice as many professional rounds as Dempsey. To my view, these extra rounds of experience will pay off. They give me a strategic, tactical, and proficiency edge over Dempsey. This is a central reason I will be the new heavyweight champion on September 23rd.”

Cant wait to see it.Khan has the speed to match Mayweather and also has knockout power…

Fraud Mayweather cherry-picks another easy win and avoids Golovkin again. What a surprise. Mayweather is the biggest con artist in the history of boxing. LOL

Golovkin would beat the crap out of Mayweather at 154 and he knows it.

Amazing that Floyd keeps fighting tomato cans and avoiding Pacman, which would make him way more money and everyone wants to see it. I know the past Floyd’s uncle said they were SCARED Floyd would be killed in the ring by Pac (true story), but Pac is a shell of his old self and Floyd is still running scared!! Amazing, a few people still think is is the greatest of his era….when he avoided his biggest threat while Pac was in his prime….. SMH…… !!!

it will be a fun fight to watch. Khan is always fighting his chance, which will be good entertainment. But he will get stopped around round 8 or 9. The speed will be the excitement in this fight. Mayweather as always to smart, also for Khan.

You are correct the most deserving fighter is Bradley. Too bad he is still under Top Rank. The fight would be made quickly if he wasn’t.

Can’t be ducking Pac when they declined the fight. Then Arum has already said it is between Marquez, Bradley and Ruslan. We already know it isn’t Ruslan since Roach trains both. He only brought out Floyds name to try and sell Pacs fights. Apparently the public doesn’t care since he can’t sell more than 500 thousand PPVs.

WHAT!?!

So while Mayweather continues to duck Pacquiao, this is the type of exciting match-up he proposes. It’s not Khan’s fault. If you were asked to fight someone for millions of $$$$, would you knock it back and say you don’t deserve it. That’s right, you wouldn’t. Get on Mayweathers case before Khan because it is Mayweather choosing these easy fights.

Khan is better than Guerrero so why not. Floyd is the greatest! Greatest Cherrry picker of all time! That’s his real talent! Fight glass jaw khan and beat him by an amazing KO! It will make Floyd looks good on this one.

Hec Dog

Floyd Mayweather should be ashamed to ever step into a boxing ring again if the rumor is true that he ha signed to fight Amir Khan. Floyd is laughing his way to the bank over and over. The man is either the greediest man on earth or he’s extremely fearful to even take a chance on losing his flawed, and I mean flawed unbeaten record. His own boxing peers criticize him. Floyd is making a fool of all those that are willing to pay a dime to see this farce of a fight. Amir Khan seem to be a nice guy that has a real false sense of how good he really is. We all know his chin will always fail him. Maidana had him all but out, Peterson cracked him as well as Danny Garcia. Khan is an over hyped good amateur boxer that belongs in the amateurs. He has done nothing to deserve this fight. The ONLY reason this fight is happening is because Khan has a lot of fan that also have a false sense of how good Khan is. And I guess if your a die hard fan, you will always look at things more emotionally rather than rationally, but the truth is Floyd is showing his true colors. He’ s not interested in being the best. He’s only interested in what he always says, Money, Money, Money. He will continue to tarnish his reputation and his legacy as a boxer. Regardless of what he says, his courage and heart of a true boxing champion will always be questioned by true boxing fans. Floyd has a lot of talent, but he’snot willing to take risks. And because of this, Floyd will not stand next to great, honorable combatants like Duran, Robinson, Armstrong, Holmes, Ali, Pacquiao, Sanchez, Chavez and many other greats. These guys fought, and never avoided their toughest challengers that the fans wanted. They took chances and didn’t always win, but a champion takes the risk of losing rather then not taking a risk at all. The asterisk will always be there. Floyd Mayweather never took the risk. Even his most loyal fans have to be questioning Khan as an opponent. Other than riding others fan base for money, what’the point of this fight?

I think it,ll be a great fight myself….does khan deserve a crack at floyd? …..not at this moment, but since when did that matter, floyd fights who he wants to fight.
I,m not a real fan of khan but I do admire the fact that he comes to fight, is very rarely in a dull encounter, and at times looks the real deal.
Sure he has an iffy chin, but it stood up to maidanas best shots, ( just about , but stood up nevertheless)
Khan is still amateurish at times…insomuch as he gets tagged and immediately tries to land himself …as if there is a point at stake ,like in the unpaid ranks.
For me his main fault is that he tries to land one or two shots too many whilst he is doing his best work, he should get one or two shots off, slip outta range , make his opponent miss and counter with his own….and repeat that till the final bell.
If he were more disciplined it would help his chances of victory in any fight, the fact is he looks great until he is tagged, and then he becomes reckless….chin up swinging away.
If Virgil hunter can drum it into him to stick and move, and not hang about in punching range then I give him a shot against anyone…….bu that is a big “if” .
Khan gets way too much stick , more than he deserves in my opinion……he is always in entertaining fights, and I have no doubt he will cause floyd more problems than Alvarez and Guerrero did put together…..some people will disagree with that, and to them people I will say just wait and see…if the fight gets made , give khan the benefit of the doubt, watch the fight and see how it plays out…….I think it will be a humdinger of a fight, one that I expect floyd to win, but also one that I think khan will have a fair bit of success in, asking questions of floyd that nobody has asked for a long time…..I fully expect floyd to have the answers to those questions, as he is really that good, but expect him to have to make adjustments during the fight to get his hand raised.

17 Years at the Top but I Never Fought a Great Fighter who was in Their Prime

I’m going to run this by you again. Khan has lost 2 of his last four fights, one of them by BRUTAL KO. He should’ve lost against shot Diaz as well. Diaz dropped him and rocked him to his boots everytime his glove grazed his disgraceful glass jaw. Diaz would’ve unquestionably stopped him had the referee not allowed him to hold on for dear life everytime Diaz got within sniffing distance of him. That mean’s Khan should be 1-3 in his last 4 fights.

Floyd is a con-man. He’s never once fought a great fighter who was in their prime in over 17 years at the top. This is not a coincidence. Stop allowing yourselves to be played like this. The self-proclaimed greatest fighter of all times has never had any intentions of testing himself against the best. Wake up people.

Definitely don’t agree with the fight but it will still probably sell. Khan has a bigger fan base that Guerrero so it should still do over a mil buys. Ill probably just watch it at a friends spot since this fight is happening before my raise. But I will take Floyd by stoppage before the 8th round

17 Years at the Top but I Never Fought a Great Fighter who was in Their Prime

OMG! Somebody please tell me this isn’t true? What an absolutely god awful sham of a fight.

How can Floyd keep getting away with this rubbish? This is terrible even by his standards. Khan hasn’t just lost two of his last four fights. And he lost one of them by BRUTAL KO. He also got got beat by Juilo Diaz’s corpse in everyone bar the judges eyes as well. Khan should be 1-3 in his last 4 fights.

And what’s worse, Diaz dropped Khan on his ass and shook him down to his boots everytime oe of his gloves grazed his chin. Khan would’ve unquestionably have suffered his third KO loss had the referee not allowed him to hold on for dear life everytime Diaz got within sniffing distance of him.

Floyd is by far the biggest coward and con-man currently operating in the sport of boxing. It’s not even debatable.

Khan looked good for a while when he was in and out the ring often, this has been a long lay off though. The best Khan will definitely make for good viewing for a few rounds longer than a usual Mayweather fight.

Tomato Can

I don’t think Khan should be fighting Mayweather, but I do think he’ll pose an early problem with his speed early on. Khan was good enough to beat Mallanaggi hands down, and made Judah go for the DQ win, rather than actually try to win against him.. Khan’s only problem is, his chin is nowhere near world class. Therefore, he shouldn’t be in this fight, if it happens… At least he’s fast enough to make the fight a little interesting though.

This aint the worst fight in the world, in fact it has some intrigue no matter what people think of Khan. If Khan had been busier it would have helped him. Mayweather will have to be busier for longer than usual though and you just never know, and the under card will be attractive to help with the PPV.

Yeah Khan does not have nearly as many fans as Hatton and with his fights, they don’t really sell out. This is definitely a fight I did not want to see because Floyd should be able to stop Khan before the 8th. If this fight does indeed take place.

well danny garcia and his team said they aint ready for a floyd mayweather fight right now they said they want to wait on it so we know the pacquiao fight aint going to happen or tim bradley they both with top rank it not like mayweather going to fight lara or trout that to risky low risk so i would of accepted devon alexander then amir khan mayweather and khan is more of a money fight then anything khan going to have his uk fans come over i doubt it be big like the ricky hatton tho mayweather always mention khan as a future foe in the past but khan havent did much tho to deserve a mayweather fight

Posted December 5, 2013 12:35 pm

Von Pugsly

Decent matchup because of the styles. Khan’s biggest weakness is his chin and Mayweather’s brittle hands and defensive emphasis probably won’t threaten Khan’s chin. Khan has good size and speed to match with Mayweather. But, I’m not sure this fight makes the money that it needs to make or captures the public interest (outside of the UK). If Garcia gets another high profile win in the interim that would set up a decent enough challenge for Mayweather later in the year. I kind of hope Mayweather’s fights begin flopping financially so that he is compelled to fight Pacquiao.

Posted December 5, 2013 12:32 pm

Neil Pomy

Stylewise it is a good matchup …. Khan should be a better opponent than Garcia despite Garcia knocking out Khan last year. Khan will go for it and will have the belief he can win ….. but it has to be Floyd for me.

If you think Mayweather is going to fight 7 champions in a row you have lost you mind. When have there ever been a fighter to do that. Props to Mayweather for understanding the orgin of Boxing..you fight contenders that make money . Contenders fight champions now what these champions who want mayweather cool they fight the champion of the other belt or the top contender on the wish list. eleminate the competition Rule 1. But if MAYWEATHER IS DOING ALL the thinking then everyone plays by his rules. This sport is driven my a purpose to make money.. You don’t think Rois was there to win do u?
