“A lot of reporters do these hype stories.” – TARK, what I mean is few reporters visit fighters at their training camps and report on what happens day to day. Decades ago it was common, but nowadays the most the beat reporters do is attend the open workouts during fight week. But that’s almost useless because all the hard training’s over with.Posted December 13, 2013 5:43 pm
And I never lost a dime on Lewis… I didn’t like the selection of judges for the first Holyfield fight — and didn’t like Moret as a referee for Lewis-Klitschko.Posted December 13, 2013 5:19 pm
Kelly Smunt…, You’re NUTS… I predicted Lewis would beat Holyfield and he DID beat him easy—both times they fought… I don’t give a damn what 2 corrupt judges did in the first Lewis-Holyfield fight.
And you’re a blind idiot if you think Lewis cut Vitali with legal punches.. I don’t care what a corrupt referee does or says… I do care that the fight should have gone to the scorecards and Vitali was winning on ALL CARDS. VK won the LL fight just like LL really won both Holyfield fights.Posted December 13, 2013 5:16 pm

A hype story yes, but at least we don’t have to ensure any more hype pieces on the “rising prospect” Chauncey “back fat” welliverPosted December 13, 2013 3:48 pm
Lewis’s punches on VK were legal. TARK just hates Lennox Lewis because he kept losing money on his fights.
TARK had to go wwithout heating for 3 months after Lewis beat Holyfield.Posted December 13, 2013 3:47 pm
Wilders team asked for 2 million for the Fury fight, that is why Fury balked.
Wilders’s worth $100,000 max. Fury is the man who was going to make 5 million with Haye, then has to put up with pathetic Wilder money, no way he is giving Wilder that much out of the purse.Posted December 13, 2013 3:46 pm
Fury will be back 2014. Wilder could be anything…he hasn’t faced much yet. Will he be the Real Deal or another Michael Grant?!?Posted December 13, 2013 3:28 pm

Interesting story from inside, not a lot of reporters do these type stories. I hope Ben keeps writing for this site.Posted December 13, 2013 1:26 pm
psy…, “@TARK: Lewis beat the man you claim is the best ever.
YOU’RE FULL OF BS psy… Lewis had Lou Moret in his pocket or that fight would have gone to the scorecards… You go to the scorecards when cuts are caused by illegal blows… Vitali won that fight big time.. When has Lewis ever cut anyone like that??? When has Vitali ever suffered cuts like that??? LL hit Mavrovic with the kitchen sind for 12 rounds and no cuts.. Those cuts were caused by his right thumb and the heel and palm of his right glove.. NOT legal striking areas of his glove. He not only slashed open VK’s eye, he slashed a massive cut on his right cheek. No swelling there, just massive cuts.
And Wilder has a better record than Fury… He put an ex-Heavyweight Champ out with one punch in one round… When has Fury done that?
As soon as Wilder said, “Let’s FIGHT!!!” Fury said he was retired and would never fight again.. GTFOOH.. Fury doesn’t want to fight any big powerful heavyweight who could put his lights out … He’s a bully.Posted December 13, 2013 1:04 pm
so herman clenchko is the best hw ever. whats next take that better than the beatles.Posted December 13, 2013 10:35 am
@TARK: Lewis beat the man you claim is the best ever.
This writer’s an idiot… How can Lewis be the best heavyweight ever when Vitali was beating him on points after 6 rounds???
Vitali has never been knocked down—and has never been behind on points??? Lewis was victimized by one punch a couple times.
Vitali is easily the best heavyweight ever, since no heavyweight champ came close to his differential to punches landed versus punches taken. Other than Mayweather VK is the best ever all-around.
Peter says, ““Tyson would fight a Polar Bear for nothing,” says Peter, “we’re fighting men.” … That’s an outrageous lie for one thing.
For another thing, Tyson Fury ducked David Price… Deontay Wilder… Wladimir Klitschko… and Kubrat Pulev… He turned down title fights with Price and Klitschko — he flat pulled out of the Pulev fight… He’s last chicken-hearted gambit was to ignore Wilder’s immediate positive reply to his four flushing call out over Twitter.Posted December 13, 2013 1:45 am
commendable article, thanks for the read.Posted December 12, 2013 11:36 pm
Carl the Pratt
So,……lets demand a match between Wilder and Fury by popular vote. A good fight indeed. They are about the same size. Since Haye is out the window let us go for Wilder.Posted December 12, 2013 10:59 pm
Would be a great matPosted December 12, 2013 10:40 pm
An interesting article. But when is Tyson Fury going to fight someone-anyone? He’s been rusting in a gym for almost a year!Posted December 12, 2013 8:46 pm
Wilder will get found out when he fights Fury, easy win for Fury, Fury will just counter Wilder with his wild swings, it will be similar to Lennox Lewis v Michael Grant.Posted December 12, 2013 5:53 pm

good article, nice to see something interesting around all the BS some people write on here. those who think fury would be easy work for donkey wilder need to get their brain checked, that guy wobbles at a jab, he’s just been lucky enough that the body bags he’s faced can’t move and punch anymore. he will get found out and it will be oh so funnyPosted December 12, 2013 3:30 pm
Great article all the way around – I’m predicting Hughie’s career to be much more admirable – he’s fast as lightening. I was ringside covering the Fury v Cunningham fight for ESB on 4/20 – Soup to nuts: Fury had well practiced and knew what (exactly what) to do when he was knocked down in the second round whereas Cunningham didn’t. The ref in that fight (E. Cotton) allowed Fury to get away with a ton of rough tactics whereas a guy like Jack Reiss (see Ward v Rodriguez) would have stopped a lot of those tactics before hand from happening so IMO the combination of the two variants attributed to a Fury win. If TF does find himself in the ring with Wilder and a seasoned ref willing to enforce the rules he will have a hard time keeping his zero. Wilder is just a machine!Posted December 12, 2013 2:48 pm
J Edgar Hoover
Even J Edgar knows Mr Gav is a racist!Posted December 12, 2013 2:31 pm
I believe Wilder, as ordinary as he is, would beat Fury on power alone. Wilder needs to be tested on the jaw and Fury is a feather fisted giant with the coordination of a new born giraffe. The only thing going for Fury is that he is willing to fight back, well maybe, he did drop titles and ran from Price back in the day.Posted December 12, 2013 2:21 pm

Thanks for this really intresting article. I felt fully involved in the story and you described that camp really good.
Thanks!Posted December 12, 2013 12:14 pm
I’ve got to admit… Wilder has had 30 fights and no one really stands out. Comparing a young Iron Mike at the same level, Tyson was already a World Champ. I think Wilder is a better fighter than Fury. Fury’s main two assets are his size, which he abuses so much his fights are almost as unwatchable as a Wladimir Klitschko fight, and his mouth. He talks like Mayweather and has no merit or record to back it up. David Haye would’ve spanked him, fo’ sho’!Posted December 12, 2013 11:15 am
Seriously, who really gives a crap about Fury. #1 All Time Hype JOB.Posted December 12, 2013 11:08 am
Wilder might KO Fury if they meet, sure, but right now, Deontay Wilder’s best wins are over a useless Audrey Harrison in 90 seconds whom even David Price flattened in around the same time, and a shot, used-up Sergei Liakhovich. Wilder’s management team have seen to very weak match-making for a powerful 6’7″ Olympic medallist who’s been a pro for five years…Posted December 12, 2013 10:35 am
