I thought Paulie beat Broner, Eric. I don’t feel the judges gave him enough credit for all the body punches that he connected with. Plus his workrate was very high compared to Broner’s who just continued to plod around and act like a slow superman. But I also would have been much happier if it were scored a draw rather than giving the win to Broner.Posted December 19, 2013 10:56 pm

Boner clearly beat paulie ???? See now peej your a perfect example of why most fans are critical of our current judges than need lasik eye surgery, but joking aside, its nothing to do with eyeglasses and such as it is biased and corruption, you my friend would fit like a glove as a judge in the current state.
The fight was very close but paulie was the champ and broner didnt do enuf to steal the title, paulie won by one round or in boners defense I can only call a draw.
Paulies at the end of his carrer for the most part and boner was a “rising super star” so they gave him the fight.
You peej are a wanna be so your always going to be bias towards any fighters that are not of african decent.

Broner clearly beat Paulie. It was a close fight but the arm punches Paulie was throwing don’t do much damage. He didn’t even look like he wanted try and hurt Broner. Broner though was rocking Paulies head all over the place. I am a big fan of Paulie but he lost in a close fight.Posted December 18, 2013 5:45 pm

Hidalgo, this is what Tark said about the fight
He’s clearly distancing himself from his comments now.Posted December 18, 2013 4:44 pm
Hidalgo, Tark has said time and again that Broner is one of his boys and that Broner beat the heck out of Malignaggi, even though most people thought Paulie should have got the nod. He has quoted 100 times about Mayweather, Cotto and the q-tips and how great Canelo is because he beat the man (Trout), who gave Cotto a whupping. He then talked up Lara and then distanced himself from him when he took a shellacking from Angulo only to be back schmoozing with him, now he beat his boy, Trout.
TARK only likes prima donnas and hype jobs.Posted December 18, 2013 4:01 pm
“Tark has championed the following fighters in the last year or so and then dumped them like the proverbial hot potato after they have lost or been exposed.
Anonymous, I’ve only seen Tark discuss them based on what he knows or surmises before the fight, and then discuss them after the fight based on what he learned from the outcome of the fight.
You, SRedmond and others need to do some research, then come back with some direct quotes showing that Tark is doing what you say he is doing.Posted December 18, 2013 3:15 pm
Tark did pick Broner to beat Maidana, this is exactly what he said in one of his last posts before the fight:
“Broner-Maidana is a fantastic matchup. They both love to attack hard and throw hard. Broner wins by KO. Maidana has an arching overhand right that could give Broner some problems, because of the way Broner rolls right hands. That will make the fight interesting. This fight is good — but there’s another fight I want to see.”
But I don’t see how his analyzing the fight and making post fight comments about the ref, the fighters, the corners, etc. makes him two-faced.
Maybe someone can post the evidence rather than just throw stones at him? I mean what the hay, he and I have had words too. But I can’t recall him talking out of both sides of his mouth about fighter in the way you guys say he does.
Show me. Show us.Posted December 18, 2013 3:11 pm

You’re a flippin’ liar Boxtra$$wipe. I already posted your pre-fight Broner/Maidana comments. Whether or not you took Broner off of YOUR P4P list has nothing to do with your prediction on this fight. You favored Broner, you were very clear about it.

Sounds like a great matchup to me. But I’d like Sr. to help Broner develop his own style, not mimic that of his son. As one pundit wrote, “There’s only one Floyd Mayweather Jr.”Posted December 18, 2013 2:43 pm

Broner and floyd could not co-exist in the same gym. AB has an ego bigger than Hollywood. AB will mess up the convivial atmosphere at camp Mayweather and will be the worst thing to happen to the Mayweathers.
S Redmond is correct regarding his last post.
Tark campaigned loudly how in his own words Broner beat up Malignaggi even though 80% of posters disagreed.
The same can be said about Trout before he was exposed as a one-hit wonder.
Tark, please be consistent and stop bagging great fighters like Hagler, Hearns and Sugar Ray Robinson. Your bending in the wind and flip-flopping makes you seem more of a joke than you probably are.

Tark is a serial changer of opinion he is giving Boxtra grief for going with the FAVORITE which hardly makes him crazy but if I recall correctly Tark bet on Broner just like he was pumping up Canelo… AFTER the bout he starts changing his tune and discussing referees and all the other crap that WEAKLINGS discuss… Tark says “A Swarmer will beat Floyd” this on the heels of Maidana beating Broner and his similar “cross armed defense” yet when we point out the FAILURE of the swarming Guerrero and Hatton… Tark has NO intelligent response and trys to pass the losses off on the ref LOL!!!….I said that if you think that Maidana laid down the blueprint to beat the defensive style of a Floyd Mayweather then who would you give the edge in an actual bout between Floyd and Chino? Tark shuts RIGHT up an goes on a tangent… Floyd is NOT Broner and Maidana is a VERY TOUGH, World Class Puncher but he would stand little chance against Floyd Mayweather… Tark then discusses Lara and Pacquiao who are not intelligently classified as “swarmers” Pac Man at his best moved in and out rapidly throwing combinations he is not a guy who physically bullies his opponents he is looking to win superior speed to win exchanges and in a fight with Floyd he will be on the outside most times if he wants a shot at being effective because Floyd is more tricky on the inside (Ask Hatton and Cotto) who were getting nicely countered…. As for Lara he is a really talented slick fighter who Tark suddenly likes after he looked questionable before beating Angulo who had him down 2x he was sorta on his way to a Broner like scenario before he cracked Angulos face, he then beat Trout coming off a loss against a guy that Floyd ALREADY beat to Unify…. My point is that Tark is ALL about the BANDWAGON and should another of his guys lose he will be discussing training camps he DID NOT attend, sparring HE DID NOT SEE and anything else his decaying OLD Brain can concoct…Posted December 18, 2013 1:06 pm
I agree Broner is a brat and seems to want to run his corner. That is gonna lead to beatings like the one he tookPosted December 18, 2013 12:36 pm
I write what I see
Broner is a spoilt brat, In his last 3 fights including this one, you can hear him argue and swear at his corner men, I think Rd 8, 10 and 11. He thinks he is the boss and forgets that the corner men are watching the fight and can clearly see his mistakes. Top boxers always listen either in an easy or hard fights. The first rule in any trainer/boxer is listening. Floyd listens, watch his trainning and fights, Broner doesnt, and Mayweather working on or with him is a bloody waste of time and effort….this is the beginning of the end for the pretender, copy cat, delusional baby hippo look alikePosted December 18, 2013 12:25 pm
Broner didn’t look like his normal cut self. Normally you can see his abs and that wasn’t the case here. He showed up to camp weighing 170 something 180. He had to concentrate on losing weight instead of boxing. He brought that to himself. Trying to party like Floyd but the difference is he doesn’t drink or get messed up. So when he does go out and party, he goes home and trains. Can’t do that being drunk.Posted December 18, 2013 11:46 am

Sredmond… You’re an idiot… I had Floyd a 12-1 favorite to beat Guerrero because Guerrero gets hit with everything.. I told Hecdog that the betting odds were way off and Floyd was a tremendous bet.. Guerrero committed a 100 fouls against Berto with impunity — because Lou Moret was the referee.. I told Herron Guerrero would win that fight easy when Gouge had Berto to win.. That was after Moret was named referee.
Maybe you didn’t hear Max Kellerman yell, “SHADES OF LENNOX LEWIS” as Guerrero was holding and hitting Berto with impunity. If not, watch the fight again because you’re blind and miss everything.
If you don’t think Lara and Pacquiao are more skilled than Guerrero or Maidana you’re an idiot.. Maidana would not beat Floyd—obviously—but these 2 would make for Floyd’s toughest opponents EVER.
Yeah… A lot tougher than ther ATG Migel Cotto with his penetrating and masterful jab… Because they both would beat Cotto up badly. They’re faster and slicker boxers and stronger and better punchers.Posted December 18, 2013 1:06 am

1st thing broner needs to do is drop weight to 140. I doubt he can make 135. He has skills and talent. He just needs to fight at a weight class suited for him.Posted December 17, 2013 9:33 pm
TARK-Nope. I took Broner out of MY personal Top 10 P4P list last week and I was CORRECT. I also had Lara beating Trout while YOU had Trout with the edge over Lara. HAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHA!!!
Please learn how to assess SKILL levels. The problem that Broner had, had nothing to DO with the cross armed Defense and had everything to DO with his immobility. Maidana being crude and slow is irrelevant because Broner wouldn’t move his feet. Even a TORTOISE can hit a STATIONARY Bullseye even IF it takes a YEAR for him to get there. SPEED is no factor in that.
Floyd doesn’t and won’t have that problem because now that Floyd Sr. is back in his camp he remembers to move his feet. His doesn’t just plant his feet and try to slip all of the shots like Berto and Broner DO. Robert Guerrero agrees with ME on that….and SO will Maidana IF he gets to bring his attacking and swarming style vs. Floyd.
Broner had better take MY advice and hire Floyd Sr. OR study Floyd’s tapes a little CLOSER like Tim Bradley DID for his Fight vs. Marquez.
Move those damn FEET or you will continue to get ROCKED and SOCKED into oblivion.
Even Wlad Klitschko who is a 250lb HW took after Floyd and learned to avoid punches by moving his feet. Emmanuel Steward watched MANY Floyd Fights and implemented it with Wlad.
SO Broner IF a 250lb man can move those feet YOU CAN TOO.Posted December 17, 2013 8:54 pm

Floyd Mayweather Sr shouldgive Mr. Mike Stafford more respect. He has the audacity to try and steal broner form a man that has helped guide him through life as a friend, father and teacher. Broner has won 3 titles without Mayweather, so Stafford must be doing something right. I can’t stand leeches that try and weasel their way to other fighters knowing it’s the wrong thing to do and it speaks volumes about his character. What Broner needs is a reliable chin (can’t buy or make one of those). He needs some discipline. He needs to respect the sport,. He needs to not try and emulate his Big Brother. He needs to be around good people that will tell him the truth. He needs to change his style of fighting including how he technically throws punches. He needs a lot of work. He’s won his fights on his athleticism and speed. The Mayweathers have never been successful with any other fighter they tried to help. Look at the group of fighters they have now, they’re horrible. Can you imagine Broner’s improvement after hanging out with the Mayweathers and their drama. No, Broner can’t change much without true discipline and respect for boxing. He had me fooled. I think he is still very good, and I’m not sure he can hang with guys like Bradley, Floyd, Pacquiao, Thurman, and Porter. I hope Broner gets it now. I felt bad for the guy as he was dismantled right before our eyes. He was lost. He was looking for help. I don’t know if he’ll ever be looked at the same way. He did show courage and never gave up, but I expected so much more. Oh well, that’s boxing. You either have it or you don’t.

Freddie Roach makes champions. He has worked with the best, developed the best and would be a huge asset to Broner. Broner got knocked down sure but he got up firing back and stayed in the fight. For some reason your confusing knocked down with knocked out big difference. Tachyon- I understand you admire Floyd’s talent but come on bro. You have to admit Maidana and his TRAINER solved the problem without the slight hint of any doubt. Floyd is a complete fighter from offense to defense and the most important thing is he adapts in the ring on the fly figures his openent out then exploits openings very few can do that and unfortunately I don’t thing Broner is one that can. It was a classic fight. 1.) Maidana has shown MUCH improvement now that he is being trained by Robert Garcia. 2.) Broner was his OWN problem. Broner has good power but he tried to match it with Maidana’s which was a mistake that he paid for and 3.) Broner didn’t move his feet. He stood there and his ego wanted to match powershots with Maidana. End result: A well deserved a$$whooping.Posted December 17, 2013 7:12 pm

Most brawlers cant succed against a boxer, you gota have a ruslan the russian type attitude and heart plus be able to throw a high number of punches all 12 rounds.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Guerrero swarmed the HELL out of Berto and was QUICKLY subdued by Mayweather, PS he was also a southpaw!!!! You either have it or you don’t.Posted December 17, 2013 5:19 pm
The only reason mayweather wants to help broner is because he s african american and wznts his own people to succeed.Posted December 17, 2013 5:06 pm
I think that’s the only way he would do better he got exposed to quick in this fightPosted December 17, 2013 5:05 pm
Good Maybe Adrien will learn to keep his hands up and throw more punches. He never used the philly shell aka the shoulder roll Like Floyd does. He needs to learn about defense and how to use his speed and footwork to his advantage and throw counters Maidana was doing alot of missing and he never made him pay for it. Maybe the partying caught u with Broner because he never let his hands go. As fast as he is there is no way Marcos should have been able to catch him like he did.Posted December 17, 2013 5:01 pm
