Reggie Jackson always thought his s*** was better than it really was. I remember years ago in Laguna Beach, CA, Reggie was driving down the Pacific Coast Highway through town in an old Chevy convertible. The car broke down right in the middle of the road, messing up traffic in both directions. He thought he was king of the road in his classic car with the long-haired bikini-clad blonde sitting next to him, but he threw a nice fit that got chuckles from bystanders when his car broke down. I could hear him cussing from where I was standing. After he fumed for a while, some tourist finally went out to help him push his car off the road. Meanwhile, bikini blonde was embarrassed.Posted December 22, 2013 2:30 pm

After the RIOS thing if I was Garcia I would not have had Ariza help out in the corner. I watched the fight 4 times because it was a good one. There was no pill, no swallowing motion from Maidana when Ariza pulled the napkin. Plus Maidana had to take a drug teast after fight so where are the results from that? Broner got alot of breaks from Ref. The Ref could have done a little better as well. Broner train got derailed that’s all there is to it.Posted December 20, 2013 7:29 pm
Tark says, “Just because somebody is easy to beat up doesn’t mean you hit or kick them if you have a good excuse. To me, a coward does that. Robert Garcia would never have done that”. to me, it’s cowardly and repulsive when somebody hides behind a handicap to act like bigoted as*holes and demean individuals and entire groups of people with impunity. true professionals adjust their bloated egos according to the situation or risk having some gas released from their swollen heads. Btw, Freddie was threatening to jump into Ariza’s. a timely kick into his chest effectively dissuaded him from doing so and put him on short notice: there’s nothing special about him.Posted December 20, 2013 3:54 pm

HeavyweightJustice, here’s the thing about smelling salts:
You don’t put them in a pad and then cover the nose with them. Smelling salts are strong! Normally they are waved under the nose to snap a person out of a fainting spell or to clear someones head. If Ariza did place smelling salts or a snapper (basically a pellet impregnated with smelling salts) in the gauze and cover Maidana’s nose with it, Maidana likely would have jumped off his stool from the shock he would have got upon inhaling such a strong odor. Ammonia is not something you want to take deep breaths of.Posted December 20, 2013 10:54 am
All this conspiricacy conjecture is ill thought through. If anyone thinks a pill can have a meaningful impact within a minute is way off base.Smelling salts would be the substance to give maidana an immediate benefit of clearing his head from that blatantly illegal after the bell blow by Broner.Like many have said,Ariza just wanted some limelight.he might be OK at conditioning, but his judgement is somewhat lacking.Posted December 20, 2013 9:06 am

Maybe they don’t… But I give them respect and sympathy even when they’re wrong as Hell. Kicking somebody like that is a little absurd, even when they’re acting like a total azzhole.
You can tell them they’re wrong. Just because somebody is easy to beat up doesn’t mean you hit or kick them if you have a good excuse. To me, a coward does that. Robert Garcia would never have done that.Posted December 20, 2013 2:14 am

That is right, a pill would take 20 minutes to a half hour to take affect. At the 11th round with only 3 minutes left, lets be logical. If Maidana was going to take a pill it would have been just before he entered the ring. Or a snort perhaps. But not at the 11th with the entire world watching. Boner is a sore looser. If I were Maidana I would not allow a rematch to happen. Forget Broner, he is history.Posted December 19, 2013 9:25 pm

Massage My Big Ego
Soft Boner has a Big Ego like me, but I can at least back up my words, like Ali once said, “it aint bragging [if you can back it up],” Soft boner imitates the boxing style of Floyd, but he chose the wrong version of Floyd. One punch at a time and throwing a maximum of 20 punches per round can’t be effective if you don’t have a great defense in order to allude and limit your opponents landed punches. Soft Boner needs to go back to the VHS tapes of Floyd in his young days when he let his hands go and was quick on his feet. My boxing knowledge is impetuous, my round by round analysis is impregnable. I’m just ferocious. Would someone like to massage my Ego? It’s really big.Posted December 19, 2013 5:03 pm

“The were no pills… Jus Ariza trying to look like an important member of a winning team.” – TARK brings up an angle I hadn’t thought about. Ariza was in the midst of controversy with Rios’ positive drug test. Now he’s changed the conversation from that of a dirty client to a clean client who just won his biggest fight. Creates doubt about his culpability for Rios’ positive test, and puts him in convo of a victory instead of loss. He’s a Machiavellian MFer so I wouldn’t discount that.Posted December 19, 2013 4:13 pm

I wanna point out something else about the video that I just noticed:
At the beginning of it, Ariza has both the gauze and cotton swabs in his right hand. He is holding the gauze with his thumb and forefinger and the swabs with his other three fingers cradling them in his palm. He puts the gauze in his left hand but continues to hold the swabs. That right there partially explains why Ariza looks like he has something between his thumb and forefinger on the gauze.
If anyone doesn’t quite see what I mean, grab three or four cotton swabs yourself. Hold them in your hand like Ariza does. While holding them also hold a napkin between your thumb and forefinger as he does. Now remove the napkin with your left hand while continuing to hold the swabs. How are your forefinger and thumb positioned? Just like in the video right? –unless you intentionally spread them apart from each other.
That darn Ariza is such a troublemaker!!Posted December 19, 2013 10:32 am
“I remember the Freddie Roach-Robert Garcia controversy.”
Tark, no doubt Ariza is a controversial figure and he seems to want and like the controversy. But if the TAC determines he did cheat, seems to me Garcia will have to claim no knowledge of it and he’ll have to fire Ariza immediately if he wants to maintain any credibility himself–especially since Rios just recently came up dirty.
Of course, if the findings of TACs investigation are inconclusive, Garcia can stand support Ariza–on camera at least–and claim they did no wrong.
Tell you what though, Mike Stafford, Broner’s trainer basically echoed what you said: Whatever Ariza was doing he wasn’t doing it the right way or it didn’t need to be done.Posted December 19, 2013 10:25 am

Sheriff Joe’s chicken
blackbert- I agree with you when it comes to the referee needing to get investigated but not for the same reasons. I actually thought he gave Broner A LOT of passes.
-”Maidana was doing some extreme headbutting as well as well as a lot of holding, especially behind the head.”
This particularly, made me SMH. What r u smoking my friend? Maidena was NEVER holding. Broner was the one clinching and thats when Maidena would headbutt, to free his arms. Which i must say got a point deducted in all fairness. However when Broner punched Maidena after the bell, Broner got away without any point deduction. Then Broner throws a tantrum and whines like a baby on the floor, really? really dude? ( obvious signs of frustration from Broner) Also I would like to point out that Broner keep using that forearm to push Maidena which is evident in the postfight interview with Maidena. He had several scuffs and scratches around his neck and chest. The ref never warned Broner about and again got away with it.Posted December 18, 2013 9:22 pm
That referee needs to be investigated. I watched the fight on Box Nation and clearly there was only one clean knock down. Dozens of blows were well below the belt line and clearly in view of the referee, yet no warnings. The second knockdown was clear a trip and push, which BN showed in slow motion at the end of the round. Maidana attempted this several times. The referee even held Broner arm while pulling him roughly sideway until Maidana could get off the rope and throw a punch, giving Broner one last firm pull to ensure he couldn’t regain his balance before the punch reached him. Maidana was doing some extreme headbutting as well as well as a lot of holding, especially behind the head. the holding is what caused Adrian to lock his arms up before the major headbutt. When he headbutted Broner, instead of the referee breaking them grabbed Broner’s arm with both hands, allowin Maidana to get in a punch and a wicked elbow. And instead of telling broner to take as much time as he needed, he told him, “Ah, come on! Get up!.” Any body who loves that fight doesn’t like boxing at all.Posted December 18, 2013 9:04 pm
Ariza reminded me of Macky Shillstone… He was Roy Jones’s strength trainer for a while… After the 11th round of the Ruiz fight he pushed his way into the action. He reached through the ropes and put his hand on Roy’s abs.. What for??? To check Roy’s breathing or pulse or something… He wasn’t doing a damn thing but getting his face on camera in the winning corner of a World Heavyweight Championship Fight.Posted December 18, 2013 7:43 pm
@Hidalgo.., Ariza said he was administering dental rolls. He reached the length of his arm and handed a roll to Maidana in a piece of gauze or whatever. That’s pretty awkward. I’ve only used dental rolls for cuts in the mouth. You need to be right up on your fighter so you can see what the Hell you’re doing. What was he using the rolls for?
He had a fighter who already won the world championship from an undefeated champ… It was going into the 12th round and he wanted to hog the spotlight. It was a globally televised World Championship Main Event.
Ariza probably thought, “Wow…We’ve WON!!! Let me grab a couple of dental rolls or and get in on the action. They’re going to have the cameras on our corner and I can get worldwide exposure here. I’m a major part of another world beating team.” Ariza was getting in everyone’s way but he sure was active… The trainer should have said, “Take your dental rolls and GTFOOH.”
He’s the strength trainer. He doesn’t need to be popping dental rolls around.Posted December 18, 2013 7:31 pm

The reason to all of this, they want to put doubt on people mind that maidana’s win was not legit and bring back Broner to the limelight, if there’s really an investigation we will know the truth, is Ariza stupid enough to give Maidana the pill in full view of people around them with video cameras? there is no investigation people, its just Al Haymon damage control to make Broner still relevant.Posted December 18, 2013 11:02 am
ken i am 99% sure you are a simpleton. ‘i have editing stuff and cam stop enlarge etc’? LOL.
also LOL that we have a poster here named young L. shouldn’t that be yung L?Posted December 18, 2013 10:47 am
I have editing stuff and cam stop enlarge etc..and it sure looks like a pill to me,and if it was what he says,he uses it for cuts in the mouth,ok..makes sense so where did it go? did he eat it? watch the video on youtube, pause right after he Alex comes though the ropes, watch it in full screen then once paused just keep hitting the > key on your key board and it will move frame by frame,I am 99% sure it was a pillPosted December 18, 2013 10:30 am
big L you sound like a dummy.Posted December 18, 2013 10:29 am
As for Ariza, I don’t believe a word the man says. He beat the system for years with roids, why is he still allowed around athletes? Maybe he did nothing at all, who knows, but the guy is dirty. Panama Lewis anyone?Posted December 18, 2013 10:27 am
Broner is a pompous azz, but he wasn’t exposed, his team was. They need to drop him back to 135 where he belongs. Climbing a single division can be hard, but jumping 3 is damn near impossible. He only had one fight at 135 then rose to 147. that’s insane. His team, promoters, managers, parents, network execs… all of them should be slapped silly for doing something so stupid. He struggled with and barely beat PM – who is a soft hitting WW -, and got thoroughly trounced by Maidana – the problem isn’t the fighter, it’s the weight. Greed. It’s all about greed. They will milk him for all he’s worth and drop him like a ho with vd when his career ends. Pathetic.Posted December 18, 2013 10:25 am
Trouble always seems to follow Ariza. Can’t imagine why… maybe the Clear and the Cream????Posted December 18, 2013 10:20 am
Broner was not exposed, only thing exposed was that he needs to find his own identity and not try to act like someone else. Also since Broner wants to stand flat footed he needs to move down in weight. He is not ready for WW with that sort of style. My question is if Maidana already had a cut man in the corner, what was Ariza doing up there acting like a cut man?Posted December 18, 2013 10:00 am
the only thing maidana did wrong, was to have that sack of sh#t ariza in his corner.Posted December 18, 2013 8:27 am
When your lights get put out like that, there really isn’t much to do but eat humble pie.Posted December 18, 2013 8:08 am
Boner got exposed and now the excuses. Be a man like pacman and accept your loss. Although it is a tough pill to swollow when you get you azz wupped like that. This was a very satisfying fight for 1.3 million viewers. Except for birds of his feather cus they flock together.Posted December 18, 2013 8:02 am
Wtf was this idiot doing. Garcia & the cutman had it all covered. Ariza is making nuisance of himself and could cost Maidana the fight.Posted December 18, 2013 7:57 am
It doesnt even make sense to cheat like that. If it was a pill, theres NO way it would have taken effect in under a minute between rounds!
Anything taken orally takens about 20 minutes to start working.Posted December 18, 2013 7:03 am

@ Young.L You really look at Broner and all the BS and hype around him and you still call him P4P number 2 in the world , this shows you know nothing about boxing. By the sounds of it you are the one thats been taking pills.Posted December 18, 2013 4:01 am
Dental rolls soak up the blood well when your boxer is bleeding inside the mouth… You want him swallowing as little blood as possible so you get right at the cut with dental rolls and try to soak up all the blood. You usually also pre-treat about 10 dental rolls with non-toxic coagulants and they will usually stop the bleeding entirely.
But you generally don’t carry dental rolls in your pocket like Ariza. You make up kits of anything you might possibly need and put the kits in a doctor’s bag so a second can hand you anything you need immediately.
Generally you don’t have 3 or 4 seconds getting in each other’s way so you have to reach in with one hand and pop the dental rolls in your boxer’s mouth with a piece of gauze. Ariza couldn’t see what he was doing. That was a really disorganized corner.Posted December 18, 2013 2:04 am
Madonna was d cheater! headbutts, low blows, holding amd hitting, ect..
By the way, would anyone be stupid enough to hold a pill in front of a camera? Where is the pill, I can’t find one……………but I did see the punch after the bell……………by Broner……….Posted December 18, 2013 1:09 am
Broner is a loser and a bumPosted December 18, 2013 12:42 am
el chino.had 2 cheats cuz broner is pound 4 pound d number 2 fighter in the world!!Posted December 18, 2013 12:38 am
Neither fan or groupie
Broner got his butt kicked no doubt. But if this idiot ariza was giving Chino anything that was reviving him( remember Broner hurt Chino more than once) because Chino said after the fight during interview that Broner hurt him. So adrenaline or smelling salts will bring you back and that’s a fact. Just hope Chino doesn’t suffer because of this.Posted December 18, 2013 12:13 am
WOw, a whole article just to explain what Ariza was doing in the corner to Maidana, First of all, what the hell was he doing in the corner, Ariza is nothing but trouble and controversy. Coaches must be crazy or stupid to allow someone like that in the corner, he always looks excited,, tried to speak over the Chief ssecond, and leave s a trail of problems behind himself. Ariza may say he has credentials of some sort, but the fact is,, he should stay home, not in the corner!!! Maidana won the fight that night without Ariza’s help. Garcia did a good job,, and he had a cutman,, wow what a mistake!!Posted December 17, 2013 11:48 pm
Also, that video doesn’t show Ariza putting anything onto a “napkin.” It’s people’s imaginations that are putting things there. Nothing will come out of this “formal investigation.” Wait and see. Because nothing happened.Posted December 17, 2013 11:44 pm
“High quality sparring session?” Don’t even try to diminish Maidana’s performance.Posted December 17, 2013 11:40 pm
Broner is all BSPosted December 17, 2013 11:40 pm
Broner got beat, plain and simple. After the Paulie fight I gave Broker the benefit of the doubt for his no so great performance. I expected him to be more mobile and with better defense, but to the contrary, he got hit repeatedly. He survived due to Paulie’s lack of power.
Against Maidana he showed the same shortcomings as he did against Paulie, except this time around he got hit by a heavier puncher. I doubt he’ll do any better against other pressure fighter like Garcia, Mathyse, Thurman or Pacquiao. He’s a slow starter, doesn’t throw lots of punches and gets hit a lot…that’s a receipt for trouble against heavy talented 140 and 147 division fighters.
His comment on one of Showtime episodes, he stated that no one could beat him. That reminded about Prince Haseem Hamed used to say, “I will never be beat”.Posted December 17, 2013 10:34 pm
oh ohPosted December 17, 2013 10:30 pm
I didn’t see any cheating in the ring, all I saw was a “piller to post pasting” of a big mouth brat who got just what he had coming, and if he stays at 147, he will get more of the same!!!Posted December 17, 2013 10:24 pm
AB….All B…..itchPosted December 17, 2013 10:14 pm
Whatev. Broner fans egos took a bashing and they’ve been crying ever since. Kind of like Broner when he literally ran from the ring like an abused child being chased by an enraged step father.Posted December 17, 2013 9:48 pm
This is the fight I really can’t careless what TMZ has to report. Bronner got what was coming to him.BEAT IT….Posted December 17, 2013 9:45 pm

Broner got beat, fair and square, leave it at that, he’s not as good as they thought he was.Posted December 17, 2013 8:41 pm
alex can be a big help in the corner , especially when tough gets going, this guy has degree in physical science and nutrition where he can easily tell if the muscles are tired and tight , he knows exactly what to do. give him a break will you… good luck alex ariza ….Posted December 17, 2013 8:32 pm
Broner got beat let’s move onPosted December 17, 2013 8:27 pm
FEARS, die hard Broner fans are gonna grab whatever they can. Go figure, they are Broner fans. What superhuman feat did Maidana accomplish? He always fights like he.did… Broner.couldn’t take the shots and.pressure….so as an outcome now Maidana is labeled a cheater. He’s a trashy, classless A-hole and apparently some of his fans are too. Make the whole thing look even worse for Broner, pathetic.Posted December 17, 2013 8:23 pm
Never mind my last statement, I just saw the video.Posted December 17, 2013 8:00 pm
Where and when was that video taken? If they were cheating I would expect them to be slicker than that.Posted December 17, 2013 7:57 pm
