Marquez is not very smart. For an accountant, he can’t add very good.

Posted December 26, 2013 5:13 pm

TARK

You could actually argue that Marquez won all 4 fights…

Those fights were all so close… But with Marquez 40-years-old Pacquiao is anxious to fight him again… JMM knows he’s old and slow … JMM is taking the ball and going home now—leaving MP basically the loser in their series—even though technically Pac won the series 2-1-1 people see JMM as the winner because the only decisive victory left Pacman out cold … face first on the canvas.

Tim Bradley.., “If that’s me, I retire on that high note… Why push it?”

Pac would use speed, defense, and movement on JMM this time and box JMM silly—not even try to knock him out…taking a page from Floyd and Bradley … Marquez is smart enough to know this.

DEMONYO you are right. Marquez was getting his ass handed to him and was a bloody pulp before he landed that steroid sandwich punch… Noway does he own Pacman, he’s just had the best success 1 win out of 4 fights is not owning its more like you got lucky. Be a man Marquez and give him his just do rematch as he has given you…

JMM has just got MPs number, he’s like Ken Norton was to Ali but including a massive KO. He deserves more than a 50-50 split for another fight, but he also does not need to prove anything now.

Bradley exposed Marquez. JMM is effective only against reckless punchers. Opportunistic fighter beats guys who have already beaten themselves by being careless. That explains come from behind stoppages.

Perdum- you are one funny man. Marquez get KO? Not even the “great”* Mayweather was able to do that. IN 3 fights Paquioa couldnt KO Marquez. IF THERE WAS a 5th fight, Pacquioa will not take any chances he would TRY and box Marquez, which he (Pacquioa) would lose. Marquez knows Pacquioa’s style all to well.

JMM avoided Vada and still lost to Bradley. If he fights Pac again with Vada he will look like the guy who fought FMJ. And an early ko victim. JMM is a cheater….

Posted December 24, 2013 3:13 pm

Perdun

A 5th fight would be interesting. Either guy could get knocked, more likely JMM. I’d rather see Pac fight Floyd, but they might be in their 50s before that happens.

te tumbo

the fighter who was DROPPED and planted FACE-First into the ring canvas doesn’t get to dictate terms for the next bout. unlike Marquez, it’s obvious that Pacquiao* doesn’t rEEEEally want this bout to happen or risk a replay of their fourth bout. otherwise, honor and pride alone would compel him to seek redemption in another bout. just like Marquez relentlessly did for Eight (8) F’n Years while Manny* consistently tried to avoid him. consequently, the rivalry is OVER. Marquez is Greater. Viva Marquez!

Floyd is the greatest fighter of his generation. Too bad it took Ariza leaving the corner of Pac for Pac to take random testing. Unfortunately the random testing came against a current fighter Ariza is training. I think Pac knew this and decided to do the drug testing. Pac had inside info because of course he was in his corner

Posted December 24, 2013 10:03 am

Some random guy

JMM knows he’ll be tested this time and he knows he won’t be able to use Heredia’s PEDs

Posted December 24, 2013 2:29 am

The KO was due to Pac recklessness and not to Marquez abilities. A come from behind KO does not settle the argument. PED does not make you lucky but gives insane power to wipe out a reckless fighter

Popkins-so what does it mean when a guy has been in there with more current champs, more x champs, had more title fights, more fights with guys in the top 10 pnd 4 pnd list? Floyd that means…manny will lose 2014.

Posted December 23, 2013 8:29 pm

The Prince

The difference between Manny and Floyd are simple: In Floyd, you see a boxer who took charge of his career and got huge rewards for his efforts. In Manny, you see a fighter who blindly trusted his promoter instead of inquiring about aspects of his career. And as a result, his promoter used him, ripped him off, and now Manny’s one loss away from getting dumped and forgotten. Meanwhile, Floyd is on top of the world as the reigning P4P number 1, the PPV King, and the boxer you MUST fight to earn a serious payday.

Posted December 23, 2013 8:16 pm

Popkins

Yep even the worst names on Manny’s record in recent years …marg, Clottey, rios and Diaz, hav all held world titles, so yeh that means they’re world class! … Incidentally, u mock Marg, but I seem to remember Floyd being reluctant to fight him. And I cud c why. Marg was a lanky, tough, aggressive, high volume puncher – a style that cud hav outhustled Floyd. … Yet up stepped the former FLY-WEIGHT Pacman to giv Antonio a career ending beating.

Posted December 23, 2013 7:55 pm

Ray Ray

Margarito world class? Wow…..that cheat had about 10 losses…..u left out Rios/Diaz/Clottey? All world class.

Posted December 23, 2013 7:34 pm

Popkins

Even after a couple of losses Pacman is still a pay per view fighter, loved by fans around the world. His achievements speak for themselves – an 8 division champ who won his first world title at FLY-WEIGHT (!) yet still managed to destroy far bigger world class fighters such as Cotto, Hatton and Margarito, and become “the man that Mayweather refused to fight” (even though Mayweather was a fully blown Welterweight, with height and reach advantages over Manny). …. Pacman’s place in history is set in stone…many of his fights are classics against a string of hall of fame fighters. Pacman was the fighter of the decade. ………………… we are yet to see how Floyd’s place in the history books will look. At the moment he’s at the top of the mountain. A couple of losses at the end of his career and his reputation could take a massive dent. Only time will tell, every fights matters with Floyd’s career at the moment.

Manny Pacquiao is the greatest fighter of our generation. I think even Floyd fans can agree with that. As time passes by, Floyd Mayweather will become more transparent and less important in boxing. A great read that is eye opening and begins to unmask Floyd is the article, “The Ped Mess” written by historic and well respected boxing writer, Thomas Hauser. Please read, and see where it takes you. Floyd may not his self proclaimed drug testing pioneer. As a matter of fact, he may be the complete opposite. Another layer comes off of Floyd as we look into Floyd’s PPV numbers. Floyd cannot draw flies alone, but selects his opponents depending on their fans base and their threat of beating him. Today there was talk of Floyd inviting Canelo Alvarez to be on his under card. Hmmm……..I wonder what his motivation is? Thirdly, Floyd said in the beginning that he was concerned about his health. He accused Manny of using, he then was sued by Manny, ended giving him an apology and paid him a certain amount of money. He has not mentioned his health ever since. Listen gentlemen, I can go on and on. Arum, Money, size of the ring, gloves and a million other excuses. What’s most embarrassing i Floyd’s peers such as Roy Jones, Julio Cesar Chavez, Mike Tyson, Larry Holmes, Marvin Hagler and others that look at Floyd a being afraid to fight Manny Pacquiao. Floyd may have all the money and fame he needs for his ego, but what he does not have is the true respect of past and present great fighters and the fans. Manny on the other hand has had them throughout his career. Manny is the best.

GMAN- Pacquioa gave Marquez nothing. Pacquioa NEVER wanted rematches with Marquez. Marquez CHASED him around when Pacquioa moved up in weight Marquez was there in his face in the new weight. Called him out and Pacquioa would go off to fight someone else. It was like that for YEARS. There were NEVER immediate rematches. Again it TOOK YEARS for Pacquioa to rematch Marquez and only after he had no choice but to face Marquez because Pacquioa’s Daddy Arum basicly made the fight and FORCED Pacquioa to fight Marquez….the money was good for Arum. But you never heard of Pacquioa agreeing to immediate rematches. Thats why Marquez holds the cards now and he says FK Pacquioa. Make his a$$ wait too

All of the greats eventually became old and lost. The Ali that lost to Holmes and Spinks was a far cry from the model that ko’d Foreman and stopped Frazier. The Tyson that got embarrassed by Lewis and Ko’d by Williams was a shadow of the Iron Mike that crushed Berbick and Biggs, …. and similarly with Pacquiao….The Pacman that ripped through Barrera and Cotto is not the version that stepped in the ring with Rios, and it won’t be the one that fights in 2014 either. Manny had a good run as a ferocious, force of nature, that ALL fans loved to watch. Floyd has had a great run at the top too. But even at his best nobody looks forward to his fights the way fans looked forward to watching Ali, Tyson and Pacquiao in their primes. If Floyd loses his speed, he’ll lose his “0”, and in doing so, he’ll lose the primary factor that keeps fans “interested” in his fights.

Anonymous- the only one scared is YOU. Why do you like running off your mouth and then hide behind “anonymous”? Marquez owes Manny nothing. He is tired of his BS. Simply as that. He already nearly killed him in the ring, I think Pacquioa’s plan is to RUN in the 5th encounter and bribe the judges AGAIN. I dare Pacquioa to TRY and KO Marquez…see what happens. Counter-puncher vs brawler…yea easy to see what happens. So STFU and try using a handle before calling out anyone.

Mayweather says, “MarPeds, hurry up, man! I am so scared and I have no time to waste because the PacMan will come after us, man. I knew that you got lucky the last time, and if you fight the PacMan again, he will send you to Mexico, so you and I won’t be able to watch each other’s back in the caves. Oh, I taught you boxing lessons, but PAC will teach KO lessons to you and me, so hurry up!”

Marquez was on Steroids in their last fight, but Marquez got busted so badly and was on the verge to the cliff in any seconds before the lucky punch with all the Steroids ingredients. Marquez knew that for the 5th fight Pacquiao will demand blood testing for PEDs as Bradely did, and Marquez won’t be able to use Steroids again so Marquez will just turn into the ring for a brutal beating if he fights Pacquiao again. In another words, Marquez knew that Marquez’s face will be facing down this time.

Now, Marquez and Mayweather have the same FEAR of Manny Pacquiao. Both are on the same sailing boat now.

old coot; yes, self-fulfilling… In any case you have the right to your opinions, no matter how twisted them may be. Pac has a lot of ground to makeup, he lost the leverage he once had. His leg cramps slowed his performances on several occasions, add the knock out loss to that, and it’s safe to say, he dug himself a bit of a hole. Despite what some fans say, all is not well in pacland, and it’s looking like he needs Mayweather much more than Mayweather needs him… I wish him luck though, he’s deserving of the best that boxing has to offer…

Manny Pacquiao is what all boxers should aspire to be like inside and outside the ring. This man exemplifies true character. He never brags, boasts, disrespects, hates or wishes any bad on anyone. Manny is a man of God that does all he can to bring peoples spirits in life up. Boxing is only a means for him to reach those that would not ordinarily be reached. People from all walks of life respect Manny Pacquiao. His reputation has been built on his character and not his ego. As a fighter, he gives people their money’s worth. He fights the best of the best and runs from no one. Manny has experienced wins and losses. He reacts honorably and respectfully regardless. He gives credit and asks for nothing. During Manny’s best days, the world was in awe of the blinding speed of hand and foot. The gracefulness he magnied inside the squared circle was like watching Michael Angelo paint the Sistine Chapel. The brutal power in his fists left his opposition destroyed, dissected and dismantled. None would ever be the same. Manny Pacquiao is a natural born fighter that literally taught himself. Freddie has been helpful, and a true friend and father figure to Manny. I can only imagine if Manny Pacquiao had received and benefited from amateur boxing experience and a family that specifically raised, trained and nurtured him for boxing. Manny came from poverty, pain and hopelessness, yet today he is regarded as arguably the greatest prize fighter of all time. Manny has beaten everyone except the one fighter that has purposely avoided fighting him. Yes, Floyd Mayweather has never called out Manny Pacquiao. He has used a variety of excuses (99.9% which are lame excuses). Floyd Mayweather will always be looked upon as a fighter that did not fight the best fighters during his time. He avoided many while they were in their prime. He fought fighters that were old, small or one dimensional. Manny fought them all. In the end, Manny will always be looked upon as the greater fighter by far.

Floyd is 45 and 0. The Castillo fight proved to be a close fight that Floyd won. Then he did an immediate rematch to show who was superior. Floyd won once again. He gave an immediate rematch, something Pac has yet to do. Pac likes to give rematches after the fighter is much older and more shop worn. But yet still didn’t work because he got KOd by a great punch.

Old Coot you can keep with that all you want. Fact is the article you keep referring to says it is a rumor. Do you read fictional books and claim they are fact? Until proof then this has not happened. Just hear say. Just like when one of Pacs team members wanted to know what would happen with Pac if he came up dirty. Why would they ask that? Pac must be a cheat. Arizas new fighter is now coming up dirty for something after taking random testing, 1 fight after leaving Pac. Pac must of knew something was up and demanded that of a fighter Ariza worked with.

Yeah not sure about the PPV split. I would figure that just goes with the purse split but I don’t know that aspect of it and he shouldn’t be asking for all of it. But he definitely deserves most of it.

Who cares if Pac was fighter of the decade. That is voted on by writers. Floyd has won 5 ESPYs that is voted on by the fans.

PEEJ – Pacquioao fans act like Top Rank and Manny have agreed to EVERYTHING and it’s just Floyd who’s making it hard, Floyd deserves the lions share, Arum doesn’t think so…the ONLY thing I feel Floyd is being absolutely ridiculous about (if true) is wanting 100% of the PPV money, which is STUPID….like the purse split, Manny deserves 25-30% of the PPV sales.

Urone 2 my friend, I respect your post. And I think there’s probably a lot of validity in it. We will never know exactly what has been specifically discussed, agreed upon or disagreed on, but both sides need to put their egos or anger aside and make the fight happen. This fight is 5 years too late, but the boxing public still wants to see it. This may end up as one of the biggest Mega Fights that never happened. What a shame this would be.

Posted December 23, 2013 2:18 pm

Pac isn’t getting any fight with Floyd as long as he is still with the crook Arum. So you might as well as give it up saying fight him and prove whatever you don’t think he has already proved. Pac needs to prove he can make decisions on his own, get rid of Arum and man up and fight Floyd. That is what really needs to happen.

Posted December 23, 2013 2:14 pm

PEEJ

Yes he was clearly dominant but yet he got knocked down and then knocked out in 6 rounds. Hard to say he was dominating when it only went 6 rounds and he was knocked down and knocked out. Not to mention he has ever dominated Pac.

Hecdog, I must say my friend I must agree with you in that Hagker,Hearns,Leonard,Duran and several others would never come out with insulting foolishness like that. Especially the stupidity of telling a fighter he has to dump his.promoter in order to make a bout possible with him , that being Junior. Still you have people who defend and rationalize even this. That’s what I call total idolization of a sports figure. The thing is most of Juniors fanbase are from the same culture he came up.in so they udentify with him and to a certain extent live through him. Nothing new. Elvis Presley has a simikar fanbase eho in their eyes the man was a a walking saint. Of course we know better. Still

I have to disagree with you do you know that Mayweather has not be able to get a fight with a Top Rank fight since leaving. That not because Mayweather hasn’t wanted to fight any top rank fighters. Arum has started this war and now is at the short end of it, Pacquiao has lost a lot of his drawing power and now needs to accept being on the B-side to some of these guys. Arum has put himself in a corner on his fighter fighting the top guys in boxing, and now Pacquiao will suffer from it. Mayweathter has made attempts to make the fight with Pacquiao. People would say i blindly defend him, I’ll take this one situation if you can’t understand where I’m coming from on this one we will just stand on opposite sides of the issue. During the first negotiations Mayweather caved he said to give Pacquiao whatever he want just do the random blood testing up to the date of the fight. In my opinion if I give into all of your demands during a negotiation and I ask for one thing and you can’t agree to that we have no deal. Because I have given you 10 items and you wont give me one, without farther negotiations were are at an empass. The reason to give all of the other demands is to make it easy to accept the one demand that I ask for. If that’s not enough to prove who tried to make the fight happen and who pulled out I don’t know what is. It was said that Mayweather had said 30 days, then 14 days and so on, but Mayweathers camp has always said up to the day of. The one other thing, even though I said one thing, is Arum record of protecting his cash cows in the pass. De La Hoya and Mayweather both got their names sullied by Arum and his protection.

Gentlemen, let me clarify things between PedMan Marquez and Manny Pacquiao. The first fight was a robbery, plain and simple. I watched it a few times, and there is no way possible he deserved a draw. Manny won it. The second fight once again, Manny won hands down. The third fight Manny clearly won by boxing scoring criteria. The 4th fight had Manny winning and on his way to a KO, but Manny stepped on Ped Man’s foot, which he purposely put out there, Manny tripped and fell off balance, and the Ped power Marquez had been working on with Hereida worked. Marquez was literally looking for a way out as his face was a massacre before the Ped Punch landed. Marquez was a cheating, lucky, fortunate man that night. Why do you think he wants no part of a 5th fight. He would make more money than ever before, but as he says, he would rather keep that good feeling. It’s the same feeling you get if you hit the lottery. Chances of winning are better than getting struck by lightning twice. Marquez new he hit the lottery, and knows he could never in a million years get that same result. Manny Pacquiao will always be looked upon as the much greater fighter, and one that doesn’t hire well known Ped Suppliers to the USA Olympic Team in desperation as Ped man Marquez did. Manny is the best.

Pacquiao does not need to fight Marquez again. Pacquiao has beaten Marquez twice. Bradley has shown Marquez to be weak. The only reason Marquez was ever a threat to Pacquiao is because of “Styles Make Fights”.
Marquez’s body looked weak in the Bradley fight, but all bulked up for the Pacquiao fight. What gives there?.

Curtley, I am welling to wager in what’s most strongly remembered a couple of terrific razor thin wins or a body count KO….That KO of an elite fighter exceeds Roy Jones and sits on par with Duran being put on his face by Hearns… In boxing you’re as good as you last fight and last go around Marquez sent Manny to kingdom come..

Trouble is SREDMOND I agree that for the next decade at least those who remember the fights will remember the KO but as time passes all that will be remembered is that Manny won 2 and JMM 1 of the series so JMM feeling he doesn’t need to even the score may be a mistake in terms of history.

Posted December 23, 2013 12:28 pm

SREDMOND

Pacquiao NEVER “clearly dominated Marquez” in his life had that occured we would not be discussing a 5th fight 10 years after the first one…The ONLY reason that JMM should even entertain this bout is a MASSIVE payday, beyond that he has little to gain… If he defeats Manny again thats cool but the odds of it exceeding his last victory in magnitude and drama are LOW….

Posted December 23, 2013 12:14 pm

SREDMOND

Boxing Barlow, a 40 year old Marquez did us ALL the favor of providing the ONLY win of the series that was not open to discussion nor left in the hands of the judges… Manny will always have 2 wins over him but lets look at them, a controversial M/D, and a close S/D the other 2 bouts were a draw and a CRUSHING LIGHTS OUT KO… Marquez is respecting his legacy and hardwork and walking away… JMM is out of his prime and anyone can see that, if he keeps facing a fighter in his mid 30’s odds favor him losing unless he becomes the Bernard Hopkins of former featherweights.. Guys wanna broker a possible moral victory for Pac by letting attrition wear down the MUCH and in boxing 5 years is alot at this point older man…FACT is that the most enduring image of their clashes belongs to Marquez he did NOT need judges, writers or fans to decide “Who Won” he used his right hand and removed all doubt… Full Credit to JMM who weathered another storm and sent Manny to outerspace…

Posted December 23, 2013 12:11 pm

SREDMOND

I have never questioned Pacquiao’s stones nor do I blame him for wanting to dilute the impact of that KO loss but alas it happened in the 4th fight of a series where neither boxer successfully dominated the other in a single fight… I personally thought the second bout was so tough to score it was not funny….Marquez is going on 41 years old and he has spent close to 10 years facing Manny off an on if he wishes to move on with his career so be it… Reality is that Manny is not gonna get full credit for beating a shop worn Marquez in his 40’s who just lost.. Guys cannot have it both ways ie JMM being a fresh fighter at close to 41 meanwhile Floyd is letting Manny get old at 35, thats just nonsense…

These two fought 4 times. Pac won the majority of the fights on paper. Marquez was never going to win a close fight, and lets face it these two were about as closely matched as a fight can hope for… Prior to the 3 and forth fights, Paquiao fans called Marquez a cry baby and said he didn’t deserve another fight if Pac didn’t want to give him one… Now the same fans are calling Marquez a cheater, and they say he afraid to fight Manny again, after nearly flat lining him… Marquez go what he’s was seeking all along, who can blame him for never wanting to give it (that felling of triumph) back… Good for Marquez.

I thought Pac clearly won the first 2 fights and also clearly lost the last 2 fights. Marquez is getting a little to old and he should really just retire. Maybe take on an easy fight to leave with a W but other than that, he needs to retire. He has take some punishment, especially his last couple of years as a boxer. But it also looks like Arum is gonna have to get Bradley in there with Pac.

Posted December 23, 2013 11:22 am

boxing barlow

It was a brutal KO but IMO its still not enough to split these fighters. It took Marquez 4 fights to find the shot and he’s abviously not confident of finding it again otherwise he would take the rematch. Pacman won the other 2 and drew a third. Also there’s a difference between a KO where a fighter is beating up another and then finds that one punch to finish him off and another thing where one fighters got on top in the fight and looking odds on for victory before his opponent finds that one punch to win the fight against the odds.

Pac has nothing to do with it. Arum wants Pacquiao to face Marquez for a 5th time because he believes it will make money, since Rios was a bust. Sorry to break it to you Pac fans, but the guy has NO control over his boxing career. None.

Besides that, Marquez doesn’t want to risk losing the star that is shining on him since he knocked Pacquaio out. Makes sense to say no to protect that star.

“Had PacMan knocked out Marquez in this manner there would be no further discussion of a 5th bout… ”

Maybe, but that would likely be because that would give Pac a 3-0-1 record in their series of fights together–which would represent clear domination of Marquez. But with Marquez getting the KO it puts Pac in a position of having to prove something–that not only can he come back against Marquez but that he can beat him again and beat him definitively.

I’ll say one thing though, you have to give Pac credit for having the balls yet again face the man who knocked him out cold in devastating fashion.

Had PacMan knocked out Marquez in this manner there would be no further discussion of a 5th bout… That said some of Mannys fans have become BITTER and irrational Marquez victory not only booked PAC Mans WORST lost it took a lot of luster away from a Mayweather fight, the public will still buy the bout because of the names involved but Pacquaio
Is now the CLEAR underdog and pressing to prove his worth against a 41 year old JMM who was outboxed by the other WW’s he faced only makes the case for Floyd’s superiority stronger..

“History will always have Pacquiao above Marquez even with that KO.” I’m not so sure about that. All three previous bouts were so close whoever had the definitive victory in fight 4 wins the quadrilogy and that as we all know is Marquez. It wasn’t just any KO it was a brutal out-for-several-minutes KO that will NEVER be forgotten. It’s one of the greatest KO’s in the history of the sport. No…sorry my friend but that KO erases any margin of victory Pac had over Marquez. Pac is an all time great in my opinion no doubt but he loses that series and must live with it. Marquez owes him nothing.

Marquez won’t fight Pacquiao because the truth is he’s lost every other fight they’ve had and knows he was losing the 4th before scoring that great knock out shot. He’ll never do it any better than that. So why try? I don’t blame him, but think it’s so funny that Marquez, Nacho, and their fans actually believe Marquez is the better fighter. Not a chance in hell my friends. History will always have Pacquiao above Marquez even with that KO. So fight… or no fight… Pacquiao still wins. Take that juicer.

At this point JMM is an OLD boxer and his performances are fight to fight… This Great fighter SHOULD be retired and nothing Manny does is gonna erase that loss he took and the manner he took it in… Those “nip and tuck” victories pale in comparison to the hammer blow that ended his night… This piece of business is concluded and JMM moving on is the best thing as opposed to a 5th fight with this aging boxer…

Pactards crack me up. Manny is as innocent as a new born lamb when it comes to PEDS, but he’s afraid of needles and doesn’t test for his biggest pay day and a legacy defining fight with Mayweather. Yet, Marquez is a PED juicer, despite agreeing to the test and fighting Floyd Mayweather? This just goes to show that Pactards are fans of Pacquiao, not boxing, hence the name. It’s called counter-punching Pactards. It’s the most dangerous punch in boxing because it lands during the opponents forward momentum, and it’s often not seen when it lands. Pacquiao leaped right into that counter shot. Even feather-fist Paulie would’ve hurt him with that punch.

The sad truth is, Manny’s career is coming to a close and it’s ending on a bad note. The Pacman is in debt; his brutal loss to Marquez has left a strong stain on his career that wreaks, and it’s becoming more clear everyday that his blind following of Arum lead to him missing out on the biggest pay day of his career and a legacy defining fight with Mayweather. Who knows what will happen in 2014, but as of right now, Pacquiao’s stock is close to running out. And if it does, he has none one to blame but himself. Many people told Manny to leave Bob Arum and Top Rank years ago. He should have listened.

Still

This is the sad state of boxing when fighters pick and choose who they want to fight. True boxing champions fight the best out there. They NEVER give the following excuses, “I won’t fight this guy again because I beat him and I want to keep this good feeling” or, “I won’t fight this guy as long as he has Bob Arum as his promoter” IMO, these are not true fighters and should not be looked upon as true champions. Coincidentally, Marquez and Mayweather both refuse to fight Manny Pacquiao. Can you imagine Duran, Hearns, Hagler, Chavez or Robinson using these excuses? They fought the best out there in their era. Floyd Mayweather and Juan Manuel Marquez show disrespect to the sport. They show their true colors. These two fighters need to be put in the Boxers Hall Of Shame. They would rather be looked at as cowards than men of courage. I truly believe they would rather fight a Great White Shark in the water rather than fight Manny Pacquiao in the ring. Manny Pacquiao continues to challenge everyone. This warrior has been beaten, but has rose from the hands of defeat to the most respected fighter of our time. Manny Pacquiao has never cheated his fans like these two guys. Manny Pacquiao was voted Fighter of The Decade for a reason. He is the ONLY 8 division boxing champion for a reason. He is the most admired and respected fighter today, for a reason. Manny Pacquiao’s legacy has alrady been cemented by his peers, sports writers and the fans. He is the the greatest fighter of all time discussion. He is a great fighter and person that will always be remembered fondly. Mayweather will always be remembered as a fighter that avoided the best of his time. Marquez will be remembered as a highly suspected PED user and the man that ran away from Manny Pacquiao even though they would pay him millions. Manny Pacquiao will always stand head and shoulders above them both. Manny is the best.

Marquez was losing the fight until Marquez landed a very lucky punch and Marquez knows it. Marquez is afraid to fight Pac ever again because he knows he will get knocked out. Marquez hired the world’s top steroid expert before fighting Pac in his last fight. Marquez’ steroid expert is also the world’s top expert at cheating the drug tests. His steroid expert testified in court, squealed on his friends to keep from going to prision…….that says it all………….

Havoc I must agree with you soldier on that outcome. If Pacquiao fights Marquez the way he fought Rios, utilizing underrated boxing ability, smart movement and his stillformidable handspeed, yes I can see a decisive clean victory for him.Marquez always had issues with good sharp boxers. Junio,Cjris John and Bradley being good examples of tjat. Peace soldier.

It looks like Arums greed is finally catching up to him. Karma is something else soon he will run out of big fights for Manny not because guys are scared because they are sick of getting robbed. Rios fight was a joke and it didnt even sell 550,00 Reason why is no one is going to pay good money to see Manny beat up bums. Afraid Manny didnt dominate Bradley, Marquez dropped him and Rios didnt get Knocked out Thruth is Manny hadnt look dominate in his last four fight no one got Knocked out. Guys are not lining up because of Arum not because of fear. Manny needs to fight Floyd that is his only chance to make some real money. He is 68 million in the hole in back taxes and his window is getting smaller everyday messing with this crook. Marquez can fight Maidana, Garica Thurman, Ruslan the list goes on. Manny will end up broke my time he retires. Guys are lining up to Fight Floyd but who is lining up to fight Manny?

Marquez is just plain scared to fight Pacman again. he knows Pacman will have to whoop his azz to the ground. Pacman will eat him alive if they fight again.

It’s fairly obvious Marquezs reasoning here. Not that I agree with it but it’s obvious. He fights Pacquiao again there is the real possibility he loses. He showed his age agai.st Bradley, who deserved tje win. Pacquiao certainly wouldn’t make the same mistake in judgement twice. So in boxing folklore he ends on this note and goes out with some satisfaction in his spirit. Marquez is a poor sportsman. Pacquiao gave the man several chances and noe the sportsmanship is not reciprocated. He has behabed very petty and nowcomes across as a whiner. Even after his well eatned victory he STILL minced and whined to all who entertained him, about the other three bouts and the outcomes. Some fans of Junior because they live vicariously through Mayweather eat this up of course.

Bradley is pretty much all pac has left. Molina, Mattysse, danny Garcia, Floyd, Maidana, Lara, Alexander, Khan all golden boy…..Doesnt leave many options, no pun intented.

BUSTAJAY

PAC is signing the deal for Bradley
JMM is like the only kid with candy in class…..he does not want to give up that last KO win …luck or no luck….he put PAC on dream street.

Just retire JMM

But times have changed quite a bit. A few years ago, top rank had all th welter weights, now GBP’s has the majority of the fighters in that range. So really Manny’s options are getting slim as far as top rank fighters.

I disagree about Pac-Juan selling better than Pac-Bradley. On his last fight, Juan looked his age while Pac showed against Rios that he still have the speed. Marquez was loosing to Pac on their last encounter until that right hand found its target on Pac’s chin. I doubt Pac would make the same mistake again.

Pac-Bradley would be a close fight, but I must go with Bradley as he showed against Marquez that he can box if he choose to do so. It’ll be a better matchup than Pac-Juan and the result will not be as predictable.

Not that he’s correct, but in Marquez’s mind he won all four fights. So he’s probably content with leaving things the way they are now, cause if they were to fight again, and it ended up being another close fight, Marqurz knows he wouldn’t get the nod…. But as it stands no one can take that brutal KO victory away from him, and that’s a win that can’t be topped… Marquez is a smart man…

Can’t out do… ( stupid I phone)…

Marquez can’t too his last fight with PAC noatter what he does from here on out…. This is a wize move..

Fight Aficionado

Not surprising. Marquez knows it’s unlikely he’d replicate the last result now that he’s not juiced to the gills on Heredia’s PED concoctions and so why give Pac an opportunity to beat him? But it’s kind of weak. Pac gave him several rematches and he can’t return the favor one time?

The Prince

Good for you Marquez. You already proved you’re the better man in the end. Why give Pacquiao another chance with a 5th fight.

Posted December 22, 2013 11:04 pm

Tachyon

Pac vs JMM 5 would not draw 400k PPV. Pac better look to Thurmond or Maidana.

Put this topic 2 bed already……….Marquez already did in the 4th fight, go 2 sleep manny…..BOOM. zzzzz zzzzz, move on.

To the Mad Scientist
On one hand you say look what happened down the stretch in the first two fights as a FACT on the other you are speculating that it would have happened again even if he did not KO Pac.

not very scientific at all

Posted December 22, 2013 9:37 pm

SREDMOND

Marquez is smart to move on even though money is always a wild card JMM set out to get a clear win over Pacquiao and he did that in the most clear fashion imaginable…Marquez has been slugging with Manny since 2004 and he’s now a soon to be 41
Year old fighter about to enter his last year in the sport, he wants a rematch with Bradley and to win a WW Title something PAC Man does not have… Guys wanna run this aging fighter at Manny till he coughs up his victory and act like that expunges the KO from Mannys record which it does not…

Posted December 22, 2013 9:30 pm

The Mad Scientist

Only a pactard will conveniently assume Marquez was on the verge of getting stopped if it wasn’t for the so called lucky punch..Lol!, have any of you pacfarts seen fights 1 and 2..Juan looked to be in worst shape in those fights and we all know what happen down the stretch, those are the hard facts not fanboy speculation

This match up has run its course…. 2014 Manny vs Bradley/ Ruslan. Off contract 2015 Mayweather fight if he gets through the mentioned im thinking manny will lose 2014.

No one wants to see pac vs jmm part 5. Really who fights 5 times? Rather see pac vs Bradley. Besides jmm looked horrible his last fight. He needs to retire!

Get real

You pactards never stop to amaze me .. Now Marquez is ducking pac after getting robbed 2 out of the 3 fights and then Knocking pac a$$ into dream land .. GTFO Pac got KOed live with the shame .

DMX

He knows he will be battered
Last time he was on the verge of getting stopped
He had blood coming from his nose his mouth his ears
Before pulling that punch from the Gods as PAC went in for the kill

Let him sit for a bit with his boggle eyed nerd son sharing a cup of wee wee

He’ll change his mind
