This pundit says.., “When Khan does end up having to fight someone like Marcos Maidana gain, Khan will likely get knocked out unless there’s a referee that can someone keep Maidana off of him during critical points in the fight like when he’s been buzzed from a big shot.”
Right.., Joe Cortez won that fight — not Khan… Cortez was breaking up non-clinches where khan was holding on to one of Maidana was blastng him with his free hand … That allowed Khan to survive.
It’s ridiculous to match Floyd with a weak challenger whose best shot is not getting KO’d and maybe giving Floyd a problem — but will probably suffer a brutal beating and be gone in 7 rounds.
It ridiculous when you have fighters like Lara, Pacquiao, and Garcia, who Floyd will never KO — and will give Floyd the fights of his life… And they’re out there — ready, willing, fast, slick, powerful, and able to fight Floyd any way he wants to take it — box, punch, or brawl.Posted December 25, 2013 11:31 pm
khan has as much chance of beating mayweather as he”s got finding a pork chop in a mosque.Posted December 24, 2013 10:27 am
If this fight happens Floyd will try to make the fight look more competitive than it is so then can say Khans a v good fighter and deserved his shot! He is one big con artist.Posted December 24, 2013 7:15 am
Khan is retired. He’ll fight again but only for a Floyd pay day. He doesn’t care that he’ll lose, he just wants the cash. Even if he has to wait until September 2014 for his lottery fight, he’ll wait and not fight anyone else. The guy is a joke. This fight, if it happens, is an insult to the sport.Posted December 24, 2013 6:20 am
BLACKBERT, YOU’RE TALKING THROUGH your hat. Not sure what your post is about? My issue with Khan is he is a serial “queue jumper,” no more, no less.
He is coming off a bad showing vs a blown up lightweight and beating another blown up lightweight before and getting KO’d by SWIFT and beaten by Peterson before that.
He has never competed at welterweight and blew off a fight with Alexander scheduled for December in order to queue jump his lottery ticket… He did the same thing getting a shot at Jnr Welter, when he was a lightweight to avoid the likes of a rampaging Valero, Diaz and Campbell….
Can you see the pattern here?Posted December 24, 2013 5:40 am
Even if he doesn’t have a good chin, Khan showed recuperative abilities in the Garcia fight so I guess it would take a massive puncher or a finisher to keep him down, Mayweather being neither of them. I give Khan a good chance of outpoiting FloydPosted December 24, 2013 2:55 am
This fight with Mayweather may be undeserved but I hope Khan gets it, makes his money and retires. There has been signs of Khan’s punch resistance getting worse and unless the move up to welterweight helps with this problem, Khan should retire as soon as he can as there’s a real danger of him being hurt. Of course if the extra weight seems to help him with taking a punch then he can cautiously continue as there are some interesting fights for him at welterweight and Khan fights are usually great to watch.Posted December 23, 2013 8:56 pm
If that’s what nazim thinks the same can be said of Pac…..Pac doesn’t have to beat Floyd to win….Bradley, Porter, Thurman all don’t have to beat Floyd to win…however, Floyd KNOWS he can beat Khan which is why Khan is even being considered but not because Khan presents a formidable challenge….anything but. Floyd wants easy money to go along with easy fights. Those two tangibles must go together. Anybody that is anyone in boxing would rank Pac, Bradley, Porter and Thurman ahead of has been Khan. You have to wonder what goes on in the mind of a supposed “ATG” to make him fight easy fights and expect to be respected like the ATG of the past.Posted December 23, 2013 8:16 pm

Do not buy this fight under any circumstances, regardless of the undercard, and make it known that the ppv and US viewership will be in the toilet. That’s how you deal with this. Don’t watch it. PBF thinks he will stack the undercard and people will give in and buy it.Posted December 23, 2013 5:49 pm
Wilder and Fury are both media hyped UP NON Contenders. They don’t stand a chance. They’re both too RAW while Wlad is a well polished VETERAN. Thats called having the Boxing IQ advantage as well as the SKILLS advantage. Thats very TOUGH to overcome. Chavez JR and Nonito Donaire agree with ME on that. Ortiz, Canelo, Pascal, Froch, and Pavlik all agree with ME TOO.Posted December 23, 2013 5:18 pm
Khan does well against boxers rather than punchers, so he might do well here. He beat Judah and Malignaggi with ease, he even beat Maidana. And don’t forget, he thoroughly outclassed Barrera.Posted December 23, 2013 2:47 pm
Khan, is the boxing Gumby, a green claymation character whose dog, Nopey, says, “No!” to this fight. Please listen, Floyd. Thanks.Posted December 23, 2013 1:59 pm
Chanes are khan will prove a difficult equation for a few rounds then Floyd will figure him out and khan won’t be able to adjust himself accordingly.
I think Khan may actually make this interesting. Make no mistake, he doesn’t deserve the shot, but on his day, he’s an offensive monster. Good speed, power, punch selection and endurance.
Khan has the superior speed, good power, and great talent, but he hasn’t got the chin.
Mayweather could never lose to Khan, eventhough Money hasn’t got that much punching power.
Another difference, Mayweather does not stand and trade punches, Khan does.
Yet another thing; Khan has not deserved a fight like this.
Don’t get me wrong, I like Khans style, but without a chin, you can’t make it, in boxing.Posted December 23, 2013 1:38 pm
Pac or Bradley is not happening unless they leave Top Rank. Though it does look like Bradley may only have one fight left with Top Rank so that fight may be able to happen next year. Floyd and Golden Boy arent doing business with Top Rank.Posted December 23, 2013 1:35 pm
There are only 2 options as far as Im concerned. Pac or Bradley. Screw all the bs about top rank . The only fights Im paying for is Pac or Bradley. Anyone else just dont cut it. You guys can analyze all day but Khan Maidona or anyone else you think of is just easy work. So go ahead and keep trying to justify any other fight beside pac or bradley. Your all just wasting your time and fooling and lying to yourselves.Posted December 23, 2013 1:24 pm
Khan is smoked, he’s looking for the mother load. He and his team know his best is in the past. He almost got stretched out by an ancient stiff legged Diaz. His next fight has to be for big bucks cos it is his last as elite level. He can be beat by most in top 20 at 140 and 147. Floyd will choose someone weak and small and preferably old. This means Khan is in with a shot. He might even spook Floyd with his first fast flurry. Then his brain will take over and he gets beat.Posted December 23, 2013 12:51 pm
Damn, Khan is only 26 and has beaten the likes of Maidana, Malinaggi, Zab and Kotelinik (I also had him beating a juiced Peterson)so is hardly a bum. The only time he has lost it has been due to his chin and his desire to trade. If he could stick to his in and out style he will be difficult for anyone, even Mayweather not saying he will win but he has a good style to make the fight difficult for FMJ.Posted December 23, 2013 12:15 pm

TJ, so that was you calling for a boycott of Pacquiao for fighting Rios, and now trying to fight Mike Alvarado. And that is you calling for a boycott of Canelo for losing his sack everytime Erislandy Lara calls his name. Also, thank you for calling for a boycott of Donaire and Micky Garcia for not moving up to 140lb or atleast face Gary Russel Jr. or Terence Crawford. Without a doubt, you’re the fairest of them all.Posted December 23, 2013 11:33 am

People have been saying time to boycott Floyd fights for a couple of years now yet he is still the PPV king. I don’t want to see Khan get a shot at Floyd neither. I would much rather see Maidana. And from what I read Bradley has 1 more fight with Top Rank so hopefully he wins that fight and then moves on so he can fight Floyd since he truly does deserve the shot.Posted December 23, 2013 11:16 am

GETALIFE , Khan’s trainer is VIRGIL HUNTER. Nazim trained the likes of SUGAR SHANE!
When Richardson took over training duties he said that he didn’t think Khan was that good. Over a year later, and despite Khan believing that he’s much better for a long lay-off, Richardson evidently doesn’t think Khan’s improved at all. And him coming out and saying it in public might just have lost Khan his big, and wholly undeserved, fight.Posted December 23, 2013 10:07 am
Fury should fight Wilder. Neither of them have a date.Posted December 23, 2013 9:59 am
Khan wins this by SD. He will bully Mayweather until he runs out of gas and then Mayweather will win back some rounds plus one with a knock down. But it will be too late as Khan will have banked too many early on. You heard it here first.Posted December 23, 2013 9:57 am
Naazim Richardson should STFU! We are looking for competitive fight you moron, we don’t spend our money for exhibition.Posted December 23, 2013 9:27 am
Personally I think many of the comments on here regarding Khan are very harsh. Points of interest in this fight for me are: Khan has only ever had problems with pressure fighters who can take a shot. No one has ever out boxed khan. They have always been heavy handed fighters who have found that one KO punch, Khan has never been getting beat up and then KO’d. Against both Prescott and Garcia he was in control of the fight and dishing out punishment (he was robbed against Peterson IMO) until he got clocked. On the flip side Mayweather is no pressure fighter. Whilst he has some power Mayweather has not had a legitimate KO since Hatton back in 2007, a whole 7 years ago! All we’ve been putting up with for years is the idea that the way to beat Mayweather was to pressure him. This time we have got a guy who’s speed may actually be quick enough to get his fist onto mayweather before Floyds reflexes can move him out of the way. I think Khan has the chance to make this one of the most competative fights Mayweathers ever been in.Posted December 23, 2013 9:26 am
Khan is an above-average fighter with some skills but he’s just not an elite — never really has been. Had he been a fighter from New York or Los Angeles we would see him as a solid top 15 fighter and nothing more. He doesn’t deserve all of the harsh comments, but American fight fans are not amenable to seeing a raft of fighters from outside the country being overly hyped. If Mayweather takes him on as an opponent he will be doing so for business reasons — very low risk and high-enough reward in $$$.Posted December 23, 2013 8:54 am
As long as Floyd thinks Pac is a threat to him, he will come up excuses after another just to kill the fight. It’s sad because I do think Floyd has the edge in terms of size and defence. All he need is to have cojones to man up and fight already.Posted December 23, 2013 8:30 am

I am english and not interested in this fight especially as we will have to pay to watch it. Khan dont deserve it and should fight Maidana,Danny G or even Prescot to avenge his defeat although he should have done that agas ago and dont respect him for taking the easier routes.they try to keep him away from punchers as much as possible which is why this fight with Mayweather is perfect for him. Yes Khan will lose but he wont have a mark on him nor will Mayweather but both will be laughing all the way to the bank. Pacman vs Mayweather only fight i want to see next. Pacman outworks him all day long!Posted December 23, 2013 6:00 am

khan to win by out punching mayweather. Floyd will get frustrated in this fight with the amount of clean headshots he has to take.Posted December 23, 2013 5:19 am
Khan won’t fight any more after he gets a Floyd pay day. It’s a retirement pay day, so why is the writer saying that Khan can get good fights if he has a few good rounds against Floyd? Khan isn’t going to fight anyone else after picking up $6m. This is a retirement pay day for Khan. He does not care how he looks or that he’ll lose. It’s a cash and dash job. It’s a terrible mismatch and a joke of a fight. But for some weird reason, Golden Boy seem to think Khan is some kind of God. It’s bewildering. Is Richard Schaeffer watching the same fights as the rest of us. Khan is a b-level fighter with a glass chin coming off a run of bad fights and two losses. How can anyone take Khan seriously an an opponent for Floyd?Posted December 23, 2013 5:00 am
Teflon, all good points sir, apart from khan is a god in the UK,khan is not very well liked over here,he has been found out as a greedy little cry baby who along with his family must spend as long thinking up excuses for his losses as he dose training,a year out of the ring waiting for a certan loss for shed loads of money, sad fact is people only watch him to see him get KOd to see who else he can blame.Posted December 23, 2013 4:55 am

HIDALGO, IF THE FIGHT is held in UK I will fear for Floyd.
The refs here jump in as soon as someone lands a 3 or 4 punch combo (or seems to land a 3 or 4 punch combo), which will play into the hands of Amir early – Amir is a punch and pusher [he punches and tries to push his opponents into the ropes at the same time, to make it look like he has done damage].
If the fight is held in UK I hope we get a NEUTRAL ref…
I have seen too many times when our refs have bent over backwards for the house fighter to the detriment of the visitor.
Examples of refs cheating for Khan in UK:
Even Kahn’s trainer said he wouldn’t stand a chance against Mayweather.
Could be an interesting fight for the first 4 or 5 rounds until the inevitable of a Mayweather schooling session takes over.Posted December 23, 2013 4:21 am
Strong possibility! Thank u!Posted December 23, 2013 3:29 am
murderman: I think it’s possible. Maybe it’s Money’s ploy to test boxing fans’ reaction. If he thinks it wouldn’t sell, he’ll choose another opponent with low risk/high reward.Posted December 23, 2013 3:16 am
Now keep in mind yall this is all speculation. Tmt or gbp hasnt said anything about khan vs floyd. Floyd could pull a curve ball and fight someone we least suspect. Remember they pulled guerroro and canelo out of left field!Posted December 23, 2013 2:54 am
Blacker, good evening. Though im highly skeptical of Khan, anything is possible. Its been a long time since we have seen him in action and as I said before ,perhaps he corrected those flaws that eere a detriment to him. One never knows till the first bell rings. Peace sokdier.Posted December 23, 2013 1:52 am
In reality this fight SHOULD NOT be made. Khan has done virtually nothing to deserve this fight. There are boxers out there who are far more deserving because their efforts gave thwm that right. Danmy Garcia and Maidana being just being two of them. Still as I said before Junior likes to ride the horse. Meaning taking the sure thi.g. In this case the horse being Khan.Posted December 23, 2013 1:47 am
Look at the Alverez bout, It was the highest in boxing history. Floyd would be a fool not to fight Kahn, Amir his huge over seas and this fight will sell out Vegas another 300 mil on ppv easily. Kahn poses no treat skill wise but this one is all about the money. The are all ready talking about it like crazy in the UK where Kahn is a God. Floyd knows buisness and he is looking for the biggest Money fights out there thats why he changed his name to Money. Kahn again will be huge then he can fight Garcia another big pay day as long as he stayed undefeated, Garcia will be next after Kahn those two fights alone will put over 200 mil in his bank account. Manny is broke Marquez turned down a 5 fight, And Arum is running out of options Floyd is the biggest fight for anyone right now and guys are lining up. Manny on the other hand fight bums like Rios and makes no money. I bet he wished he didnt turn down that 40 mil now….Posted December 23, 2013 1:45 am
I know a lot of people don’t rate Khan and believe that the fight will be a mismatch, but I beg to differ. Not that I rate Khan so highly, but styles make fights, and Khan’s speed, jab and hand speed will be a big issue for Floyd. I think Floyd will have his hands full in this fight. His experience and ability to adjust will eeventuly neutralise Khan, but this will be a very difficult fight for Floyd. Maidana will be an easier option. Even Danny Garcia will be an easier fight. I don’t like the Khan fight for Floyd, it’s too dangerous.Posted December 23, 2013 1:42 am
2 loses in a row prior to this fight! Don’t make any sense except for its a business.Posted December 23, 2013 1:28 am
This is pathetic, Khan has looked horrible in his past two fights. He opted out fighting Alexander to wait for this fight. He knew Alexander was going to give him another “L”. Losing the fight meant career OVER. No more Mayweather, now some how Mayweather is choosing him as his next opponent. If Mayweather fights Khan we know who is his real DADDY!!! and he is no Jr like he told his father because he is a Paquiao “Jr”.. LOL…Posted December 23, 2013 1:23 am
Fighting Kahn is all about the Money he poses no treat anyone has a punchers chance thats about it. Floyd has fought tall guys before look at Diego Corralez. He was tall used his jab and you seen the results. Kahn is about the money because he has a huge following for this reason alone the fight will get done, as far as him coming out ahead he will because it will be the biggest pay day of his life….Posted December 23, 2013 1:22 am
Fixed fight!Posted December 23, 2013 1:19 am
Good evening. Interesting observation by Nasim. Prior to Khans fall from.grace with his losses to garcia and Peterson, there were several whispers that due to his height, speed and reach ,Khan could give Junior a worthy battle if not pull off an upset. The issue however has always been in.my view not his chin, thoigh shakey it is. Its his somewhat amateurish style and the defensive lapses in his game that would be his downfall against junior. Also his mental lapses. Of course his being out of action may be a blessing in disguise. He would be more acclimated with his new trainer and bei.g out almost a yea, he may have corrected some if not all his shortcomings. Junior would habe a different equation to feal with instead of the horse he expects to see run out the gate. How ironic it would be if he should lose this SURE THING after nixing a bout with his rival Pacquiao. Boxing is the theayer of the unexpected at times. Cheers.Posted December 23, 2013 1:05 am
Khan should fight Maidana first ..again…..then he would be forced to retire after that beat down…LOLPosted December 23, 2013 12:55 am
If khan can avoid getting pop shot all night long he does have a chance he may have a sweat chin but he can box. I still see May busting khans ass in the end. A good style match up.Posted December 23, 2013 12:46 am
Timing is the best weapon in boxing and Mayweather does have great timing, but timing is nullified by combos. Mayweather uses his timing by taking what you give him, he rarely initiate an attack. When he fought Canelo he bit on a lot fakes during rounds 1 and 2 until Canelo got tired. Mayweather does not do well with taller fighters that have a good jab both Roger and Mayweather Sr. Have gone on the record and said the late Forest would have beaten Mayweather and they said this before Forest died. Khan the unlikely fighter by fight fans and experts will be the one to beat Mayweather.Posted December 23, 2013 12:29 am
It will probably be held in the U.K. so it won’t bomb as a PPV.Posted December 23, 2013 12:25 am
This fight is bad for boxing; its bad for Mayweather’s legacy; Be like fighting a kid. Somebody please stop this from happeningPosted December 22, 2013 11:56 pm
Nazim is correct of course. Expectations are so low all Khan has to do is survive and his rep is buoyed. That’s one of many reasons why it’s a lame fight to consider. He’d be a 12/1 underdog when there’s several fights available that are 2/1 opponents or less.Posted December 22, 2013 11:48 pm
Khan is a front runner with a glass jaw. Mayweather will tko him in the later rounds. Khan poses a problem because of his speed but speed can be nullified by timing . Mayweather has the best timing and reflexes.Posted December 22, 2013 11:14 pm

If this fight gets made, unlike Richardson I believe Khan will win the fight. Mayweather has the perfect style for Khan. People say Mayweather will adjust, that will be true if Khan was an aggressive fighter therefore allowing Mayweather to time his punches. But what I have seen of Khan he ts Kessler what Mayweatherm and he adds combinations to it. Mayweather is not an aggressive fighter and his chin is just as weak as Khan, he just hasn’t been tapped on It like Khan because of the way he fights, he don’t throw that many punches. Let us not forget Mosley had Mayweather hurt the 2nd round, but instead of him finishing it, he just let Mayweather put his hands up and walk him down
Yep good article. If Khan survives and loses every round he will gain something. If he gets just a few moments in the fight that looks good for him too, only problem is its so hard tonblook remotlety good against may weather. But Khans reputation is so low that any glimmer in the fight will make him shine. I can see some controversy in this fight, something like this being stopped early, making out the fight could of gone on longer with Khan gaining something but everyone being left disappointedPosted December 22, 2013 9:37 pm
