Yo MOMMA

Thereafter, Ellerbe stated publicly that the Alvarez camp had begun the negotiations with an offer to fight at a catchweight and declared, “His management is inept. We take advantage of those kinds of things. They suggested it. Why would we say no and do something different. They put him at a disadvantage, his management did. It wasn’t that Floyd asked for a catchweight because, absolutely, that did not happen. Floyd would have fought him regardless. His management put that out there. So if you have an idiot manager, that’s what it is.”

The Alvarez camp responded by saying that Ellerbe was lying.

“Why would I give up weight?” Canelo asked rhetorically. “I’m the 154-pound champion. When the negotiations started, they wanted me to go down to 147, then 150, then 151, finally 152. I said I’d do it to make the fight. But it’s not right that they’re lying about it. I don’t want to fight two pounds below the weight class, but it was the only way I could get the fight.”

“Being the A-side is about having leverage,” Ellerbe fired back. “We’re always going to put every opponent at a disadvantage if we can.”

Floyd Mayweather Jr should take the fight against Bernard “The Executioner” Hopkins at middleweight level and we will have a great matchup – My prediction of that fight? Well I know Mayweather Jr would get the early rounds just so Hopkins can adjust style, tempo and speed needed to use and in later round he would use his advantage in power, reach and height and then pick Mayweather slowly appart.

Hopkins would eventelly Knock-Out Mayweather Jr in 11th or 12th round.
And I would love to see Mayweather jr get beated up a bit and lose so we all can get some quiet time from that greedy, trashtalking, good for nothing “superstar”.

Floyd Mayweather Jr is a bad taste for boxing with his MONEY IMAGE and when the day comes he is gone, WE WILL NOT MISS HIM.
Again, Such a waste of tallant when he could have been something more.

Deontay Wilder has not fought anyone to be on any P4P list. Wilder needs to take on some serious competition and should be chasing the Klits around for a fight.

GarryintheBronx, how can you or anyone of semi sound mind justify Deontay Wilder being in the top 15 pound for pound when the highest rank fighter is not even in the top 40 let alone a fringe contender B level fighter. Sure his 30 wins and 30 kos looks glossy, flashy, and impresive. However, Deontay Widers management team must know something that you or I don’t know why is his opositon is still very lowly ranked. His management team must see a vulnerbility. Heck even though SethMitchel did not accomplish much in the ring that was expected. He still fought much better oposition then Wilder.

I see if you are a big Middleweight and continually beat on no named, pretenders the size of Welters and Jnr Middles it makes you a P4P contender. That hype train just picked up Mr Slater. Choooooooo!!!!! Chooooooooo!!!!!

GaryintheBronx

How did Mr. Wilder not make this list? Seems to me he would KO half the list on the same night. I say Sergio is not active enough to be on the list and after review of his last bout, he lost. I can’t agree that JMM or Alvarez should be on the list whereas GGG should be ranked 6th or even 5th. Andy Ruiz Jr. is a number 15 pick for me – excellent boxer who causes opposition to simply quit.

Personally i think Wlad and Froch, both have seen their stocks drop because of bad performances despite winning. I would drop them both from the top ten.

also Stevenson.

kovalev should be ahead of hopkin, alvarez and hopkinas.

Carl Froch, and Saul Averez don’t deserve to be in the top 15 instead it should be Sergie Kovalev, and Mrcos Maidonna

Manny should be in the running because of his brilliant tactical fight he showcased to the boxing world when he completely changes his style of fighting while taking on a tough Brandon Rios. his movement was graceful. His timing was extraordinary, and his ring generalship left me and others in awe. This was a fighter that everyone had already retired. he came back in the mot anticipated fighter ever, and he performed at the elite level. The fluidity and command of the ring and his opponent was spectacular. The man came back from the dead and put on the most masterful display of boxing I’ve ever seen. Manny Pacquiao deserves to be in the running for Fighter Of The Year. This is just my opinion.

“Why is Bradley and Ward there? Ward fought once in 2013 and Bradley should be 5 or below” – Agree Bradley should be somewhere in 5-10. Ward was inactive mostly but he hasn’t lost since locking up #2. But the same logic should apply to Martinez who was obv #3 until injuries slowed him. Slater’s logic is inconsistent here, almost like he just blasted a bunch of names and numbers.

Slater was either drunk when he posted this or he’s pounding Cool Aid cut with Molly. He’s been off lately with his year-end awards and his year-end PFP. The No 1-2 is obv but nobody can make a case for anything but Floyd followed by Ward. The rest is a mess. GGG isn’t in the top 10? Martinez down to #7 even though he was a consensus #3 a year ago and hasn’t lost? Bradley at #3 even though many believe he’s lost 2 of his last 3?

Hec Dog, Pac isn’t in the running. He beat one lame opponent in a non-title fight

Posted December 26, 2013 5:30 pm

WHAT!?!

The list seems a little all over the place for me. All good fighters though. I wonder how you come to the conclusion that Hopkins is above Stevenson and Kovalev for 2013? Kovalev is the best LHW and Stevenson is the recognised LHW Belt holder World Champion. Kovalev has absolutely destroyed all-comers in 2013 including a Champion (a very weak one) at LHW. Yet he can’t get into a top 15. In 3 years positions 1,2,3 will be Kovalev, GGG, Lomanchenko.

Posted December 26, 2013 5:00 pm

Mikey Garcia, GGG, Adonis Stevenson, Danny Garcia, Guillermo Rigondeaux, Sergey Kovalev and Manny Pacquiao are all in the running. They all exceed expectations.

I agree more Floyd is totally scared of a guy who has not dominated in his last four fights who couldnt beat feather punching Bradley who Marquez put to sleep and couldnt KO Rios yeah thats it really its all clear now fear Floyd is scared to death in his 10 million dollar mansion and has nightmares of Manny and loosing everything even his new Bugatti. Because Floyd really knows that Manny is more dangerous than Alverez a guy that KOed everyone he fought and was undefeated, You see Manny really never lost and CJ Ross cheated him and Marquez got lucky despite putting him down twice. Oh yeah he is totally afraid thats why he sent Manny a contract and 40 million dollars to make the fight in which he turned down, Manny really is superman and he really is afraid of neddles and the tattos he have are painted on and the IRS made a mistake he really dont owe them 68 million Manny is the greatest and Floyd ducked everyone and all the undefeated champions Floyd beat where in fact cherry picked and he was not just declared p4p greatest in 2013 Manny is still numer1 and he loves to sing lol.

Posted December 26, 2013 1:56 pm

P4P has become a useless list. You can’t lose 5 fights beat one person then jump to number 1 on the list. Wast of time and effort these days to even talk about it. 20 years ago it meant something now days its just tabloid news.

The focus on the Pacquiao bout has gotten out of hand and is honestly over the top… If Floyd beats Manny does he automatically become the Greatest ever? Erik Morales did NOT become the Greatest when he beat Pac Man nor did Juan Manuel Marquez who CRUSHED him in 6 rounds…Mayweathers career does NOT need to be validated by defeating Manny Pacquiao, it would definitely be a nice feather in his cap that said he obliterated (technically) the fighter that flattened Manny, CLEARLY there should be additional cache from that bout if this is gonna be the overriding thesis on Pacquiao…Manny and Floyd are BOTH ATG fighters and where they land is up for debate, this was a bout that people wanted to see but its time has pretty much come and gone… Spending the rest of these guys careers in a perpetual tantrum is getting VERY old… There are OTHER boxers and challenges out there… If both guys retire today, they are FIRST Ballot HOFERs, Record Breakers, and ATG’s….

Danny Garcia should be on the top-ten list, not as number 12. I would rank Pac over Marquez, simply because Juan lost badly to Bradley after KOing Pac, while Pac made Rios look like an amateur after many people felt he was done. I would also place Guillermo Rigondeaux over Martinez as Sergio was lucky to come up as the winner on his last fight. As for Gennady Golovkin, he hasn’t fought anyone as of yet…how can he be above fighters like Danny Garcia who has continuously proven the critiques wrong?

Where is , Amir khan, broner, wilder, James de gale, David price, Adrain broner, Ricky burns. And Michael sprot beat the man who beat James the greatest ever and still the greatest toney in prize fighter. Shocking lol

This list is pure trash outside of the top two spots. Danny Garcia is ranked way to low and had arguably the best two years of any fighter in a while.

are haye and fury on the list by any chance lol.

When being ‘boring’ is supposedly detrimental to your effectiveness as a fighter, you can’t really take the list seriously. I would mention the other numerous holes but I’d be here until 2014. Laughable article from a laughable ‘author’.

Heavyweights don’t belong on the P4P list. The reason the list was ever created was to give recognition to the smaller fighters under Heavyweight, namely Sugar Ray Robinson. Being Heavyweight Champion ment you where the baddest man on the planet and that is recognition enough.

Posted December 26, 2013 10:02 am

Wladimir never fought Adamek. Whose p4p list is this? Pacquiao after getting knocked unconscious by Marquez should not be in the top 10, just because he beat a punching bag with legs named Rios. When he fights a real skilled fighter then he can get a look in.

Must b a typo…..manny should b no.1. But serously now Mikey Danny Garcia and stevenson should

Wladimir and Adamek have not fought, Vitali fought Adamek, it was an uneventful one sided beat down but not a hug-a-thon. My guess is the authour meant Wladimir Klitchko v Povetkin which was a hug-a-thon with Klitchko using some questionable tactics despite barely losing a minute of a single round.
