I saw Makabu’s all fight,a cleverly’s few fight as a boxer I don’t see cleverly beat makabu he will. Knock him out round 7. Makabu can take and he can punch his best than clev.

What happened to the Kovalev rematch? That’s the perfect fight for Nathan to get brought back down to earth and realise he is not elite level. Nathan has no punch power at light heavyweight, he’ll have even less power at cruiser. This is a crazy, desperate move. Nathan needs to focus on getting work as a sparring partner for some of the elite guys. He can make a decent living doing that, and probably enjoy a nice lunch too.

Does Nathan’s adviser have so little regard for him? (Is he being advised?)

I agree with others on here. Cleverly is and never was a bad fighter rather Kovalev is something really special! I’m Sure his career wont go south like Macaranellis did buy he will get some decent fights and win some titles along the way.

I would of like to have seen him fight enzo maccrinelly but not at cruiserweight as i think enzo could be very dangerous at lightheavy an should stay there.

Don’t understand how clev got criticised for taking “easy”fights paper titles and all that, and now he’s getting abused for taking hard ones,I’d rather see him take on Enzo or rematch with Bellew but if there not happening at least he’s not sat on his arse waiting around for easier pay days, got to give him credit for that,a few more could take a leaf out of that book.

Early on in his career he looked good then that Mohammedi fight ,he looked real poor.Stopped progressing after that fight and fought ‘no name brand ‘fighters ,winning and collecting nice money for FW and himself.Well at least his made good money.Goes on to another career, maybe help FW count his money,FW promotions having a hard time recently.

Mr gav

This is a bad move. I don’t think cleverly has a glass jaw I actually think he can absorb a lot. Kovalov is a freak of nature and clev had wrong tactics which made him look awfull, the problem is now he is facing a big hitter at a higher weight. This is another big risk one I’m not sure will pay off, I hope it dose as I like clev and we need guys in the cruiser weight dividion

Cleverly gets WAAAAY too much stick on here. Hes a very good fighter who ran into one of the hardest punchers at 175 of the last decade for godssake. People act like he got knocked out by some nobody. Kovalev is a beast. No shame in losing that

What on earth kind of matchup is this? Makabu is not known at all outside of boxing circles in the UK. The fight will get very little publicum as far as Cleverly is concerned. Either Nathan is so tough he’s desperate to show the world he isn’t afraid of punchers. Or admirably he wants to fight in Africa? (not sure if the fight is there) Or there’s more money for this than meets the eye and Cleverly is cashing some for retirement. Remember Cleverly did have a few ‘world’ title defences and has openly stated he’s financially set for retirement. He even said he would retire after the Kovalev fight. If I were Cleverly’s promoter I would do everything I could to see him matched at home with Macarinelli. Enzo is still a relatively big name, he’s been active of late, and has a HUGE fanbase in Wales and the UK. They easily sell out a big arena. It lets Cleverly show he can take on a puncher and knowing the form of the pair potentially provides him with a fan friendly fight and a decisive knockout win. Then he can assess and move on.

big head

bad matchmaking for cleverly and bad move he just got knockout by a puncher in his last fight now they putting him in with another puncher and makabu is a beast he no joke he can really punch and he a good fighter to he going to be to big and strong for cleverly cleverly is not a big puncher as it is i doubt he be able to hurt makabu or get his respect makabu got a good chin clerverly best bet is try to outwork makabu use his jab and reach from the outside if he trys to fight with makabu he aint going to win that battle at all cleverly going to have to become a boxer and use his feet since he a cruiserweight now but makabu is just to powerful i see him hurting cleverly and punish him and proably take him out in the 7th or 8th round

this is what happens when you get a hype job given a paper title, unfortunatly there”s more about now than there ever was.

Seems clev is banking on Makabu being just a crude banger with no real boxing skill

Lord Kettersly Salinger the Victorian Gentleman Maths Ninja

The Welsh are a strange troglodyte breed and thus this particular pugilistic encounter is of little interest to the well bred gentleman.

TARK

Just what Cleverly needs… You just got smashed by one murderous puncher… So fight another one first chance you get.
