Losing patience!

WOW Floyd and his fans will look silly if Khan goes on to beat him. I think Khan does have one attribute required to beat Floyd – speed. But the gloves should be on Pacs fists who has the same attribute plus many more.

Khan has recuperative powers that send him to the future. When he recovers, its the year 2045 and terminators rule the earth. He then digs up Virgil Hunter from his grave and takes on the Predator for his tune up fight.

Khan can recover from a head punch but it will take 1…. day

Posted December 30, 2013 12:15 pm

Khan is semi retired. He will only fight again if it’s a FMJ lottery pay day. Even if Floyd makes him wait until May 2015 or September 2015, Khan will not fight anyone else in the meantime. He will sit and wait forever for the Floyd fight. And then retire after he gets it. Khan just wants the money, the guy is not a serious fighter any longer or a warrior. He doesn’t deserve the FMJ fight and I hope he doesn’t get it unless he beats two top welters first.

Pts says.., “Boycott Floyd les it’s against Thurman, Porter, Pac or Bradley.”

Lara and Garcia are more dangerous.. The 4 above are all good.. The problem is none of them are exceptionally fast and and crafty.. They all take punishment at this stage of their careers except for Pacman.. But even Pac gets hit by slow guys..

Is Marquez slow??? At his age I would say he is.. If Pac-Marq IV was a year ago he was slowing down and getting hit a ton..

I will put my money on young speedsters with exceptional timing, like Lara and Garcia… If you want a fight where Floyd could visit the floor and most Floyd fans have a lump in their throat before the decision is announced … that’s gotta be Lara or Garcia—because nobody else give Floyd fits.

Hate’tah kill’a

It’s amazing the comments that go back and forth from so called fansperts fan duds. If you guys can take time and read Hunters article on fight hype he made valid points. You want to mention money as Hunters motivation well he has no problems expaining khans lack of in between fight dedication where you fix your flaws. He also said in a interview that anytime a fighter comes off a loss (khan vs Garcia) that fans who know nothing about repairing a fighters psyche will want the fighter to fight the same dumb reckless way. He stressed once khan understood how he got himself in predicaments and understood when to go,not to go,etc that khan would be even more exciting. Hunter has seen khan do some things in practice that if he understood how to be consistent would silence so called critics and fickle fans who should take time to box a few fights themselves. They would understand that the best way to be a real fan is to LEARN TO LISTEN AND LISTEN TO LEARN

I wouldn’t mind seeing this fight! Khan,IMO can match Mayweather in speed, accuracy i don’t know about but it would be interested to see. Khan is a good boxer!

The whole reason why Khan hired Hunter was so that khan wouldn’t have to rely on his recuperative powers. If that’s what’s gonna win Khan fights, then why did khan leave roach for? Hunter is taking himself out of a job here!

Khan will beat Mayweather to the punch.. He is a lot quicker. Khan to dominate a frustrate Mayweather.. Mayweather senior will jump in the ring and start a brawl when his son is being beaten pillar to post… All these people writing off khan have no boxing IQ, styles make fights and Mayweather will have nightmares in the ring with khan

khan has one major flaw in boxing, he”s allergic to leather.

Hunter gets paid when Khan fights. Naturally, he wants a piece of Khan’s lottery pay day and is now trying to big Khan up. These guys are a total joke. Andre Ward has talent which Hunter had nothing to do with. It was natural born talent.

Its about time Mayweather fights a fast opponent how long its been..since the Judah fight?? Don’t mind this match up at all

Posted December 29, 2013 4:25 am

Boxtradumb, Khan’s IQ is not better then Floyd’s off course but khan is younger and is just as fast as mayweather maybe faster and he is no Guerrero to or Ortiz and btw you say Ortiz is better because he was a champ???? Lmao ! !!! Who he beat ? Berto ??? And who tkfo him before that ?? Maidana the same Maidana who lost to khan and you say Ortiz is better than khan because he was a champ ??? GTFO !!! That’s how much you know boxing

This is a money grab and thats IT.

Posted December 29, 2013 1:31 am

Boxtradamus

You’re a FOOL. Khan’s Boxing IQ is no where NEAR the level of Floyd’s. Hopkins is probably the only guy out there that can match Floyd’s Boxing IQ. The gap is TOO large here. This is close to another Floyd vs Ortiz type matchup but at least Ortiz was a CHAMP. Shawn Porter is a more formidable WW opponent for Floyd than Khan. Even Porter would stop Khan because he can’t take pressure in his chest.

Posted December 29, 2013 1:27 am

Adrian

I am not surprised to read naive comment from regular boxing fans in here but when I hear what trainers say I get really shocked to see his naive they sound …

Listen khan dosent have the best chin in the world but he can take a punch but his problem is his pride and the Prescott loss really ruined him because since then he took fights with biggest punchers like Maidana and Garcia to prove that he can take a punch and traded with them when he got hurt and that’s stupid but make no mistake about it that khan is a superb boxer who is very fast and against pure boxers he shines ( Judah) …so for me khan would be the toughest opponent for mayweather outside paqiao and Thurman !
Those who really know boxing know what I am talking about .

So I consider khan a live opponent with a good chance against mayweather and if mayweather gives khan a chance and win I will praise him for that ! I am no sredmond or peej I give credit where credit is due …

Posted December 29, 2013 1:11 am

Boxingpedia

More than amazing recovery powers Khan has amazing ability to get hit, even when the opponent throw a punch with his eyes closed. Khan used to perform at his best when facing good boxers like Kotelnik, Malignaggi and Judah but that is in the past, the present Khan can not even perform against the likes of Julio Diaz. Floyd stated that he wanted to face a solid fighter and there are only 3 at welterweight, Pacquio, Bradley and Maidana. Khan is a jr welterweight in decline, Thurman and Porter haven’t been tested yet. Only Mayweather’s and Khan’s fans would approve such boxing travesty.

PPV should be for exceptional fights that pit the extreme best again the extreme best, not for staging exhibition fights such as Floyd/khan, Floyd/Guerrero, Floyd/ortiz. There’s no redeeming value in paying so much money and receiving so little. PPV has hit rock bottom being accomplices in staging these types of short comings and over valued shenanigans.

I don’t think Khan has amazing recovery powers. That’s pure spin.

Who has he fought since Garcia who’s a good finisher??? NOBODY. So Julio Diaz drops you and you recover … Who doesn’t who’s ranked top 20?

Boxtradamus

A WISE man once told ME that prevention is GREATER than a CURE. Therefore not getting hit or knocked down is GREATER than recovering from getting hit or knocked down. SO Mayweather is GREATER than Khan. Mayweather has shown that he has GREAT recovery SKILLS TOO. But he’s smart enough to KNOW that recovering is LESSER than not needing to recover. Thats why he brought Floyd Sr. back and he hasn’t had to recover SINCE.

Posted December 28, 2013 8:00 pm

Khan does have amazing recovery powers, he is just far to easy to hit clean.

And I SEE why Hunter wants to sell this Fight. It will probably be HIS biggest payday TOO….Khan has NO one punch KO power and Floyd RARELY gets hit with a combination. In FACT his opponents land LESS than one punch for every 5 thrown. WOW!!!! No wonder everyone falls to sleep or walks out. There’s no backand forth ACTION in a Floyd Fight. Its always ONE sided. 45 Fights and the guy hasn’t even been dropped!! That is VERY impressive. Ward and Rigondeaux agree with ME on that as they are the closest to Mayweather but even THEY can’t match it. WOW!!!

I SAID it long AGO and I say it AGAIN. Floyd by British BULLDOGG-ED stoppage. Floyd is already used to dealing with 170 lbers now. He’s been sparring with them for 2 straight training camps preparing for Alvarez. Now he’s facing a WEAK WW. EASY Fight to predict. And I THANK Floyd for giving MY record an EASY boost.

I think Khan may just beat Floyd! He may also just get knocked out but either way this is a good fighy in my book and represent s a different challenge for floyd compared to what he’s been fed recent ly

Mayweather only goes for the KO if the coast is clear. Khan does hit hard and has a long reach. However, I can’t see Khan doing much better than Alvarez. Maybe one round and that’s about it. I see a total mismatch.

People think Khan will make it interesting for 5 or 6 rounds with Mayweather.. This is a fantasy..

Floyd is too strong for Khan. His jab is too good. He feints and left hook leads are too masterful for Amir, as are his right leads. Once he walks Amir down he’ll take his body out…

Floyd wants the fight. He knows it will showcase all his skills…

All the promos will highlight Amir’s speed and his stoppages of Malignaggi and Judah… The buildup commercials might even show Judah flooring Floyd — to create more a false impression that Amir has the right “style” for Floyd. They’ll interview experts who’ll say, “Styles make fight. Floyd has never faced this kind of blazing speed before… blah…blah..blah.” But Amir is the easiest guy out there for Floyd.

The toughest are Lara… Garcia… and Pacquiao… They not only have speed—but defensive skills, punching power, infighting ability, durability, and craft… They would all cream Khan in a couple rounds.

Hunter wants that payday but he knows Khan don’t have a chance. At least Pacquiao beat up Rios, man barely got past Diaz

Khan doesnt have a glass chin. But its not made out of steel either. Regardless I’d still pic Mayweather to stop him.

Posted December 28, 2013 3:10 pm

FEARS

I have always said that a Khan/Mayweather fight would be very interesting for 5-6 rounds due to Khan’s hand speed, range and combination punching, that is until Floyd figures him out and starts to walk him down. I have no problems with this fight being made. Khan is definitely a tougher challenge than Guerrero ever had to offer!

At least Khan could win a few early rounds,Maidana would just be potshot fodder for Floyd. It would present some intrigue in how Floyd’s skills would cope with Khans speed. When was the last time Floyd faced a speedster? I’d prefer to see Floyd fight Garcia or someone that could potentially cause Floyd some issues,no matter how minor.Maidana is not fast enough nor does he have sufficient power at 147 to trouble Floyd.I think Provodnikov would be more dangerous. If Manny can beat a top 147 guy then maybe it would get fans up for it.On reflection,Khan is not as bad a choice as some think.Whoever Floyd fights next, chances are most fans will be underwhelmed,as there’s nobody at 147 or 154 to test him.

Hunter has a point, and the writer is just another hater by the sounds of it as he wasnt dominated by Diaz after round 4 at all, and Diaz had just came off a draw with the current unbeaten IBF Welterweight champ, Shawn Porter in a fight most had him winning, Khan clearly won the fight nowhere near his best as he was in transition with his new trainer and nearly everyone to a man agreed with the decision on the night, so it was not controversial. Your description of the Maidana fight is also laughable, He recovered very well and came back effectively late in the 11th and then arguably won the 12th, It just confirms what i 1st thought tbh, yet another hater, I would love to know what exactly it is about Khan that brings him so many haters. I suppose if he wasnt doing something right then he wouldnt have so many but whether its a US/UK thing or a Muslim thing im not quite sure.

Khan is no Mariusz Wach when it comes to absorbing punishment.

To me, the most backhanded compliment you can pay a fighter is, “He gets knocked down a lot but gets back up a lot too.” or “He gets hurt a lot but his recuperative powers are amazing.”

It’s a little like LA Times sportswriter Jim Murray used to say about Chuck Wepner… “Chuck may be slow, but he can’t punch.”

Serious

The whole world saw khan eating clean shots after clean shots by third rate sparring partners before he ate some serious leather vs Danny Garcia a little while back. This kid will either finish in a body bag or one of those homes for old timers who can’t even remember their addresses. Only thing going for him is he has had nearly one years rest from eating punches.

Posted December 28, 2013 12:29 pm

Anonymous

He will only recuperate enough to enjoy his retirement years with pugilistic brain damage due to the amount of clean, concussive shots he has taken since facing Maidana and engaging in do-or-die sparring sessions at the Wild Card gymnasium.
If he and his team think that by taking hard shots to the head is the key to winning boxing matches he is not the trainer I thought he was.
