“Why would Burns fight outside the uk? He makes plenty money at home and is the champ. Ward doesn’t.” – True. Burns sells out stadiums Ward fights in front of half empty stadiums. Of course it’s only BoxRetard asking that question.

Burns will win, Crawford will lose like Broner, you need to be aware of Burns, he did lose his last fight on points, he had a broken jaw, that is why he lost, could not fight with that, got the dodgy decision, but it wasn’t him who scored the points, it was the judges..

Crawford should do burns inside 8 rounds, Crawford is really a solid fighter and in my opinion a rising star in the sport.

“Crawford has been in the ring with fighters better than Burns. ” – Nonsense. Or perhaps you could name one?

“BURNS is finished move on.”

Burns is the world champion. He’s not finished you dumbazz. Trying to think before you write a comment you dumbazz.

“This could go either way.”

No it won’t, Burns will get a boxing lesson, this will be a stoppage. Crawford is far better than anyone Burns has ever faced and in contrast Crawford has been in the ring with fighters better than Burns.

Crawford, by stoppage. Easy to see.

Ill take Crawford in this one. I think he is gonna do some big things in the sport.

The reason people pick on Ward is because the rules of the Super 6 stated that each fighter would alternate a home and away format, Ward CHEATED and didnt play by the rules all other fighters did. Had Burns done the same in a Lightweight Super 6, he would be deserving of the same criticism.

Why would Burns fight outside the uk? He makes plenty money at home and is the champ. Ward doesn’t.

Prof Konje

Has Burns ever fought outside of Scotland or Great Britain?

Posted December 31, 2013 2:31 am

Boxtradamus

WHERE are the guys that always clamor for the CHAMP to leave his castle??? Why aren’t they telling Burns to leave home???? Because he’s not Andre Ward. That’s why.

Crawford will be well aware of the home town decision, even the UK fight fans were disgusted by Beltran getting robbed in Glasgow. Didn’t you hear the crowd booing the result? Genuine fight fans all over the world want fair decisions no matter what. I don’t expect Burns to last the distance with Crawford. This will be a stoppage. Burns is brave, but he’s not anywhere near as good as Crawford. This fight won’t go the distance. Crawford by TKO.

i like both fighters but i think crawford is on the rise.12 round dec. for crawford. oh that’s right,it’s in glasgow.burns by another controversial dec.

Crawford for the WIN. And I’ll be smoking MY Victory Cigar afterwards.

beltran might not be the most skillful fighter but he solid all around tho he does everything well in there he strong he can punch he got a good chin he can counter punch he cuts the ring off very well and he close distance very well he got good technique he does alot of things very well in there

Posted December 30, 2013 9:54 pm

big head

yeah that true he more skilled but beltran is more experience fighting better competions he more battle tested crawdford with all his skills never been tested yet never been to adversity yet till we see him go through that then we idk how good he can be i think beltran will be crawford hardest fight of course u got other fighters in the weight claas to

This would be a good fight for as long as it lasts.

I agree. Crawford would have more problems with Beltran, BUT … Crawford is far more skillful than Beltran. Crawford is the best lightweight in the world but yet to hold that title.

Posted December 30, 2013 9:17 pm

big head

i think ray beltran will be a tougher fight for crawford then ricky burns is in my opinion i think beltran will give anybody at lightweight a run for there money even crawford i never seen anybody have a easy time with beltran

Mr Gav

Type Terence Crawford’s name into youtube there’s plenty of footage of him. Then after that type in Pernell Whitaker who was one of the best in recent times. Terence Crawford is similar in style to Whitaker. A brilliant boxer way better than Burns.

People kept going on about Adrien ‘Problem Solved’ Broner and all the time I’m sat there thinking Broner ducked Crawford by moving up in weight. Crawford is a brilliant boxer and is improving all the time, he could be the next superstar in boxing. If Broner ever meets Crawford in the ring Broner will get beat again.

Burns stands no chance of beating Crawford. He thought Beltran was tough? Crawford is MUCH better than Beltran.

Take a look on youtube Gav. Crawford is seriously good.

Posted December 30, 2013 7:33 pm

WHAT!?!

I’ve been a fan of Burns for a while now, but I think Crawford might be too good in this one. Still, I’ll be cheering for Burns regardless, he does seem to rise to the occasion and he needs to wipe that last dodgy performance out of everyones mind.

Nice fight here. Have always liked Burns but think Crawford is too slick for him. BTW is Burns still hitting the drum n bass parties in London? Fun events but way too decadent and drugs are widespread there.

Posted December 30, 2013 6:44 pm

Mr Gav

I’ve never seen Crawford fight but what I have herd about him I think Burns is in for a very hard time, burns head wasn’t in the last fight think something to do with personal problems and when his jaw broke so early it all went wrong. For Beltran he can’t finish of a guy who’s jaw is broken for ten rounds. On paper it looks like burns will loose and I’ll go with that too

Jim

You haven’t got a clue.

Crawford will take Burns apart. It won’t even be close. Crawford is several levels above Burns. If Burns is lucky enough to get to the 12th round, and I bet that doesn’t happen, he will lose on points convincingly. But my bet would be Crawford giving Burns and boxing lesson and the fight will be stopped. Crawford is miles better than Burns.

Posted December 30, 2013 6:43 pm

crawford going to have to take chances in this fight and risk he cant be safety first he going to have to control this fight from round 1 to round 12 if it go that far he got to control the pace whoever can control the pace of this fight proably going to win it it all about who can gain control i still think crawford will win but i have my concerns to cause he fighting out there burns is more experience he got the better resume he got the hometown advantage so i dont think it be easy for crawford it dont matter where they was fighting at but crawford seem special tho i can see him outboxing burns if gonzales was outboxing him just imagin what crawford will do but crawford is more tougher then gonzales more heart

Posted December 30, 2013 6:35 pm

Jim

Won’t need the judges Burns by knockout early, Burns will be too strong and walk through him.

Posted December 30, 2013 5:47 pm

Hec Dog

Terence Crawford will beat Burns fairly easily, but he’s got to be careful with the judging. Burns is a bigger name, and there’s plenty of Burns backers and fans down that way. Crawford has to dominate very, very convincingly.

Freddie Roach Ate My Hamster

The article was going so well until the revisionist nonsense about Gonzalez and Bertrand being a step up. Katsidis is by far the best opponent Burns has fought. The disappointment about the sub-par performances against Gonzalez & Bertran was because they weren’t highly ranked or rated (Bertran only got a high ranking due to the performance against Burns). Although I reckon Bertran was robbed, he should’ve finished Burns off & you have to give the guy credit for fighting on with a broken jaw for 9.5 rounds. I’m not sure if he’ll have the confidence or punch resistance to beat Crawford, who looks a real prospect (but hasn’t fought anyone at this level yet).
