I like Provodnikov, he’s a tremendous fighter that comes at you. Mentally and physically tough. Forget the new trainer, it’s not going to help him if he ever fights the legendary Manny Pacquiao. he will go the same way as Ricky Hatton. Manny is simply to good and would hurt his former sparring partner. Let’s hope this fight never takes place. Manny and Provodnikov are good fiends. A good friendship is worth more than any amount of money.Posted January 1, 2014 1:03 pm
Although I like Pacs/Provo match up, April 12 is not the good date for Provo, don’t have enough time to change the trainer and adopt the new training method, November is the good date and they can start the hype now, find a trainer that don’t like Roach, I hate friendly fight.Posted January 1, 2014 11:36 am
Just a boxing fan
Agree with Peej. Prov deserves any fight he can get. He is IMO better than Rios and spars with MP so he has a good chance of winning. However, I still think MP wins by TKO or UD. MP just too fast and has power on both hands. If weak handed Bradley cut-up Prov, imagine what MP can do.
FM and MP has to fight next. BOYCOTT both fighter’s unless they fight each other.Posted January 1, 2014 10:08 am
Kostya tszyu was from serov Russia and fought for Australia not KazakhstanPosted January 1, 2014 5:43 am
Ruslan looks like he is from Teller alaska.Posted January 1, 2014 12:10 am
Both fighters european?
“Canelo wasn’t weight drained. He said the weight didn’t bother him at all.”
Peej, Canelo looked like a blanched almond at the weigh-in for his fight with Mayweather. He was also very vocal about the fight being a catchweight fight. On an episode of 24/7 he angrily said that it was Mayweather’s team–not his–that asked for the catchweight. Canelo wanted the fight so he consented to a catchweight. But he wasn’t happy about it.
BTW, do you have a link to a direct quote in which Canelo says the catchweight “didn’t bother him at all?”Posted December 31, 2013 7:43 pm
Ruslan is another nobody and he fought nobodies aside from the he is managed by top rank and Floyd was won titles in five different division and scared of everyone including his ow shadow lol….Posted December 31, 2013 7:38 pm
Floyd avoids a ruslan. pac would not.Posted December 31, 2013 7:22 pm
I did have Pac winning the first fight with Bradley but he never dominated him Manny has yet to beat a pure boxer yes. Bradley issue is he has all the heart on the world and he wont quite but he has no punching power let alone KO power. Otherwise he would have got manny out of there, Manny lost his power all together he is certainly not the same fighter that KOed Oscar, Cotto and Margecheato, I think Manny will loose again in 2014 either to Bradley or Ruslan, you can forget about a Floyd bout….Posted December 31, 2013 6:48 pm
The Pinoy Pikey
Bradley rematch first and foremost–that is the only fight that make logical sequence sense!Posted December 31, 2013 6:01 pm
Pac needs to rematch Bradley plain and simple. If he thinks he won then he needs to prove it. He struggles against boxers which Bradley is. Besides Marquez who some think won every fight, not me, but some do he has yet to really beat a true boxer.Posted December 31, 2013 5:38 pm
Both Golovkin and Provodnikov are Europeans. Provodnikov has the power, but not the defensive smoothness or attacking ability of Golovkin. He doesn’t have as extensive an amateur background and has crude skills. He’s somewhat like Rios but smarter and with better boxing ability. When he hurt Alvarado he took his time and used his jab. He knew he was in control and kept Alvarado on the hook.
It’s a good fight for Pacquaio. It would create separation between Pac and Bradley without having to rematch him. Pac could score a shutout. Of course, anytime you fight somebody who can punch as hard as Provo it’s risky. But that also means more fans will watch than the Rios fight.Posted December 31, 2013 5:25 pm
All action fight, money would still be on Manny.Posted December 31, 2013 4:06 pm

FLOYD MAYWEATHER = JACK JOHNSON !!!!! ~ Same Racist HATE !!Posted December 31, 2013 1:11 pm
Canelo wasn’t weight drained. He said the weight didn’t bother him at all. Ruslan wasn’t robbed against Bradley. It was a close fight. If he wouldn’t of pushed Bradley down for the first knockdown he would of won because Bradley would of fell on his own. It was a very close fight though. Ruslan has a decent resume and deserves any fight he gets.Posted December 31, 2013 12:33 pm
What has floyd done lately but fight two scrubs and a weight drained Canelo. So much for a fighter who labels himself ATG. Depending on who he fights will also dictate what his ppv numbers add up to.Posted December 31, 2013 12:01 pm
For anyone to say Ruslan hasn’t fought anyone, it can be said quite convincingly of that person that they are but a neophyte. Ruslan was robbed against Bradley and got his title belt from Alvarado, a fighter who Khan would never have the cojones to face. To Ruslan’s credit, in his two biggest fights….he has come out ahead, while Con gets KO’d by journeyman Prescott.Posted December 31, 2013 11:58 am
Me either. Especially since Pac has already had his egg cracked recently!Posted December 31, 2013 11:34 am
Not so sure Pac can take the punishment from Ruslan.Posted December 31, 2013 10:52 am
It could be a career ending fight for both. I can see 2 damaged and shopworn fighters if this bout occurs. They will dish huge punishment out on eachother!Posted December 31, 2013 10:17 am
Who will train him if he fights Pac?Posted December 31, 2013 10:14 am
Who cares Ruslan is a nobody who fought nobodies and he is with Top rank that ensures he will be a failure having to only fight Bradley or Manny he will never get a shot at the title…Posted December 31, 2013 4:14 am
Provo tougher fight than Mayweather. Provo can hurt you and throw combinations. He is a warrior. Some one has to teach Mayweather how to throw more than one punch at a time and not hold on like his life depended on it if he stands a chance to beat Pac.How can they call Floyd the best ever if he cant string together more than 1 or 2 punch combos?Posted December 31, 2013 2:21 am
“Doctramental?” Obliviously you are a man of extinction.:)Posted December 31, 2013 1:46 am
I Had to laugh I seen a doctramental special tv that had American company building a dam in Russia right here where the population are Korean and Russian , tough old people
I think Provo would get busted up by pac, but he would land more than Rios was able to. The fight would not be good for Pac win or lose…Posted December 31, 2013 12:53 am
Agua, I believe you’re right about Provodnikov having Genghis Khan heritage. Provo’s a warrior, can you imagine facing a horde of those guys on horse back?Posted December 31, 2013 12:52 am
Would be a fun fight to watch. I figure it’ll be a far more exciting version of Pacquiao-Rios where Pac is forced to work a lot harder to get the win (i.e. Prov is much better than Rios at closing distance and letting his hands go), though Pac should still win pretty handily.Posted December 31, 2013 12:49 am
Prov, the Russian has the same face as GGG. and GGG has a Korean mother and Russian father, I think this is where or that country where old centuries ago “Genghis con” that most fear warrior that terrorist the whole region came from, these were part Asian part Russian warriors remember the super huge twin barbarians wrestlers a while back from Russia? These Asian Russian and the “Turks” India and Russian are also bad fighting warriors. Size and speed and super tough. LOLPosted December 31, 2013 12:44 am
You guys are looking at this from the fan perspective what you have to see is Pacs predicament. Pac needs money he is in a tight spot at this point in time. Big fight that would help him is Mayweather but we want see that until 2015. In the mean time Pac needs money and he can’t take a risky fight where he can be injured or beaten. Pac knows he want make what he needs but at this stage until the Mayweather golden parachute arrives Pac is in a tough spot.Posted December 31, 2013 12:33 am
No one cares about seeing Ruslan fight Manny who is his old sparring partner or Bradley at this point bring on some real fighters, Floyd Garcia, or Maidana stop this madness….Posted December 30, 2013 11:59 pm
Provo is dangerous. Manny should take care of Bradley first.Posted December 30, 2013 11:50 pm
I too would rather see Pacquiao fight Bradley than Provodnikov at this point. While I think Pacquiao would beat Provo, the fact is Provo would add more wear and tear on Manny, and could quite possibly hurt him… No let Manny fight Bradley and Mayweather…Posted December 30, 2013 11:24 pm
Ruslan will be another Brandon Rios in this fight. Yes he is rugged, yes a powerful guy, yes determined, yes he swells badly, Yes he blocks with his face. No his defence hasn’t improved, No he doesn’t use angels, No he doesn’t have the speed, No he doesn’t know how to fight a different style, No he doesn’t have the style to win this fight, No he can’t with stand the speed and power straights of Manny.
Ruslans defence improved since bradly. He showed it against Alvarado.Posted December 30, 2013 10:58 pm

Pac would beat Prov up.Posted December 30, 2013 10:26 pm
BTW Hec Dog, I also think Pac would beat Prov up.Posted December 30, 2013 9:39 pm
I wouldn’t want to see this fight happen yet. The best fight for Manny right now sans a bout with Floyd is a rematch with Timothy Bradley. Pac has had some very hard fights in his career and he’s taken a lot of heavy blows. A rematch with Bradley would be a good fight and would give Pac the opportunity to show the world he really can beat Bradley convincingly. Save the brawls for later on.Posted December 30, 2013 9:39 pm
Manny needs money, he has to keep fighting….what about fighting Khan, Maidana or Devon Alexander?Posted December 30, 2013 9:19 pm
- NOW THAT, I wouldnt mind seeing either…..Posted December 30, 2013 9:18 pm
Everyone keeps saying retire you have nothing to prove, or your washed up, or cause Arum will not make a certain fight. This is about making money and if it not the one that can be made or the one you think should fight who then you live in la la land. it’s about making money, if you retire you can no longer make money.Posted December 30, 2013 9:14 pm
Who wouldnt mind seeing Khan vs Provo, that would be an entertaining round lol..Posted December 30, 2013 9:03 pm
How does Provo get a shot at Manny? by beat Alvarado and looking good in losing to Bradley? There are atleast 5 or 6 fights I wouldnt mind seeing Provo in that dont include Pac. Pac only has 2 fights left Bradley and Floyd. Manny really needs to lose Arum.Posted December 30, 2013 9:02 pm

If Bob Arum won’t die … and Bob Arum won’t work with Golden Boy … then Manny Pacquiao should have retired after the Marquez knockout.
Provodnikov is dangerous.
What kind of legacy would Manny Pacquiao have if he gets knocked out cold — AGAIN — although this time to some guy that nobody can say his name?
Other than fanatic boxing fans, nobody knows who Provodnikov is, where he comes from, how to spell his name, how to say his name.
It doesn’t make any sense for Manny Pacquiao to take a huge chance in fight a guy — that is this tough and this dangerous — and nobody knows who is this guy.
He might have well retired. Or — he should fire Bob Arum and get lots of great fights from Golden Boy. This is a bad idea for Manny.Posted December 30, 2013 8:41 pm
Nooooooooooooo…Manny should only go for Mayweather or retired. He is too old for everyonePosted December 30, 2013 8:34 pm
PS: If you are aggressive with Pac, on your front foot, you are tailor made for him. You have to lure Pac into a trap, be fast yourself and be able to take a punch like Marquez. Floydie can beat Pac too, however he tends to stand sometimes in front of his opponents hands up, sometimes at the ropes, doing the shoulder role. The shoulder role with not work with Pac, too fast, in close distance too many different angles hitting with both hands. You have to trap Pac or keep him at distance; in distance Pac has only his straight left and would have no chance to beat May (from distance), but Provo can not do that, he is a come forward fighter and would be soundly beat by Pac…but it we an exciting fights with both of Provo’s eyes closed at the end of the fight…Posted December 30, 2013 8:17 pm
Prof Konje has no knowledge of boxing. Provo will lose against Pac. Pac is bouncing on fast legs, constantly moving. Provo will freeze in front of Pac when he gets hit, and he will hit with combinations over and over. Provo is no Marquez, and it took Marquez 41 rounds to time Pac and hit him flush (only because Pac was careless). Provo will fall victim. Provo has a better chance against Floydie…Posted December 30, 2013 8:10 pm
God knows why Manny is fighting this guy. An underrated tank of a boxer with KO power in both hands. Bad match up for Pacman.Posted December 30, 2013 8:01 pm
C J Ross
Manny on points; I don’t think he as willing to go for the finish these days. I think Prov would end up with a face like Margo did.Posted December 30, 2013 7:47 pm
Just another Top stink fight.Posted December 30, 2013 7:24 pm
This match up won’t even be considered. Why doesn’t Manny go and beat up Bradley again? Bradley is the last threatening fighter to be made for FMJ around the 147. Erase Bradley and the FMJ vs Pac fight might have to be forced.Posted December 30, 2013 7:11 pm
Fun fight for what it is. Could be a talent gap apparent in the 1st round just like with Rios though.Posted December 30, 2013 7:08 pm
I would like to see Provodnikov get the opportunity to fight (and beat) Pacquaio but Arum will not let this fight happen. Why? Because Provodnikov is too strong for Pacquaio and Arum still needs Pacquaio to make him some money. Once Arum is finished with Pacquaio (using him) then watch him be thrown in with guys like Provodnikov.Posted December 30, 2013 6:53 pm
Prov = Alvarado = Rios. What a legacy Pac has. He ducked Mayweather to fight Ruslan. What a joke. They knew they were fighting in April this whole time. Floyd was never a reality just more BS from Pac.Posted December 30, 2013 6:44 pm
LOL at the Bizarro pic ESB chose for this. Anyhow Provo vs Pac is a helluva rumble but I thought Bradley was almost a done deal.Posted December 30, 2013 6:41 pm
Once Pacquioa starts attacking Provodnikow’s face, you will see how fast his eyes will swell up and close up, rendering his power useless. Pacquioa’s punches leave damage and Provodnikov eyes are known to swell up A LOT.Posted December 30, 2013 6:34 pm
Would be a good action fight, Provodnikov is a good fighter, beat up Bradley, defense is underrated. Agreed, Pac would beat him, we would get our money’s worth. Bradley is a runner, however Pac vs. Bradley would be preferred. Time for Pac to get his revenge. I am very sure he would win this time. Bradley has not the power to hurt him (not like Marquez). Pac will go after him and he will land enough…Posted December 30, 2013 6:29 pm
Provdnikov is a sloth in the ring. Good power… but slow compared to Pacquioa. Another Rios beating in the making.Posted December 30, 2013 6:11 pm
Won’t happen.Posted December 30, 2013 6:06 pm
This fight won’t happen, just rumors nothing more. If by chance it does happen, Manny knocks out Provodnikov in stunning fashion. No need for this fight to hapeen. Both are friends.Posted December 30, 2013 5:56 pm
