BOXTRA, now RUN back to the mirror for a REALITY CHECK!! And then.. go back and CAREFULLY read/review YOUR comments. See for yourself how you gradually have been breaking down, flip-flopping and defensive. I’m serious BOXTRA!! Dead serious!! JUST DO IT!! I know that I’ve been a little hard on you and stuff but it’s true! To deny it is denying that ‘God didn’t make little green apples and it don’t rain in Indianapolis in the summer time…’ dude. Maybe you missed out on a few hugs during your formative years but it’s no reason to become an egotistical maniac and take it out on EBS posters, both the knowledgeable and the still growing novices. Now, you can’t say that I haven’t tried, correct? Now, respond CALMLY, hit the keyboard LIGHTLY, try humming a spiritual song like “Amazing Grace” or ” Oh, What A Beautiful Morning, Oh What A Beautiful Day” or “He’s Got The Whole World In His Hands” with some sincere emotion! Go on, JUST DO IT!! ….. Feel better?? You’re crying, aren’t you?? Aw BOXTRA, ya see, you are human after all. Well, mission accomplished!! Next!!!

hmmm… You’ll probably consider me EZ “The Nightmare” E from now on, right? Well, I love boxing, try talk TRUE boxing, and really don’t fancy to “know-it-all” Keyboard Bullies like yourself that attack and attempt to humble those that don’t that simply differ. Actually I should be through with you but… the entertainment is fairly good, easy work and I could use the exercise. You’re also ungrateful, yes indeed! You should thank me. If you don’t face your egotistical demons you’ll NEVER heal!! You’ll be someones PATSY all your life!! Don’t you care!! Does “fantasy” and “ego” mean that much to you?? I’m serious, I/we really wanna know. We’re reaching out to you, son! We “really” care!! LOL!!! Well, that’s enough for now. I wouldn’t want to RUN you off nor SCARE you away. Now go’on eat ANOTHER portion of Humble Pie that I’ve prepared for you. GOBBLE UP!! Don’y worry, I have plenty more waiting for you if you decide you want some’mo. Always have, ALWAYS will!! And by the way, yes Patsy, I’m LMAO@YOU! And as the saying goes, THAT’S ENTERTAINMENT!!

Look at yourself, Patsy. Yes, before you continue to read read this go stand in front of your mirror. Look at yourself!! You’ve now gone beyond desperate. You’re struggling to save face! Now it’s all about “diverting”?? Excuse me while I LMAO@YOU!! Look Patsy (is alright to call you “Patsy” from now on? “DIVERTING”?? Whether Martinez whips, beats, knocks out Cotto has NEVER been the issue. YOU’VE been EXPOSED and obviously DESPERATE!! It’s been based on you and your comments. Go back a review YOUR comments. I’ve had you ON THE RUN for the last couple of days, just s before. You sound/look like a basketball game, you’re all about “DEFENSE!!” “DEFENSE!!” “DEFENSE” I’m like the INVASION of NORMANDY!! You’ve been rendered completely DEFENSE-LESS!! It’s over Patsy. I see that it’s best that you can do, huh?? You can’t even convince YOURSELF anymore!! I hope you’re not suicidal. By the way IF I had NO Boxing points to make I’d probably DO a comedy skit TOO. Talking about somebody is MY hoe this that and the other LOL. NICE comedy skit but you’re on the wrong site. Go get you some popcorn and take that skit to comedycentral.com where the JOKERS like YOURSELF convene. Over HERE we make Boxing points and you just don’t stack UP. Thats why you can only reply with more comedy relief. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA . I DO enjoy the laugh though. Martinez by MERCIFUL stoppage. Tell your buddies to laugh at THAT.

LMFAOOOOOO!!!! NICE diversion tactics MY pupil. But focusing on ME and laughing at ME does not change the FACTS about Boxing. The FACT is that Cotto is opting for LESSER opponents than Pacquiao and Mayweather. Not because of weight, because of LACK of confidence. Talk about EXPOSE. Just as Mosley RAN from 147 after Mayweather and Pac SPANKED him Cotto followed SUIT. Except Cotto is running all the way UP to MW. Turning down rematches with Pac and Mayweather in the process….I DO give Cotto credit for giving a GOOD account for himself in those Fights by busting Mayweather’s nose and Pacquiao’s eardrum but he couldn’t get the WIN. SO he wants to take on Fights that are more WINNABLE for him but like he DID vs Trout he has miscalculated again. Trying to change the focus on ME and laughing at ME is amusing but the FACTS still remain after your last chuckle.

Am I supposed to believe your “I googled” excuse? Man, you’re stooping to way, way, way low now. I HAVE to tell the fellas about this. I’m glad you sent this so they can see it for themselves. Your stupidity is giving you a BIGGER reputation and it aint about predicting. You’re one sick puppy!! You need a support group like LIARS ANONYMOUS. Now you come with that 24hour site to back up your AKYZZA site??. ahhh… How much ink has that “hot item” 14 mil “offer” gotten?? They dropped it because they KNOW that your/their “Uncle Roger said this” wasn’t gonna get anyone to believe it, only “profits” like you! Like I said, if it had a drop of truth to it EVERY creditable boxing site would’ve STILL been running with it. FOURTEEN MIL?? Man, it would’ve been on ABC, NBC, CNN, ESPN…. It’s trash, but you’ll look in ANY trash bin in you feeble attempt to look and feel good about yourself or to get some attention, NEGATIVE attention will do as long as it’s attention. All the traits of a lonely, complexed and disturbed individual. You probably hate and are dis-satisfied with yourself. There no other explanation. You want people criticize you because your sick mind will turn & twist it into “It’s all about jealousy”!!
Oh well, I should feel sorry for you, we ALL should. Sorry BOXTRA, but being EXPOSED is the best remedy. You can’t heal until you accept the truth. Later chum. Let me know when come out of rehab. Adios!!

LMFAO. You’re SO FOOLISH. I only googled that site the other day but that’s not where I originally read it which shows that more than one site posted it… I just posted a link to show YOU that I didn’t make UP anything. I tell the TRUTH… I keep UP with Boxing on a daily basis and I remembered reading where Cotto turned down the Mayweather rematch. And he also turned down the Pacquiao rematch. SO the FACT remains that Cotto has opted to take on LESSER opposition rather than BETTER competition. …now that I think about it I originally read the article on Boxingnews24

boxingnews24.com/2012/06/roger-mayweather-opens-up-on-twitter/

But we all know that you’ll find a way to discredit them TOO. LOL

No matter what you DO or SAY the FACT IS that Cotto is taking on LESSER opponents when he can basically face WHOEVER he wants since he’s the 3rd biggest draw in Boxing. He’s moving UP to MW not out of necessity he’s doing it to get away from Mayweather. Laughing and JOKING does not change the FACT.

What are you going to say now??? Cotto can’t make 154 now either??? LMFAO

Again Martinez by MERCIFUL stoppage.

BOXTRA Needless to say that your “reliable” source is by far the most insignificant “site” on the whole internet. Yes, YOUR “site” ‘AKYZZA” calls it’s own self “The FANTASY GLOVE” of boxing. It’s especially made for “fans” such as YOU!! Yes, basically foe NOVICES!! Go back, check it out, they’ve had about FIVE feedback comments in OVER a year on ALL their combined FANTASY GLOVE boxing articles during that. Feel fre to count them for yourself!! One of their most RECENT articles are the Rios vs Alvarado and Broner vs Escobedo fights. They ran a “Roger Mayweather said this” quote and they and YOU fell for it. How many readers believed and commented on it? (drum roll..) A grand total of TWO!! One of which was probably YOU using an alias. Was it that site that gave you you “Fight Profit” credentials?? LOL!! Hasn’t even dawned on you that the more creditable sites and sources never even DARED to waste their times and CREDIBILITY on such a “HOT” topic?? But.. YOU fell for it, hook, line and ahhh.. STINKER? LOL!! So this is how you “enrich” your boxing “mentality”, huh? Well, this explains it all. Go back to your self proclaimed ‘Fantasy Glove’ boxing “site”, see what else is “news” and “enlighten” us all. LOLOLOL!!!! NEXT!!

BOXTRA Look, I KNOW what link you’re referring to and TOTALLY disregarded it. Pure hearsay!! That’s the difference between with YOU and FACTS, you believe anything you read. Yesterday, when I first saw your worthless bogus link I contacted an ACTIVE and member of team Cotto. He told me that if that were true it would’ve been SPLATTERED all over the media, boxing sites, not to mention the LOCAL press. Cotto’s ex-assistant trainer and personal friend Joe Santiago, said basically the SAME thing. Pure trash!! If you have any problems believing me contact Island sportswriter Marcos Perez. Google it, I you wish to check out my facts about this topic. Bring to the table something more tangible with a bit of credibility, dude. especially when you’re debating boxing with me. You probably believe everything Arum and GBP say to to the media as well. And you “know” boxing?? LOL!! I was once told by promoter Lou DeBella: The first thing about promoters you must understand about promoters and (and their PR reps) is that they LIE 90% of the time and sleep the other 10%” Funny, I was told basically that same thing back in the 80s by Island promoter/manager Jose “Pepe” Cordero, who’s stable I once belonged to and later worked for. He handled and guided the careers of ex-world champs Angel Espada, Sammy Serrano, Esteban DeJesus, Victor Callejas, Julian Solis, Bernardo Pinago, Ernesto Espana… and over a dozen of title challengers and countless contenders. Johnny Bos (remember him?) also said something similar to that. Well BOXTRA, this will end your class, Boxing 101, for today. I should charge you but… I enjoy teaching and learning, too. You should try it. Later!

ahhhh… Ever hear of a little first hand knowledge and inside info?? Try obtaining some from time to time. Call me and enrich your insight and knowledge of the sport and quite possibly you can enrich mine. Unlike “some” folks, I’m willing to admit that I don’t know it all. Request my Cel # or email, I’ll openly and honestly give it to you right here on ESB, I have nothing to hide. Boxing folks from all over contact me regularly, we exchange opinions, argue, discuss diverse views of the sport. managers ask me about my outlook on certain potential opponents, strategize with other trainers, or just socialize, ‘shoot the breeze’ about boxing gossip & rumors, it’s all good. Or would you rather read “THE INQUIRER”?? Do they have a sports section? I honestly wouldn’t know. Anyway, the HONEST offer still stands. You might be surprised. Peace!

Although I might be wasting my time, but I feel that it’s my Christian duty to ‘pop you bubble’ every now & then to keep as sane as possible & to let you know that there’s a REAL world out there. You should THANK me but.. that word isn’t part of your repertoire, vocabulary or diction. Maybe you should call the ‘Big Brother/Big Sisters of America’ organization for some volunteer mentoring support and assistance. I’ll even lend a hand in your quest for recovery and re-enter society with a re-structured level head. Tell them EZ sent you!! Thanks BOXTRA, for being my personal vehicle in performing another good deed and allowing me to make this world a better place. This is actually OLD news as all this happened while Floyd was in prison. Its clear that YOU don’t follow Boxing as close as I DO but don’t be ashamed of that because not TOO many people DO. Cotto is a GOOD Fighter but he doesn’t like to LOSE and he SHOULDN’T. ..Thats why he took Trout over the rematch with Floyd and the rematch with Pacq uiao but he miscalculated and still LOST. He thinks he’s going to catch a rusty Martinez but he’s miscalculating there TOO. He’s going to get SPANKED. Martinez is still Top 10 P4P material and Cotto ISN’T. Martinez by MERCIFUL stoppage.

Or.. you’re a compulsive liar and will resort to anything and stoop really low to hype your ego. Get some help, call Liars Anonymous, your Pastor, guru, Priest, Reverend, Ayatollah, Minister, consult your Ouija board, Witch Doctor, Voodoo doll, Barbie doll, Rabbit’s foot, bartender, dope connection, barber, psychologist, therapist, psychoanalysis, neurologist, veterinarian, private eye, social worker, prostitute, loan shark, numbers runner… whatever it takes. I’d hate to think that you’re a lost cause. Anybody that believes half the stuff you say has be a bigger buffoon than you. Please stop making half YOUR stuff up and I suggest you needn’t attempt to tell me about the boxing scene on our Island. You’re making yourself look even worse. You don’t have a clue. Stay humble, chill, kick back.. I know you can’t handle adversity nor being wrong but it’s not the end of the world, keep it together, it’s okay, dude. Take three deep breaths and say, “Nobody’s perfect, not even me” Again.. “Nobody’s perfect, not even me” One more time, BOXTRA… go ahead, you won’t die, I promise…. Feel better already?? No?? EZ E-Well its a GOOD thing that I’ve never needed to FOOL anyone. I am the GREATEST Picker of WINNERS when it comes to Boxing matches. I’m pretty GOOD at picking American Football WINNERS TOO but I don’t brag about that HERE. Just banked $2500 off MY SKILLS….BACK to MY point. Cotto moved UP because he couldn’t SEE the light at Welter with Floyd and Pac there SO he moved UP. He may have fooled YOU and HIMSELF into thinking that he couldn’t make 147 anymore but he didn’t fool ME. He wanted LESSER competition SO he moved UP. Just as he doesn’t want to rematch Floyd at 154 even though he was offered 15 mil for a rematch. Not because he can’t make 154. Its because he wants LESS competition. Thats why he took the Trout Fight for half of what he was offered vs Floyd and he’s taking Martinez because he’s more beatable than Floyd. He can fool his FRIENDS but he can’t fool a guy on the OUTSIDE looking IN…learn how to step outside the circle SO that you can get a CLEARER view.

EZ E, “Maybe [Cotto] feels Martinez is . . . less dangerous” is Correct. it also answers your question about who Canelo’s preferred next opponent was. Btw, Kirkland also rejected an offer from Canelo before he defeated Trout. seems to me that every jr. middle is carefully avoiding Canelo except for Angulo. as you say, his negotiating hand isn’t too strong coming off of a loss in which he displayed all the fluidity of the Tin Man. i watched it live and thought out loud that he was stinking up the joint despite decking Lara twice, which only reinforced my opinion of Lara as being an overrated hype-job benefiting from the Cuban mystyique that has yet to be realized by any pro Cuban boxer. anyway, challenging Cotto and Kirkland, defeating Trout, then challenging Mayweather is among the most ambitious matchmaking profiles of 2013. Recognize. it’s the factual response to any hint that Canelo isn’t challenging the most prominent fighters in his division. he has and they continue to play it safe like Cotto, which is good for his health but bad for bu$iness . . . Paz to EZ E.

TUMBO Q-VO!! Yes, I know about the offer, who doesn’t? Although Cotto is a free agent he seems to be comfortable working with Arum. Maybe he feels Martinez is the right direction to go right now or less dangerous. Could it be that he believes he will be in a better position to bargain & negotiate his remaining few fights if he wins. Is winning a 4th title really that important to him? “Under a rock”?? hmmm… Remember, way BEFORE the GBP offer was made Cotto had already made it PUBLICLY known that his PRIORITY was Martinez and a 4th title, right? Anyway, I just found out that officially Canelo’s next opponent will be Angulo, who STILL happens to be one of my favorites, regardless of his losses. Now, getting back to Cotto & Canelo. Oscar’s offer is supposedly 10 mil which means that Cotto would probably be making MORE than Canelo, right?? Now, I’ll admit that it’s the best offer Miguel has going for him but.. at the same time Canelo doesn’t have a better offer anywhere else either. The word going around is that Cotto will make about a guaranteed 5 mil vs Martinez. Would Canelo be making as much if he fought Martinez? I don’t think so but what’s your opinion? Besides Cotto which VIABLE opponent would bring Canelo a 5 mil purse? Angulo? Wouldn’t Canelo make more fighting a guy like Lara than Angulo? Even Kirkland, Angulo’s conqueror, would bring him more than Angulo. Why Angulo? Is it because Angulo is coming off a loss and looked bad previously to that one and obviously on a slide? Less risky?? Either way, will be looking forward to it. Oh well TUMBO, al’rrato, carnal, PAZ!!

BOXTRA No, it’s not about not wanting to make the weight, he simply can’t and be able to perform, he’d be gutted before it started. You don’t know what you’re talking about. You ASS-suming again trying to look like what most certainly aren’t. Look man, he can’t, accept it, you’re getting first hand info, you should be thankful but you’re too pridefully foolish and full of yourself and some. BOXTRA you can fool some people some of the time but you can’t fool everybody. Eventually it catches up to you, resons why you’re not fooling anybody anymore. One thing for sure, you NEVER fooled me. I had you pegged since day one. Now, like I already suggested, move on to a lower level boxing site for novices, there you can possibly be the ‘legend’ you so long and yearn to be. Later!

Posted January 7, 2014 12:18 am

Boxtradamus

EZ E-Nope. I’m found and I’m making MUCH sense once again. Cotto is not MW Championship material. Not WANTING to make 147 and not being ABLE to are two different things. He’s only going UP to MW to try to be the first Puerto Rican to WIN titles in 4 weight classes. I admire his ambition but again its FOOLISH ambition….as far as ME retiring you can KEEP hoping in vain. I am the GREATEST Fight Prophet ever born and I cannot RETIRE from that. I am the GREATEST for all eternity. And a few LOSSES can’t change it….Martinez by merciful stoppage.

… Even so, Martinez would be risking a KO if he uses his head as bait against Cotto. It will be met with a vicious hook. All in all, if Cotto can avoid those head-cracking straight punches from Martinez, everything else is stacked in his favor: Cotto by brutal stoppage.

HIDALGO, i don’t know that the “Hispanic” (i.e. Mexican) fanbase extends to Cotto or Martinez. 500K PPVs would be a very respectable outcome for this matchup. after all, not even Rios v. Pacquiao* was able to crack that number, Martinez isn’t looking very prime, and Cotto is on his very last leg$.

Posted January 6, 2014 7:50 pm

Hidalgo

Cotto had a bad night against Trout. Trout had a bad night against Canelo and still only lost by a smidge. Canelo had a really bad night against Mayweather–couldn’t hardly touch him. This would be the same Mayweather whose nose Cotto bashed and bloodied and who was more effective against Floyd than any fighter of recent note. Yeah that Cotto. He could end up doing much better against Martinez than anyone thinks.

Posted January 6, 2014 7:27 pm

Hidalgo

“Martinez-Cotto isn’t tremendous PPV…”

Tark, I think we need to look at this in light of the Hispanic fan base. I think a Cotto/Martinez bout would do at least 1 million PPV.

TARK

Martinez-Cotto isn’t tremendous PPV… Cotto was whipped almost every round by Trout… Trout was badly beaten by Lara…

Cotto is a bit of a cherry pick for Martinez… Everyone knows what the fight at 160 is… And it isn’t Martinez-Cotto.

Posted January 6, 2014 2:41 am

Hidalgo

BTW, a Martinez/Cotto fight will be a great PPV event. Too bad we’ll have to pay to watch it.

Posted January 6, 2014 2:30 am

Hidalgo

Sergio will need to be in tip-top physical condition to beat Cotto. Unlike Sergio, Cotto is still durable and can take a pounding. Martinez, on the other hand, has been getting injured and gassing out in the late rounds. His last two fights have also been very hard-won, he was down in both fights, and he nearly lost both of them. Sergio has spent more time healing. He hasn’t fought since April last year.

But, a tip-top Sergio can outbox Miguel Cotto. I just don’t think Martinez will be tip-top. Especially if Cotto hurts him.

“At the same time I’m interested in WHO Canelo’s next opponent will be. GBP promised to have his rival chosen and announced weeks ago but still no word”(?). Q-Vo EZ. i’m surprised you missed the word(?). just a couple of weeks ago Canelo put a $10 million challenge on the table in an attempt to lure Cotto out from under his rock. still no word(?). let us know WTF is Cotto waiting for? another $10 million guarantee? from Who? not even Martinez is gonna attract that much money. i don’t even consider that matchup to be PPV-worthy, which is why i doubt it will ever be negotiated to either party’s satisfaction. IMO, Canelo destroys Cotto. please correct me if i’m wrong but what else could possibly be the reason for Cotto ignoring the biggest available payday? Canelo’s prime. Martinez is ringworn and beginning to come apart at the seams. perhaps that’s the reason? . . . Paz.

BOXTRA You’re lost and not making a bit of sense again. Cotto CAN’T make 147 anymore. He hasn’t fought at welter 4 in over FOUR years. Believe me, I’ve known Miguel since his amateur days and I’m pretty tight with a few of Cotto’s team, his legal adviser lives close by and his former trainer Joe Santiago is a good friend of mine that I’ve assisted in the corners of his fighters. Cotto will NEVER fight at 147 again. Now go back and re-assess your comment. I will re-evaluate it and then I’LL decide again whether you you’re making any sense or not. Seems like you’re already just about shot. You should think about to moving to another lesser level boxing site for novices. Retirement?? hmmm… Well, maybe you should at least consider it, amigo. I’M THE BEST COMMENT CRITIC EVER BORN LOL!!!

Guys i’m going to tell you boxing is not about the best fighting the best any more , like the old days . Now boxing is about which opponent will bring in the most money . Look if Mayweather wanted to fight the best ,he would have fought a young Margarito or a young Pacquiao .Name me a champion that wants to fight the best ,instead of an opponent that will make him the most money ,,only one i can think of right now is Abner Mares ,He will fight any body .

Posted January 5, 2014 10:05 pm

Boxtradamus

Cotto vs Bradley @ 147 is a GOOD matchup. Or vs Provodnikov. Facing Martinez @ MW is FOOLISH.

Posted January 5, 2014 4:43 pm

Boxtradamus

Cotto is going in the wrong direction. He’s delusional IF he thinks he can beat Martinez. He should be dropping to 147 not going UP to MW. Heard that Martinez will make it at 157 but thats still TOO much for Cotto. His SKILLS can’t match Martinez’s.

Posted January 5, 2014 4:41 pm

Boxtradamus

Martinez beats Cotto. I’d like to see him vs Canelo @ 160 and vs GGG TOO. I think GGG is the only guy that beats Martinez @ 160 other than Floyd.

Posted January 5, 2014 4:35 pm

Papo

At this point of his career a Cotto-Martinez fight makes more sense than Canelo-Cotto. Although both Cotto and Martinez are on their last fights of their respective career, Martinez inactivity and age will be a huge factor. At the same time, although Cotto turned down 10M to fight Canelo, if he wins his fight against Martinez, he’ll be in a better position to negotiate perhaps a bigger purse.

Martinez is a good fighter, but let’s not forget about his age, injuries and inactivity. Also, even though his taller than Cotto (so most opponents are taller than Cotto), he’s not a big middle weight. He was able to beat Chavez Jr. before entering the ring through intimidation. By the time Chavez entered the ring he was convinced Martinez was the superior man. I doubt Cotto would fall for that trap.

For the many comments here, one can deducted that Cotto doesn’t stand a chance or will be an easy prey for Martinez. However, I feel Cotto has a good chance of winning this fight. Unless Canelo man up and decide to take on Martinez, or Martinez decides to go against GG, this is the best fight for both Cotto and Martinez…neither one is getting any younger.

As for Canelo, my guess is that Oscar will be looking to match him against what may appear to be an easy opponent, perhaps Ortiz or Angulo. I said appear to be because he hasn’t done much to prove his an elite fighter and these, or any other opponent may give him a run for his money. The issue with Canelo is that he didn’t look good against Trout and Floyd exposed him big time. Although with a not too impressive resume, if he loses his next fight, or wins a terrible fight, he may as well forget about being part of any PPV event for a while.

Posted January 5, 2014 3:14 pm

PEEJ

Personally I would say no but I think they are test to see if he is a PPV attraction like Oscar was. I say no. I would not buy the fight unless they had an outstanding under card.

Posted January 5, 2014 1:39 pm

PEEJ I heard something about Angulo too but.. if it is will it be PPV worthy? Mayorga?? Just joking, of course. LOL

Posted January 5, 2014 1:00 pm

At the same time I’m interested in WHO Canelo’s next opponent will be. GBP promised to have his rival chosen and announced weeks ago but still no word. PPV?? He’ll have to face someone they can hype and sell to the fans or depend on a popular co-main event/undercard if they hope attract PPV fans. Or… will GBP/Team Canelo decide on a fairly safe hand picked tune-up opponent and present it on regular cable?? Either way, looking forward to his next fight.

Posted January 5, 2014 12:46 pm

PEEJ

From the Trout fight I would pick Canelo, from the Floyd fight I would pick Cotto. This is an even match up. Question is can Canelo take Cottos power. Cotto can take Canelos power for a few rounds that is for sure. But can Canelo take Cottos power. Not sure he has fought anybody that hits as hard as Cotto with the skills Cotto has.

If Cotto can keep smart pressure on Martinez then he has a good shot at beating Martinez. Martinez is overrated. The one thing he has though is his size against Cotto. Not really sure how Cotto will look at 160. He shouldn’t even come in at 160. He should just come in in shape and not worry about gaining weight.

I never thought I would ever see the day, but hopefully this means he is now permanently retired – He has nothing to prove to anyone and has provided me with some of my favourite moments in both the Heavyweight and Cuiserweight divisions!

The mischievous person in me could say he joined the cast to spend a week or so with the HOT Jasmine Waltz. Wow! I’ve never heard of her before, apparently she is an American Hollywood starlet – but, I sure as heck will be following her career closely from now on! Wow!

Fighting Words -I agree..I also wanna add that Cotto and his fans don’t want the so called Canelo hype train to get started again at their expense in front of the number one fanbase in the sport of boxing even if it means an 8 figure payday for their man..

Posted January 5, 2014 9:42 am

Fighting Words

Cotto did good in choosing Martinez rather than Canelo it is the safest fight for the most money. Martinez walks around the ring with his hands down waiting to throw before his opponent can fire back, no pressure or being the aggressor. Cotto keep his hands up good and throws the jab something that neutralize the style that Martinez have, this fight can go either way. With Canelo fight it Cotto could get KO’ED. Canelo is strong and could be very motivated after the lost to Mayweather, he would be big problem for Cotto that’s why Oscar offered a whopping $10 million for the fight

cotto is a shot fighter.

Posted January 5, 2014 7:00 am

boxing barlow

Cotto is a class act fighter and one of the best of this generation. Where he has been disadvantaged though is with his size. He is only 5’7 and a physically small framed 5’7 at that. As soon as he moved up from light welterweight he disadvantaged himself against bigger fighters. Now this wasnt an issue against lesser skilled fighter but as soon as he took on the bigger guys in the division you seen what he was up against. We all know Margirito was juiced up but Cotto was just at too much of a physical disadvantage to be able to put a serious dent in Marg. Against Mayweather and Pac we all know there is no shame in loosing those fights. But then he moved up to light middle where he was even more at a disadvantage. Trout is not a better fighter than Cotto but again Cotto’s small size went against him and he lost a fight that he should not have even been in. The same will happen IMO with Martinez. Cotto for me is the superior fighter/boxer and if it were’nt for the fact that Martinez is a healthy 5’10 tall Cotto would beat him around the ring all day long.

We all know if Martinez was still at top of his game we wouldn’t even be talking about this fight right now..spare me the Cotto fights for legacy and not for money crap..this is just the fake politically correct way for Miguel to spare the butt hurt feelings of his fans and his battered ego in the event he gets his ass handed to him by Canelo even if it means more money..

Cotto took a lot of beatings way too many

Posted January 5, 2014 2:16 am

Just no way Cotto beats Martinez . Even if Martinez is not the same fighter any more . Cotto is just as much finish as Martinez ,just because Cotto beat an ESPN fighter in Rodriquez does not make Cotto a beast any more .

Cotto will lose to Sergio by ud or tko.

Posted January 5, 2014 1:10 am

Farmboxer

Martinez will knock Cotto out. Martinez is bigger than Cotto, faster, moves much better. Both Martinez and Cotto are not as good as they were, but remember, “BOTH” are not in their primes. A good Martinez will knock Cotto out and a less than good Martinez will knock Cotto out. Golovkin would knock both of them out………

Posted January 5, 2014 12:43 am

The Cotto fans are fine with Martinez putting a serious ass woopin on their boy as long as is not at the hands of a mexican fighter obviously..Lol!

Cotto should take the Canelo fight.. Martinez would destroy him inside of 8 rounds and FAR less money!

Posted January 4, 2014 11:58 pm

C.Morgan

We’ll see if Cotto’s stamina issues have been helped at all from training with Roach, against Delvin it never became an issue. Cotto always gets into his backpeddling energy saving mode after 7 or 8 rounds of every fight fading terribly down the stretch.

Posted January 4, 2014 11:42 pm

Amoe

I like Sergio but he really isn’t a middle weight. This should be a good match up.

Posted January 4, 2014 11:38 pm

Turb0-H@mster..

Cotto could probably outbox Martinez and control him with his jab for half a fight, but he is going to eat left hands eventually that send him back to the Pacman fight. BAccking off getting beatdown.

Posted January 4, 2014 11:23 pm

Max

Cotto got lucky Pac damage Margochetos eye because Cotto is the one that can’t take a good pressure fighters.. If that second fight with Margochetos loaded gloves or not.. Cotto was about to panic and back pedal after that pressure was getting to him. Maybe Martinez needs to be the pressure fighter..

Posted January 4, 2014 11:19 pm

Hec Dog

You really don’t know what to expect from both guys. Martinez looked awful in his last fight. he was hurt, slow and looked like he aged over night. It’s been awhile since he fought last. he may very well be done. Cotto looked great against a D level fighter like Delvin Rodriguez. That fight was an illusion. Cotto did great fighting a guy that was scared and didn’t want to be in there. Your guess is a good anyone’s, both guys are likely on their last legs. They are looking for one last pay day. They need to retire and leave it to the young guys in the sport.

martinez is too athletic. he ain’t getting chopped down like delvin rodriguez lol. he can throw with respectable power and he has decent speed. i think he does enough to keep cotto off of him. both guys have seen their better days.

Martinez hasn’t looked good in last few fights and is coming back from injury, cotto did look good in his last fight. I think cotton will win by ud

Roy Jones Jr.? Is he still alive and active in boxing? Cotto will lose against Martinez. Too much to say here, but if the fight is made, Martinez will win.

Cotto is overated, look at him soaked in a bloodbath right there. Easy win for Martinez, cotto will be retired if this fight happens.

I agree Sergio is totally overrated. He KOed a WW in Paul Williams and beat a alcoholic in Kelly Palvic and some people consider him a great fighter. Chavez Jr would have KO’ed him if Chavez hadaany kind of a jab.

Martinez is to big for cotto and he can stop cotto with one punch

Posted January 4, 2014 7:08 pm

LikeISeeIt

I do favor Martinez if this fight happens, but, Cotto could still win this if he stays on Martinez. Martinez has not looked great lately and he’s wearing down. I also do not believe that Rodriguez is a soft touch. He had Trout running around for 12 rounds…

Posted January 4, 2014 6:49 pm

The Facts !

Roy Jones says that Miguel Cotto has to come out on the first round and pound away at Martinez like he did to Delvin Rodriquez ,,, Well the problem Roy Jones seems to forget is that Sergio Martinez is not Delvin Rodriquez . Cotto can run in to a powerful right cross if he attacks Martinez like he did Rodriquez .

Posted January 4, 2014 6:29 pm

Or cotto could get in line at middleweight like everyone else and earn a shot at a belt…
