It’s a really, really odd decision.
Staying with Top Rank, he’s pretty much limited to fighting Bradley, Marquez, Provodnikov, Rios, Alvarado and Shawn Porter.
Come on Pacquiao, use your head. What are you paying Michael Koncz for? If you’ve already got a manager and you’ve already got star-power, you don’t need to be glued to any one promoter. You’ve even got your own promotional company for crying out loud.
Manny Pacquiao can sign with whomever he wants. Trust me, Arum will reward him handsomely. Manny has cemented his legacy forever. He has been asking to fight Mayweather for years, but Manny will retire one day and in the eyes of fans will always look like a great fighter and an even better human being. Regardless if Floyd fights him or not, Manny will go down as the greater fighter. Floyd will always be looked at as the guy that ran from Manny Pacquiao. He will have lost so much respect from fans and fighters. Floyd has already tarnished himself forever. No matter what happens from this point on, Floyd Mayweather has disgraced himself, and boxing. You must understand that Floyd Mayweather needs Manny Pacquiao to cement his reputation and legacy, Manny doesn’t need Floyd for a thing. In the end, Manny will get a huge pay day if he sticks with Arum. Trust me. Big money is coming Manny’s way.Posted January 8, 2014 12:35 am
If Pacquiao renews, he’s even dumber than I thought. Who’s Arum dangling in front of Pacquiao? Mickey Garcia!!!! Watch Arum engineer another Pacquiao loss to keep him rooted to Top Rank.Posted January 7, 2014 8:45 pm

Of course Mayweather will do that. He also gives out $100,000 to a breast cancer society. Gives out turkey total value around $20,000 at most. SELLS shirts for the Philippines relieve fund. BUT Its all for show. Oh by the way he spends like $200,000 on a strip club and bets on games up $995,000. Floyd only cares for himself. These “contributions” are just for show while noble to us common folks its no different than me giving my change at the McDonalds register counter for the Ronald McDonald House. Its pocket change for Mayweather.Posted January 7, 2014 5:48 pm
Get Over It, my friend, you’re absolutely right Floyd passes out TURKEYS. And when he does that once a year good deed, he makes sure the cameras are rolling. He’s always been a glory hound. Manny will destroy him, and Floyd know’s fully well. If Floyd had so much control, he could make that fight. Forget the Arum stuff, if he’s really confident, Floyd would make the fight happen. Manny is the greatest fighter of our time, fighter of the decade and arguably the best fighter of all time. He fears no one, fights everyone and is the most respected man in boxing. He’s loved by all. Manny if you don’t know is the ONLY 8 division boxing champion in the history of boxing. That includes Floyd Mayweather. Manny just needs Floyd to find the courage to sign the contract. Just look around in the media. Everyone is calling Floyd a coward. When is he going to do something about it? Never, he’s scared, and fear can overwhelm anyone. Manny is the best.Posted January 7, 2014 2:20 pm
Pacman would be an idiot and a coward if he resigns, first he’ll get ripped off again and have more tax evasion cases, secondly GBP is popping with good opponents including Provodnikov who is on a figjt to fight agreement with Rob Arum. Top Skank has nothing but crap retreads and Mikey Garcia a Featherweight for Pac.Posted January 7, 2014 12:58 pm

Garcia is a goldenboy fighter isn’t he so that answers that one. As for khan he is a lightweight and floyd fights lightweights. He will fight Bradley in 2014 and also prov and that’s arums choice as a promoter. Manny not ducking anyone. Floyd picks his opponents so when he names the peeny weeny khan us pactards will all have a laugh at the great p4p queenPosted January 7, 2014 3:13 am
Auxbox you a pactard everybody is calling Manny out from Garcia, to Kahn and Bradley no one is scared especially after that travesty you call a fight with Rios. . you a nutthugger, its all over the internet. You to bullheaded to see Arum is screwing up from big bouts. Why not beat Bradley cine you say he cant punch in which I agree but Manny still cannot KO him. Then move on to Garcia., Kahn, Mallinagi or even Maidana, And top it off with Floyd. Manny did that he would be rich beyond messure but no he is a puppet on a string for Arum. Name one undefeated guy Manny beat?Posted January 7, 2014 3:10 am
Manny never said he was afraid of needles arum said said, and if you outlanded someone by 90 punches you would expect the nod to I’m guessingPosted January 7, 2014 3:05 am
Manny Pacquiao will have the largest PPV numbers without having a Canelo fan base to add to his numbers like Mayweather does or Cotto, Hatton, Oscar and so on. The China fight wasn’t even promoted or publicized in the states. Just watch what Manny does in his next fight.. Manny is a living legend that will maintain his elite status. He’s currently looking for his next victim, but Ped Man Marquez is running scared as well as Floyd Mayweather. These guys are cowards. Mayweather says he makes his own decision, well then fight the man. Don’t use Mr. Arum as the excuse. Don’t tell Manny who he has to let go. Boxing will thrive with or without Floyd Mayweather. Manny can make plenty of money in the ring or out of it. Remember, Manny Pacquiao is a Movie Star, Singer, Congressman, Model and the world’s most sought after athlete. Manny is Manny. Everyone needs to stop worrying about his finances or Bob Arum. Trust me, Arum will reward Manny handsomely in order to keep him. And, no one from 140-160 beats Manny right now. He’s an assassin ready for his next hit. Trust me, Manny is on a mission, and he will brighten boxing each and every fight.Posted January 7, 2014 3:04 am
Auzbox if you boy was cheated against Bradley and Marquez got lucky the why not avenge his loses and prove he is back? No one wants to hear excuses they are like butt holes everybody got one. And Manny has more excuses than a man going to prison. The one I am afraid of neddles was a classic.. lolPosted January 7, 2014 3:03 am
Mallinaggi, Garcia, don’t get near him. And as for Bradley he couldn’t out punch him last time and don’t forget manny beaten more undefeated fighters than voidPosted January 7, 2014 3:02 am
Auz box dream Manny avoids undefeated fighters like the flu. Garcia and thurman are undefeated dream on pactard Manny is a stupid loyal dude he is worst than a house pet a yes man for Arum who has no one Manny can fight and beat easily thats why he will never avenge his losses because he cannot beat those guys Roach said it counter punchers give him problems, So either way he is screwed. Thurman is a nobody no one will pay to see that. And guys like Garcia, Maidana or Mallinagi will beat his ass easy if he ever leaves Arum but again I dont see it happening, Before the year is up if Arum cant find another bum Manny can look good beating like Rios he wont have a choice other than to throw him to Bradley or Ruslan in either case he looses badly. You boy is finished but dont feel bad though. Floyd is still on top and always will be so cheer up….Posted January 7, 2014 2:57 am
TE TUMBO: manny doesn’t get named with all the fighters you have named because they are golden boy fighters, if manny leaves at the end of the year he would not have trouble at all beating Thurman or Garcia, they easy beats for manny!Posted January 7, 2014 2:45 am
RAY RAY: if manny landed 90 or more punches on Bradley before he can do it again. Bradley was damaged in the prov fight. I will bet you manny will not loose in 2014Posted January 7, 2014 2:42 am
PEEJ: fact of the matter is that manny is fighter of the decade 2000-2009 so your statement is untrue. Manny is the best of his time so farPosted January 7, 2014 2:40 am

RAY RAY, forgot to mention Ruslan or Bradley, which nonetheless seem to be functioning more as promotional bargaining ploys than legitimate options. if Pacquiao* isn’t seriously considering and reaching out to the likes of Garcia, Ruslan, Bradley, Maidana, Mathysse, or Thurman? then he can no longer be counted among the most prominent welter champions and contenders.Posted January 6, 2014 9:18 pm
Te tumbo agree 100%. Manny Qwackquiao…..alot of good names @ Golden boy. Floyd will fight Garcia, Lara an Sergio b4 hes done…..Manny fighting?????? A lightweight or get ktfo again by a 40 yr old. Bradley could beat him 2. Ruslan also could b a danger 4 Manny. Manny will lose 2014.Posted January 6, 2014 8:32 pm
the fighters that haven’t been mentioned as possible Pacquiao* opponents: Garcia, Mathysse, Thurman, Maidana, Canelo, or Lara. the fighter that has: 130lb Mikey Garcia. connect the two dots. Pacquiao* is no longer among the most prominent and promising welters in the fight-game.Posted January 6, 2014 7:25 pm
Floyd remains #1 P4P and undefeated. Pacquiao* is on no credible P4P list and has no leverage to dictate terms or browbeat Mayweather in negotiations. IMO, it’s not even a credible matchup and hardly PPV-worthy if not for Arum’s promotional clout. Btw, Pacquiao* also haggled himself out(?!?) of redeeming HIS DEVASTATING KO LOSS v. Marquez(?!?). unfortunately, blind devotion to Pacquiao* only continues to enable Arum’s promotional antics, which do not include giving fight-fans what they want.Posted January 6, 2014 7:22 pm
“Rich just so you know Floyd used to do a commercial for ATT. So he has had sponsors before. He was also under the Jordan brand.”
But now that he’s a convicted felon, that is probably the reason few entities want to sponsor Mayweather. Of course I may be talking out of my azz because I don’t know who if anyone presently sponsors him. But I think that’s what’s going on.
Also Peej, if it is the case that you say–that Arum and Koncz are handling Pac’s financial affairs, well, the onus is still on Pacquiao to be accountable for his money and to spend it responsibly and to meet his tax and other financial responsibilities in a professional manner.Posted January 6, 2014 7:18 pm

Peej is seriously in denial Floyd just said he’d never do business with Arum which means even if Pac agreed to all Floyd’s demands he still wouldn’t have fought Pac. Get real no way was Cotto v Floyd a 10-2 fight Cotto won competitive rounds too. Don’t even get me started on the Trout fight 11-1 lmao. Cotto chose to fight Martinez under the TR banner and although unofficial I read they offered him 15 mil. It has everything to do with politics.Posted January 6, 2014 5:56 pm

Pac is loyal to his people just like peej is loyal to his people.
Lol I think its funny if it happens.
Who cares anymore, the networks and GBP and top rank are trying to tear each other down to gain a monopoly.
Fights dont get made because of greed and power struggles.
Cotto may get a shot at Martinez before 3G ?

Deep down you know Pac and company was the one coming up with excuses. Lets see Floyd asked for drug testing and we all know all the excuses Pac made. Then he asked for more money, Floyd sells more so he should deserve more money, Pac denied that. Then there was the old needing a stadium built. So deep down you know Pac is the one making excuses. I can name plenty more excuses that came from Pac and companies mouths. You can only come up with 3 for Floyd and that is the drug testing, more money and not working with ArumPosted January 6, 2014 3:44 pm
Peej: Deep down even YOU know it’s Floyd doing all the demanding and excuse making. But keep pretending.Posted January 6, 2014 3:37 pm

Manny does fear a challenger. Actually 2. He feared Joan Guzman and then there is the whole Floyd thing and the excuses he had when he was too scared of needles. Like the way he beat that fear though for the Rios fight. That should be applauded. Any man over coming his fears is a step in the right direction.Posted January 6, 2014 3:33 pm

The truth is Floyd is the greatest fighter of his generation and Pac comes in second. Youll just have to accept that. Or maybe not but it is fact.Posted January 6, 2014 2:40 pm
The plain truth is that broke, rich or half-dead… Manny IS WAY greater than Floyd, Manny is the real deal… Floyd is a conman! He may have been for real at LW, but at WW, he’s only been any good at ducking every real prime threat, (prime Cotto, Clottey, Kostya Tszu, Margarito, Mosley, Williams, and ANY version of Pacquiao) comes to mind… He is only good at cherry-picking good slow-footed challengers, and further making BS demands that allow him to rob his gullible fans with the illusion of greatness! Only clueless psuedo-boxing fans really think Floyd is great… Truthfully most reputable boxing rankings are just playing politics to avoid a backlash from crybaby Floyd and his whiny fans… I’ll betcha that secretly Most of them really want to rank Manny above Floyd, even with Floyd’s zero… But they know Floyd’s fans will pitch a fit, so they give the top spot to the conman… And I’ll put it this way, 50 cent proved that in a street fight, Floyd would get skull drug… I guarantee, Manny would STILL whoop ass!Posted January 6, 2014 2:34 pm
Just because you are competitive in a fight does not mean you win the round. That had nothing to do with politics. He accepted those fights. That is it. He is still on his own and is about to get paid 10 mil or more in his next fight. I would say the politics of boxing have been good to CottoPosted January 6, 2014 2:30 pm

Rich just so you know Floyd used to do a commercial for ATT. So he has had sponsors before. He was also under the Jordan brand.Posted January 6, 2014 2:28 pm
Leaving TR isn’t a real option for Pac the politics of boxing would try to bury him thats why Floyd and Showtime want him to do so. When Cotto left TR he was crushed by the political powers. His fights against Mayweather and Trout were scored 10-2 and 11-1. Both were extremely competitive fights but Cotto has his own small promotional company and the big promotional companies what to keep it that way so they had the judges teach him a lesson with those ridiculous scored. I don’t want Pac to leave TR if Floyd doesn’t fight Pac its his legacy that will suffer so ef him and Showtime they need Pac right now look at them looking to Khan to sell what a joke ha ha.Posted January 6, 2014 2:11 pm
No wonder Manny is broke, Arum’s gonna make sure he Don King’s him before he retires. Poor Manny. Wish he would just dump Top Rank, be a self promoter and rake is MILLIONS. But now, he’d rather give up 20% of his purse and be indebted to Top Rank….weak.sauce!Posted January 6, 2014 1:58 pm
Money will move mountains. Pacquiao will be able to fight the golden boys but perhaps not Mayweather. Nobody is 100% sure Mayweather will fight Pacquiao if Pacquiao quits top rank. So Batangeno whatever stop your crap.Posted January 6, 2014 1:43 pm
I’d be surprised to see Pac signing a contract of any serious length. Wasn’t there talk even a year or so ago of him winding down his career so that he could focus more on politics? Or has that path started to fade?
And can’t he just go free-agent like Cotto did?
@Rich – As far as being a business man he comes up gasping….He is the only big time sportsman who to this date, remains without the backing of a legitimate sponsor”
When you can pull $34M solely off fight income, who needs sponsorship?
Purely off of “sport achievement earnings”, Mayweather is the 4th highest paid athlete in the entire world! Not to mention that the only higher paid athletes in this metric are NFL players (i.e. compare Mayweather fighting twice per year to them playing entire seasons for their money).
Heck, even when you include sponsorship, he still ranks at #14. He earns more than Fernando Alonso for crying out loud, and those F1 guys make a mint!
People can hate him all they like, but regardless of talent, you don’t demand that kind of money without having some serious business sense (or guidance… maybe Al Haymon should get more of the credit, but who knows?).Posted January 6, 2014 1:36 pm
The really big time businessmen on here are telling it large how Pacq has lost out on so much dough because he is not with golden boy and Floyd is the big wheeler dealer.Well when it comes to dealing Floyd has blown deals worth hundreds of millions, which he could have garnered for a lifetime…As far as being a business man he comes up gasping….He is the only big time sportsman who to this date, remains without the backing of a legitimate sponsor…….Which would seem to make him a jackpot for any big time sponsorPosted January 6, 2014 1:19 pm

The accounting firm that Pac hired and that Arum convinced Pac of getting rid of them said there where many discrepancies with his financial situation. Arum and Koncz handle his financial situation. Koncz has a lot of write offs that are simply written on paper, no receipts or anything just hand written notes. Arum is the one responsible for paying his taxes.Posted January 6, 2014 11:44 am
In order to make the fight with Mayweather, Cotto realized that working with Floyd necessitated working without bob Arum. But everyone knows if you want to fight Floyd you have to expect to play his game. Otherwise, no fight. Just ask Manny Pacquiao.Posted January 6, 2014 11:29 am
Leave Manny’s financial situation to the pros. It’s not a matter to be discussed by a bunch of pimple faced nerdy boxing fans. We won’t get further than, “Arum is a greedy snake”. The truth is likely a bit more complex…Posted January 6, 2014 11:28 am
I’m wondering, who has any concrete proof that Bob Arum is the root of Manny’s financial problems? Floyd didn’t leave Arum because Arum was ripping him off. Floyd left Arum because Floyd felt he could make more money without him.
Cotto left on amicable terms and for no other reason than to seek different business opportunities. Bob Arum: “”Miguel lived up to every contractual provision that we had and we lived up to every contractual provision and the contract expired. There is no animosity. We’re very fond of him. … It’s not big of me to say that. If the guy had violated a contract, I wouldn’t be sounding like this. But he didn’t.”
After announcing the expiration of his contract his split with Top Rank Cotto said: “”The only thing I want to let you know is that Bob Arum was, is and always will be my promoter. No matter what direction I decide to take my career, he will remain. He is the person who made me who I am.”
Bob Arum is a hardcore businessman and he has a tainted past, but that doesn’t mean he’s screwed every boxer he’s ever promoted. Or that he’s screwed any at all. There’s always two sides to every story. And to my knowledge, every fighter that Arum ever promoted can read and had access to lawyers, accountants, and business advisors.Posted January 6, 2014 11:26 am
Auzbox, as far as not being impressed, I compare Manny in the Rios fight and back in the days, 2009, 2010. Floyd is a safety first fighter who managed to stay undefeated all these years by carefully picking the right opponents at the right time and simple using his skills.
His fights are boring as fu*k but he sure knows his boxing.Posted January 6, 2014 11:25 am
“Pacquiao leaves TR, he can fight 6 fights in 2 and 1/2 years and make much more than you think. Garcia, Matthysse, Khan, Maidana, Mayweather, Alexander, Porter or Thurman. The list is endless.”
Well, it may appear that way Mbuyiseli, but GBP already has tracks chosen for the fighters that you listed and even if they got Manny (I hardly believe Manny would ever sign with Mayweather Promotions or a lesser promoter than GBP or Top Rank) GBP would be very careful about how they moved forward with Manny’s career. You don’t let a gem like Manny Pacquiao get tarnished easily. Otherwise, what’s the point of acquiring him?
Besides that, Manny, first and foremost wants a fight with Mayweather (or so it appears). Manny won’t be interested in fighting a number of other tough contenders before he gets to Mayweather. And you can bet Floyd will still play games with him after he leaves Arum. Pacquiao’s already been there done that. He’s paid his dues ten times over for a fight with Mayweather compared to the likes of Guerrero and Ortiz.
Pacquiao’s star has faded somewhat but he’s still a big name who still has a very large fan base, and who can make a promoter and Showtime or HBO a lot of money. Somebody is going to have to make Pac some promises in writing before he leaves Bob Arum. Because words don’t pay the bills.
But beyond all that, who says GBP wants Manny? Surely they also think his star is fading. Unless all they want is the opportunity to cash in on the blockbuster fight that Mayweather vs. Pacquiao would be.Posted January 6, 2014 11:15 am
If I were PAC I would not leave Bob Arum to fight Mayweather, because Mayweather will just keep putting obstacles to not make fight. But he should leave Arum for himself before he ends up broke…..Posted January 6, 2014 9:23 am
In the end, both Pac and Floyd are to blame for this fight not happening because both are keeping the obstacles to making this fight happen, happen.Posted January 6, 2014 8:56 am
Fighters need to take control of their own careers and standup and understand that without them, the fight doesn’t happen. The Promoter should be viewed as their “employee” and not their “employer” which means, there is no “Whateva my promoter says I will do,” NO, it will be more like, “I will tell my Promoter to make the fight happen.”
The only think your Promoter should do is promote the fight. If anything else, be used as an “experienced” adviser to help guide you in your career. IN many cases, to steer you away from talent that can beat you and end your career. That’s being honest. And that’s also why “some” fighters do hide behind their promoter and the excuse of “I will have to talk to my promoter”
I can’t blame them in that aspect at all because if you can extend your career, make the most money with the least damaging fights, you are better off Mentally, Physically, and Financially.Posted January 6, 2014 8:48 am
Robert Garcia and Mikey Garcia both admit that the Cold War between Top Rank and Golden Boy are hurting boxing and making it difficult to make fights that should happen, happen. Like Mikey vs. GBP fighters and of course, Pac vs. GBP as Robert Garcia has stated.Posted January 6, 2014 8:44 am
Cotto vs. Floyd way back was set to happen in the “near future” but once Floyd left Arum the fight was off. People blamed Floyd for the fight not happening for many years. That is until “some” of the partial fans saw Cotto temporarily leave Arum and immediately sign a fight with Floyd in which he received his biggest payday to date.Posted January 6, 2014 8:43 am
Manny should make himself a free agent like Floyd and Oscar did. Hire people on a fight to fight basis and NEVER sign a long term contract that binds you to a group of people.
Oscar and Floyd made more money on their own than with Arum.
Floyd won’t do business with Arum because they have a bad past. Oscar had the same issue.Posted January 6, 2014 8:36 am
Floyds making out Arums the problem. Floyds the problem. Arums the excuse. Mannys the warriorPosted January 6, 2014 8:15 am
HAIMAT: how could you not be impressed by PAC last fight. Don’t tell me you hate that fight but then like the way floyd fights it was mirror image but PAC did it better with combinationsPosted January 6, 2014 8:07 am
Pac boxed intelligently. He followed Abril’s blueprint and moved his feet. He avoided exchanges. Most fighters should be able to do that against Rios who at WW ain’t nothing but a punching bag. I wasn’t impressed by Pac in that fight. It told be he’s running on fumes.Posted January 6, 2014 7:40 am
Who is he going to fight at top Rank, after Bradley and Ruslan? Plus those fights won’t be easy fights for him. I thought Pacquaio was bouncier in his last fight. Unfortunately he could not KTFO of a juiced up face first plodder in Rios. Nothing to be ashamed of.Posted January 6, 2014 7:34 am
Hildago funny that you brought up the $15 mil he made. Don’t you think his dwindling PPV numbers can have a negative impact on his contract come end of 2014 with Top Rank, just asking? Arum & Koncz should be investigated simple as that. Pacquaio doesn’t deserve to end up broke after such a boxing career.Posted January 6, 2014 7:30 am
Mbuyiseli, you really think Manny will fight 6 more fights? He looked uninspired against Rios and he wasn’t able to hurt him at all. Pac as a world beater is done. He might beat Provodnikov and he should beat Garcia but IRL he’s a shadow of his former self as a fighter.Posted January 6, 2014 7:29 am
Hildago Arum has made Manny some money. The real question is how much money has Manny made for Bob “the old snake” Arum. Arum stayed with Pacquaio due to financial gains. How quick did Arum dumb Margarito when he realised he was a bum from Tijuana without the bricks? You guys really astonish me, business 101. Manny and Bob’s relationship is based solely on monetary benefits. Pacquiao leaves TR, he can fight 6 fights in 2 and 1/2 years and make much more than you think. Garcia, Matthysse, Khan, Maidana, Mayweather, Alexander, Porter or Thurman. The list is endless.Posted January 6, 2014 7:24 am
The fight with Floyd made a whole lot of sense back in 2009 when Pac was demolishing Welterweights one by one. Floyd fought Judah and lost 3 of the first 4 rounds. Judah was a fast, slick south paw coming off a loss to Baldomir. Floyd started to walk Judah down and beat him up badly down the stretch. Judah has always faded late, except for the Garcia fight, and somehow managed to stay in there for the full 12 rounds.
Pac was a force of nature back then. His footwork was the most explosive in boxing. South paw just like Judah but he had no stamina problems. He got stronger later in fights. He wasn’t as slick as Judah but apart from slickness he was superior in every aspect.
Floyd has steadily improved in his career and that’s why the fight made so much sense in 2009 it’s ridiculous. In 2015 it’s a farce. 12 rounds of two uninspired older men with financial difficulties exchanging a few punches each round and Floyd winning a UD.
I’ll still watch it.Posted January 6, 2014 7:10 am
Seems to me that Pac is pulling every string to get a fight with Floyd including breaking with his long time friend and promoter in Arum. Pac desperately needs money. A fight with Floyd would generate more than any other fight. His plan is probably Provodnikov and then an easier fight in Garcia and finally fighting Floyd in 2015. Those fight could maybe generate enough money to get him out of his financial troubles but I doubt it. The wolves have tasted blood and will not stop until there is nothing left and Manny is deep in debt.Posted January 6, 2014 6:58 am
Rob Smith, Manny Pacquiao is 35 years old and has been fighting professionally for 20 years. He’ll fight maybe two more years. He will not fight “guys like Alvarado, Rios, Provodnikov and Bradley … repeatedly” Why would you say that? How did you come to that conclusion?
Bob Arum is Pacquiao’s promoter. He’s biggest desire is to resign his star and he’ll do everything in his power to do so. It’s in his nature as a promoter to do so. There is an article on ringtv where Manny is discussing not signing with Arum again for the sole purpose of fighting Floyd in 2015.
Why are you writing articles about boxing Rob Smith? Just wondering…Posted January 6, 2014 6:52 am
PACMAN SHOULD take the ending of his current contract as a chance to take stock and re-evaluate what he wishes to achieve both in boxing and in his career as a potential top politician in the Philippines.
No one knows the ins and outs of his present contract and we can’t profess to know what any potential new contract with ROB Arum will entail.
My thoughts on this is as a potential politician he really should be SCRUTINISING every single word and phrase of the inked contract and get top lawyers in to make sure there are no shenanigans by ROB.
If he cannot be bothered to know every detail of his own contracts then how in the heck is this geezer going to be able to run a country or a district in his country, if he pays no attention to detail????
In every aspect of life, the Devil is in the detail and if he is too stupid to know this, then none of us should worry about him re-signing with the very devil himself.
ROB could end up ruining any potential political career for Manny by putting him on the road to bankruptcy and a lifetime battle with the IRS.
That is no joke!!!!Posted January 6, 2014 6:32 am
And dan he isn’t broke, you don’t have to pay taxes in two countries when the countries have the tax agreement. And 50 mill come on would of been lucky to earn 50 over two years let alone all the rubbish in the media. Guaranteed it won’t be a very high amount at all. It’s just another floyd excuse. We should be talking about boxing not the irsPosted January 6, 2014 5:50 am
Any one that talks about mannys early losses are irrelevant, the poor man couldn’t afford to eat let alone train properly. He has come from the bottom up. Guys like floyd have had three meals a day even though he cried poor, manny lived sometimes on the street, he is a true hero and legend of this great sportPosted January 6, 2014 5:47 am
How can the guy earn so much yet still be flat broke? Surely Pacquiao isn’t that foolish that he cannot understand that he would make an enormous purse should he leave Arum and face Mayweather? Fans have clamoured for this fight for years now but I think we will all have to imagine the outcome sadly.Posted January 6, 2014 5:31 am
Manny is Arums house pet and he does whatever he tells him to do that’s what he does. He never wanted a fight with Floyd and he never will Contracts cannot be broken and Manny is just stupid enough and Loyal to stay with him. I assure you two things will never happen Manny will never avenge his losses and he will never Fight Floyd Arum keeps all his dogs in house. Bradley not matter how much he wins he will never fight outside of top rank. I bet that.Posted January 6, 2014 2:52 am
Get over it
Excuses are like butt holes we all got one. Manny was cheated and Marquez got lucky ok these is only one way to prove it. Avenge your losses Moralles is achient history, Manny has two losses that he needs to answer for he didn’t Dominate Tim. Even though I felt he did enough to win. Marguez KTFO. People cry about Floyd but a undefeated but has nothing to prove its the man coming to his record. And Manny has a long road to prove himself. I bet some retards though Rios was tough what a joke.Posted January 6, 2014 2:45 am
Pacquiao certainly avenged his loss to Morales in spades, twice… His reacord with Marquez is 2-1-1… So he won the series… The other 2 guys who beat him early in his career are not significant happenings.
Everyone knows he beat Bradley.Posted January 6, 2014 2:37 am
I meant to say “Arum is going to go all out to resign Pacquiao”Posted January 6, 2014 2:34 am
Name one undefeated fighter Manny beat? Go ahead I will wait zero. Has he avenged his losses no. Has he beat anyone worth taking about since 09 no. Does his fights sell and make money no. Is he avoiding Bradley yes. Manny has no skills and right now no one is stupid enough to dehydrate themselves to fight him so Arum is looking for guys to come up in weight hoping Manny can KO them Mikey Garcia is a featherweight. Rios was a lightweight. They are avoiding Bradley because Manny will get his ass beat for sure and they know it. Whats in the darkness shall come to light. And the jury has spoken. Floyd made over 100 million last year. And to my record he did so without fighting Manny who these pactards still seem to think he has star power. Manny made less that 3 million to fight Rios. If Floyd was to fight Manny today the only person to benefit from it will be Manny, Yes he will get his ass beat but it will be the most rewarding one he has ever had, I say not make his suffer don’t give in to these fakes only to make his Jew more rich. Its simple economics.Posted January 6, 2014 2:33 am
Pacquiao is going to go all out to resign Pacquiao… Pacquaio wouldn’t tell him, “Yes, I’ll resign with you.”
So Bob says, “Well if I offer you a sensational deal is there a chance you’ll resign with me???” …. WTH is Pac going to say to that?
So Arum takes that answer and goes on a media offensive saying that Pacq “may” resign with him…
Bob is a dirty dog… That’s all I have to say. He doesn’t give a damn if May-Pac is ever made… He wants to win and does that by resigning Pac.Posted January 6, 2014 2:32 am
Captain Jerk- Losers? Ouch, low blow. Im no loser, u would no plenty about losing supporting Qwackquiao? And theres more on the way. Manny will lose 2014.Posted January 6, 2014 2:25 am
Captain kirk- I agree he is a good guy and entertainer, I like him. Its his idiot die hard fans that r stupid. What kind of guy they r has zero 2 do with there boxing careers….Floyds skill level is higher, thays all. And I like adding fuel 2 the fire, pactards r easy 2 get crying an moaning.Posted January 6, 2014 2:21 am
Manny is retarded and this will ensure he stays broke. He will never land a fight with Floyd and at the end of what left of his very short career he will be broke and brain damaged like so many others before him. Manny should read a page from Mike Tysons book called who not to trust dude is setting himself up for serious failure messing with the likes of Arum, man he keeps all his dog on a very short leash I swear…Posted January 6, 2014 2:04 am
Captain Kirk’s Nipples
@ “Pac is Ducking Bradley” and “Ray Ray”, I pity you fools! You are haters, and you are hating the wrong guy. Pacquiao is a good guy, an outstanding, crowd-pleasing fighter. He has never mocked or spoken poorly of Mayweather, or anybody. He is “doing his job”, and is amazing while doing it win or lose. So what is your problem? Go after Arum, but leave Pac alone. Arum made a lot of money for Pac and made him famous, Pac is a loyal guy and of course will nit just walk away? He is not an opportunist. You guys are losers…Posted January 6, 2014 1:54 am
“Arum and Koncz were in charge of filing and paying Manny’s taxes out of his earning– but neither government ever received either Tax Filings and or Money-”
Manny Pacquiao is responsible for Manny Pacquiao’s taxes. No one else. For Pete’s sake he’s a congressman in his own country and he’s a multimillion dollar super star boxer, celebrity, and entertainer. Who was supposed to pay his taxes for his TV and movie appearances, and his singing and CDs? Who is supposed to pay his taxes for all the money he makes from his endorsements? Pac makes millions from these other endeavors too.
Pac is his own worst enemy. No one else. And no one else is to blame.Posted January 6, 2014 1:53 am
Manny Qwackquiao…..Posted January 6, 2014 12:53 am
Wow I read below from some poor guy, saying Manny is better off @ toprank? Theres nothing left @ toprank…..actually I get it now? He is better off. Garcia, Alvarez, Maidana, Floyd, Lara, Alexander, Paullie, Khan an Matthysse all with Golden boy…..doesnt have 2 fight any of them, instead he can try 2 get another fight with 40 plus yr old or a lightweight….Whos the ducker?Posted January 6, 2014 12:51 am
LMFAO Mayweather is OLDER than Manny you Pactards. Why would Mayweather be waiting for him to be more past his prime? Stupid ass tards. All Manny had to do was not sign to Top Rank for one fight but instead he’s going to make sure he can duck Floyd for life. Lilfetime contract with Bob. DUCKER PEDCquiao.Posted January 6, 2014 12:42 am
Who cares if manny fights on 4 toprank? After 2014 a new contract wont b worth using in the toilet. Manny will lose 2014….Posted January 6, 2014 12:37 am

Duckweather is gonna wait until Pacquiao is even more past his prime to fight him. Duckweather is a jokePosted January 6, 2014 12:11 am
Floyd Xylocaine Mayweather
Floyd is Al Haymon’s product, Floyd is no way in the driver seat when it comes to his career moves.
The legendary Manny Pacquiao will be fine either way he decides to go. Manny is a loyal, forgiving, understanding person. His tax issues are on the way to being fixed. The tax leans will be dissolved very soon. Half the rumors you hear are just that, rumors. I’m sure Manny and Arum and Koncz are talking and working out any problems or issues they may have. Manny will make money a million different ways people. he’s more than just a boxer. He’ s a successful and sought out Actor, Singer, Model, and congressman among other things. He may one day be President. His endorsements are numerous. Let’s not worry about his personal life and variety of careers he has. let’s keep focused on his boxing career. Manny Pacquiao is the only 8 division boxing champion in boxing history. He has laced the cover of TIME Magaine. Manny was voted fighter of the Decade, yes that includes Floyd Mayweather in that decade. Manny has a million options insie the squared circle. He can and will beat the following fighters: Mikey Garcia, Danny Garcia, Provodnikov, Broner, Bradley, Canelo, Porter, Thurman, Martinez and of course Floyd Mayweather. Manny Pacquiao you must understand is a living legend that has power and speed that has never been seen. I dare any of those guys to take Manny on. Manny is a fighting machine that can fight in a variety of ways as proven in his spectacular performance he displayed against Rios. Manny Pacquiao is arguably the greatest fighter of all time. Please give him his due. Manny is the best.Posted January 6, 2014 12:04 am

Manny no’s the Floyd fight wont happen if he’s with toprank…..whos ducking who?Posted January 5, 2014 11:19 pm
You can’t argue the evidence. Marquez left Top Rank. The result? He got a Mayweather fight. Cotto left Top Rank. The result? HE got a Mayweather fight. It’s clear that Floyd is willing to fight Top Rank fighters, as long as they’re no longer with Top Rank when the possible fight is signed. Manny has no excuse when the blueprint to Floyd is laid out in front of him. I believe bradley will leave at the end of his contract. And the result? A Mayweather fight in 2015 if not sooner.Posted January 5, 2014 11:03 pm
Wow pac must except that fact he is good w being broke. He will never get the money he deserves as long as he stays w top rank. Wish he woulda took that 40 mil to fight floyd. He deserved more for the floyd fight but atleast his finacial situation would be better. He prob wouldn’t have tax issues!Posted January 5, 2014 10:50 pm
It make me mad every time Floyd and Arum opened their mouths, they don’t want us to hear what we all like to hear, which is the pacman fight, their killing boxing.Posted January 5, 2014 10:46 pm
its arum who does not want pacquiao to fight mayweather that is why he wants to keep it all to his self he try’s to blame others but its him he should let manny fight floyd on all money may’s terms and if manny would to beat lil floyd then he has all the right to be called the greatest till then manny is just a good fighterPosted January 5, 2014 10:37 pm
Pac is Ducking Bradley
“Hildago”- Are you aware of Pac’s current financial status- He is currently under investigation with both the US and Philippine IRS- His assets in both countries are under sequestration and his bank accounts have been frozen- Arum and Koncz were in charge of filing and paying Manny’s taxes out of his earning– but neither government ever received either Tax Filings and or Money- Arum did this same thing to Maywether and several other fighters under his charge from what the paper and articles have been mentioning. Pac should become a free agent- so he can fight who he chooses when he chooses. But to be very honest- Pac seems be just a little bit above retardation in the brains department. He seems to need someone to tell him what to do and when to do it. He also seems to be very easily manipulated- He is going to end of broke- and gretting people at grand opening of new malls and grocery stores in general santos city. Cutting the red ribbon for our newest store is formed 8 division world champion– Manny Pacman Pacquio..Posted January 5, 2014 10:10 pm
Mayweather plus GBP is NOT equal to TOP RANK! Pacman is on a best situation than breaking the very good successful career in boxing with Top Rank. Screw Boring Floyd!Posted January 5, 2014 10:09 pm
“Which would show that he doesn’t want to face Mayweather.”
NO. It would show that Pacquiao is no idiot. Bob Arum has made Manny a lot of money. If Pac leaves Arum there’s no guarantee he will make the same or more than he does now or that he would getter as good as or better fights. Pac may not be making as much as Mayweather, but he still makes well over $15 million for every fight. That ain’t chicken feed.
There’s also no guarantee that Floyd would make a fight with Manny if he wasn’t with Bob Arum. Floyd often talks out of both sides of his mouth. For instance, in early December last year, Floyd said he didn’t know if he’d be fighting Pacquiao or Khan in May 2014. Then, about two weeks later Floyd says he’ll never fight Pacquiao while he’s with Arum.
There’s nothing Floyd would enjoy better than seeing Pacquiao leave Arum giving Floyd the opportunity to jerk him around a little bit. Granted, Pacquiao doesn’t have a lot of opponents to choose from in the Arum stable, but at least Arum is still making him lots of money.
Besides, Pac may be looking to retire after one or two more fights. I guess we’ll find out Pac’s choice before May.Posted January 5, 2014 9:24 pm
Floynever oh see he wont fight me bsPosted January 5, 2014 9:24 pm

PACQUIAO IS “SCARED” OF MAYWEATHER & DRUG TEST !!!!! FACT !!!!!Posted January 5, 2014 8:19 pm
Calling Manny a coward can only be done by the ilk of Mayrunner fans. Pac is a small man who moved up to trade punches with bigger heavy hitters. What would he fear from Mayweather? He has no power. Losing a decision? Lmao. Mayweather is the fighter that has something to fear facing Pac. Getting hit on that patented Mayweather chin and looking like Broner. Mayweather just waited Pac out while ducking his physical prime like a COWARD. Pressure fighters fade faster. He is only NOW running his mouth because he had no place running his mouth while in full flee mode. His buddy 50 cent knows what happened ….he ducked. Pac is a very secure man. Mayweather constantly needs azz lickers to keep up with his insecurities. Look at Pacs record of fighting guys he really shouldn’t have bcuz of the size/ strength gap. Look at Mayweathers record of fighting guys he shouldn’t have……because they were chosen only because they had no chance due to age etc. Mayweather last fought a real threat after losing to Castillo and then winning by 2 rounds in the rematch. He shut it down since.Posted January 5, 2014 7:48 pm
Noooooooo, Pac. Dont do it man. Be a free agent. Your pay per view sales will be horrible if you stay. Alvarado and ruslan are lightweights and no one wants to see that. U say what happened with Pac-Rios.Posted January 5, 2014 7:35 pm

This doesn’t mean anything, just wait… Oc course, Arum will say that they will renew, Manny has been and is Top Ranks biggest star since years….Arum does not want to lose his cash cow…not to Floyd… I believe if Floyd is serious about fighting him if Top Rank is out of the game, it will happen…the only problem, Floyd and his family find one excuse after the other on a weekly basis..Posted January 5, 2014 7:11 pm
