This is just too funny. And McCloskey sitting right next to de La Hoya (Formally known as the fishnet girl), and even discussing this fight. McClosky vs Khan II. Hahahahahaha

“…to collect easy paydays to milk his still very high popularity over there…” My thoughts exactly.

Brook is the only domestic fighter I would want khan to face. It would be a great test for brook to see if he can handle tougher opposition and also show whether or not khan is finished. However I would ideally want khan straight back in with lamont or Garcia and if he still can’t follow instructions to box he’s finished anyway. To suggest that British fans will be happy to see khan avoid live opponents and chalk up easy W’s is presumptuous and lazy journalism.

Perhaps this match-up is meant to be a safe fight for Khan to work on his nonexistent inside game. However I’d much rather see him fight McCloskey conqueror “DeMarcus Corley” who continues to teach these kids lessons they somehow never learned.

This would be a nothing fight, that even in the UK people would want to see it would be mind bogling. First, did not McCloskey get stopped by Chop Chop Corley? While McCloskey did defeat Prescott, I definitely see much more interest in this fight, as he could avenge a loss, and Prescott has been calling Khan out for years. While Khan was champion it did not really make sense for Prescott who was not deserving of this title shot, Khan is no longer a champion, and only a contender. Now is the time for this fight to happen.

McCloskey is about the right level for Khan. Neither fighter is elite level but a solid 10 round main event fighters on a local level.

I am neutral boxing fan, without any bias, this is easy win for Kahn. I would even say it’s a mismatch

this guy needs help.really.he needs to find a new line of work.i never bought into any of this sham.there’s a lot of kids in gyms all over the planet that look great hitting the bag,the mitts, sparring and even fighting b,and c class opponents.the fact is amir khan was nothing but a hype job and now he is finished.deal with it.

your right, a true champion avenges his defeats, Khan has not done this so in my mind he is far from a true warrior champ,he’s more of a chump than a champ.

khan is a good boxer fast hand speed quick movements but the big thing that will let him down is he cant take a punch when that happens his lights go out gutted for him but thats the truth where does he go now start from the beginning again and to fight mccloskey that would be a poor fight for him.

What’s khan thinking, he looked crap against Mcloskey first time around and he will again, crap mix of styles and a crap fight to watch and number two will be the same, period!

THis article is just clickbait.

have to agree with juneau

Khan has looked awful in recent fights where he has shown tendancy to miss alot! if you study his fights he is very flash with alot of skill, but he has no punch resistance and also not a very accurate puncher as he misses more than he connects. The Mcklosky fight was stopped prematurely much like alot of Khans fights, even though Mcklosky was boring and hardly threw a punch you could have put a bet that there was a slight chance Khan might tire himself out by awful missing and get sparked out.

As an Irishman I know I am being a tad biased, but this article is very cruel. I’ll admit that the Prescott decision was questionable, but on the other side, so was Peterson’s was it not? And to say McCloskey barely laid a glove on Khan due to ‘lack of hand speed'(?), well Khan also was not able to land and looked very amateurish in trying to do so. The fight should never have been stopped either, although I do believe Dudey was getting into the fight a little more as it went on, he never was going to win on the night.

NO! Us Brits do not like the idea of Khan facing McCloskey… Perhaps it will sell in Ireland, but to be honest both men are rebuilding their careers….

It makes sense for Amir as McCloskey is a non-puncher and counter puncher who will not put too much pressure on Amir, who thus can hit and move and win this bout going away…..

It’s not a bad matchup of sorts as McCloskey feels he never got the chance to show what he could do as he feels their previous bout was stopped prematurely!

I personally never PPV’d a Khan fight as I always thought Golden Boy tried to force him down our necks when in fact he hadn’t really been tested before Maidana and he was never as good to us as he or Golden Boy thought he was.
