Good pointPosted January 11, 2014 4:21 pm
Guys when i say certain fighters are very strong that does not mean they are hard punchers ,,certain fighters are very strong but they don’t have a knock out punch ,,example Jorge Ahumada was very strong but he didn’t have a knockout punch ,,a good example Jake La Motta ,the Raging Bull was a very strong fighter ,but he did not have a knock out punch .Posted January 10, 2014 8:22 pm
To Dinamita 313 ,, Of course a lot of Mexican fighters can pack a punch , example ” Pepino Cuevas ” Rueben Olivarez ” Romero Anaya ” Julio “Cesar Chavez “To name just a few ..I’m not saying that Mexican fighters are not strong ,what i’m saying is that the Argentine boxers posted by this writer were all very strong fighters not necessary big punchers but very strong the kind of strength that can push you around . Yes Sergio Martinez is a very talented athlete , he has great movement and is very smart inside the ring ,but he also has great strength even though he is more of a boxer then a brawler .Posted January 10, 2014 7:58 pm
@ Jack Dempsey Argentine fighters r very strong but we can make a case for alot of mexican fighters packing a punch too. That being said one of the best Argentine boxers ever Sergio Martinez is a great fighter who put Argentina on the map again and didnt have a big punch mostly skills and boxing. would u agree with that?Posted January 10, 2014 12:37 pm
People please stop talking about glass jaw khan. That poor guy has done nothing in boxing and never will. him vs mayweather is a joke and disrespect to true boxing fans. maidana has earned a shot at a big payday fight. Respect is earned its not given.Posted January 10, 2014 12:28 pm

Dignified and boxing is an oxymoron. That said, Broner going down was one of the more enjoyable moments of 2013.

Maidana did a good number on Broner & could do it again if the Problem is foolish enough to want rematch soon, other interesting fights ahead are vs Thurman, Khan, Matthyse, Porter, Alexander & Peterson. Future looks bright for this dude. Mayweather might also be an option too.Posted January 9, 2014 1:11 pm

Dignity RESTORED? Where did it ever go???Posted January 9, 2014 11:35 am
I think he is too small for WW. If he does indeed plan at staying at WW he better learn some better foot work because standing there with your feet in cement will not work. Won’t work at Jr WW neither.Posted January 9, 2014 11:07 am
Broner bouncing back on the top level at 147 is hardly possible. He’s a bully who can’t put three punches together. Watching the fight over a few times I see that he takes no power with him from his former divisions, has only moderate IQ, and his immolation of Floyd’s shoulder roll is as bad as Berto’s. In fact, if AB does stay at 147 a stinker match with Berto would be a nice undercard – something we can spectate part-time while getting snacks ready for the headliner. AB’s attitude towards Maidana before the fight was appalling for the business and embarrassing for the Americans he represented. His post fight comments are not much better and rubs fan’s noses in his “I’m still rich” load of poo.Posted January 9, 2014 10:49 am
Just my kind of fighters. Warriors with big hearts & not afraid to be hit to give one or two in return to give the viewing public tons of excitement. Skillful & defensive boxers are okay in a way just to go to the kitchen & make a brew without missing much really.Posted January 9, 2014 8:55 am
I predicted Maidana would knock AB down at least once or twice in this fight. Maidana proved to be a more polished boxer under Garcia than I anticipated and he stole the show that night.
Broner will bounce back but asking for a match again with Maidana will just crush ABs spirit. I give AB credit for wanting to jump back in at 147 with AB but I see the same outcome so he needs to move on from this loss IMO.

Finally the winner is being talked about. Let’s see where Maidana’a career will now go to. Maidana vs. a slugger, Maidana vs. a boxer, Maidana vs. a counter-puncher.. All look exciting..Posted January 9, 2014 3:47 am
What do most of these Argentine fighters have in common ?? Incredible strength ,,yes !! Argentine fighters or even soccer players have above average strength . Mexican fighters have iron chins well most of them do ..and Mexican fighters have a big heart it’s rare to see them quit . But they are not as strong as the Argentine fighters . I’m not saying the Argentine fighters are the best ,,NO ,,but some thing in their genes makes them very strong .Posted January 9, 2014 2:47 am
