Virgil Hunter’s advise to Khan.
” Don’t get hit”.

Boxie, when you say you commend AMIR for humbling himself by taking your advice is certainly prophetic ….I mean taking advice from a knob doesn’t come across as shrewd….By the way El Guru have you given advice to other dignitaries we should be aware of……Was it you who advised Khan to fight Breddis……

Daly Jnr….regarding your posts…ESB showed me them and asked if they could print them…after debating I decided to block them….You can take this higher, but higher than me is GOD…..Good day….

“chin transplant”….and he’d be back in his winning ways!

virgil has his work cut out, if Roach couldn’t tame khan no one will be able to. Amir has no one to blame but himself. Stinks because when khan losses he will just rip into hunter like he did to roach. c’mon……

Posted September 30, 2012 6:11 pm

TARK

It’s hard to follow advice when Roach is telling Khan to hold–and Khan has no clinching skills… You can only do what you know.

Posted September 30, 2012 5:25 pm

Khan is so thick, its nothing to do with the trainer, Khan doesnt listen in the corner to advice given so whoever he is with it wont make a difference he will contiue to fight in his amateur style, backing up in straight lines and trying to go toe to toe with punchers. He has all the attributes to be an excellent fighter but he is either too stupid or too ignorant to follow a game plan or instructions.

KOrnerman

Khan is in an interview on sky sports saying Virgil Hunter will give him “100%” of his time, how does he work that one out the guy’s not just gonna forget about his protégée Ward, wtf?

Posted September 30, 2012 5:14 am

KOrnerman

p.s great pic of Khan doing “the noodle”, quality.

Posted September 30, 2012 5:03 am

KOrnerman

I hate to keep saying the truth but maybe Khan fans are a bit thick like him and need retold so its time to face FACTS! YOU CANT PUT MUSCLES ON CHINS!!!!!!!

where have my comments gone now?

Posted September 30, 2012 4:58 am

Boxtradamus

I COMMEND Khan for humbling himself by taking MY advice. I SAID that he should dump Roach and hire Hunter or Floyd Sr. and Khan took heed to MY warning. Now he is on his way to new heights in his career. Once Hunter boosts Khan’s Boxing IQ he’ll be a tough nut to crack.

Posted September 30, 2012 2:50 am

TARK

Not that Danny Garcia is a brawler. He’s a kid with great all around skills and knew Khan’s weaknesses very well from watching his fights. Garcia was cool as ice when his corner was going nuts with concern and advice. Danny smiled. He saw things they never saw and knew he was going to nail Khan sooner or later.

Havoc says.., “Professional boxing don’t use head gear to protect their chin.” … Competition headgears don’t protect your chin.. They protect your ears, temples, cheeks, eyes, and head to a certain extent.. Your nose mouth and chin are pretty much fair game.

Well said Spiderico.

Havoc and Curleyq- I guess I dont see it. Like I said Im not a fan but when he got KOD in 1 against Presott he was what 21? If I remember correctly he just switched trainers to some Cuban guy which was probably a team decision. At 25 hes still young enough to compete at a high level and Kings gym is pretty close to my house and I’ll definitely check him out. And also the china chin remark to me is someone who gets touched and gets KOD. Hes been with some big hitters and got rocked and kept fighting (I was rooting for Maidana).

Posted September 30, 2012 12:09 am

The Kingslayer

I don’t get why everyone is so shocked with the choice, he’s coming off a heavy knockout loss and has just hired a new trainer.

God Save The Queen

A Light Weight?? WTF Khan proving what by having this fight???
Wasn’t he talking about moving to WW now he fights a light weight?? The guy is looking after his chinny chin chin or what lmao

1-2 just read all the posted comments in here that should fill you in!

Havoc- I’m not a fan of his one way or the other, but as a boxing fan give credit to him for what hes accomplished in both amateurs and the pro ranks. It seems a lot of hate towards him. Maybe being from the US I dont see his comments as much. Maybe you can fill me in

KOrnerman sums it up pretty well

“He’s one of these guys that knows best EVERYTIME, even when he’s getting beat in his mind what he is doing is working, any trainer who takes him on has his work cut out so good luck to him he will need it.”

Posted September 29, 2012 5:34 pm

Havoc

1-2 silver medalist in the Olympics yes! But professional boxing don’t use head gear to protect there chin! Maybe Khan needs to demand that to all his fights from now on. If they allow him then he can get back to the top! Lol!

Posted September 29, 2012 5:34 pm

ok so Ward and Hunter have been a team since Ward was a kid. That’s why they are so successful. When Molina ko’s Khan perhaps he will realize he has brain damage .

Posted September 29, 2012 5:29 pm

1-2

Please inform me why Khan gets so much trash thrown his way. Ive seen him since 04 Athens when he was a 17 yo kid earning a silver. Then yes gets KOD a few times but he never quit and got up each time. Thats heart! Only a select few can walk through big shots and those guys are punchy at 45. Now that hes with Virgil I for one will make my way to Kings to check him out

Found it……….Muhammad Rachman (64-10-5, 33 KOs) IBF AND WBA mini flyweight world champion. From indonesia. Khan needs to take a look at warriors like this guy before he makes excuses

@flydog
You crazy man!!

Posted September 29, 2012 2:16 pm

Ive had enough of Khans excuses. Hes on his 3rd trainer in 4 years now. It aint his fault his chin aint up to the task, but he has to grow up and stop blameing evryone else. The 2 possible opponents he went for are non punchers (molina and mccloskey), thats no way to make it back to the top. He has lost alot of respect even in the UK with his crap. Does anyone remember the guy (possibly indian) who fought his way to 2 world titles with some local kid holding pads, his wife holding a clock, hitting rice bags, and traveling once a week to a gym for sparring? Im sure he was a mini flyweight, i just cant remember his name

Posted September 29, 2012 2:14 pm

Darren

Of course, Khan is fighting a guy who is a weight division lighter. Also, 7 KOs in 18 fights. Good work Golden boy…
enough already!

Posted September 29, 2012 1:46 pm

flydog

I wouldn’t say Khan has a china chin. Maidana hurt him but didn’t deck him and Peterson couldn’t score a knockdown despite pounding Khan against the ropes several times. Garcia found a bit of a sweet-spot behind Khan’s ear and he never got his legs back properly. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not Khan’s biggest fan by a long-shot but I try to be objective. Skills-wise Khan had the beating of Garcia. Hunter needs to keep Khan boxing, using his movement and speed. His power is only average and his defence needs lots of work. We’ll see. . .

with the right training for molina who knows he could be stronger and hit a lil hard but khan chin is weak so i wouldn be surprised if molina stun him if he catch him right

A new trainer can’t help a suspect chin. you can’t train a chin or heart!

Posted September 29, 2012 12:58 pm

According to Khan, the only reason he got hurt at 135lbs was because he struggled with the limit.

LOL!

Posted September 29, 2012 12:52 pm

khan got hurt by less punchers like willie limond who to say molina cant do it if yalll saying khan chin that weak if he land right who knows what can happen

Posted September 29, 2012 12:48 pm

just cause he havent stopped anybody that mean he cant hit you act like i said he have mike tyson type of power i just said he a solid puncher maybe he havent stopped anybody cause he fought durable fighters have u thought of that

Posted September 29, 2012 12:42 pm

HHLondon

“Strong solid power”? This kid hasn’t stopped anyone in almost THREE YEARS!

WTF are you talking about?

He’s a lightweight, four inches shorter with a 4 inch reach disadvantage!

Are you Khan’s publicist?

Another midget for the boy to feast on!

Crooks!

carlos molina is a solid fighter he strong solid power good body puncher and inside fighter but khan might be to experince for him tho but anybody with a good punch got a chance against khan cause of his chin it be interesting to see how looked with virgil hunter just cause virgil had succes with andre ward dnt mean it going to be the same for khan ward been with hunter all his life khan just started with hunter we see how plays out

He should have picked Katsidis, much better match up, winnable, still holds a bit of weight but would give him some confidence and a bit more credibility

Lots of heart, but a terribly whiny personality, makes him so unlikeable. hope he gets flattened again soon.

Posted September 29, 2012 11:00 am

 Khan said Guzman wasn’t in his league and then called out Matthysse, Khan then precedes to fight light-hitting lightweight (ranked 76th @135lb) Molina. That’s so Khan.

Posted September 29, 2012 10:54 am

Pappy Mason

lol its a different Carlos Molina.

Posted September 29, 2012 10:16 am

Na dude. Khan does have a glass chin but I still think he’s pretty good and has a ton of potential. This trainer switch could be huge for him.

Posted September 29, 2012 10:12 am

the public

Khan again steps up. Definitely pulling for this dude. A LOT OF HEART and skills that can put him in special places.

Posted September 29, 2012 10:10 am

flash knock down

I have always been a big faf of Khan now he has a great trainer who is really smart as well. The only thing that might get in the way is Hunter has Ward and just like Freddie Roach no one comes before Manny and no one will come before Ward. Khan hs as much boxing skills as anyone in the game he just needs to stick with his game plan once the bell rings. Khan does not have a glass chin lets not for get that these are the best fighters in the world he is fighting they are trained to knock anyone out. They don’t need to fix anything in Khan he is not brooken they just need to tweak him. Khjan is a good fighter better than most out there I believe Hunter will get the most out of him.

Posted September 29, 2012 10:05 am

KOrnerman

No matter who trains him he wont put muscles on his chin, end of.

Posted September 29, 2012 9:57 am

KOrnerman

he will have to face a big puncher sooner or later and we all know what happens then.

Posted September 29, 2012 9:56 am

couldn’t have put it better myself, well done.

Hidalgo

First you laud Khan’s boxing skills, then you call him a fraud. Is your name Sybil?

Posted September 29, 2012 9:52 am

Hidalgo

Khan has consistently fought higher caliber opponents in his division than Chavez Jr. has in his. Also, had Peterson not tested positive for PEDs, Khan would have already fought a rematch with him. That blows your theory on rematches.

Posted September 29, 2012 9:52 am

Anonymous

My thoughts exactly.

Posted September 29, 2012 9:49 am

Hidalgo

Two things: The author of this article said that Khan was “…looking forward to stepping back in the ring against a live opponent..” I wasn’t aware Khan fought dead opponents. Secondly: Khan said “I always want to face hungry young fighters” Wow, Amir are you 40 years old already? Anways, I’m looking forward to see what Virgil can do with Amir. My money say Khan will start emulating Ward just like he emulated Pacquiao when training under Roach. I hope Hunter defines Khan’s style and builds upon it. That’s what will make Khan a champion again–not mimographing other boxers.

Posted September 29, 2012 9:48 am

spiderico

He thought Roach would turn him in to Manny Pacquio. Now he thinks Hunter will make him Andre Ward. He’s not in either fighters league.

Posted September 29, 2012 9:30 am

ozzy

I can’t criticise Khan for not coming back against a big puncher – the past couple of years have been pretty bad for the lad. I would imagine his confidence will be pretty low and he needs to build it up before going anywhere near the big punchers of the division. I think he’s done the right thing to go with Virgil Hunter and I’ll be interested to see if Mr Hunter can get him boxing again. I wish the lad all the best.

Posted September 29, 2012 8:53 am

rumpole

Hopefully Hunter can stop Khan from panicking and throwing his game-plan out of the window every time he gets tagged. Copey – I think you certainly know WHO Khan is, lol. I thought the Limond count was a bit dodgy too though, Khan was in all sorts of trouble and got a little help from the ref there IMO.

Posted September 29, 2012 8:40 am

ozzy

Khan tried to get a rematch with Garcia – it was Garcia’s choice to go with Morales. Maybe they’ll fight at sometime in the future.

Posted September 29, 2012 8:38 am

huh

Khan is such a loser he won’t rematch any of his loses. Definitely not champ material. I’m actually more sick of the hype around Khan than I am about Chavez Jr. Why does Khan keep getting more chances to be a star? He is crap. Chavez may have fought a lot of bums but at least he didn’t lose to them!

Posted September 29, 2012 7:34 am

hookoffthejab

why is this kook a mere con fighting a junior middleweight :?: :?:

***

This isn’t the junior middleweight Carlos Molina, this is the light-hitting LIGHTWEIGHT Carlos Molina. This guy can’t punch is only 5’6″ and is fringe contender at lightweight.

Posted September 29, 2012 6:59 am

A.J

SO YOU DO KNOW WHO KHAN IS THEN.

Posted September 29, 2012 6:57 am

What!?!

I don’t underestimate Khans skills for boxing. He could just about box the ears of anyone out there. Unfortunately this fraud has a chin made of china. His comeback fight is against a light hitter who is a lot smaller than himself. Good work on the match up, but when Khan eventually reaches the belt level he will be exposed for the glass jawed pretender he is.

Posted September 29, 2012 6:51 am

copey

Amir WHO? who is Amir Khan? Is he that kid that got floored to a 12 count against Willie Limond? Is he that kid that got droped twice and knocked out stone cold by Prescott? Is he the kid that got floored wy drug-alcoholic Gomez? was he the guy that won a fight that should of been called of fo health related stoppage against Maidana? was he the guy that used 7 different acusations to vindicate his loss to Peterson? was he the guy that got bradley stripped of two titles while tim was leaving manager and gettin 5m pac fund? was he the guy that Got knoced out in 4 rds by a guy that predicted 3 rds and nearly got it in garcia? who knows what will happen against weak puncher Molina! khan could still get knocked out stone cold
