Broner didn’t even beat Paulie Malignaggi. Broner is a modern-day smoke n mirrors fraudster who got his ass handed to him by Maidana.

If he losses twice people are talking about his career… You people make me sick. When it comes to your favorite fighter its "losses don't matter" . but if you don't like a guy its " if he losses again his career is over. LMAO you idiots are amazing. MAIDANA HAS THREE LOSSES.. But I bet you really don't care about maidana.. All you want is that big mouth broner to go away and shut up lol…there is something strange about peoples psyche- where they choose to vilify certain people, ignore others, and praise some..

Is BOXTRA finding it too difficult to admit that he was wrong? Even my grandchildren admit when they are wrong. Being a REAL man does have it’s drawbacks and admitting when YOU’RE wrong is one of them, huh?? Oh well, actually, this doesn’t surprise me in the least. What a shame, you could’ve redeemed yourself. Another opportunity ridiculously wasted due to your OVERBLOWN ego. Sad, huh?? Oh well… ’nuff said.

Broner still hasn’t learned how to properly give credit to another fighter for winning — even if it’s against him. Maidana should just turn the fight down even if it’s only for general principle — why should he bother a 2nd time around with the same, old, disgusting arrogant creep that disrespected him before, during, and after their fight.

Posted January 13, 2014 3:08 am

BOXTRA ahhh.. Once again your “facts” aren’t facts. Broner ISN’T the youngest 3 division champion. Need a hint?? Okay, ‘google’ and checkout a fighter named WILFRED BENITEZ, you might’ve heard of him before. Broner was almost 24 yrs old when did it. Benitez was TWENTY TWO! And I think you might want to review the record of an ATG fighter of his era by the name of Tony Canzoneri’s record too. I believe he accomplished that feat at a very young age too, during a rather confusing title situation of that era. Oh well… later!

Posted January 13, 2014 2:02 am

truth

Who did he fight for those titles? The first belt was a vacated belt they fed him a bum to get that belt. Demarco packed it in. And then he lost to Malignaggi that was easily 7-5 or 8-4 Malignaggi. You can’t win fight without throwing punches at the elite level. The kid is decent just not great.

AB is too hard headed to not want a rematch. That’s why he hung tough and let MM beat on his a$$ the entire fight. If his skill matched his will he’d be the best thing out there but, his skill set is a notch below elite and as a result he will never get where his heart wants to go in boxing. Correct me if I’m wrong but , did AB look one dimensional or what! That for me was his test. Can AB adjust when faced with a guy that keeps coming forward throwing big bombs and not being phased by ABs power? AB failed the test. Next time you see AB it will be when he’s serving your food and the local burger joint.LOL

Broner the moaner can’t fight like Mayweather, we can all see that, he can’t move like him, can’t fight like him, and certainly can’t defend like him, so it makes no difference, Maidana will close Broner down and will deck him again, more than once, and the next time the fight will be stopped. Broner has been exposed and nothing he says or does from now will change that. Every good fighter from 135 to 147 must be hoping they get Broner. He’s another Jeff Lacy. Joe Calzaghe beat the heck out of Lacy over 12 rounds and Lacy was never the same again. Maidana did the same to Broner, if not worse. Once Broner takes on a world class fighter again, he’ll be nailed, again.

I guess Broner didn't learn anything from his loss or the fact that he had trash thrown at him after the fight. Some guys are just STUPID! Adrian didn't do anything to warrant a rematch. He should have to build himself back-up before demanding another shot at the champ.

“GBP is setting up Maidana for a defeat so they can still cash on Broner.” – Agreed Papo. There was no rematch clause but now GBP is making Maidana do the rematch and will get judges to skew the scoring. All Broner has to do is see the final bell and he’ll get the decision. I’ll bet he tries to fight more like Floyd, with movement, holding and pot shots. That’ll make it go from an all action brawl in their first bout to a snorebore decision win for Broner in the rematch. Broner nut huggers will say he’s fighting smart. GBP will agree.

There is no real need for a rematch if the first win was convincing enough Broner needs to fight Devon Alexander or Timothy Bradley as they would smash him to pieces too.Broner is too full of himself and can do with a beating again preferably from Tim Bradley, who’ll beat him real good.

Posted January 11, 2014 8:08 pm

PAPO without a doubt GBP will do everything to make sure maidana loses the rematch however, its stupid because paulie beat him and its clear broner all though good and willing isn’t elite. i feel really sorry for broner because i bet floyd pushed him to take the rematch – ADRIEN if your reading this which you probably are “big brother” has pushed you to risk your career against a dangerous puncher for £3 million ( and doing his dirty work) so he can take an easy £40 million aganist feather fisted china chinned Khan. just think about that before you sign any contracts

Posted January 11, 2014 6:31 pm

Papo

Fight Aficionado, I agree, that’s why I said there’s something wrong here. During the fight I heard one of the a announcers saying there was no rematch clause and now you saying that Schaefer said “after the beat-down that there was no rematch clause” means something is not right.

Like I mentioned before, GBP were sure Broner would be his cash cow, his golden goose or what Pac has been for Arum throughout many years. It wouldn’t surprise me if GBP is setting up Maidana for a defeat so they can still cash on Broner. Some may believe this would be farfetched, but where money is involved not a thing can be excluded.

Posted January 11, 2014 6:08 pm

Fight Aficionado

Schaefer said after the beatdown that there was no rematch clause. Now he says there is. Obv they rigged it. He’s too smart to not know the facts of a contract so disregard the possibility it was an honest mistake.

Why not have a rematch in Argentia it being Maidana’s home country? He is the champs so he should decide if there will be a rematch and the decide where it will be held. The smart move is to have the rematch in Argentina so that he doesn’t get ripped off by a bad decision. Hopefully this time he’ll knock mouth-almightly Broner out. Face down for a couple of minutes.

Posted January 11, 2014 4:44 pm

No chance does Broner deserve a rematch, but if they put up enough money and Maidana agrees he should insist that it takes place in Argentina. In any case, Broner will get f***ed up again, probably worse this time. He survived the 2nd round of this one by holding and hugging like a desperate b****, and round 8 by cheating and bad acting. If there’s plenty of money for Maidana in it, sure, he should take it — but again, it should happen in Argentina this time.

IMO, Maidana is at-least at Pacquiao’s* marketing level and worthy of challenging Garcia, Thurman, or Mayweather. his body of work at welter is solid. including tough wins and losses and featuring Maidana’s notorious resilience. any fighter with a serious claim on welter supremacy needs to seriously consider Maidana as a future opponent. his career is experiencing a huge second wind and Maidana has never fought better or been worthier of the biggest possible matchups.

Broner may have already overstayed his welcome at 147lbs. Judah never recovered from a similar tour of duty. i say feed Broner to Soto-Karass who recently defeated another wannabe-Mayweather clone. he’s also got a swarming style that could also overwhelm Broner over 12 or even 10 rounds. after all, Soto-Karass represents the basic admission price into the deep welter division, these days. if Broner can’t overcome that challenge, he’s not worthy of venturing any deeper.

Something doesn’t seem to be right though. I’m pretty sure it was mentioned during the fight about no clause for a rematch. As a matter of fact, up until now, no one, including Broner mentioned about a rematch clause. Now, suddenly, after Maidana questioned whether Broner really deserve a rematch, there’s supposedly a rematch clause.

TJ mentioned “Has this rematch been sanctioned and ordered by the WBA or has MAIDANA given Broner a rematch or been leaned on by the fairy godfathers at Team GBP to give him a rematch, to prevent him getting a decent payday himself vs Floyd?” and then, “Those would be decent questions for you boys to investigate and let us know. Wouldn’t they?”

First, it wouldn’t surprise me a bit, especially as corrupted boxing promoters and managers can be that someone is looking for a way to force Maidana into a rematch. Golden Boy Promotion (GBP), as well as boxing in general, was looking for Broner to be the next darling of boxing. By beating Broner, Maidana, not being as big of a draw derail those plans. My guess is GBP is hoping that if Broner can beat Maidana on a rematch, they’ll get their “golden goose” back.

Again, it’s strange that up until now there was no mentioned of a rematch clause, not by Broner or his handlers, no by GBP or any the boxing media. There’s something fishy and it may get stinky as days go by. And to TJ, you are one of those who you called “so-called journos”, perhaps you boy should investigate it and “let us know”.

Broner is so deluded it’s funny. He just doesn’t get it, hardly anyone likes him and they can’t wait to see him lose again. I’d like to see him fight Serena Williams, I’d take Serena to beat the crap out of Broner.

Hey Boner, everyone is talking about you getting your ass handed to you for Christmas, wake up and smell the coffee, Mayweather Wannabee.

That wasn’t just a loss . It was full exposure. Like a majic trick gone bad lol

EL Chino will take this fight because its easy work for him! He knows he can get paid a million dollars to whoop this chump! I would beat his ass again! Broner is trash! That will be 2 losses in a row and I think this time he will be KO’d! What is going to say when he loses this time?

Jab

Is Broner kidding? Everybody is talking about how impressive Maidana looked in giving him the unforgettable humiliating beating of his life, and the embarrassing way fans chased him out of Texas. IT”S THE TALK OF THE TOWN. The subject fans are debating now is whether he will ever be the same again while waiting for the forced GBP rematch.

Tomato Can

Maidana shouldn’t feel obligated to grant the rematch. If wants to, great; if not he should do what he wants it’s his career. Broner on the other hand wants to erase his loss. There’s nothing he can do about. Even if he beats Maidana in a rematch that lopsided loss will be there. And other fighters will evaluate it and use it against him.

The reason for my previous comment (see below) has nothing to do with comments here. That was a statement by one of the announcers. At the moment I cannot recall at what stage of the fight the statement was made, but I’m positive that the statement about “no clause” was made.

Broner is crazy. People are talking about Maidanas win and saying Broner wasn’t what he was made out to be. He didn’t get out hustled. He got whooped

Just for the fun of it, here’s Rios admitting Pacquiao f’d him up and complementing Pacquiao on his speed. Starts at about the :55 mark of the video, but the whole video is very entertaining:

I thought that in the post-fight interview, Robert Garcia said that Maidana’s contract didn’t have a rematch clause but that if he wanted a rematch they would give it to Broner. Here’s a clip of Maidana after the fight saying he’d give Broner a rematch. Twice. I gues now that Maidana’s had time to think about it he changed his mind.

I love your comment re ‘gossip tabloid.’

I find myself regularly ignoring the journos words, which are rehashed anyway and only read the comments from the posters, who seem to have more insight into the headlines than the columnists anyway!

All good fighters talk this way — they find a way to justify a loss — i.e off night, injury, illness, weight loss, bad trainer, wrong fight plan, etc. The really good ones rebound and even the score. We’ll see what Broner does, what he’s made off — just don’t be surprised to see the outcome of Maidana v Broner 2 ends with Broner’s hand raised.

Negro king-really?

The Negro King

Broner had an off night. He is a magnificent Negro prizefighter! Also, he’s handsome, elegant, intelligent, sweet. He’s really ideal! The Negro King sayeth, “bet all your money on Broner”. This fine Negro will go down in history!!

“Well, can one of you so-called journos do your job …”

Thank you, TJ, and no kidding. This articles on this website often remind me more of a gossip tabloid than anything else.

What a fool. Broner’s loss IS Maidana’s win. LMAO! Talk about denial.

Naturally, Adrian, you jerk ball, you were the one shooting off his mouth and acting out anal sex instead of training, fighting, and winning.

Broner needs to drop in weight. 147 is not the place for him at this point of his career. He’s just not ready for these guys.

Broner was so confident about defeating Maidana that he didn’t bother to include a rematch clause. It’s up to Maidana to decide whether or not he’ll give Broner a rematch.

Posted January 10, 2014 11:52 pm

PAPO Wrote the above, because you ESB so-called journos told us there was no rematch clause.

Well, can one of you so-called journos do your job and some investigation (which involves picking up a phone and asking a credible source – perhaps someone at the WBA, Maidana’s management or someone at Team GBP or even get off your wide, fat behinds and go in person and interview one of the aforementioned sources) and find out the truth on this matter?

Broner cannot have a rematch clause if no such clause was signed prior to their December bout. Has this rematch been sanctioned and ordered by the WBA or has MAIDANA given Broner a rematch or been leaned on by the fairy godfathers at Team GBP to give him a rematch, to prevent him getting a decent payday himself vs Floyd?

Those would be decent questions for you boys to investigate and let us know. Wouldn’t they?
