Why does Bute look on the verge of tears? He looks like Michael Spinks before he fought Mike Tyson. Or Patterson before the Liston fights.Posted January 18, 2014 7:21 pm
I hope Pascal shaves that moustache. It really doesn’t suit him, and by the looks of it he’ll have problems putting his mouth-guard in.Posted January 18, 2014 1:39 pm
Agree w Mr. Jones and Annonymous – Bute does not look confident at all. Pascal has fought the much better oppoistion and fared better against Froch. I’ll take Pascal by brutal knockoutPosted January 18, 2014 11:57 am
If Pascal comes out fast hard and heavy, I think he’ll stop Bute early.Posted January 18, 2014 11:43 am
Bill Patrice Jones
I’ll admit you don’t often see it at the elite vs elite level, but Bute looks uncertain and slightly intimidated to me. Don’t worry about him physically, he looks as ripped and muscular as he has always done during his IBF title reign, he just seemed a little off colour in terms of mindset. I strongly believe that the Froch defeat was so utterly devastating, not only physically but also emotionally, that he will struggle to come to terms with it until he records another significant ego boosting win. Some fighters are ruined in a single night. It almost invariably occurs when that fighter is at the top level, on the best run of their career, is expected to win or to at least provide an impressive showing and are completely humiliated in a horribly unexpected one sided beating. Notable examples include what Joe Calzaghe did to Jeff Lacy and what Vitali Klitschko did to Samuel Peter and what Kelly Pavlik did to Jermain Taylor. The same principle may yet apply to Bute because of the Froch fight. This doesn’t mean that he is, or was, not a great fighter. Boxing is a terribly cruel and demanding sport. People can be crushed. Bute MUST MUST take total advantage of his speed for the first 3-4 rounds before looking to score more decisively. Bute, if he is completely on point, is more than capable of outspeeding Pascal. If Pascal is sharing the spoils early then Bute wont get into his rhythm and if he can’t do that he can’t win.Posted January 18, 2014 6:08 am
The confident Bute, years ago, would win a clear-cut decision.
If Pascal boxes Bute, Bute should win this one, Pascal not being the Pascal who fought Froch years ago.
If Pascal goes for the KO, goes foreward, I don’t see Butes chin holding up.
When you have to look at the bright points, regarding Bute, he showed some real skill, in the last round of the Grachev fight. He did put a hard man, like Andrade down, in the second fight, with a surprise bodypunch.
Bute is always exciting to watch, because he can go from fantastic to hopeless.Posted January 18, 2014 6:06 am
I thought Bute was fighting Pascal………………but they guy he is facing eye to eye looks like Cheech. Who is Chong fighting?Posted January 18, 2014 3:40 am
Bute looks like a dead man walking… He looks weak… He looks scared… He doesn’t look ready…and didn’t look ready for his last 2 fights … Pascal looks like he’s ready for 12 — but doesn’t believe it will last that long.Posted January 18, 2014 3:01 am
Pascal looks ripped and ready. Bute will be knocked into retirement at the end of this one.Posted January 18, 2014 12:05 am
What the feck has Pascal got covering his trap???Posted January 17, 2014 4:56 pm
I like Bute by unanimous decision.Posted January 17, 2014 4:49 pm

Pascal might have this one, but i’d don’t mind foul-tasting crows if Bute kick this hyped crap.Posted January 17, 2014 4:18 pm
