Manny Pacquiao’s offer to fight for charity has landed the final blow in the war of words between Floyd Mayweather and himself. A war that Floyd Mayweather started. Manny Pacquiao is truly an honorable man of GOD. Money, materials and fame mean nothing to him. This is a man of genuine true character. He understands that money, materials and fame mean absolutely nothing. One day we will all pass on and we cannot take anything with us. Manny Pacquiao is building a story that he will leave behind for others to follow. He knows boxing is only a small part of his life. He understands that there are people he doesn’t know and will never meet, but they look up to him. A child gazing at Manny and looking at how he handles himself. The world is watching him and they look to see how he handles, defeat, money, materials, criticism and the ups and downs of life. Manny Pacquiao, the biggest little man in the world is handling life inside and outside the ring with class. He has put Floyd Mayweather in a position to show his true character and motivation. And people are also looking at him. Yes, Floyd is also a role model to many, and so far he has failed in his true character as a boxer, but more importantly as a man. Floyd treasure his wordily possessions more than life. He boasts, brags, and let’s people know what he is all about. Floyd “MONEY” Mayweather is admittingly all about money, himself, his pride, his ego. This is a story of GOOD vs BAD. LOST vs FOUND, POOR vs RICH & HUMILITY vs EGO. I feel somewhat sorry for a man like Floyd Mayweather that is a lost man. He has his priorities misaligned. Manny Pacquiao started fighting as a 16 year old. He had nothing. He took a chance on becoming something. He succeeded. Manny never let go of his true values but only for a short time as he dazzled in the devil’s world, and found out he was headed the wrong way. He repented, and has been a model for others to follow. Not a perfect man by any stretch of the imagination, but a man that saw his faults and corrects them. As a fighting warrior, Manny exemplifies excellence, humility and sportsmanship. This from man that slept on the streets, sold donuts and bread to help his mother to make ends meet. The last few years, Manny Pacquiao has had personal and professional challenges to overcome. Many thought he would quit and go away. They questioned his character. They laughed and posted disrespectful pictures of Manny Pacquiao as his family had to endure it all. Still, his fans watched to see how Manny would handle himself. Manny kept his head up, trusted God and continues his quest for redemption with grace, peace and love on his shoulders. Manny Pacquiao will have left more than just fights videos to be remembered by. He will have left words or encouragement for those that have struggles in life. He will have left motivation and reassurance in their hearts. Manny Pacquiao is leaving an impact in not only boxing, but in this world for years to come. Floyd Mayweather should respond to Manny’s gesture and fight him or he should retire for good. Manny will always be a champion inside and outside the ring. Manny is the best.

Anonymous, what do you mean by “That was his head?” Cotto gave Pac a cauliflower ear. His right ear. It’s still there for all the world to see. If he didn’t bust his ear drum, fine. My mistake. But he did smash his ear. Pac had to go to the doc to get the excess blood and fluid drained from the cartilage in his ear so it wouldn’t look so bad after it healed.

a popped ear drum is pressure in the ear and if you but one finger in someones ear hartd enough it can pop. As for Floyd he hasn’t cemented anything he openly says legacy don’t pay the bills. His second hardest fight was many leftovers. He cant win a middle title cause he just aint that good. Manny is better than him! Heaps BETTER

That was a helluva punch too. But Pac took it and then stopped Cotto later in the fight. That was a helluva fight.

Gerry Cooney still has a lot of money, because he handled it correctly, and although he was a really good boxer, and I respect that, his business skills have nothing to do with his boxing legacy” ???????

Ali got punched a lot. He couldn’t defend like Floyd. Tyson got hit a lot but came into the ring in better shape than Ali ever did. Mike didn’t sustain as much permanent damage as Ali and still has his mental resources to earn great money with his “Disputed Truth” show. Good thing, because Don King screwed Mike real good, among others in his entourage. Tyson lost more time than Ali did. Mike was out 4 years.

Cooney was not a “real good boxer.” Even Gil Clancy said he lacked basic skills that a 4-round fighter should have. He could jab a bit and really punch with his great left hook when he was going good early in his career. That was it. He even lost that after the Holmes fight.

I think to many people look into this ” Floyd being a business man” junk. He isn’t anymore a business man than the pop boy bands out there. He has good business people around him. Beside all the (BUSINESS) crap, why does it matter? It’s only relevant in this tech. era, people used to care about boxing, not nut hugging a guy because of the money he makes? Mike Tyson and Ali got some of there money back with help, but lost all there ring earnings, it still didn’t change what they did in the ring. Gerry Cooney still has a lot of money, because he handled it correctly, and although he was a really good boxer, and I respect that, his business skills have nothing to do with his boxing legacy……(or at least they shouldn’t).

Floyd is a fantastic businessman but I wouldn’t call him a warrior…Manny faces all comers with the heart of a lion. Floyd throws few punches and does not try to end fights. The last few rounds of the Alvarez fight were a joke. He pranced around the ring like a ballerina until the bell. I have never filled Mayweather’s pockets by purchasing one of bis Ppvs and never will. I understand his mentality too well. Floyd will not fight Pacquiao because of his pride. He made false accusations against The pacman and tried to ruin his career. The entire mayweather caln is a bunch of cry babies who think boxing is more about avoiding punches than throwing them.

“My apologizes Manny did beat undefeated guys Ancient history you have to dig the the crates for that one it was so long ago.”

Oh, like Mayweather has been fighting and beating undefeated opponents right and left? Name them please. Here, I’ll do it for you, Alvarez in 2013, Hatton in 2007, and Corrales way back in the “crate” year of 2001. Uhhhhh, that’s it! THREE. His win over Hatton might qualify as one in the “crates” as well.

BTW, Pac KOd unbeaten Jorge Solis in 2007–same “crate” year as when Mayweather KOd Hatton. Pac TKOd Lucero in 2003, Hussein in 2000, Singsurat in 1999, Decierto in 1995, and had a UD win over Palma in 1995.

Yeah, dig the crates. Except for Corrales, Hatton and Alvarez, Mayweather has NEVER beaten any other undefeated fighters. Nor has he even fought them. Why?

“Largo says.., “Floyd would play with Pac for a few rounds & then he’ll proceed to take’im outta his misery for good; total mismatch.”

Floyd couldn’t knock Manny out if his life depended on it. Floyd only fights safe anmore. He does just enough to score enough points to get the win. He never puts himself on the line, he never goes for broke. He fights safe. He’s the all-time potshot king. He fought the same against Canelo as he did against Guerrero as he did against Mosley and Marquez. The last legit KO he earned was against Hatton a little over six years ago and the only one he’s scored since then was against the fool Ortiz who stood there like an idiot with his hands down by his sides and waiting. Last time Floyd truly engaged an opponent–Cotto–he got his nose busted and bloodied. After that fight he ran back to daddy to help him regain his potshot game so he could continue to be victorious while fighting safe.

Get real Largo. Floyd would never be able to KO Pac like Marquez did because Floyd doesn’t have the balls to put everything on the line. He never has either.

Skip Bayless – “Did Floyd DUCK Manny Pacquiao?”
50 CENT – “Yes. That’s a 100 million dollars, and he just left it. At this point, it’s more him sorting out who’s the perfect opponent than him fighting the toughest fighter to fight.”

STEPHEN A SMITH (longtime die-hard Floyd-supporter), ESPN. – “I’m saying because of the Manny Pacquiao I saw yesterday, I have to believe that Floyd is DUCKING.”

MIKE TYSON – “Hey listen, he doesn’t want to fight the guy, it’s obvious. I don’t know if he’s scared of him or not, but he just obviously doesn’t want to fight the guy.”

FLOYD MAYWEATHER SR. – “My son fighting that little man, I’m concerned about my son’s life.”

TIM BRADLEY – “Floyd doubts himself. Why won’t he fight Manny? Scared, man. He don’t wanna fight that. Floyd don’t wanna fight that. He don’t wanna see Manny in the ring.”

LARRY HOLMES – “Pacquiao did all he can. He did all I would have done. I think Mayweather just got a little too scared if you ask me. If he thinks Pacquiao is taking drugs so what, he should just say: ‘You take it, you kill yourself that isn’t going to help you, because with my talent and ability I believe I can still beat you.’ But he was scared to take that challenge. If they never fight it won’t be Pacquiao’s fault. Every time they came round to fighting, Mayweather put his excuses in.”

JAMES TONEY – “It shows you right there that Mayweather’s not a man. If you be the best fighter in the world, you fight the guys, know what I’m sayin’? No matter, don’t put down no stupid @$$ stipulations, right. Hey, he should be a little scared. And Pacquiao is proving he’s one of the best fighters in his era, in this decade.”

MICHAEL IRVIN – “I want Mayweather to stop messing around and making us brothers look bad by running. Okay, listen. Stop running, man. You’re making the brothers look bad. Get in the ring, even if you lose, it’s an honorable loss.”

ATG radio – “Do you really think that we’ll ever see Manny Pacquiao/Floyd Mayweather fight?”
GEORGE FOREMAN – “No. Not at all. No, it’s not gonna happen. Mayweather had a chance to do that fight years ago, and maybe for good reasons, he didn’t want it because there was a chance that , in early when he made up his mind to come back in boxing, Pacquiao would’ve run over him! Then they got a little even in time, and then Mayweather got pretty smart and understood, hey, why? I’m making all this money without fighting him, why fight him? So now there is definitely no reason to do it.”

FLOYD MAYWEATHER JR – “My health is more important than money. They can take all the money, my health is more important.”

dude i just watched el perro angulo vs lara for the first time and holy crap how about angulo!!!!! jacked LARA UP!!!! lara can definitely be stopped. he struggles on inside game. angulo dropped him and hurt him bad TWICE. seems trout was a perfect matchup for angulo style wise they both like to fight from a distance and keep a gap. angulo just closed it all night. gotta love that rugged angulo style willing to take shots and just relentlessly close that gap and fire. that fight was awesome to watch. i havent made past the first 3 rounds of the lara vs trout fight but it seems trout is not the barometer of skills people might think he is. then the freak eye thing! man el perro had a very good showing and really exposed lara. love it when the dog takes it to the street. angulo vs lara is a good’un. lara is not what i thought he was. if canelo can let the beast out and bang canelo vs lara would be so badASS!!!!! close that gap and rip them power shots and combos. that lara chin will crack!!!!! and thise will say PEACE IM OUT!!!!!

Boxing has been around since the dawn of time. Boxing was quite popular in ancient Rome both as a sport and as part of Gladiator contests. Fighters were looked upon as God’s. Boxing has came a long ways since that time. We have so many more titles and promoters that have ruined this beautiful sport, but today a man by the name of Floyd Joy Sinclair, better known by the boxing world as Floyd Mayweather Junior, has done irreparable damage to boxing. He has done the most cowardly act a boxer can do. He avoided a fighter that boxing fans all over the world wanted him to fight. The same fans that pay him his large salary. Fans praqctically begged him to take on the one fighter that was wreaking havoc on every fighter that dared step inside the squared circle with him. He was dismantling and annihilating the very same fighters Floyd Mayweather had beaten, but in a much more convincing fashion. Manny was breaking ribs, eye sockets, faces and their will to win. Manny Pacquiao came on the scene like no other fighter had before him. From a distance, Floyd Mayweather Senior, and Uncle Roger wanted to part of the hurricane that is Manny Pacquiao. Floyd Mayweather junior, his father and his uncle told the world that they did not want to put Floyd Mayweather Junior’s health and safety at risk. Floyd was in total awe of this destructive force of nature. The Mayweather family then began a distraction of sorts to fool boxing fans. They tried attacking Manny Pacquiao in the media by accusing him of using Performance Enhancing Drugs. They were sued, and settled and had to give Manny Pacquiao a large amount of money. Floyd also had to apologize publicly, and did. They then followed that up with money issues, promoter issues and a list of demands that were laughable. The ancient gladiators must be turning in their graves to see a man that calls himself a fighter doing all he can to avoid one fighter. Time has passed, and the Super Mega Fight is 5 years too late. The boxing world, specifically all the past and present fighters lost all respect for Floyd Mayweather Junior. Floyd has ruined his name, reputation and whatever legacy he had. Ask any person off the street, and they will tell you that Floyd was scared to fight Manny Pacquiao. Great fighters like Tyson, Holmes, Duran, Leonard, Hagler and many more now look at Floyd as nothing more than a scared fighter that padded his record to get wins, but not fight the best out there. Floyd Mayweather Junior should retire now. He has nothing else to prove because his true character is out in the open. Even if he should find the courage to fight the legendary Manny Pacquiao, the fight wouldn’t mean much. Their destiny was in the hands of Floyd Mayweather Junior, and he decided to let it pass by. Even his most loyal fans are dumbfounded and disappointed that Floyd chose not to fight. Truly great fighter take on the best of their era. Win or lose, they gain more respect from fans by taking risks instead of running away from opponents. Sugar Ray Robinson never ran, Roberto Duran never Ran, Evander Holyfield never ran, Oscar de La Hoya never ran and so on. Floyd Mayweather Junior ran. He committed the greatest sin any fighter could commit. He has failed boxing, himself and all of his peers, even those that are now resting in peace. Floyd Mayweather Junior can now do us all a huge favor and retire from boxing. He will not be missed. Cowards are very rarely ever remembered. The kids growing up today, his fans and boxing fans in general will only recall Floyd as the one that was scared to fight. The money, his wins, materials, ego and his climb to becoming a champion will be forgotten. Floyd will be remembered as a money making coward that was beaten by his own fear of the legendary and arguably the greatest fighter of all time, Manny Pacquiao.

Cotto busted Floyd’s nose but he busted Pacquiao EARDRUM. A busted nose is LESSER than a busted EARDRUM. Every doctor in the World agrees with ME on that. Also Floyd’s Defense WITH his Dad is GREATER than his Defense WITHOUT his Dad. Compubox agrees with ME on that. But even Floyd’s Defense WITHOUT his Dad is BETTER than Pacquiao’s and every Fighter that Roach has ever trained. What all this MEANS is that Pacquiao’s chances have gotten even SLIMMER since Floyd Sr. is back. SO referring to the Cotto Fight where Floyd Sr. was not the trainer is a NON factor in what would happen with Floyd Sr. As the trainer. You might want to refer to the Guerrero and Canelo Fights where Floyd didn’t even get busted LIP. WOW!!!

loyd Mayweather has cemented his reputation and the fighter that fought only for the money and not to fight and beat the best. His cowardly act of fighting Amir Khan is shameful. Amir Khan did exactly what do deserve this fight? Nothing, but since Floyd sees money in it, he goes right for it. He is an embarrassment to the history of boxing. His own peers continue to drop bomb shells on his already tainted and tarnished boxing reputation and legacy. Floyd is so incredibly insecure. He uses the same phrases over and over because he can’t come up with anything that people believe. We all see through this fasad. I recently read a column om Floyd and the tough fighters he avoided throughout his career. The man has talent, but no heart. He will never be looked upon as a great fighter rather a great business man that ran from the legendary Manny Pacquiao. Floyd must have every news station and satellites pointed directly at Manny Pacquiao. He follows every step and word associated with him. He is being eaten alive every time he hears the name Pacquiao. Floyd, your nightmare will be over once you fight arguably the greatest fighter of all time. Today, Manny is looked at as the better fighter. He is respected, honored, loved, admired, praised by his peers, all fans and the entire world. Manny Pacquiao is a breathe of fresh air. The man that came from the streets to arguably the greatest fighter of all time. Something Floyd Mayweather will never accomplish. Manny is the best.

Right…, Just like Floyd-Cotto was such a mismatch.. Funny thing was all that red stuff flowing out of Floyd’s nose because he got popped in it so many times… Pac stopped Cotto and Floyd couldn’t do that.

Floyd also said Cotto was the toughest opponent he every fought… But Cotto WASN’T the toughest opponent Trout ever fought. Cotto lost almost every round to Trout — but Trout was beaten half to death by Lara as he lost every round …. So who is Floyd going to fight???

Dela hoya said that if Floyd foght pac this year or next providing they both keep winning we are looking at numbers of 4 mill PPV

Posted January 18, 2014 2:18 am

Auzbox

well actually he has cracked 1 mill 6 times and as for 875 being bad numbers its the second best in the sport. So its like I guess if you follow a s h I t sport like soccer its the difference between man U and Chelsea. Both great but one gets better numbers. If he fights Bradley that could do 900 to 1 mill easy

Posted January 18, 2014 2:15 am

475.000 ppv is real poor guy. Thats bad considering Mannys ppvs have been on steady decline since his losses. The Bradley fight with Manny only did 875,000. I dont think he ever cracked 1 million, But Auzbox who else besides Floyd can Manny fight to generate big interest and Money?

Posted January 18, 2014 2:12 am

Auzbox

funny how all the floydoids say he should retire. If he beats Bradley he is 3 p4p best and maybe 2. If Floyd has to result in fighting lightweights when there is Garcia ridoux and Thurman maybe he should retire

GET over it you prove how dumb you are every day. 3 mill PPV I don’t think so champ. And manny earns between 20-30 not 3. You only must of started following boxing recently cause you know f u c k all and get ripped on all day

Okay. Just like no one watched Mayweather last fight…over 2.2mil PPVs

What about that guy that’s 1-2 in his last 3 fights. Oh yeah what 500k in PPVs. Wake up Manny fans….pacman even wake up after getting Knock The F#@k Out by JMM.

Posted January 18, 2014 1:52 am

get over it

No one will watch Floyd fights? Not happening actually the longer he holds out the more people will watch him hoping he losses in the end they pay to see him fight making him richer, Floyd has just as many haters as he does fans it comes with the territory. His last bout sold over 3 million ppvs. And the dude made 150-200 million Manny makes 3 million a fight again Floyd can fight a guy like guerrero and he still made over 50 million. Floyd fighting Manny only benefits Manny opps exxuse me Arum because he will probably get like 30 percent. Manny without Floyd his career is over, I think Floyd will eventually fight him but it has to benefit him like it would have in 09 it could have been mega. He is waiting to see how desperate they become sitting back laughing. Manny needs to beat credible fighters before he can think about Floyd. Generate more public interests hence up his ppv game.

No one pay to watch floyd till he fights pacquiao he is the one holding the fight from happening I think he would win the fight but I want see them fight to clear all talk just once we should not pay to watch him till he fights manny

Manny is the one who needs to retire without Floyd his career is a wash. Who does that leave ans what kind of big fights are out there for Pac? No one at top rank for sure. Bradley or Ruslan are no names and wont generate big money. And Floyd, Garcia, Maidana are all with golden boy. Man it dont look good for your boy Manny at all. He had anice run in 09 but its a wrap without a mega fight. If he can fight Floyd he should fight Canelo he is the next big thing, But Manny is stupid enough to sign with Arum again, and still cry for Floyd, Manny is North Korea and Floyd is the United States. Throwing a hissy fit because big brother wont pay him attention. Floyd please help Manny pat his bills, He needs you lol…

Yeh he didn’t get the KO but Floyd couldn’t get the KO against guerro so its much the same. Manny doesn’t need the KO any more his highlights are stacked already. As the greats like haggler and Tyson said the way he fought against rios was like the ali of old not Floyd. Keith Thurman ring name is one time floyds should be (one at a time)

Rios was real tough Auzbox so much so he stood in front Manny all night like a gift and he couldnt KO him, What hapened to his power? Rios cant fight for sht. Kahn is better but he will get his ass beat easy, Worst than what Marquez did to Manny,,lol My apologizes Manny did beat undefeated guys Ancient history you have to dig the the crates for that one it was so long ago.

fyi: My closest friends are die hard fan of floyd so it’s not like I live in the pacman bubble. we respect each other but we dont see eye to eye when it comes to who’s better pac or floyd but we just respect each others view and at times we call each others boxing ideals out and great talks come out, ya they all also call pac a no mactch for floyd, and yes they do have an upper hand now coz pac got ko’s by a avg old fighter……i know all that…….but is pac a walk over for floyd……only time will tell……..

Posted January 18, 2014 12:23 am

Oh Yeah

Khan does a demolition job on Mayweather Jnr. This is a complete mismatch. Khan is too fast, too strong, too powerful for Mayweather Jnr. Khan has a chin of glass, I get it, but Mayweather has fists or feathers so it won’t matter. Getting closer to the date I think Khan will KO Mayweather Jnr. Yep, this is going to be embarrassing for Mayweather Jnr and he will lose all his adjectives (GOAT, HOF, ATG) and his ’0′ in a matter of 45 minutes or less.

Posted January 18, 2014 12:18 am

Rockyx2

Unfortunately, the Mayweather vs Pacquaio fight realistically will not happen this year. Also, Floyd will not retire this year.
I think both fighters are greats, but this should have happened 3 years ago.
I take a different view then the Author. I’m tired of all the talk already about this fight. All the finger pointing, etc. The truth is, this fight wil not get made, both fighters will fight other opponents. All this complaining is ridiculous & tiresome, really, get over it.

I don’t think the Marquez KO of Pac-man was enough of a confidence builder for PBF because Pac-man was 1 or 2 rounds away from KO’ing Marquez. The guy was on his last leg and then BOOM, perfectly timed shot. Manny’s fault for getting greedy, but he was on his way to KO’ing Marquez. And then Pac-man came back and completely shut-out Rios, a guy many felt would “push” Pac-man after such a devastating loss. In my opinion, PBF is still not sure enough, not confident enough, that a win is definite. Maybe after another year and a couple more tough fights for Pac-man.

The_bradguy, you’re like 5years outta phase; those comments were believable when Pac was a non-stop punching dynamo but that NO LONGER APPLies & if you don’t know that, you should…Wake up, buddy.

Posted January 18, 2014 12:01 am

Tim

In my opinion, Pac-man is just 1 or 2 more wars away from PBF finally stepping up to fight. Pac-man has already shown signs of slippage. He’s still better than most out there, but he’s not the same Pac-man who destroyed DLH and Cotto. Not the same man. But, he hasn’t slipped enough for PBF to fight him, in my opinion. PBF needs more confidence that he will definitely win and then he will fight. By then though, Pac-man will have no chance of winning.

Pacquiao just beat a big fat blown up punchbag lightweight after being face planted into the canvas by another lightweight and his fanboys think he can sit at the top table and dictate?????????

yo.. you’re right the_bradguy health is floyd’s concern why he wont fight pac, so clear his afraid

the_bradguy

I DO AGREE, though, that the fight would be a PPV bonanza but that’s all.

As far as Pac being competitive against Floyd, well, that was possible years ago, not anymore…Floyd would play with Pac for a few rounds & then he’ll proceed to take’im outta his misery for good; total mismatch.

Posted January 17, 2014 11:46 pm

Boloney, Floyd has better fights that can be made, like Martinez & GGG at 154, Maidana, Garcia, Matthysse at 147; Pac’s 1 inch away from being history. Pac better be careful who he fights next because Provo will take him out & Bradley will UD him just like he did Marquez…Pac has nowhere to go but DOWN. Sad but true.

The only question is this:

Is floyd more afraid of Pacquiao than Bowe was of Lewis?

A shame the boxing WBC does not force this clown to either fight Pacquiao, or surrender the belt.

@PEEJ
Floyd calls himself a businessman, he also says that he fights for money and not for his fans and he also says that he does not fight for legacy because legacy does not pay the bills.

so why is he being so emotional and still hurt that pac said no to the fight back then ? Businessmen are not emotional.

He will still make the most money from a fight he ever made (70/30) and with the more less risk as Pac has been ko’d etc….so where is the business sense of floyd?

Plz comment.
