Mikey would do better than Rios, but not much. Pacquiao is not easy to hit.

Presently, Mikey is hoping Pacquiao will fight him at 135 or 140. Not at 147. So all the arguing going on over Mikey’s size is wasted breath:

Mikey: “Of course I’d like to fight Manny… I don’t know a fighter who wouldn’t want to fight Manny. I’ve got to win my fights and gain some weight and strength and build my body to go up in weight, because I have several divisions to move up before I can fight Manny. I’m sure if the fight was offered at 135 or even 140, maybe two fights from now, I’m sure I would take it” (quoted from an article on boxingscene24.com).

So there ya go boys. Holster your testosterone and let’s get back to sensible debating.

^manny would come in no less than 144. they love fighting smaller guys, or bigger guys at smaller weights. typical. booh manny is so overrated.

Mikey Garcia is the latest Boricua-Killer to come out of Aztlan. he treated JuanMono like a SHOT brawler with no chin. Mikey then moves up to Martinez’s turf and immediately plants his flag before handling that B-level Boricua who previously benefited from gift-decisions to even be in a position to be kicked to the curb by Mikey. Btw, anybody seen Jotto? he apparently ran from a $10 million payday to face El Hombre at 154lbs. he could be hiding between his chubby-lover’s butt-cheeks. i’m certain it wouldn’t be the first time that Cotto shoved his head down there. they already share the same bed and blanket. those rainbow-warriors from Puto Rico are something else.

What about Danny Garcia, Maidana or Malligani, There are plenty of welter he could fight? Arum and Manny are some cherry picking bastards, He Mickey was almost Koed his last bout….

Manny Pacquiao will come to Floyd Mayweather’s home town and take it by storm as he always does. Timothy “Dessert Storm” Bradley seems to have accepted a fight in which he will be annihilated in a manner that most will see as pure violence. April 12, 2014 will be a day that will resemble that Valentines Day Massacre. One great fighter beating his opponent into submission. Bradley will be tough as he always is, but this time around, their will be no decisions. Manny will be the judge and jury. Timothy will not just be fighting a mere man, he will be fighting an emotion that has no turn off switch. Manny Pacquiao has made his way back after losing twice, laughed and mocked at as if he was done. That was followed by one of the most lethal and graceful boxing exhibitions ever seen in a boxing match. The great Manny Pacquiao shocked the world as he showcased his boxing versatility and moved as graceful as a young Cassius Clay as he dissected and pin pointed his faster than lighting punches that landed flush on a tough and brave Brandon Rios. There will be no bigger stage in all of sports. Manny will make this an eventful, exciting and unforgettable night for all fight fans to remember. The entrance to the ring will be like no other. Manny will come out with his colorful Pride Of The Philippines boxing robe. The head band, and the smile that illuminates stronger than the sun. He will duck under the rope, shake his arms out and be deafened by the out of control crowd that has been waiting for his return. Manny will smile and show his deep appreciation for his fans. An earthquake may register as the thunderous standing ovation continues, but law enforcement has already been warned. This is the same Manny Pacquiao that helps the poor, the same man that was conferred the Honorary Degree of Doctor of Humanities by South Western University, the same man that was given a Boston Celtics jersey and made an honorary member, the same man that will continue to thrill his fans by singing hit renditions like “When We Touch” after the fight, the same man that came from the streets to arguably the greatest fighter of all time, the same man that is a highly respected and honored congressman of his country. Yes, Manny Pacquiao will write another chapter to his story on this night. The moon will stay out a little longer, the criminals will stop just to see Manny fight again. Manny Pacquiao will come out with both guns blazing. You’ll see a fierce jab followed by a jack hammer straight left hand that will stop Timothy Bradley in less than 5 rounds. Manny will turn back the hands of time and do what many thought he could never do. He will further cement his legacy as the most ferocious, entertaining, exciting and beloved fighter of all time. This from a man that made his first punching bag out of cardboard stuffed with clothes. The world now awaits without a doubt the most highly, anticipated sporting event in history. On this day, the entire world will be glued to their TV”S waiting to see Manny Pacquiao as never before. This will be a special fight for me as it will land just about on my Birthday. My celebration will begin and end after Manny’s spectacular victory. Manny is the best.

What’s new from the cheats of Top Rank, Rios, Margarito and Manny given shakes by Ariza. Boxers from TR should never ask for other boxers to test since they opposed testing from the onset. I truly feel sorry for Cotto coz he could’ve only lost to 2 cheats before 2012. Brickarito and Pedquaio one with BRICKS the other with SHAKES.

Floyd will outbox PAC for 12 rounds but still this fight needs to be made, both fighters are relectant to fight one another but Floyd has been pushing it ever since pacs decline which is typical Floyd. But bob arum is the the stoper here that’s is Floyd’s last excuse. Remove bob and see what happens. PAC has only a few big fights for him but if he us a free agent then there’s no stopping him getting some mega fights

Mikey was sparring with Pacquiao as a 16 yr old TADPOLE and he held his own. Now that he’s a growing SHARK Pacquiao is in trouble. Arum is going to cash out on Pacquiao and pass the torch to Garcia. Smart move by Arum I must say. Garcia potentially has 10 + years left in the game while Pacquiao has less than 5. Its NO coincidence that he’s putting Pacquiao in with Mikey at the end of his current contract SO that he can get SPANKED.

Manny will beat Mikey Garcia into retirement. Garcia should keep his mouth shut and pay attention to the guys in front of him. There’s plenty of guys that will destroy him. He needs to keep Manny Pacquiao’s name out of his vocabulary. Garcia hasn’t accomplished a thing yet. He’ll get destroyed by Manny Pacquiao.

Mikey weighed 128 for his last fight.. He’s basically still a featherweight.. Arum shouldn’t be exploiting a guy who’s almost 20 pounds lighter than Pacquiao.. Let Mikey fill out at 130 first.

Posted January 22, 2014 11:26 pm

TARK

Ha points out..,

“Guess how many divisions you can win between 105 and 130 (25 lbs)— EIGHT! ….. Guess how many you can win between LHW and Cruiser (25 lbs)—TWO!”

That’s an interesting observation… The divisions are paper close the lighter you go … Donaire is already a 4-Division World Champion. He’s not ranked anywhere at 126, his current division. They’re still ranking him at 122.

Another interesting thing is — a boxer jumps 8 pounds to go from middleweight to super-middleweight… Then jumps only 7 pounds to go from super-middleweight to light heavyweight… And then jumps 25 pounds to go to the next division, cruiserweight … For a heavyweight the sky is the limit … and they’re getting bigger and stronger every decade.

I honestly think Arum is just linking the names to generate more interest in Garcia; he’d have to be either insane, stupid or both to gamble Garcia’s career (and presumably a relatively large portion of Top Rank’s forecasted future income) with such small odds of success.

Dis is what wrong with boxing. Pacquiao became pacquiao by winning for years not by jumping mad weight classes and fighting legends of da sport before his time. Mikey should decline and fight dudes @ his weight. And gain more exp as a world champ before fightin a guy who won belts @ 8 diff weight classes. #realtalk

Posted January 22, 2014 8:25 pm

Garcia would have much to lose and little to win. If he does fight Pac and lose, which is likely, everyone will question his ability to be effective against top competitors, as they are right now in regards to his fight against Salido. If he were to beat Pac, which is unlikely at the moment, he’ll be criticized for beating an older version of Pac, which won’t do much for his career, especially if is an ugly win.

Garcia is an excellent fighter with lots of potential, but this rush to bring him up to start status could ruin his future. Arum should be taking care of these fighters…not trying to hurt their careers just to make some quick money. Find it difficult to understand how he can be so greedy, especially at his age. He’s got all the money he’ll ever need and still willing to hurt boxers career for his own good.

Arum is doing his best but the boxing world wants PAC v mayweather that is the only fight that can define this era. Garcia is good but too small for PAC right now this is scraping the barrel at the highest level. Garcia has many more options for him, PAC simply has one and so dose Floyd. Please don’t let this era be defined by khan v mayweather and PAC vs feather weights

@ Sim Sima … You got it all wrong, check the facts, Mayweather has hand picked opponents that came off of wins, and Arum has picked opponents for Pacquiao that came off of loses. So both sides are hand picking, just the Pacquiao is worst because the majority of the opponents came off of a loss. That’s why when he finally fought the undefeated Bradley, he lost and will lose again.

@DLP

That has been the case ever since boxing was created. Opponents have always been picked for champions that promoters felt their fighter would beat. Floyd is far more guilty of doing that than Pacquiao. You’re delirious if you think Pacquiao’s legacy is diminished from his resume. His list of opponents will be a whos who of hall of fame fighters when we look back 20-50 years from now. Get a clue.

I hope Mickey is smart enough to avoid getting put into a horrible fight. Mickey is a very good technician but not ready for a veteran like PacMan. I think Gamboa is a more descent fight, but I see it as a 50/50 fight. I actually think Gamboa is better than what we have seem of him.
