I hope Angulo beats Canelo. A stoppage would be excellent.

can’t wait until Danny Garcia stops his weight-games and steps up to Canelo like Josesito already did. it takes heart and desire. unfortunately, most messy rican hoes can only satisfy half of those requirements, e.g., the notorious Cotto kneel-down, which has become the signature image of Rican boxing . . . “Cannn-Tahhh y no Llores” . . . (lol).

Ms. MESSYHOE, is just deflated that not a single Rican is featured on the entire ESB homepage. a reflection of the fact that there are NO Rican fighters worth a Damn. over the past couple of years, the likes of Salido, Segura, Arce, and Garcia have sunk the entire territory. even Cotto is hiding from any presumed “rivalry” . . . “Cannn-Tahhh y no Llores”.

why is this thread about global warming?

Mayweather went straight at Canelo in opening round. Canelo had no idea what to do with him. Fm was there in front of him all night Canelo just couldn’t pull the trigger. He got whipped. End of story.

No, Canelo will not be the future of boxing. The problem is that he doesn’t seem to be learning from his mistake, he is already blaming Floyd, saying that he ran from him for 12 rounds. The kid sat back and tried to counterpunch all night, was he expecting Mayweather to pressure him? Whatever he thought, he didn’t adjust his game plan and now he blames the other guy. It’s not a good sign, and he is already starting to talk like his promoters, but as far as I’m concerned he is going to have to prove himself against Angulo, Lara, Kirkland, Molina and Rosado before I consider him to be the future of boxing. A good place to start is to prove he is the best at 154, and there are many fighters he must go through first to prove that.

If you lose to Floyd now, you can’t be the future because where ever you are heading you got beat and miss handle by Floyd. The only way you become the future is if you beat Mayweather in a rematch and then beat him again the third time you fight.

Climate Change is taking place you idiot. The oceans now have huge dead spots, and are steadily rising. Every decade is warmer than the last. Fully 98% of climate scientists say Climate Change is human influenced. The other 2% work for the coal, oil, and gas industries.

To Havoc ,,, If Canelo is avoiding Triple GGG which by the way Triple GGG fights one division higher then Canelo does ,,why doesn’t Triple GGG go one division higher and fight Andre Ward ,,you call Canelo a chicken because he won’t fight Triple GGG but then you say nothing about Triple GGG being a chicken when the offer to fight Andre Ward is there . Come on ” Havoc ” respond to this ,lets see what you have to say ??

Posted January 23, 2014 6:20 pm

Who cares who the future of boxing is. It will decide itself. I say they should focus on making the present of boxing the best it can be. That’s why you fight the fights. To see who is the best.

Posted January 23, 2014 6:08 pm

Kirkland was offered the fight when he had a shoulder injury. He took almost a year off for it to heal.

Posted January 23, 2014 6:07 pm

Big Ham

James Kirkland vs Canelo . With Madaina vs Mathyyse as the co-feature. That would have been a worthy 49.95$ PPV with mid level expectations. This card they are putting together is standard Showtime fare.

Posted January 23, 2014 6:06 pm

Chili Grande

To Messy Hoe !!! didn’t you read or you don’t know how to read ,,the article The Facts ! posted in his post he said that James Kirkland was offer a fight against Canelo but Kirkland backed out the last minute ..and now you are saying that Canelo is avoiding Kirkland .. also Rosado although a tough fighter was stop by Angulo in the second round ,so why would Canelo avoid Rosado .

Posted January 23, 2014 6:05 pm

Big Ham

He is an entertaining B+ fighter. It’s a slap in the face to tell educated boxing fans that he is the future of boxing through. If he is the future why is he headlinging a PPV against a guy coming off of a loss? Because the guy that just beat Angulo, Erislandy Lara, is Canelo’s most deserving challenger and probably would beat him. So the fight will not be made. I hope this PPV flops tremendously to humble GBP a bit. They have a decent marketable fighter that they are OVER marketing by trying to push his tuneup fight as a PPV.

Losing to floyd definitely hurt him IMO. Because floyd is not an ubeatable fighter by any stretch. He had a 15lb plus advantage and he did possess the power to knock floyd out. He chose to box with Floyd. He did not fight a terrible fight. But he showed his limitations. He does not have great stamina and he is not a pressure fighter, which is what mexico prides itself on. Canelo fights like a veteran who rests between spurts and uses craft to ring generalship to win close rounds. He does not have great Stamina at all. That’s why he looks very strong and explosive and looks like his has potential..but is in my opinion a B+ fighter. He’s the Jean Pascal of his division.

Canelo can still be the future of boxing… As long he doesn’t lose again, which I will personally ensure by cherrypicking the best opponents to make him look good.

Posted January 23, 2014 4:29 pm

Canelo is a beast its just that Floyd treated him like a kid figthing at lunch time, Just like he does everyone else. Loosing to Floyd in no way diminishes Canelo Floyd beats everyone so it no surprise.

canelo best hype job since justin beiber.

MikeStrutter “If you wanna kick some butt, call the Strut”

Canelo most certainly is NOT the future of the sport. He was clueless against Floyd. It won’t surprise me if Angulo beats him, maybe even stops him.Whether or not Canelo can become a superstar depends on how much he thinks he can improve. He’s a solid fighter, but has technical and stamina issues that need improving, but he’s still young and already he’s accomplished some worthy acheivements. My opinion that his handlers mistake his confidence for ability look to be reinforced with this matchup vs Angulo.I think this is a more even match than some may have you believe.

canelo still a top gun.

I’d say rigondeaux is also the past, present & future of boxing. You may not like his technique but he is a master craftsman of the game. Hopefully lomachenko can develop into a rivalry for rigondeaux. If not, rigondeaux will have to go up a couple of weight classes to find a rival.

The White Man is HW Champion

Right now, Wladimir Klitschko is Boxing of past, present, and future. Like it or not, it is the truth. The White Boy kicks all buttocks put in front of him. Soon he will have the WBC Belt and have them all. You cannot say that for FM. FM only has one of the many belts. K-Bros have em all. And you cannot dispute the facts and the specs of that paper trail. Maybe little White Mexican Boy will do the same thing. Only time will tell.

‘Anna Kournikova of boxing’, lol! Seriously now, Canelo Alvarez has always been a little over-hyped in world class. He CAN be a big star of boxing in the future, if he keeps his focus and progresses, if he’s got the goods, but he should earn it. Up to now he won the WBC light-middle belt by beating a European level welterweight and defended mostly against guys he was expected to beat. In these days of multiple champs per division, Alvarez was steered to a soft title. He was outclassed by Mayweather and he looked slow and second rate that night. Was it nerves or was he slightly below par, or drawn at the weight? A loss and most people write you off these days, which I disagree with.

Canelo is soild, he just needs more experience and slightly better cardio.

He’s talented forsure.

Ali lost v. Frazier, In-His-Prime. meanwhile, Canelo is the potential future of boxing but only actual ring-performances v. the best will prove it. nonetheless, the foundation is there and so is the desire. WILL is a talent.

I had a serious talk with my sister and mother about the next time they get pregnant that they should get pregnant by a Mexican ,,,That way we will have some family members with some actual courage …I don’t want my half brothers and nephews to be a coward like Miguel Cotto and Ivan Calderon who both took a knee during their fights .

The Facts !

If Canelo wins this next fight against Angulo , i guarantee you he will fight Lara next ..but listen guys if Angulo put Lara down twice and gave Lara all kinds of trouble what do you think Canelo would due to Lara . Canelo has better defense then Angulo and is not as shot as Angulo ,,so don’t assume that Lara would have an easy time against Canelo .

Posted January 23, 2014 1:42 am

The Facts !

I’m not a big follower of Canelo ,i believe he got to the top to easy ..but i must admit that he did want to fight James Kirkland and Kirkland got scare and backed out ,,then he offer Miguel Cotto ten million dollars and still Cotto backed out . Canelo then wanted to fight Paul Williams and you know what happen there .

Yes, but not if you have 2 loses, back to back.
I like Canelo. Just win this one and let your fist proclaim you as the future of Boxing. Don’t be a Broner

To Messy Hoe ,,,At least the Mexican’s have hope in Canelo .. But what hope does the Puerto Rican’s have .. Absolutely nothing ,,all their fighters were destroy by the Mexican fighter’s ,,And don’t give me that bull sh-t about Danny Garcia being the next star ,,He hardly speaks English much less Spanish .
