I’m impressed. Cotto is a true warrior. If Sergio wins, he needs to face 3G.

Compare all you want… Canelo fought the best.

Trout was the undefeated World Super Welterweight Champion, and the conqueror of Miguel Cotto when Alvarez beat him… Mosley was a 3 Division World Champion with 2 wins over Oscar De La Hoya when Canelo beat him… Canelo just put out a 10-million dollar offer to fight 3-Division World Champion Miguel Cotto and was turned down flat.

And besides the above great fighters Canelo lost a MD to the GOAT in a fight where he put 13 millon dollars in his pocket.

Hearns got KTFO 3 times in his 20′s. Once by super slow Iran Barkley.

Leonard lost to a lightweight—who quit in their rematch because Ray did nothing but run and clown… and then Leonard got dominated by China-chinned Terry Norris when he was only 34…

Terry Norris couldn’t even qualify to fight Oscar De La Hoya—because he was KO’d by neophyte Keith Mullins in a tune-up fight. That’s how good Leonard was. He got killed by Norris and he was only 34.

Floyd will be 37 in his next fight and he’s not even slowing down. He’s had many more pro fights and championship fight than than SRL had.

No they wouldn’t.. They wouldn’t do crap.. They were even easier to hit than Canelo and they weren’t as physically tough or strong.

Especially string bean Hearns… Hearns couldn’t even match up with Barkley, a guy who lost to Nunn, Kalamby, Benn, Toney, et al.

te tumbo… Trinidad wasn’t knocked out TWICE by middleweights… Hearns was knocked out by Hagler and Barkley in 3 rounds each…

Hearns’ chin was stuff of pure China…

Tito was a very rugged guy. He was a great absorber… Iran Barkley was knocked out several times.. He was KO’d by Benn, Toney, and other middleweights — but Hearns couldn’t put a dent in Barkley in 2 fights, getting decked 3 times and losing BOTH fights.

So much for Hearns’ punching power against top-of-the-line middleweights.

“. . . Trinidad was fairly easy to hit . . .” is the fatal flaw that would’ve doomed him v. the Tommy that KTFO of Cuevas and Duran. there’s simply no defense of Trinidud beyond his gift-decision v. DLH and carefully-planned but ill-fated move up to middle. TrinDud’s middleweight record is embarrassing compared to that of Hearns.

Posted January 31, 2014 9:26 pm

TARK

Felix Trinidad was fairly easy to hit but he would have knocked the bejabbers out of wide open Tommy Hearns… If sluggish Hagler could beat Hearns like a drum—and super slow Iran Barkley could find a 29-year-old Hearns’s chin—then the Trinidad who crushed William Joppy would have knocked Hearns stiff..

Tito was a lot sturdier and stronger than Skinny Pins… His chin stood up a lot better. B-Hop is the only man who ever stopped Trinidad and it took him 12 rounds of furious hammering to get Tito KTFO. Tommy didn’t have that kind of punch resistance.

SRMINIMO, TrinDud lost to Hopkins who literally scoffed at Trinidud’s punches, KO’d Cherifi, then retired. he returned for an 8-round give-and-take brawl v. Retardo Mayorga at 160lbs(?!?). conversely, DLH practically KO’d a healthier 154lb Mayorga in one round before ending it in 6. Trinidud is then transformed into a living bobblehead by a thoroughly dominant and lifelong 154lbr Winky at 160lbs, which once again featured a point-deduction for fouling against Cheato who retired once again. he returned once more and was turned into an inferior sparring partner v. a faded Jones Jr. what’s missing? virtually any evidence of Trinidud’s boxing or punching ability, e.g., TKO’s v. Cherifi and Mayorga at 160lbs do NOT qualify as displays of KO punching power and it all began immediately following him being caught with illegal handwraps v B-Hops. that’s no coincidence. it’s the logical outcome of no more illegal handwraps.

As of his “loss of power” after the Hopkins fight, he only had 4 fights after fighting Bernard (who beat him fair and square, I’ve never debated that). He won 2 and lost 2. The 2 he won were by KO, so I really don’t get that analogy.

SRMINIMO, since you simply won’t respond to any of my questions, I will respond to your retort in kind: Hacks, Bums, and Corrupt officials won’t change the fact that Cheato’s once concussive punching-power evaporated into thin air immediately after he was caught CHEATING by Nazim and Fisher. Btw, Hopkins easily defeated Cheato. what could possibly be his sinister agenda? Cheato TriniDud was a heartless Bum and Cheat whose response to loss was Multiple, Pouty, Unavenged, Post-Loss RetiremenS. the most in boxing history. End of Story.

I can also imagine what would happen of Hearns, Hagler, or Duran fought Canelo… They’d all get beaten up and out-boxed with no problem… Hearns would get knocked out…

Hagler wasn’t a welter.. He was a full middleweight.. Just not a very fast one, and that’s why Leonard whipped on him after a 3-year-layoff. Hearns traded punches with Hagler and Barkley.. Not a good idea with that defense and that chin.

James Toney showed how you fight Iran Barkley. You wait for him to swing and knock the crap out of him. Tommy was impatient.

Te Tumbo- Keith Keizer is full of crap. It wasn’t his trained inspectors that caught Margarito cheating with Mosley, it was Haseem.
And Bernard is full of crap too- It’s no secret that if you put your bandages on when wet they become tighter. Guys do it in gyms all the time for all sorts of reasons.

And regarding that hack job you’re referencing, here’s a reply from Aladdin Freeman that includes interviews to several trainers and officials:

Aladdin Freeman asks you… If Tito and his father were trying to cheat don’t you think he’d cut the tape and everything off?

Your October 29th, 2001 article “Cheat-To Trinidad” is malicious and irresponsible; it ranks right up there with the cheapest supermarket tabloids, the ones that use sensationalism and misconceptions to sell issues, regardless of who they vilify.

I must confess that I am aghast as to how you have been able to get away with this piece, unbalanced and irresponsible as it is. You took the words of the three guys who Félix Trinidad beat the worst, and used them to cast a heavy shadow on Trinidad’s career, his accomplishments, his pugilistic integrity. In reality, you have done the same for his father, and for every Commission and every inspector they have ever fought under, but more on that in a minute.

Your article states that William Joppy has a strong opinion about “all this,” whatever all this is, because there is no proof or evidence of any impropriety on the part of the Trinidad camp. You obviously conducted some sort of interview -or shall we call it a witch hunt- with Joppy, in which he assumes that the reason why he looked like a rubber band man on May 12th, 2001, at the Garden, is because Tito’s gloves were “loaded.”

You continued the public lynching in cahoots with Fernando Vargas, who based solely on what James Fisher said proceeded to malign his handlers, his own camp; and then goes on to justify his starching with a cloak and dagger story, without the benefit of names, dates, or anything specific, solely hear say.

As for David Reid, well, let’s just look at his last fight and leave it at that.

I feel that as a responsible journalist you should have gotten both sides of this story, because as you might know, Trinidad didn’t demolish all his opponents in the same manner he did Reid, Vargas and Joppy. So, what is the explanation there? The “loaded” gloves were only “loaded” on certain days and only against certain opponents? How illogical and foolish is the concept?

One of your readers e-mailed you, condemning your atrocious article, and your answer to him was even worst than the article. Your response to this reader was, and I am quoting: “THANK GOD YOU ARE A NOBODY!” Well, this person contacted me, quite upset at the way you had responded, and asked if we could help him set the record straight.

So, Mr. Kim, on behalf of Taino34652, who is very much SOMEBODY in our book, my feature correspondent Aladdin Freeman and I set out to seek answers, and a better understanding on how a boxer’s hands are wrapped. I guess you can call it, doing your homework for you, or better yet, presenting facts instead of fiction.

The general question asked was “how do you wrap your fighters’ hands?” This is how the question was answered by some of the game’s most reputable and knowledgeable people.

1.- Teddy Atlas

“This is why we need a National Commission because there is no rhyme or reason in regards to some of the rules. Every state allows you to wrap the fighters hands differently. I personally usually use gauze, then 1 roll on tape on each hand for my fighters. More tape doesn’t add punching power it’s more to protect the fighters hands.”

2.- Tommie Brooks

“The most important thing to do when wrapping your fighters hand is to protect them, not for added punching power. How you do this is by establishing a good base. Start with gauze or pre-wrap, then make sure you wrap the wrist first and very tight. I know every state allows different rules when it comes to wrapping but usually you can get away with one and a half rolls per hand but with the big guys you definitely need two rolls for each hand. It also helps if you have a general idea where the breaks occur, like the knuckles, so you can put extra foam or padding for the fighters.”

3.- José “Pepe” Correa

Tito Trinidad can punch so goddarn hard, you may think he has a brick in his gloves, because that is the way he can kick it. I’ve heard a lot of garbage about he has this in his gloves, he had that in his gloves….Let me tell you something, whenever there is a championship fight we have inspectors in the dressing rooms that watch us prepare, watch us get our hands wrapped. These are professional people who do nothing but watch you wrap your hands. The only thing that Félix Trinidad had in his gloves fight night against any of those guys he knocked out was hand wraps and KNUCKLES! Real knuckles, not brass knuckles.

Let me tell you something, these people have no ground to stand on. You have a hard punching Puerto Rican that can hit like hell, and they just hate the fact that he can punch like that.

I use all the gauze I have on the hand, to make my fighter the best fist, the hardest fist that I can make, and yes, I am trying to make it as hard as I can, because we are allowed to do that. After wrapping his hands, I take the tape, I do the wrist and part of the hand area, I do not go across the knuckles, no trainer does, you are not allowed to do that, that is against the law.

We are given a certain amount of gauze to wrap our guys’ hands. What I do is I start up at the wrist area and I come down, I put as much as I possibly can across the fist area, so he doesn’t damage his hands, because we are hitting with his knuckles, so therefore I’m allowed to take one gauze and wrap it the way I want to and put that across his knuckles, I do that with all my fighters and have done that for years.

I use tape that I put between the fingers but I do not put tape across the gauze, you gotta have it at least an inch behind the knuckles. You have tape that goes between the fingers, which has nothing to do with trying to make “a cast.” it does not make a cast. Some guys go: “Oh, man! Jesus Christ, I love the way that hand is wrapped; it looks like you can knock down a wall…” Yes, you can, because it’s wrapped properly. The problem with trainers today, they don’t protect their fighters’ hands, I do, I do it in every fight, and most good trainers do.

This thing about Felix Trinidad having his hands wrapped wrong or improperly is a FLAT OUT LIE. You have inspectors in the dressing room, we have to trust those people because they are professionals and anyone who says anything different is stupid.

4.- Referee Jorge Alonso

BRC: As a referee I know that you check some of the equipment the boxer wears, do you also check the gloves to see if they are irregular in any way?

JA: We check the gloves, we feel the gloves, but remember when we get the boxer in the ring, he already has his gloves on. In Florida, they have inspectors that supervise the wrapping and approve of the wrapping. What I feel for, when I feel the gloves is to make sure that first of all, the knot is in the back part of the hand, right underneath, where there is no rub, no big knots when they tie the gloves and that the tape covers the knot itself and the tie. I also check that the impact area of the glove is in good condition, that it doesn’t have any soft spots where you can’t feel the knuckles. In the past, I have eliminated gloves for having been used before, they were very soft and you can feel the boxer’s knuckles with your finger; in those cases you don’t let those gloves go on to the fight.

As far as the wrap itself, we don’t actually see it. In Florida we have inspectors that handle that.

BRC: When you refereed Trinidad vs. Thiam, and based on your many years of experience, did you see, did you detect anything, anything at all that now -looking back on it and based on the grave accusations that have been made- did you detect anything that may now seem irregular to you?

JA: No, looking back, I don’t see anything irregular. I checked the gloves, in the ring, and I didn’t notice any irregularities as to the way the gloves felt when I checked them, they were tied properly. I didn’t see anything improper with the gloves, however I don’t know about the hands wrap, but I have a tremendous confidence in the inspectors in Florida. We probably have one of the most experienced team of inspectors in Florida and I say that with a lot of pride. I seriously doubt that they would allow any improprieties as to wrappings in a fight in the state of Florida; and specially the guys here in South Florida they are very, very experienced inspectors.

No surprise Martinez pulled a shot, blown up welterweight to blast out for easy money instead of face GGG. His blatant ducking is getting distasteful. Mind you Martinez is the same guy who complained that all the 154 lb title holders were ducking him for years when he was a little known contender from Argentina. Now he’s playing the same game. “Please do not use Te Tumbo as your source of information regarding Tito…” that’s actually good advice from SrMinimo. i’m only an educated and experienced fight-fan. not an inside source. one should always insist on a credible source before considering any poster’s claims. accordingly:

The Man Who Trains Bernard Hopkins
Interview With Bouie Fisher
By Ike Enwereuzor / Jacboxing.com.

“They know the rules, no tape on the skin or tape on the ankle. His left hand was heavy just like your camera. Guess what, the officials then said you can go and wrap Bernard hands anyway you want. Trinidad’s father and his people didn’t want to make the change because they knew they cheated and they tried to cover it up by asking me to wrap Bernard’s hands anyway we wish”.

also:

CHERIFI BETTER WATCH TITO’S HAND WRAPS
Boxingtalk Exclusive by Ron Heard

“In an interview with Bernard Fernandez of Philly.com, Hopkins said, “If you put on tape, then gauze, then tape, then gauze, it’s like a [plaster] cast. It’s like being hit with a baseball bat. I’m giving out some secrets here, but you can dip your hands in ice water and that tape will, like, marinate and become harder. But it’s only cheating if you get caught. Personally, I think Vargas’ and Reid’s people dropped the ball. Naazim did a brilliant job in spotting what [Felix Trinidad Sr.] was doing with the wraps.”

my question to SrMINIMO is: in what state is any of what’s described by these insiders considered legal? please cite credible sources. Finally:

NSAC Executive Director Keith Kizer: “I am as comfortable as I can be that Antonio Margarito’s hand wraps and gloves weren’t doctored during his July victory over Miguel Cotto at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas . . . We have experienced inspectors not only watching the hands being wrapped, but also the gloves being put on,” Kizer said. “They feel the wraps and sign them and then the gloves and sign them”. speaking specifically about the Tony v. Cotto bout, Kizer said, representatives from the Cotto camp were in Margarito’s dressing room during the entire wrapping of the hands. “They were in there from the beginning,” Kizer said. “Not only them but people from HBO, people from MGM, there are always a dozen or so people in the dressing room . . . I’m pleased with the process we have in Nevada,” Kizer said. “Not only does it stop anybody who tries to do something like that, it stops anybody who is thinking about doing it”.

Tony was never proven guilty and remains innocent. Cotto was simply Punished and Pummeled to his knees by the Bigger, Stronger, and Tougher Margarito or as i described it in pre-fight threads back then: you can’t teach height or train a sturdy chin.

This is going to be a great fight no matter who wins and regardless of the fact that either fighter’s best days are over. This is going to be a classic boxer vs puncher scenario. 50/50 fight all depending on who has more gas in the tank the night of the fight. Great match up for sure!

Liver Shot

Martinez will out box Cotto if not, knock him out in the middle to late rounds. Cotto has taken more beating than Martinez, and I’m not sure Cotto will have the pop to hurt Martinez. Cotto has been caught by lesser punchers and survived some of them. Martinez has one punch power if he times you right. The only reason Martinez doesn’t have all the belts is because he is avoided. Nobody wants to fight a mover let alone one that bangs. Cotto has to make it an ugly fight or just roll the dice and let it all hang out from the opening bell and see what happens. Either way it will be a good fight no matter how long it lasts.

KO- Look at Tito vs Vargas-Reid-Joppy and Yory Boy and you’ll see those KOs were not very different from the way he disposed of Mayorga (who had a rock solid chin, btw). Tito DID NOT have any illegal additional substance in his wrappings for Hopkins, tey had to re-wrap because Don Felix was putting tape in between the knuckles, which was not allowed by the NY commission. Please do not use Te Tumbo as your source of information regarding Tito…

Leonard was boxed to death by Terry Norris… Norris was being lined up to fight Oscar De La Hoya at one point. Unfortunately Terry didn’t qualify. Unknown rookie Keith Mullins knocked Terry out in a tune-up.

Cotto and Martinez are over the hill. Cotto last fought a guy that was intimidated and scared to death. Martinez looked like he was on his last legs. A fight he should have lost. Martinez has been off way too long. This fight is for the money only because both guys can’t beat any of the champions or elite fighters. This would have been a great fight 5-7 years ago. MSG will be a great fight and maybe both can turn back the hands of time for a night. Cotto can win this if he applies pressure and rips that body. Martinez can win if he uses his speedy boxing style with movement. Both may be able to figh their fight for 5-6 rounds. After that, it’s anyone’s guess

Martinez could not beat Floyd much less Cotto and Floyd on the same night. He is gonna have a tough time getting past Cotto. There is a reason why Martinez was not taking on the other titlest in his division.

Martinez may be a little shopworn, but I believe he’ll still have enough to win this fight. He will outbox Cotto similar to what Austin Trout did. From there Martinez will hopefully fight Triple G or Canelo.

Cotto has (once again) avoided the “rivalry” and Canelo’s $10 million offer. instead he’s targeting a battered Martinez for less. i still favor the naturally bigger and tougher Martinez and anticipate he’ll be able to (once again) expose Cotto’s notorious instinct for self-preservation. nonetheless, Cotto’s the best and last that the Messyhoe territory has left.

Stand by and watch as Martinez ducks GGG. This is a travesty. Dude should WANT to fight the best fighter in his division, not a natural welterweight, or even jr. welterweight!

Posted January 30, 2014 11:12 am

Big Ham

Martinez by KO in this one. Unless he comes in injured and cannot fight to 80% of his ability. Fun fight, it will be a great promotion and event. And Hat’s off to Cotto for taking a risky fight. In some ways though it is a no risk fight and i will tell you why. It is like when Oscar de Hoya fought Bernard Hopkins. It was a win win fight whether he won or lost. He was supposed to lose, so if he even did semi good for a few rounds people would applaud him for taking the risk and his marketability was not hurt much at all. If Cotto loses, especially if he fights bravely. I think he can go right into a big fight against a smaller guy after Martinez. He potentially can be bigger after the fight even after a loss. So in that sense it’s a good matchup for him. Physically it’s dangerous though because i beleive Sergio is the hardest puncher he has ever faced.

Tito moved up and was knocking out bigger fighters. There was no reason to have a catchweight with any fighter at 160. Heck he was coming in at 160 and weighing in more on fight night.

There is no need for a rematch with Chavez Jr. He got beat for 11 rounds. No need for a rematch at all plus he can’t make 160. If Martinez wins he needs to fight GGG, Quillen or the other dude with the belt, can’t remember his name at the moment. But he has been out with injury. That is who he needs to defend against.

Martinez GGG is not a winnable fight. Martinez is too old and his style is based on speed and reflexes so he’s way past his prime. He’s looking for big money, small risk. Just like everybody else :)

The only shot Cotto has is if Martinez grew old over night.

Floyd is watching closely just how old bad these guys look. He just might fight the winner under some special weight/glove regulations and become a MW champ. Martinez at 80% beats Floyd IMO so he needs to look baaaad.

Am a huge Cotto fan but know he’s gonna loose this fight big time and could even be stopped if Martinez really wants it. I beleive Cotto is the superior boxer and has had the better career out of the two fighters, but he is just not effective above the welterweight limit. He has struggled badly at light middle and we seen against Trout he is pretty much toothless against larger fighters at the higher weights. There’s no doubt in my mind even against Margirito at welter, the size of Margirito was his biggest problem (juicing up aside). In fact the most natural he looked was at light welter and I thinkn this was his peak when he could make this weight effectively. But he’s had a good careera nd deserves a decent pay day.

Boxtra says.., “Floyd said long ago that IF Leonard can beat Hagler then HE can beat Martinez and he is CORRECT on that.”

When did Floyd ever say he was emulating Leonard on anything??? Especially like going after the middleweight title—since Floyd fought the majority of his fights at 130.. 160 is a stretch; Floyd’s already said that.. His dad an uncle talked him out of fighting Jermain Taylor. Taylor was so punchable he was almost a gift wrapped 160lb title for Floyd.

Martinez is a much tougher, smarter, faster, more skilled, and craftier middleweight than Taylor. But he’s also a lot older and looking vulnerable right now… If Cotto gives Sergio a tough fight I can see Mayweather exploiting a possible situation to pick up a 6th Divisional Championship… But not because of anything Ray Leonard ever did or didn’t do … It would be strictly based on how well Sergio fights Cotto.

Martinez will definitely stop Cotto. By the way, no one should bemoan Cotto for taking a knee against a guy who was blasting him in the face with a freaking cast. Be that as it may, Martinez has to much skill, too much speed, too much power for Cotto. Should Mayweather fight Martinez I will be satisfied if he never fights Manny Pacquiao as Martinez is a much bigger threat than Pacquiao. I still think that Floyd will fight a trilogy with Pacquio and fight Tim Bradley and Maidana before he ever steps in the ring with Martinez.

It won’t be a great fight…

It will be something like the Trout-Cotto fight. The photo accompanying this story shows Cotto landing his very slick jab on Trout.. That is NOT representative of what happened during that fight.. Trout won at least 118-110… a very decisive victory.

Not as decisive as Trout was beaten Erislandy Lara—who won 119-108.

Martinez will run the whole night and attempt to potshot his way to victory. If Miguel presses him hard every round, Miguel might wear him out before the 12th. But, Miguel has been known to lose a lot of steam in the championship rounds. It will be a great fight.

Martinez will not fight Golovkin after he beats Cotto… Won’t happen in a million years. He knows for certain Gennady would knock him TFO.

If Martinez barely beats Cotto at 160 it will be very tempting for Floyd to fight Martinez… Especially if Floyd can get the fight at 154.

That would be the last fight for Martinez because he won’t fight GGG.

Lara, Garcia, and Pacquiao won’t have any luck getting a Floyd fight either.

Let’s just hope the winner finally fights Golovkin.

Posted January 29, 2014 7:38 pm

Historically, Cotto has done very well against fleet-footed fighters. His footwork matched with his massively underrated jab (e.g. I’ve never seen someone able jab Mayweather as consistently and solidly as he did, and that’s not the only fighter he’s surprised with it) give him a really good platform for blocking off and setting up mobile guys.
Problem is that Trout showed at 154 Cotto may not have the power to be effective, so I’m skeptical as to whether he can do it at 160 (though Cotto did look strong in blowing out Rodriguez)

Having said that, Martinez has looked faded recently. I felt for a while that Martinez’ reputation may have been winning him fights as much as his ability was. He’s generally struggled when an opponent isn’t put off by his counter-punches, and immediately returns fire. Margarito trounced him by walking through counters with his hard head. Pavlik had some success but who knows where his head was. Williams also had success in the first fight (though we all know what happened in the second fight!).
Since then, I felt a lot of Martinez’ opponents respected him too much and were far too wary of the counter shots. It wasn’t until Chavez Jr finally got desperate in the final round of their fight that the weakness was shown again. Then Murray capitalized on it well in Martinez’ next fight.

Cotto has the right style to exploit that same weakness. But if he doesn’t have the power to hurt Martinez, then it’s all for nothing.

Posted January 29, 2014 7:15 pm

The Prince

Interesting fight. If Sergio is game enough, then I got him winning it with his speed and mobility. However, if he is well past it with age, then Cotto might stop him.

The loser of this fight will probably be the one backing up. I think Martinez is too big for him, but Cotto is the most skilled fighter Sergio has ever faced and Martinez is not really an inside fighter. Roach seems to think Cotto can walk Martinez down and break him with body shots, but he better not get caught trying to do it.

It’s still not signed yet, but closer, they pick the name who goes first in the bout, finally .Both are divas, fussy about how it’s going to look like to the fans, Sergio wanted this fight when cotto just move up now it’s looking like he unsure he wants it.
My pick is cotto, Martinez leaves his left hand low, same as Floyd if he can’t get you angry.
His low left hand will be watched and he can’t seat up his right hand or his jab.
Martinez has a hard time with boxer, they don’t get angry and go head hunting.
Cotto by points, but hope cotto drop him.

Mr gav

A real 50 50 fight marteniz is looking on his way to retirement and has a long break away from the ring, cotto who has also seen better days is fighting a much bigger man but still looks like he is a genuine fighter. I’m going for cotto on points in an exciting match which sees marteniz bow out with dignity. An excellent fight for the fans well worth the ppv if it has one. However neither fighter would last the 12 vs GGG but hopefully the winner will get a chance. Going to be an excellent year at middle weight

Nice The big stars in action from April onwards….can’t wait 4 the slow period after Xmas 2 start warming up in the ring…I’d have 2 go Sergio here, length, speed and compared 2 welter or most jr middles Sergio’s power might surprise Cotto. hats off 2 Cotto though, he’s always a chance. My only worry is How hungry Cotto is. He might b cashing in….Sergio, than Alvarez and call it a day. If that’s cotto’s mind set than He might not get 2 the Alvarez fight, Sergio could end him. On the other hand Sergio has a question mark on his name ATM. Interesting times bring it on…

Cotto has no business at 160. He’s small at 154.

PEEJ

I think Cotto is a bit small to be at 160. Hopefully he doesn’t try to come in anywhere close to that. If he comes is around 154ish, and Martinez shows up the same way he did against Murray them Cotto will win and maybe by KO. If not then Martinez wins decision.

Cotto’s got balls he doesn’t dodge anyone. I wish more fighters were like him *cough cough Floyd*. But I don’t see him beating Martinez. Martinez has the reach and speed to out point Cotto.
