” The casual fans of this sport overlook the guys that fight for position and not fame. Floyd is out to protect his record and no matter what we think about that we can’t dismiss his ability to stay on top.”… This is true, but to be fair the vast majority of all fighters pick and choose once they become top bill fighters. In their defense prior to their status on top, they too have to fight for postition…. Take Broner for instance, he didn’t want to lose to Maidana, it was a positional type fight that he had to take. The better fighters get past the postitional stage, and at that point, they take on big money fights. Once they lose, they have to once again take those postional fights… At least that’s the way I’ve always seen it…

Bustajay; I live here in Atlanta; and I haven’t seen any snow yet. It’s just been drizzling rain all morning long.

Posted February 11, 2014 1:40 pm

Just ice and rain outside North ATL…radio was saying snow this morning as I hit panic button.
You know the roads start to close as soon as word breaks on the radio….I drove today made it south bound so should be good to go from this point.
Not sure about the morning.

@Hidalgo
Sad but true bro.
Don’t get me twisted as I am a big fan of Maidana because he fights for pride and the sport. He is not out to avoid risk, hell his whole career has been high risk fights, as he takes on any boxer.

The casual fans of this sport overlook the guys that fight for position and not fame. Floyd is out to protect his record and no matter what we think about that we can’t dismiss his ability to stay on top.

Maidana should be allowed this fight before Floyd exits the sport.

I want to fight Floyd um I want to be the best to be. I can do anything he say my phone is open. I will clean his home wash his cars and do his yards. Um Arum teaches me he is my God um Floyd is scared to me. And I want to win for the Philippines and the children I loves to sign um I never knew about taxes I just do I am told. I may have to fight 10 or 20 times before I can retire um I know longer want a lot of women um I am a Christian um I want to be the best um but Floyd needs to call me I needs to pay my bills um Arum said 40 million wasn’t enough um because I am scared of the needles um and my tattoos are fake. Um I just do what I am told um I am a humble little m o n k e y..

Floyd Money Mayweather

LOLs. I love my fans. All they talk about is my money and how much I’m getting. They don’t really care about boxing at all. I have the most nut-rider fans! I thank you.

Hell stop the madness bring on a mere con he wins the lotto get his ass beat and after the fight Floyd goes to the club 100 million dollars richer its the American dream…lol

Hidalgo-
“Sure it does, Bustajay. Because it don’t take much to get a shot with Floyd nowadays. Guerrero and Ortiz got a shot at him and yet neither one of them beat a three-time/three division world champion like Broner (WBO,WBC, WBA; super featherweight, lightweight, welterweight) before they fought Floyd.”
——————————————————————————–
*Good point. You add Amir KHAN’s name to that list as well.

I sincerely apologize for the technical difficulties on last night’s program. I hope it didn’t distract everyone from the content of the show.

I also hope last night’s program gave everyone a greater understanding as to why some of the match-ups and decisions are made within the sport that a lot of fight fans complain about.

BUSTAJAY

Well listen to the show and you will learn that the FIX was always in for Khan.
Look I like Maidana but he is just not ready. Beating the crap out of a flat footed AB does not put you in line for Floyd.

Maidana would struggle badly with Floyd so at least Khan has footwork and speed. I expect Floyd to carry this the whole fight and make Khan look silly. No KO and no TKO just hard work, dedication and a easy pay day for both boxers.

Posted February 10, 2014 6:19 pm

poor pacturds

A mere con is not the only one to benefit hell Floyd will pay him what he wants and walk away richer than ever as well. Hell he can beat up Kahn and go partying afterwards and make 100 million doing it easy. Poor Manny always the bridesmaid never the bride lol…

Posted February 10, 2014 1:56 pm

Khan is a joke. Obviously his 1.4m Twitter followers were always going to win him the poll, but that doesn’t change the fact that he has done NOTHING to earn the fight and has ZERO chance of winning. If the choice is between him and Maidana, I’d prefer Maidana. He has a belt, just beat Broner and is an established welterweight. khan has no belt, has never fought at welterweight before and is 2-2 in his last four fights, getting dropped by faded lightweight Julio Diaz last time out. How does Khan go from such bad form to fighting the best boxer on the planet? It’s ridiculous. I will not be buying the PPV. Khan just wants to cash out. He’ll retire after collecting his lottery pay day. It stinks.

its scripted its not even a fight ,….. just sparring don’t waste your money on this one !!

Khan’s Cuz Achmed

Funny thing is Amir is 100% ready for this fight. Lot’s of tasty crow will be eaten when Amir dethrones the money man. Floyd will be a broke strung out crackhead like his useless father within 10 years of retirement. King Khan will take Floyd down and the fight will happen as Floyd sees no way out and knows his O will go. #Showusthemoney #KingKhan2014 #FloydWearsKhanPajamas

Con vs Mayweather is a very disappointing fight. But if it is stacked with a good undercard then it will sell very good and probably still break a million. If not then he will still sell good just not like he normally does. But that is the difference between Top Rank and Golden Boy. Arum thinks people only tune in to the PPV for the main event. While Golden Boy thinks they are tuning in for all the fights. Which is why they put 3 or 4 of them on and show the early ones on Showtime Extreme.

Floyd can go shove his fight with Khan up his ass.

James Bond

I believe as many the fight between mayweather & khans inevitable. It’s likely to already be set up just not announced the poll was a laughable marketing ploy and floyd will fight khan. Im an Englishman, but in America this ppv will not do big numbers at all due to the disappointment of the opponent but I think golden boy may put maidana broner rematch on the undressed which would boost ppv very high as that’s great value for money mow having to appetising fights. mayweather in my opinion should boss this fight and it’s a joke khans even allowed tofoght him as he’s never even faith at welterweight. Floyd seriously should fight PAC and satisfy his fans regardless of if you think floyd wind easy (I doubt it would be easy far from it) you surely want to see that fight the event will be 10 times as big as mayweather canelo. He doesn’t seem to fancy the PAC fight but I hope it happens as it would be great for boxing and for the boxing fans.

Khan has 1.4m Twitter followers, he was always going to win the vote. But think about it, he only got 20k votes. What happened to all those other followers? Why did only a very small percentage of his followers vote for him? I guess even they knew Khan didn’t deserve the fight. And how many of those 20k voters are actually going to pay money for the PPV anyway? Probably less than a third. We have to let Floyd know on social media that Khan is simply not credible and this is not good enough. Offering fans a vote when it was always a one-horse race is not acceptable. We have to boycott this mismatch guys.

Anon, how can you make a statement like that about a 140 Garcia and a 147 Mayweather? Have you seen them spar or fight? Floyd hits harder than lay fans give him credit for, multiple champs have said that. Garcia has never been a big puncher. Cant see how you can make such a definitive statement.

Posted February 10, 2014 4:40 am

Danny Garcia is bigger, taller, and stronger than Floyd, and punches harder.

Posted February 10, 2014 3:01 am

Don’t care bout maywhether. not interesting.

Posted February 10, 2014 1:36 am

Danny would never beat a Thurman when he gets to welter let alone floyd.

Posted February 10, 2014 12:51 am

get over it

Danny Garcia is the truth but he is not ready for Floyd, Garcia is too small right now he needs to stay at 140lbs.

Posted February 10, 2014 12:06 am

TARK

Danny beats Matthysse every time… DG is underrated… Danny did that to LM’s eye… and knocked him down… and beat him good.

Matthysse looks fantastic against inept brawlers like Peterson.. Lamont said he was going to box Matthysse, but he can’t… He just doesn’t have skills.

Garcia just needs to polish up his jab a ton and he’ll have a complete game. He can defend, and his power punches and counters are great.

I only throw Garcia in there because I feel his victory at 140 over Lucas Mat, is much more impressive than the Maidona victory over Broner at 147.

Posted February 9, 2014 10:48 pm

Q for the people’s champ Ronnie!!

Essentially, all these guys in the money may sweepstakes, Kahn, Maidona, Garcia, are really Lightwelters, like you Ronnie. My question is, how do these guys rate, compared to guys from a better era of the game, the era of Shields, Costello, Mamby, Bruce Curry, etc? Don’t be humble Ronnie, give it to us straight brother!!

@ joesoph herron – once again the boxing king does it again! Another masterpeice of an article! So whats the word as far as you know? Will it be khan or maidana for sure? Ironically i feel khan can give floyd a good fight! Maidana is taylor made for floyd! A smaller version of canelo and less talented! Thanks again for the knowledge my friend. God bless!

Posted February 9, 2014 5:33 pm

Yes comparing Floyd to Hitler. That is funny. And just goes to show that Pac fans take everything Arum (i was lying yesterday but telling the truth today) as fact and truth. To be completely honest it was very ignorant of Arum to do that.

I know that, I just like saying that when people say they are going to boycott. That is like when they so called boycotted Roy Jones or as they called it then Roycott. His numbers never got worse though they never really improved neither. lol
