heavyweight boxing has been a total joke for nearly 20 years. period.

All this talk about fury vs chisora and chisora has a signed agreement with povetkin. It is a freaking circus if ever there was one. What is going on with this sport. The top contenders rarely face each other and wlad is facing a ranked 30 guy on boxrex being leapai and I would not be surprised if he has a rematch with mormeck. HW boxing is a complete joke. Fury called out browne, browne answered. Lets see what fury is made off.

keep the hw circus rolling.

Many top heavies through history were beaten or given tough times by blown up lt heavies and cruisers, so a flawed logic to trash Fury for that.

Posted February 18, 2014 5:23 am

TARK

That’s why I advocate fighting guys who match up with you to a certain extent… Even if you stack the odds in your favor, you want an actual fight … Even the guy Abell substituted for was terrible.

I you fight a guy you can beat standing on your head you have little incentive to train hard. You’re not going to learn anything from the fight. The sparring partners Fury hired for the Haye fight could all beat Abell with no problem. The sparring partners Haye used would all destroy Abell quickly. You don’t get better. You go backwards with fights like that.

I think both guys will come in at tip top condition. Fury gets a pass because of the issue with Haye and should show up in shape. Chisora is I shape and has not been out of shape for the last couple of fights so I don’t see any problem with his conditioning. Now the tale of the tape will be did Fury improve and will dominate Chisora or was the first win a fluke due to Chisora not being in shape. We want know until the bell rings!!!

@Fistington-Felchard.In shape? is that a joke mate. This fella couldnt get in shape no matter what he does because its obvious to see that he just doesnt have the genetics. I has hardly and muscle at all.

Posted February 17, 2014 11:34 pm

Fistington-Felchard

Fury could afford to be fat against an American bum like Abell, he’ll be in shape when it comes to the real fights against Europeans.

Tyson Fury has the body of some fat piss head in the pub! skinny arms and saggy tits.

Posted February 17, 2014 9:54 pm

Fight Aficionado

If Tyson is in top physical shape I think it’s rinse/repeat from last time. Problem is given his lard belly on Saturday, now both he and Chisora have a history of weight problems so we never know what we’re getting until they get on the scale.

Kareem Abdul-Jabaar

By the end of 2015, I expect Fury and Chisora to both have been KO’d by Anthony Joshua.

Fury is definitely still plagued with depression and anxiety disorder, chisora is also unstable. I would like to see how he or chisora would handle perez or lucas browne.

Fury been out of the ring almost a year..thanks to Haye pulling out twice. So Fury ofcourse was going to be rusty, but was overweight aswell. Now being rusty wasnt really Furys fault, but being overweight like that was.But Fury still got a early stoppage and did the job.Now as Fury gets back in the gym and fights more again,we should see him in the shape he looked in when training for Haye.Fury just needs the dedication and needs to stay busy in the ring and the rest will come…hes still very young and a fighter to watch as he moves toward a belt in the future…

Posted February 17, 2014 1:33 pm

Die Siener

Fury is right about Chisora, but seems to lack awareness about his own limitations. Neither fighter has improved since they last met. Chisora and Fury are both mediocre and stand no chance agains fit, young and capable opposition. What these guys are being taught in the gym is beyond me. Chisora slaps and arm punches and Fury has absolutely zero defense for anything aimed at his head. This makes for a somewhat entertaining local scrap which would be suited for a small hall on the club circuit. Two fat geezers having a tear up….hardly anything that would scare WK. As limited as Joshua is he has a 50:50 against either of these. The kid looks fit and he can punch a bit which is more than these two can claim.

it was embarrassing to see Fury so flabby with so much on the line. He and fellow second tier heavyweight Dereck Chisora will likely meet for a lot of UK money and then clamor for a title fight. We’ve seen this routine so many times, a super hype job in the UK and the false sense that what you are seeing is world-class action. Remember that Chisora and Johnson were easily beaten by an actual world-class Vitali Klitschko. Abell is at best an action club fighter in the US. Fury himself was flattened by a old cruiserweight who wasn’t a big hitter at that weight. Nothing that happened Saturday should be seen as elite level — and certainly no one who appeared in that ring has a remote chance of unseating Wladimir Klitschko.

Good article. I think Fury’s best weight for Chisora would be around 260, which would require some road work on his part. It’s also important to watch the progress of Baby Hughie on the sidelines as he slowly moves up.

leapai is ranked 29 on boxrec. That’s pretty accurate. I would like to see pulev vs jennings, both guys are movers. Both are under powered for wlad.

Yeah I think it will be the same result as the first one. Though if Chrisora comes in shape then he has a better chance. But I still see Fury winning on points.

Fury looked out of shape and flabby. Yet he looked pretty good Saturday night. He’s definately progressed asa fighter and if he gets his head back in the game and back into shape I think he’ll be the future of the division. Chisoras only hope is that he gets himself awsoem shape and Fury continues in his current lifestyle and he can outwork an out of shape Fury.

i believe tyson fury even if he showed up in the same lard a** out of shape he did against abell could still KO wilder in under 3 rounds

Posted February 17, 2014 9:36 am

Yeah right … same way as you “easily” defeated him first time when he was way out of shape.

Anyone else notice that many of the top 25 – 30 ranked heavyweights fight each other EXCEPT WILDER?

Chisora will KO Fury if they meet again. You can take that to the bank.

.I dont see the point in a rehash of Fury-Chisora I. The end result would be the same. Similarly, Adamek is too small and weak to trouble Fury much. I’d rather see Fury fight Pulev and Chisora rematch Helenius. Wins over those two would surely get both in position for a title shot.

Pulеv-Wlаd will hаppеn 150% surе аbout this…. Аftеr lеаpаi fight , pulеv mауbе will fight 5 04 in Gеrmаnу but not surе.

If Kubrаt bеаt Wlаdimir thаn Skу is а limit….

pulev vs fury would be interesting. Pulev uses the ring well and has a good jab but has a limited inside game. Fury can fight on the inside and outside. Pulev has chopped down big men, ustinov and dimitrenko are both 6’8. Fury moves better than ustinov and is much tougher than dimitrenko. It would be a good fight. If fury came in heavy and did not show mental focus he would lose. If his head was right and he came in at 250ish he would have a good chance.

nothing special about Chisora, just an ordinary heavy bum

Posted February 17, 2014 3:47 am

I would like to chisora win, but cant see it. Chisora has apllied himself really well since the haye loss, none of his old antics and has been really focused. I think his lack of power and the massive height difference will be to much for him. If Fury does his butterbean impression again it could be his only chance.

Posted February 17, 2014 3:34 am

Wazza_G1980

There were indeed some questionable decisions by the referees in the two main bouts on Saturday. I can’t see Chisora winning against even a slightly more in shape Fury. Fury despite his big mouth and funny antics at times actually has real boxing skill (when he chooses to use it). If Fury fights the same way he did against Johnson Del Boy will be shut out on all the cards. If he comes in in the mood for a gun-slinging match like Cunningham the Del boy is getting knocked out! Now Hughie -Chisora would be a more even match at this stage of Hughie’s career.

Posted February 17, 2014 3:08 am

WHAT!?!

I just cannot bring myself to like this moron. He is a delusional toss pot. He actually has a go at the opponents that Chisora has faced. That’s the pot calling the kettle black. I’m not a fan of Chisora because he is a disrespectful woman beater but his attitude to his boxing career exposes Fury for the coward he is. Chisora with no hesitation called out Povetkin as a warm up to the big summer heavyweight pie eating contest, yet Fury runs from all that responded to his mouthing off and false challenges. No doubt he’ll face a nobody again with 1 weeks notice to prepare.

Whаt do уou tink аbout Furу-pulеv if thеу mеаt in thе ring?

fury self admittedly was depressed for the last few months of 2013 which explains the weight gain. If he comes in at around 250-255 against chisora I think he will handle him even easier than in the first fight. At 6’9 and being able to fight on the inside and outside an in shape fury is too much for chisora.

I still cant believe fury showed up so fat.

Prof Konje

Good point about Fury being too tall for Chisora to hit behind the head as he did with Johnson. That ref should be ashamed as that kind of punch, especially repeated punches, could kill someone and has. I also see Fury beatiing Chisora, but don’t really care who wins and would like to see them beat the crap out of each other. But no matter which guy wins, Wlad will be waiting for him and we all know what will happen then.
