HOW old is Lomachenko again???? OH NO WONDER he wants to HURRY UP and get beat a CHAMP in 2nd Pro Fight! He’s 26 and realizes that he’s already 2 YEARS behind the GOAT. He’s got MUCH work to DO.

What world title did floyd win in his second pro fight and how many gold medals at the Olympics again cause the great vas has 2

Posted February 27, 2014 4:28 am

YES. And WINNING a Pro Championship at 24 is EARLIER than 26 no matter how you cut it. Maybe he can WIN his 2nd earlier than Floyd DID but TOO late on WINNING his first. GOOD try though.

Nope. The GREATEST athlete would have WON Gold at the Olympics but there were ROBBERS out there. SO the GREATEST athlete was SO GREAT that when he turned Pro he SPANKED guys SO bad that he even started to defeat the ROBBERS….They tried to ROB him vs Castillo but he defeated the ROBBERY. They also tried to ROB him vs De la Hoya but he defeated the ROBBERY there TOO…..Congrats to Lomachenko for WINNING the title in his 2nd Pro Fight but he came LATE to the party. Floyd WON his first World title at 24 yrs old while Lomachenko is already 26. WOW!!!!

The greatest athlete would have won gold at the Olympics, but there was better out there. Vasyl has 2 gold. And going to break a record floyd could have never dreamed of. World champ in his second fight. The facts agree with me on that!!

Swedish Boxing Fan

Who cares if Floyd Mayweather jr earned more money or not against Canelo or whatever name to bring up here. The fights are safe boxing any way and never ends up a good fight to look at in any way as Mayweather Jr only fights opponents he can pick and all his fans buys it with-out accepting the thud of that he don’t fight the TRUE opponents he should fight in right order.
He is no true legend to have the right to choose and pick opponents right like that to add.
Of course you won’t lose if you always fight opponents you know you can defeat and avoid those who can have a chance to defeat you but that is not what boxing is all about for the public. The public wants’ champions who takes on a real challenge, not safe-keeping.

The point is the same here like many have better said here. If a fight is good or not ids not determed on how much money it was sold tickets or PPV for at all as many historical top fights are out of that top billing list.
The US dollar was also worth a lot more back in the 50′s, 60′s, 70′ etc so those dollars where better plus that there are more people living on this planet now then back then and the media coverage is a lot bigger now with all communication tools we have then what existed back in the old boxing days.

Oh more to say, the money earned in a fight doesn’t make the athletic effort at all bigger or better by performance.
If fans of Floyd Mayweather Jr only cares for how much he earns on his fights or his bling-bling style of living, then I feel sorry for these people as they are NOT fans of the sport of boxing but fans of Dollars = MONEY.

These people should go and buy stocks and get there kicks on the stock market, not by watching boxing or any sport.

No matter what any Floyd Mayweather Jr fans says about the money issues or that Floyd Mayweather jr is still undefeated etc is all just on the paper, It will stay the same and the fact that people prefer to talk about other fighters matches from the past years then now says it all that Mayweather Jr lacks the heart to deliver those memoble fights to the people and money is not what we definitely don’t care to hear for so all PPV talk is just, greed, baloney and brag but no performance. Kind of empty is it yes?

We real fans care about boxers fights and the best opponents they face and the wars we watches.
There is a reason why we love to talk about legends like Marvin Hagler, Thomas Hearns, Joe Louis, Sugar Ray Robinson, Oscar De la Hoya, Roy Jones jr, Mike Tyson, Julio Cesar Chavez, Evander Holyfield, George Foreman, Larry Holmes, Mohammad Ali, Joe Frazier and the list goes on and on.

Floyd Mayweather jr maybe have earned lots of money, maybe he have won a lot of fights and WBC belts BUT that will not make him to a lovable legend like these fighters became and WHY?

Because they fought the best opponents there was and didn’t make a living on cherry picking there opponents ALL the time and duck the best challenges as the good money still comes with those challenges.

End of story.

The Greatest Promoter of All Times

Hecdog, a serious question for you.
What happens if Tim Bradley defeats Manny in April, which is not impossible considering how he outboxed MARQUEZ last time out? A wize man once told me never put all your faith in someone else or your eggs in one basket. Anything can happen on any given day and it’s clear to all that Manny is in decline. I don’t want to read on here how you jumped out the window or did something worse because the man you worshipped has lost. Seriously dude take up racketball, go swimming, quad biking, anything. Get off these threads and enjoy your life.

The Greatest Promoter of All Times

Khan’s next opponent

List of Opponents Amir Khan should seriously consider:

Jesse Vargas… dangerous fight for Khan. Once on The Money Team they discussed THE REMEDY for him to beat Khan even before he took on JOSESITO LOPEZ and won ( a fight Khan would think very hard about before deciding to pass)

Josesito Lopez.. another dangerous fight for Khan. Josesito has no quit and is tall and long limbed and can fight in close – exactly the sort of fighter Khan doesn’t do well against.

Manny Pacquiao… Just who did get the better of those heated sparring sessions? There are several rumours that khan did indeed have the speed to bamboozle Manny, and is a fight that swings more in the favour of Khan with Pac’s reluctance to trade blows since his devastating KO defeat.

Timothy Bradley… Khan had twitter wars with Tim when both were at 140, but the fight didn’t happen as Tim put on 7 pounds and looked for more significant challenges. If Tim beats Manny in April, this feud could be rekindled and should tell us a lot more about both men, although Tim seems to have matured into a smooth boxer as well as an inside dynamo.

Danny Garcia… If Khan stays at 140 he needs to avenge his hammering by Swift…. I see him lasting longer, but ending up with a lopsided defeat or late rounds capitulation.

Lucas Matthysse… If Khan wants to prove he can hold a shot he can challenge the Argentinian assassin at a catchweight, say 145 and attempt to outbox him. If he stands and trades, expect to see a highlight KO reel for The Machine.

Special K – Kell Brook….. Battle of Britain. Kell is on the rise and needs a marquee name on his ledger. This won’t be easy for either man and could come down to temperament on the night to establish the winner and both men have shown flaws here. A win for either would be huge for their top-table bargaining.

Keith Thurman… I doubt Khan will take One Time as despite his exposure he is an unknown commodity. I expect Khan would box off the back foot here and run at times to get he nod, in the fashion he defeated Kotelnik.

Adrien Broner at a catchweight would be interesting as he is coming off of a loss and keen to get back in the saddle. Funnily enough, this is an ideal match for both men to come back and look spectacular in. I can see scenarios for both men to win, but something tells me Khan could win this one in a shoot-out. He has far too much volume for The Problem and could prove too mobile. I see Broner enticing him into a shootout at some point and Khan beating him to the punch. Khan by close decision.

Collazo is a solid southpaw, that Amir would elect to box and move against for 12 rounds, reminiscent of Sugar Shane Mosley, although Luis surprised us by winning a 2 round slugfest with Vicious Victor last time out.

Not sure which way Khan will go, but with a year out he may well choose a lesser warm up fighter in the manner of a Molina, before getting back in the saddle, but any of the above options would prove to be exciting and perhaps explosive!!!!

I’m not disputing the whole arum thing. He is a devil in the sport. And if it is finalised that he has resigned then more fool manny. All I’m saying is that he will also fight 4 more times at a 20-30 mill a fight. If manny really wants the fight he won’t resign. If floyd really wants it he will work with arum. Both unlikely.

Azzbox apparently you don’t know that contractual Manny owes Arum his life and he signed to fight Bradley and Marquez 5 and a 2 year extension Arum his pimp will not let him fight Floyd he never will you morons talk all this scared crap but papers are binding and you have to follow and Manny is under obligations. Arum expects Floyd to bow to him in order for the fight to happen, because he never got over the fact Floyd left top rape.

Manny* himself would sit you down and plead for you to face reality after he smacks you in an attempt to shake you out of your delusional thinking.

If you two had attended Junior high together, he would have bullied you like he’s done against his DRAINED opposition while under the influence of DRUGS. He’ll* be on his stuff against Bradley; so now we can safely predict a KO at the hands of PacROID*! Why has your hero ONLY taken RANDOM testing against a lighter guy that lost 2 of his last 3 fights? Is it because his former conditioning coach was in the other corner? …..Again, PacROID* by KO!! Bradley will be clean, PEDquiao* will not!!

If Pac* was to come in clean – Bradley most likely by decision….. since he’ll be the 1st mover he’s* ever faced!

Get some new lines TEFLON. Your not earning 20 mill a fight and no golden boy fighter is earning 10 mill a fight. Canelo got 8 for floyd. So being 2nd biggest ain’t to bad. Floyd should make Broner sit front row for the lesion he is going to give Maidana. Poor Manny always the bridesmaid never the bride. Look for this fight to gross a lot of money because of Chico de Mayo and Maidana is coming off a big win unlike Kahn who never deserved sht. And Manny needs Floyd but Floyd will make 150-200 mil this year without bowing to the likes of a snake like Arum who thought Manny was special now he is stuck on the outside like the rest of the bums begging for a shot I bet he is still kicking himself in the ass for not taking the fight in 09. The top news of the day is about Manny Pacquiao. The long awaited Movie “MANNY” narrated by the great actor Liam Neeson is set to open in the Philippines on March 12th. I suggest everyone that comments on the ESB site view this inspirational documentary about the ONLY 8 division Boxing Champion in history. I truly believe this will be nominated for Documentary of the year. Manny Pacquiao is a living legend that astounded the sports world when he came on the scene. Today, he is widely considered the greatest fighter of all time. This highly anticipated documentary should be sensational and will open the eyes of those that have never taken the time to learn about this prize fighting warrior. Congratulations to Manny Pacquiao for adding another successful step in his already impressive life and career.

He would get a few punches on Floyd, he lose but make Floyd look bad.
Maidana it too short and shaft arms, he was the idea 1-4 right hand will connect with a low left hand. But Floyd moves that head all the time . Maidana will look Floyd look good standing right in front but just out of range of his short arm, miss match. But fun for Floyd fans.

Maidana is on a hot streak, Khan is a on a cold streak. Khan needs to put some good wins together if he want’s big fights. At this point, it’s looking like Khan, is worried about losing to a lower level fighter, and never getting another chance at big pay days. That shows you where his confidence level is at.

Posted February 25, 2014 11:21 pm

Hecdog, quit the whining. Maidana deserves the fight… You spent the last 10 months defending Pacquiao’s fight with Rios. That fight was a mismatch, from day one, and the card was worse than terrible. Unlike Rios, Maidana’s coming off of 3 impressive wins, and has actually been campaigning at WW. That wasn’t the case with Rios now, was it??? I’m not trying to down Pacquiao here, I’m just proving a point, that you’re here writting articles about how this fight shouldn’t be happening, and at the same point you’ve been writing articles (not simple posts) for month’s about how Rios was a worthy opponent. The only thing worthy about Rios was that everyone wondered if Manny could still take a punch after that brutal knockout loss. Heck, most of us knew Rios wasn’t going to have much of a chance to land anything… This fight here is no worse than the Macao mess, yet I’m sure the card as a whole will be much, much better…

Horrible, ridiculous article trying to convince smart boxing fans that Maidana is the best option for Mayweather. Once again, Floyd has HUGE advantages in speed, boxing skills, agility, athleticism, experience, reflexes, talent, defense, ring generalship and every aspect of boxing. Alexander beat Maidana fairly easy, Khan beat Maidana and hit him with everything conceivable. And some other unknown guy back in 2009 gave Maidana a boxing lesson. Now, tell me how on earth Maidana has any kind of chance to win this fight. All this after Mr. Coward Mayweather puts out some DUMB pole for his fans, and the fans pick Khan, and still Mayweather makes fools of them all as he goes the opposite way that his fans voted for. Mayweather is making a mockery of this wonderful sport. He has DUCKED everyone that posed a challenge to him. He has obviously ran, hid and left the country just to avoid Manny Pacquiao. This fight will not go the distance, and it will be a replay of Mayweather vs Baldomir or worse, Larry Holmes vs Randall ‘Tex” Cobb. This will follow the massacre of Canelo vs Angulo. These are fights that will see one fighter destroying their limited one dimensional opponents. These fights are not competitive in the least. Once again, the 80′s and 90′s offered great competitive fights pitting the top contenders or champions fighting each other. Today, we have Floyd Mayweather as the model of ducking opposition, lying to his fans, and cherry picking those fights that present no challenge to him due to old age, catch weights, physically drained opponents, one dimensional or inexperience. Fans have been clamoring for Mayweather to fight Manny Pacquiao. He cowardly continues to run. The quality Cuban Erislandy Lara. He doesn’t even think about. GGG, forget about it. In his earlier days,he ran from Kostya Tyzu, Shane Mosely, Oscar De La Hoya, Paul Williams and many others. Floyd Mayweather made some good choices picking his management team. He has made a lot of money. He remains unbeaten in the record books even though he lost to Castillo and an old Oscar De La Hoya. He still is looked at as the DUCKER, DODGER, AVOIDER and most importantly, the man that is plain scared of fighting Manny Pacquiao. Floyd Mayweather will not another easy win to earn another padded victory over a tough, but very limited Marcos Maidana. And the only way these types of lower level fights will stop will be when fans stop buying these horrible PPV fights. The under card will undoubtedly be the Main Event. That’s how Haymon and company seem try to convince fans to pay ridiculous amounts of money for these PPV. Don’t buy this PPV if you’re smart. Floyd already had his laugh as he went the opposite way that his fans voted for. Don’t think for a second he won’t be laughing when you pay for next PPV.

Lexington, MA my friend. I am a normal everyday working person that admires Manny Pacquiao. His story is one that is intriguing in more way than one. If fans would take the time to read this man’s life story and see where he has come from. I believe everyone that has an open mind and good heart would be applauding and cheering for this humble man. He’s a true model fighter and human being. His biggest success is found outside the squared circle. He gives to those in need. He donates millions of dollars even against his closest friends asking him to be careful with his money, but he knows no other way. He was raised with poverty, and wants to help those that are living in that dark dismal dungeon of poverty. And this not the poverty in the USA, but poverty in a third world country that. Manny is well off today even with his tax issue. He’s walked through the streets of hopelessness as a child, and has reached the pinnacle of sports. He is a modest, humble, respectful, giving, caring person that turns no one away. Look at his fights, and you see the fury that lives deep inside of him. Watch his post fight interview, and you can’t help but like him because he is a real person that never puts on a front for the audience. He never swears, boasts or complains. Manny has true character. Those of us that have children of our own would choose Manny to be their role model. There are still some people that can’t stand to see such a wonderful person. They try and knock him down and are constantly looking to see fault in Manny Pacquiao, and that’s a shame. He is a loyal person to a fault. You then look at a fighter like Floyd Mayweather. Here is a person that is the complete opposite. He brags, boasts, disrespects, swears, brags about his fame, fortune and shows off all his worldly materialistic possessions. This is a man that is empty inside looking to full fill that big empty hole in his heart. He craves attention, for him it’s about me, me, me. His entire character is about one thing and one thing only, MONEY. Manny Pacquiao has worked hard to make himself one of those great successful cross over athletes that connects with people from all over the world. In the USA, he’s one of the most sought after people. You’ll see him on all the sports shows, news stations and every day talk shows. This happens because of who Manny Pacquiao is. He’s well liked by all. Let’s just take a look at some of his accomplishments: Fighter of The Decade, The ONLY 8 division Boxing Champion in history, Cover of TIME Magazine, Platinum Music records, Invited to White House by President Obama, Hit movies world wide, Most sought after athlete by sponsors/companies, CONGRESSMAN of the Philippines, Helped pass a Human trafficking Bill, Successful Model, supports a variety of charities to help the needy. And these are just a few of his accomplishments. I enjoy watching Manny’s career as it unfolds. His next fight vs Timothy Bradley will be memorable, historic and a fight for the ages. Auzbox, I didn’t check the ratings before I posted that. But I didn’t have to, to realize Mayweather is considered the champion, “aka number 1″ and Bradley is right behind him at number 2 at WW. You can call Bradley the number 1 contender if you want to nit pick, but he’s still number 2. At WW. Right???

The princess: Floyd is known around the world and becoming infamous! Fan base is not as big as you think, it’s more of a haters base. Floyd has been followed by mini Floyd Broner but it’s not the same. Even others try to copy Floyd’s and they can’t get his style. They forget that no matter how the copy Floyd they won’t succeed because Floyd’s success comes from CHERRY PICKING and DEMANDS!

nameless – If “major knob head” is referring to Adrian Broner, then yes, that’s what makes it personal. I’ve said this fight would happen the night Maidana beat Broner. Also, the fans have spoken and want to see if Maidana can beat the master (Floyd) like he beat the student (Broner).

Why is it personal for Floyd? Because this guy beat the other major knob head in boxing?

“Khan’s biggest flaw in his recent fights is overconfidence and a desperate desire to impress with a spectacular KO win. consequently, he gets caught with his opponent’s best flush-shots, which his chin obviously can’t handle. IMO, a wiser and humbler Khan polishes his defensive skills and begins to set-up his big shots rather than risking reckless exchanges. he’s not Maidana or Pacquiao* and he may have to resign himself to becoming a “boring” winner instead of a spectacular loser.”

Good comment. I agree entirely — though it’s not only a recent mistake; he’s made it throughout his career. It’s doubtful he can change, but if he can improve his defence and footwork, and generally fight more intelligently (which, as you suggest, will also mean a lot more cautiously and technically, making him somewhat more ‘boring’), he could still be a serious threat to anyone at 140.

As for 147, he’s never fought at that weight, so we don’t know. It certainly didn’t work for Hatton, who had a much better chin than Khan has (and at least as bad a defence), but was badly staggered at the end of his fight with Collazo when he tried to move up to 147.

nameless – Things change. Maidana recovered and got better with his career, while Khan’s career declined and got worst. It would be different, if Khan was wrecking shop after he “survived” Maidana but that didn’t happen. Maidana earned it and it’s personal for Floyd.

What I find funny about the people that claim Floyd’s career isn’t as great as Pacman, is how they have to spam every Floyd article with comments trying to prove it. The same names, the same comments, and yet Floyd’s fanbase gets bigger. More and more up-and-coming boxers study Floyd a lot more than they study Pacquiao, and Floyd is often mentioned by world leaders as one of their favorite fighters to study and watch. They still haven’t learned. Their hatred give Floyd his power for success.

Maidana is formidable & more deserving than Con. But Bradley is more formidable than both. At least we know Maidana won’t fold under pressure. Con has the will but not the legs or chin. Con took Paulie’s shots so he could have taken lil floyd’s. Look for lil floyd to win & quickly vacate this title so Broner can fight some scrub to get it back. The Al Hyman hype machine chugs down the tracks.

Pactards are the laughing stock of boxing.

Pacroid keeps making his fans look foolish over and over again.

The pactards were a lil’ over-excited when Pacroid was on his PED fueled tear back in 2009 and they began acting out and calling out Mayweather.

Mayweather answered and agreed to fight Pacroid. Mayweather agreed to Pacroids’ choice of glove size, ring size and even a ridiculous $10M per lb overweight penalty, but Pacroid refused Mayweathers’ sole demand that they both submit to random blood testing with hilarious comments “afraid of needles”, “I am superstitious” and ” blood loss makes me weak”.

Egg on the pactards face.

J.M.Marquez would hire Angel Heredia for rematches against Pacroid in 2011 and 2012. The pactards went into a frenzy accusing Marquez of PED use because of his association to Heredia.

Marquez fans countered these accusations as beautifully as Marquez countered Pacroid with that KO punch. Pactards were reminded that yes Marquez did hire a PED cheat for 2 fights, but that Pacroid had worked with PED cheats Justine Fortune and Alex Ariza for 13 years straight and nearly 30 fights. In short, if Marquez was cheating he did so only against another fighter who was on PEDs so the playing field was even and it would not tarnish Marquezs’ career at all. Pacroid on the other hand built his whole career on Fortune and Ariza, tarnishing everything he accomplished from 2001 to present.

Double egg on the pactards faces.

Then for the Marquez/Bradley fight, the pactards went into a frenzy yet again when it was revealed that only Bradley would do the VADA testing and Marquez’ blood testing would be monitored by the NSAC. The pactards said that Marquez’ refusal to do VADA testing was proof that he was juicing.

Recently for the Pacroid/Bradley II fight, it has also been revealed that only Bradley will be doing VADA testing and that Pacroid will be doing testing by the NSAC. To make matters worse it’s not even clear if Pacroid will be blood testing at all. Suddenly the pactards are silent on the issue and VADA is no longer “the best” like they claimed before.

Egg on the pactards faces AGAIN.

Pactards have so much egg on their faces they’re beggining to look like an omellette.

I’ve been a Floyd fan since his days at 130 when he was Pretty Boy Floyd, had a more fan friendly style and sought to fight the best.

I am in favor of Maidana over Khan. However, overall, I’m not in favor of this fight.

I do think no matter how tough the opponent is, you will always have negative comments towards Floyd.

PAC and Bradley are the two fighters worth watching against Floyd at this point that are at WW. But both still align themselves with Top Rank knowing full well that FLoyd won’t deal with Top Rank.

So other than that, he would have to move up to Jrm and MW to please more fans which if you go by his fight-time weight and overall size, it’s a bit unfair.

I would love to see him fight MW though.

(THE RING) Lem’s latest: Mayweather calm before Guerrero storm
May 3, 2013

THE GLOVES

Mayweather is expected to wear Grant brand gloves, and Guerrero, Reyes, according to Nevada State Athletic Commission exectutive director Keith Kizer, adding that the fighters have agreed to wear 8-ounces gloves.

Elvis Grant, proprietor of Mayweather’s gloves, told RingTV.com that Ellerbe advised him that it was Mayweather who requested the gloves at that size.

Posted February 25, 2014 4:17 pm

D

Glove size doesn’t matter that much once you get past 8oz. You can knock anybody out with 23oz sparring mitts which Amos Johnson was wearing when he floored George Chuvalo with a short left hook.

The only thing is, it’s easier to protect yourself with bigger gloves. MMA gloves will knock you out pretty damned fast. You can’t hide behind them. Even getting hit on the hands hurts.

Agree, Bradley would have been a good opponent but months back Floyd said it won’t happen as long as Bradley is with Top Rank. And what does Bradley do? Re-signs with Top Rank which he admits hurts his chance at fighting Floyd. He just hoped that Floyd being his own boss that he would still be able to get the fight made which makes no sense because everyone who has read what Floyd has said knows Floyd does not do business with Arum. Become independent like Cotto did and you can get your shot if you are deserving and bring in the sales.

Floyd asked for 8oz gloves vs. Cotto.

Floyd prefers 8oz gloves actually if you couldn’t figure that out by now from his interviews and watching his fights. Why?

Floyd throws faster with 8oz than 10.
Floyd throws harder with 8oz than 10.

Wait, what, harder? YES, Floyd actually does have power. And he needs all the pop he can get to make his opponent rethink his attack. Add in the speed, and the power, with those 8oz gloves, his opponents start to wear out mentally because he is hitting them and they can’t hit him.

You see, the glove size could be 6oz and it wouldn’t bother Floyd because he rarely gets hit clean. So again, it benefits him. And who knew this? OSCAR AND COTTO.

Let’s see, Mayweather is faster, better defense, better movement, better jab, better hook, fought better competition, better reflexes, more athletic, better counter puncher, better use of the ring, better stamina Hmm…Maidana is tough, strong will to fight, good predictable over hand right. This fight will be a one sided beating, and yes, Mayweather will stop Maidana, trust me on this. Matter of fact, I’m betting by house, cars, retirement, saving/checking accts and my bike that Maidana gets stopped. I guarantee this will happen. Manny Pacquiao is the best!

I agree 100%. I won’t spend a dime to watch this. We already know who wins. It’s always the same Floyd fights an easy fight for millions, and his opponent, who has never made a million for a fight ,gets a couple million, and he wins too. THE FANS are the losers. Until little floyd fights someone with a chance to beat him, why be a sucker?.

Funny how all these Floyd haters say Floyd is not undisputed though he is the champ. So he takes on another titlest in his division and he is ducking someone. Maidana has actually earned the fight unlike other fighters that yall actually want to see him fight. When Maidana beat Broner everybody said Floyd won’t fight Maidana after what he did to Broner. But once he became an option everybody is now saying he is cherry picking again. Laughable.

There is an idiotic post up here that I want to address. GGG did not call out Mayweather.

GGG was asked about the idea of fighting Mayweather and said it is a fight he would want. That’s not calling someone out.

A perfect example of Mayweather being called out is Shane Mosley. Called him out face to face. Not through social media. Get it right!

Worst PED cheat in the history of all sports

There’s 2 interviews on youtube that should make it clear to anyone that Pacroid is a cheat.

ESNewsReporting.com did an interview with Justine Fortune, Pacroid’s S&C coach for 9 years.

When asked about his thoughts on PEDs in boxing Fortune had this to say.

Justine Fortune: “Come on dude, you’re in a sport with money in it, if you’re top 10 in your sport you’re either on it, been on it, or thinking of going on it and if you haven’t you’re a (Explicit) liar. Sometimes the monetary gain outweighs the risk. You need to realize that that’s the way it is, it’s in the game, it’s in everything, it’s in absolutely everything, So stop crying about it, if you’re dumb enough to get caught on it then that’s your (Explicit) fault”

This guy is responsible for what Pacroid has put in his body for 9 years.

Then there’s the Radio Rahim interview with Freddie Roach.

Interviewer: What was your thoughts when you heard that Brandon Rios failed the drug test?

Freddie Roach:” I know he has a new strength coach and I don’t get along with the guy (Alex Ariza) and one of the reasons he doesn’t work with me anymore is because I think he’s a little shady, he used to give Manny a drink everyday before workouts, I asked him what’s in that drink and he would never tell me and I said I need to know because you’re giving it to my fighter and if something goes wrong I’m gonna get the blame, in my opinion he’s shady, he’s with that camp now and it doesn’t surprise me that happened”

Check out the interviews on youtube.

Pacroid could confess on national television and Pactards would still be in denial.

Writer my friend, this is an awful fight that was specifically targeted to make Floyd look great and also put Broner in his place. Yes, Floyd never really liked Broner being somewhat of a duplicate of himself. Now he jumps at the opportunity to pick apart Maidana, a fighter that has nothing to offer in terms of boxing skills. Floyd knows full well that Maidana is a very limited fighter that walks in and throws round house punches over and over. he comes in shape, takes a good punch and has a strong fighting heart. Toughness rarely beats anyone in boxing. Khan on the other hand lacked heart and owns a glass jaw, but he would have made it much more interesting because he has good speed, good boxer and his physical attributes would give Floyd some problems. Do I think he would beat Floyd? No, but his style has a much better chance to make it competitive. I like Maidana, but his plodding forward, no speed, no boxing skills, no reflexes, basically no nothing is going to take a beating like Baldomir, Gatti, Lamotta, Cobb and every other tough fighter facing a good boxer. Floyd turning his back on those that voted on his dumb poll for a Khan fight were made to look stupid. Floyd is forever a fraud. Don’t let this man take your money and make a fool out of everyone that pays him any attention.

I think Mayweather put the poll up in order to get Khan as an opponent. A last ditch effort to come down the doubters of his choice of opponent. I don’t think he saw Maidana as being that favored because one would think Khan is more well known and has the bigger fanbase.
I don’t think he calculating ESPN and other sites were going to do their own polls, have a higher vote turnout, and basically burn his own poll.

Floyd wanted Khan.
It was the backlash on the net when Khan’s name was mentioned as an opponent that had him rethink it. Maidana beating the crap out of Broner spoiled it. On top of that, Khan’s subpar performance his last time out wasn’t a help. Khan sunk his own chances with previous fights.

If Peterson could beat him, what would Floyd do?
If Garcia can end up timing him, what would Floyd do?
If Juilo Diaz can give him fits, what would Floyd do?

Those are the questions that Khan allowed with his performances and had Floyd rethinking what he saw as an easy payday.

I’m not for the Maidana fight either but Floyd knows Maidana is better for sales at this point than Khan.

It’s the, “What have you done for me lately”

Sanchez says that Golovkin is ready to face him in terms of being capable of taking the fight, but they still have too many fighters at 160 that they still haven’t fought yet.

@ Hecdog. I keep reading you pie-eyed posts and I still can’t decide whether you are being serious, tongue-in-cheek or sheer insane regarding your praise for Pac. Are you for real or just parodying a typical Pac fan? Please, let me know. Otherwise, I have a decent list of medical people you can consult regarding your Pac mania. (it’s outta hand, bro). You raise a point re PPV and Pac. I watched Pac vs Bradley the first time they fought and it was seriously on of the most boring fights I’ve seen for many a long year. Back this up with Pac vs Rios, which was a total waste of everyone’s time and I can’t see how you think that the rematch will be anything but a borefest as the last fight Bradley had with Marquez. Both men are gunshy. I can’t see this doing much for either fighter except getting the W. It will resemble something of a sparring session with neither man being able to hit the other and both men spending vast amounts of the fight out of range and therefore no punches will be exchanged. Hecdog, save your dollars for some med-aid. It will be the best money you have ever spent.

GGG and his team has said they are not looking at anybody at 168 even though they laid the claim anybody from 154 to 175. Ward said he would take the fight and his team said they are not moving up and will clean out 160 first. They want GGG even in negotiating terms before they challenge Ward. Basically they are not ready for Ward and thought that nobody would take them up on their challenge. Even Hopkins said he would take the fight. Good move by GGG though, he has business at 160 and should be the champ before long.

Time for boxing fans to get smart and not buy this PPV or any other of Mayweathers BS fights. Seriously, Maidana is the most predictable fighter in boxing. He has no chance whatsoever of beating Mayweather. This is the biggest fraud of a fight ever. Floyd makes all of his fans look stupid as they vote for Khan, and Floyd laughs his ass off as he goes the opposite direction and instead picks Maidana. If anyone thinks Maidana has any chance whatsoever, they have some serious issues. Maidana has no defense, horrible feet, no boxing skills, no agility, no reflexes, no gas tank, the man offers nothing, but determination and toughness. This is a beautiful recipe for Floyd Mayweather. I guarantee 1000% that Maidana gets stopped badly. Boxing is letting Mayweather turn the sport into one big joke. You can give Floyd your money if you want to, but I’m not paying a dime. Mr Cherry Picker strikes again. Now, who’s going to pay for this farce?

Khan looking for his next fight … he needs a big win to get back into the hunt for Mayweather and other big fights. He needs to be spectacular and not get hurt given his history with a weak chin.

Here are my suggestions — Khan should fight:

– Dora the Explorer … I think Khan can take her best punch
– Kermit the Frog … I think Khan can take his best punch although Kermit does have long arms and good hand and foot speed
– Barney the Dinosaur … This is a more dangerous fight for Khan. Barney might get rough with Khan and attempt to back him up and out muscle him.

If Khan can survive these tough challenges — then he will definitely be back in the hunt for a fight with Mayweather.

Name someone at 147 that will give him a decent fight. Yall just want to see him in an unfair fight where he is out weighed by a large amount. Its not his fault that he is better than everybody at 147. He has already risen from 130 to 147. So what is the issue? He is a small Welter Weight. He is already out weighed by most of the people he fights.

GGG has never made 154, fought higher than he does now in the amateurs. If he could make 154 then how come he hasn’t done it yet? And Floyd has already stated he is not Jr Middle and that he is a Welter. He is gonna give up the championship at 154. So again you do realize that GGG is a 160lb fighter and Floyd is at 147 right.

If people buy this fight, they have only themselves to blame for the fights we really want to see not happening.

Posted February 25, 2014 10:58 am

In this fight between Mayweather vs Maidana the 3rd man in the ring will have a very important task in making this fight interesting. If the referee is Robert Byrd who tends to break the fighters apart right away, then Maidana’s chance will be pushed further down to zero. Maidana can’t touch Floyd from the distance. But if the referee is Steve Smoger who lets fighters work from the inside, this fight will be interesting.

Posted February 25, 2014 10:52 am

If Khan could work on his defence and footwork so that he can get in an out, in something like the way Pacquiao does, and protect his chin better, he could be a real threat to anyone at 140/147. I know these are big “ifs” , but if he can beat Broner and then a top 5-10 welterweight, and manage to stay on his feet, he will have well and truly earnt a shot at Mayweather, and Mayweather-Khan would start to look like a really intriguing match-up.

The sad irony, however, is that if Khan *did* manage to do all that, he *would* be a real threat to Mayweather, so the latter would surely find a way to duck him!

Anyway, I hope Khan-Broner happens, but as with just about every other fight real boxing fans really want to see, I doubt it will.

I suppose at least we have Froch-Groves to look forward to. I can’t think of any other really good fights to look forward to in the near future, sadly.

Trinidad started at 147 and moved up to fight Hopkins. That is only 13 pounds. Floyd started at 130 and moved up and fought 3 fighters at 154. I believe he has already done what Tito did. GGG has already stated he wants to clean out 160. Not to mention he fights for HBO. That is why GGGs team said Lara is not an option so it is obvious that Floyd can’t be an option neither.

Greatest Promoter of All Times.

I am waiting for a call back from Amir, disappointed as he is he did not get his lottery winning ticket vs Mr. Mayweather, if only he would stop and think. The mega, mega match-up for Khan is versus a certain Mr. Manny Pacquiao. Before you all scoff, just think. Two Asian guys who will unite the billions and billions of Asians all across the world to face off against each other and smash PPV records. Just think, two former sparring partners, both as quick as lightning. I have it on verified information that Amir DID INDEED get the better of Manny on several of their sparring sessions and Manny admitted he found it difficult to see the punches of Khan because they were a blistering blur. Amir is actually not only the quicker puncher, but he lands the more volume in his flurries and he has the footspeed to get out of range just as quickly. No one is quicker over the first three rounds and like Maidana will attest he will hit that midsection of Pacquiao and test him downstairs early like none of his last 30 or so opponents have tried. When was the last time Pacman fought against an opponent who had any speed? Not for over a decade.
After that snub, Amir is a wounded man, so he is a dangerous man and he is now wondering just why Freddie pulled him off so many times when he was on top of Pacin the gym?
I am the greatest promoter of all times and 2014 will be my year and people will b talking about Khan vs Pac in 2014, the Fight of the Year and the PPV of the Year and the Comeback of the Year. I think even Cousin Ahmed will agree with that.

Exactly. I actually think it’s a risky fight for both fighters, though. If Khan ever wants to be taken seriously as a contender at 147, he’ll have to take some risks, and Broner is not a dangerous welterweight, so I can imagine he’d take the fight.

However, as I said below, I expect Broner will just want to “look good” in this fight, and it’s hard to see how he’d do that against Khan’s speed and output. He might be able to take him out early, but he’d get little credit for that: just more confirmation that Khan can’t take a shot. And if he doesn’t take him out, Khan would outwork him and win on points. Indeed, given that Maidana put him down twice, it’s not inconceivable that Khan could put him down.

So that’s the reason I don’t think it will take place, but I hope it does, because it’s a far more intriguing match-up that Mayweather-Maidana. Who wants to see Maidana walking forward, lunging and missing while getting picked off with right-hand leads all night? Not me.

As for Mayweather, he’d going to retire a very rich man, best known for ducking Manny Pacquiao and never taking any risks.

Does anyone know who Broner is going to fight on the undercard? Is Khan in the mix for that?

Personally I’d rather see Khan-Broner than Mayweather-Maidana. The outcome of the latter is fight we already know (Floyd by wide UD), but I’m not sure who’d win between Broner and Khan.

If Khan is serious about fighting Floyd in the future, he needs to start fighting at Welterweight, and beating Broner would be a very good start. Unless Khan gets sparked out early (and Broner doesn’t carry much power at 147), I think it’s potentially a really interesting match-up. However, I suspect Broner will be concerned mainly with “looking good” on this undercard, so I imagine he’ll end up fighting someone he knows he can beat, and it’s by no means a foregone conclusion that he’d beat Khan.

drx: You ask,”Why did Mayweather put out a poll for the fans to vote for when he chooses the guy that lost the poll??” I guess the key point is what Mayweather meant by “fans” in that context. I reckon he either meant his own fans or boxing fans in general; I DON’T think he meant Amir Khan’s Twitter followers (many of whom are into Amir as a celebrity anyway rather than a sportsman). So as Maidana won the vote handily in the polls that Khan didn’t specifically beg his followers to vote in, and indeed was leading comfortably in the one poll Khan DID eventually win before said begging commenced, it seems fair to conclude Floyd HAS gone with fan opinion – by any resonable definition of “fan”.

Posted February 25, 2014 9:09 am

srminimo

Ok people, saying that Floyd avoided Khan because he was a threat is crazy talk. Showtime tried to build him up for the fight by having him at May’s last weigh-in and as a commentator, but fan response was overwhelmingly negative for the fight. He might indeed be in line for a fight in the future, the seed is planted and the drama has been created. Now he has to do his part: fight somebody good and not get KOd.

another sparring session for Mayweather. We have to face facts boxing fans, there is nobody out there to fight Mayweather. not even Pacquiao in my opinion. Thurman, Garcia, and Broner come to mind but those fights are not going to happen so we are left with this. Nothing against the other fighters but they are not at that level. Thurman vs Broner on the under card would be fun to watch.

@Auzbox – “Not yet, re broner but could be khan”

That’s actually a pretty good idea for a matchup. I’m really not sure who I’d pick to win it, either. Khan has the handspeed and output to show the holes in Broner’s defence, and yet Broner has the power to put Khan on wobbly street.
Would be a pretty good consolation prize for Khan, and a good “comeback level” fight for Broner.

Maidana earned the fight. Khan never even tried to earn it. This news is justice for boxing. It was absurd that Khan’s name was even in the discussion to begin with. Khan was just looking for a retirement pay day. Now Khan is in a very bad place, because if he fights any of the top ten welterweights, he’ll get beat. We saw in the Diaz fight that Khan is finished at top level. How angry Khan must be that he couldn’t talk his way into one last big pay day. This is a great day for the sport. The deserving man has got the shot, the undeserving, arrogant and deluded fighter was left out in the cold, rightly so. Expect Khan to offer Lamont Peterson a fight at 147lbs, forcing Peterson to come up in weight (to give Khan the advantage) in Bolton or Sheffield, again to give Khan an advantage, and then assuming Khan edges past Peterson, expect Khan to do exactly what he just did, i.e. he’ll duck any other challenge and remain inactive whilst trying, yet again, to talk his way into a Floyd fight in 2015. Except the moment has gone, Amir. The game is up.

Both guys have earned that right by whoopn ass. Floyd fighting Madaina might not b a bad thing 4 khan he has a chance now 2 prove 2 the boxing public he deserves such big fights….Alexander, Broner, rematch Garcia etc etc. Khan needs 2 stop being a cry baby….b4 leaving 2 go with GBP I remember him saying he use 2 whoop Manny in sparring & Freddie should b concentrating more on him than Manny? …, “Maidana has a good jaw and feather fisted Floyd will not harm him.”

Broner almost had Maidana out. His corner was worried between the 11th and 12th. Broner doesn’t have a jab. Broner doesn’t have a straight right. Broner doesn’t have a defense.

Floyd has all the weapons to knock Maidana out cold, and he will — but Maidan has a punch that will bother Floyd early.

It’s the arching right hander that Maidana cuts sharply down.. It’s deceptive.. It’s works great on the shoulder roll.. It’s fabulous on the shoulder roll because it catches you on the top of the head and rips all the way down the side of your head.

The punch that Sergio Martinez KO’d Paul Williams with is the left handed version of the punch — and unfortunately Maidana doesn’t throw it that well or as hard but it’s a pretty dangerous punch — because if you have your arms crossed when it lands the left hook can kill you.. Marcos hit Broner with tons of those looping rights and left hooks.

Floyd is not Broner — but he does use the shoulder roll. So this is what works against that defense.. But Floyd changes up his defensive looks … and doesn’t have his thumb up his ass like Broner.

Of course Pacman and Golovkin are not included in the poll, because… well you know why. The fans choose Kahn because he whupped up on Maidana. Floyd, then inexcusably chooses Maidana. If anything proves that Mayweather is the ultimate chicken and cherry picker, it is his ducking the glass chinned Kahn to fight the guy Kahn defeated, even after his own fans pleaded with him in his own poll “Floyd, please don’t embarrass us, if you won’t face Pacman or Golovkin, at least fight the guy that beat Maidana. Floyd opted for Maidana so that he use not fighting Khan to set up a fight between them down the road. He’s killing two birds with one stone. He knows that nobody wants to see him fight either of these substandard opponents but by doing it this way it gives him an angle to fight both. He doesn’t want any part of the opponents the fans really yearn to see him in there with. Fighting legitimate prime threats is just not his thing. People want to see him in there with Pacman, even the shot version of today, and Lara, Golovkin, you know opponents that actually pose him a real risk. Truly dangerous opponents.

Good choice for Mayweather; Maidana has gotten better offensively with his power bomb punches still very much intact! Khan whined like a baby and had become disrespectful……not something that would endear him to be considered for a bout that was already up in the air. Khan can simply prove himself by taking on Alexander & possibly Broner for a potential shot at the KING! Nevertheless, Maidana IS the better choice, since he’s so aggressive, he DID beat up the prototype Broner – soundly, and he has a coveted belt! Now he has to deal with the original…..a 37yr old original that is not the same as when he took on the likes of Diego Coralles & even Hatton. It should be interesting how Mayweather deals with the bulldozing style and crazy determination of this cool dude that is Maidana!

Maidana is a humble man who respects everybody, outside the ring that is. Inside the ring he respects nobody and throws punches with bad intentions. Floyd will be the favourite but Marcos is a live underdog and for him to be successful he must improve his head movement and his hand and foot speed in addition to a good game plan, this is a big ask but if he can do it he will have a great chance.

Floyd just pick the more sellable fight! But don’t get mistaken Khan and Maidana are both bum fighters cause Floyd will demand things in his favor to win the fight! Gloves, referee, random testing you name it Floyd got it cover to win this fight.

It is good, althought Im not totally agree with this fight Im glad Floyd didnt give Tomato Khan a BIG payday, he had to pay for calling him “chicken” some time ago before he and Phonyao were exposed, when everybody (except me and some more) thought they were the big deal, Maidana deserves the fight A LOT more than this s+it talker

Who cares

Maidana is far more deserving of the Mayweather than Khan….plus it’s a unification fight. IMO, the fight has more intrigue to American boxing fans becuase of the way Maidana handled Broner.
