Not sure if he was ever fighter of the year and also you have to be retired for 5 years I think before they can vote you in. But Haye will not be in the HOF ever

Is Paulie Ayala in the HOF? He won fighter of the year

Posted February 27, 2014 12:42 pm

PEEJ

He got fighter of the year for beating Jones Jr and Tarver. Jones was no longer the fighter he was. If so he would of easily beat Jonson. Tarver is garbage.

HOF worthy, I think it is close but he may just miss it. Only because he had so many lousy decisions go against him which stopped any momentum he had to getting the titlest in with him or the champs. But in no way am I hating on Glen. All Pro fighters should take notes from him as someone said before.

Hmmmmm good question. That I have seen, Whittaker, Floyd, Rigo, can’t remember the little Puerto Rican dude that has now retired, heck maybe Hopkins. I wanted to put Roy Jones on there but he was just quick to move out of the way though he was great on the ropes or in the corner. I may have to think about that a little more but off the top of my head. Spadafora was dang good too in his prime.

Does Glen make the HOF ?

What I and many boxing fans like is a boxing warrior who fights any opponent there is infron of him and that is why the former 2-time world light heavyweight champion Glen “The Road Warrior” Johnson even at age 44 is a true boxer with tons of heart and courage to fight any man. Johnson have also always been a humble and great sportsman with no excuses to his losses or trash-talks to his opponents. So many good fights he have been part of on his record is amazing.

Floyd Mayweather Jr should have learned from this man what a real boxer and boxing is all about. In fact lots of today’s young boxers could learn from Glen Johnson. Johnson have fought some of the very best in his career and still he is like a hard piece of iron.

He also has a very good beard. Keeping your hands up in your face yeah is good defense but only takes some of the impact from the blows away. He still takes punishment. It would be one thing if he actually moved out of the way of punches but that is not the case. Yes good defense as in blocking punches but he still feels those punches. He is too old now. Can’t really pull the trigger quick enough like he used to be able to

Peej, Glenn has very good defence. How many times has he been stopped?

There is no comeback. He will be able to beat these bums but once he gets to a B level fighter he is gonna struggle. He is just too old and his style does not allow longevity.

Geez only two comments on this story on a true ring warrior but hundreds on posts featuring the likes of Mayweather, Kahn, Chavez Jr., Canelo…what is wrong with today’s boxing fans?

“I wasn`t please with my performance because my timing was off and I wasn`t as sharp as I wanted because I didn`t have any sparring for this bout; however, I demonstrated good defense and power and more importantly I obtained the victory,” said Johnson.” Why aren’t there more Glen Johnsons and fewer Amir Khans and Julio Cesar Chavez Jrs. in the prize fighting world?
