The right choice to make Floyd look good against bum opposition. Maidana is a dumbed down version of Canelo. Three notches below Canelo on defense, offense, and overall boxing skill. So this is a dumb fight not worth a penny. Totally worthless!

Goat is ali so I’m not sure why you keep referring to him. It’s simple broner won his before floyd. And as for fights vasyl will beat floyd to. As for compubox floyd only is the best defense he is not the best offence

And Boxing can’t be compared to baseball. Runs scored are FACT. Rounds WON are OPINION. SO all of those close WINS by Pacquiao may be a matter of POOR OPINIONS. Knockouts are not an OPINION. Knockouts are a FACT. SO the FACT is the Marquez owns the only UNMISTAKABLE WIN in the series.

Floyd became a CHAMP as after 24 yrs out the WOUND and Lomachenko needs 26 which is GREAT but still LESSER than the GOAT.

Posted February 28, 2014 5:25 pm

Age means ALOT when it comes to being a PRODIGY or not. Especially when you remain on Top for 13 years after your ANNOINTMENT. What happened to Broner is no factor in what Floyd IS. Maidana is about to agree with ME on that. Due to Lomachenko starting SLOW he now has to stay on Top until he’s 39 to match Floyd. I DOUBT if he can DO that. Floyd makes it LOOK easier than it IS….Manny Pacquiao immediately agreed with ME on that after Pacquiao-Marquez IV…..after he woke UP.

Peej, Anonymous, Marquez 4, Boxtradamus are sexual worshipers of Floyd. They see Floyd’s ass as sexual pleasure point. So it’s natural for them to say all praises for their object of lust. Disgusting

I hoping everyone gets to see the trailer for the epic documentary called “MANNY.” I watched earlier it today. This transcends all sports. Go to the Manny Pacquiao web sit and you can see for yourselves the excitement this movie is spreading throughout the world. This documentary is a must see for all boxing/sports fans in general. There is no other current or past fighter that can compare to this living legend’s life story. Some of the footage is unbelievable. You’ll see a young kid fighting grown men with much more experience, and stopping them with the power of thunder. You will clearly see that Manny was a born puncher with power. This will put to rest all of these desperate accusations of Manny using any type of Peds. The man has always been blessed with incredible power even as a young 15 year old. This is a powerful story of a blessed man that was chosen to do something special in life. A natural born fighter that crawled out of the gutter to become the greatest pure fighter of all time. The only 8 time division boxing champion in the history of boxing. There is no reason to dislike this man. No reason to accuse or insult this incredible human being. This documentary will simply make you appreciate your own life, and marvel at the obstacles and challenges Manny Pacquiao miraculously overcame. This is a triumphant story of a man that beat bigger odds than winning lottery. An incredible and unbelievable life of man that today is one of the world’s most influential people. A man that makes changes to help those that have no voices to be heard. A man chosen by God to make a change in this world. Manny is the best!

Can you count boxtra, if your American. In the World Series if one team wins three games 20 nil but loose four games 1 nil, the winner is still the team that scored 4 runs to 60. So don’t go on with your crap. If you can count the score reads 2-1-1 and Marquez will get a chance to even the score hopefully in November.

Who is the only boxer in the history of the sport to be associated with PED expert S&C coaches for 14 years straight?

Big news today: Nevada State Athletic Commission banned testosterone-replacement therapy (TRT) from combat sports on Thursday. The ruling, which passed by a unanimous vote, eliminates future applications for a therapeutic use exemption for TRT. — This means roids ragers like Lamont PEDerson can no longer use that BS excuse for juicing up.

Funny how PEDquiao was afraid of needles against Mayweather, Marquez and now Bradley.

But he wasn’t afraid of needles against lightweight bum Brandon Rios, who was coming off a loss, whose style was perfectly suited for PEDquiao and after taking a whole year off.

PEDquiaos’ name will always be associated with PEDs.

I feel so sorry for Floydiots because their coward idol Floyd asked them to pick his next opponent and they picked Amir Khan (76%), but Floyd rejected his followers’ wishes by declining the fight with Khan because Khan is too fast. Floyd then, without notice to Floydiots, picked another slow, flat-footed boxer, Maidana.

If Pacquiao fights Maidana, Maidana won’t last 6 rounds. As slow as Maidana with a coming-forward style like Maidana, Pacquiao would kill him like Pacquiao did to Ricky Hatton.

And if he had chosen Khan over Maidana people would have said that he chose the easier opponent.

Most overall I would say would have preferred him to face someone else.

Khan is fast and agile, can box a bit, but he is conventional in his style and attack, lacks the ability of patience, tends to get sloppy, doesn’t have the best chin, and doesn’t have a high I.Q. as far as adapting to his opponents strengths and weakness. He is still good but he doesn’t have the ability to beat Floyd at this point. Actually, if Khan can avoid being taken down again, with time, Floyd will be prone to losing since time is not on his side.

What do we think about Khan being fed the feather fisted celebrity journeyman Paulie Malignaggi? Khan will look for the softest option out there, but I don’t think that’s a high enough standard. Paulie has no belt and was already beaten by Khan in 2011. What do you guys think?

Correction – Khan has been TALKING for the last 2 years without SHOWING why he deserves a shot.

Posted February 27, 2014 12:00 pm

Mayweather fighting the Pacman/Bradley winner in September…get it out of your head right now. As long as both of them are signed to Top Rank, it will NEVER happen. Mayweather v. DLH—after DLH left Top Rank. Mayweather v. Cotto—after Cotto left Top Rank. Mayweather v. JMM—before JMM signed with Top Rank. Mayweather v. Margarito NOT happening—conditional that Mayweather resign with Top Rank. Mayweather left Arum back 2004 and promised he would never put another dime in Arum’s pockets and he has held true to that…not one Top Rank fighter on his resume in the last 10 years. Look for Mayweather v. Pacman talks to start up next year, given that Pacman wises up and leaves Arum when his contract is up. As for Maidana, regardless of the his chances, he has EARNED this fight unlike Khan who tried to TALK his way into a fight with Mayweather. Khan has been TALKING for the last 2 years with SHOWING why he deserves a shot. Mayweather may make this win look easy, but it would be due to his skill and defense, NOT because Maidana an easy opponent.

Anonymous- With a comment like that I see why you would want to remain “anonymous”. Look, Maidana YES improved with Robert Garcia but if your implying that it will give Maidana the superpowers to beat Mayweather then Id have to go with “I disagree”. Maidana was about, lets say a 7 when he fought Khan(7) and Alexander(8). Now he is an 8 and Mayweather is more like a 10 so to speak.. So its not that hard to see that Mayweather clearly has all the advantages over any of the 3 (Khan, Maidana and Alexander) that I mentioned previously.

Imagine if you will a Tsun@mi, but rather than being made of water, it is comprised of pure Ande@n Cond0r mixed with l@shings of Clint E@stwood circa 1964, Fistful of Doll@rs er@.

Now imagine that Tsun@mi g@thering it`s force up on Tier one, which I can tell you extends upwards of 22,000 feet, and is a place where ordin@ry humans would require Oxygen m@sks, so as I say imagine it g@thering it`s force, growing and growing, lightening flicker!ng, the smell of ozone in the air and word-pairings, and syll@bals clash together.
Then there is a creak as the Golden doors of tier one are pulled open by Tera P@trick and Scarlett Joh@nnson wearing nothing but smiles, and a hungry look for e@ch other.

You have a moments silence where you have the ins@ne hope that nothing will happen.

But then, suddenly there it is.

A million cubic tons of Vulture E@stwood Dragonborn fury pouring from the sky, slicing it`s way towards your very soul.

At the tip of this Tsnum@i you`ll see a sneer!ng pair of lips form, which as they grow closer draw back to reveal a set of kn@shers intent on dam@ge.

Realising your error you back away, head twisting, seek!ng an esc@pe.

You tr!p and fall onto your back and cover your eyes.

But this can do nothing to stop the be@st you have unleashed from settling it`s jaws upon your most pr!zed possess!ons and r!pping them out root and stem with a crunching twist.

That my friend is Gonzo.

If you feel this is an ex@ggeration then b@re this in mind. Do you know Keyzer Soze? Of course you do, everyone has heard of him. What most people do not know however is that Keyzer once borrowed Gonzo’s Ferr@ri 250 GT, and returned it without filling the t@nk.

This is why Gonzo now possesses a mousem@t made from Keyzers scr-0-tum.

Besides, Mitchell, who was a test dummy at WW (as Floyd was always small enough to stay at Jr. WW but he wanted the bigger fights and bigger paydays). You can also strike out Brusells (first 2005 bout) who was supposed to be showing how Cotto would do against Floyd back then (but Cotto’s people didn’t want the fight… even though they were ringside and putting on airs)

Posted February 26, 2014 5:44 pm

Q

Boxtradamus: Technically, from 2005 to now, every one of his opponents were title holders (he didn’t fight for SSM’s title, and JMM didn’t own a title at the weight, but was a title holder and P4Per.. Mosley was a P4Per when they fought also). Arturo Gatti (was the champion), Judah, Baldomir, Oscar, Hatton, Marquez, Mosley, Ortiz, Cotto, Guerrero, and Álvarez. Many of those guys were top 10 P4P ranked, multiple division champions and such. And Maidana will be the 12th champion or P4P top 10er in his last 13 fights…. from 140-154 mind you. It’s truly spectacular.

3. Has anyone got information on which funeral home will sponsor the fight ??

4. Is it true that instead of an under-card fan’s will participate in a game of bingo ??

The top news of the day is about Manny Pacquiao. The long awaited Movie “MANNY” narrated by the great actor Liam Neeson is set to open in the Philippines on March 12th. I suggest everyone that comments on the ESB site view this inspirational documentary about the ONLY 8 division Boxing Champion in history. I truly believe this will be nominated for Documentary of the year. Manny Pacquiao is a living legend that astounded the sports world when he came on the scene. Today, he is widely considered the greatest fighter of all time. This highly anticipated documentary should be sensational and will open the eyes of those that have never taken the time to learn about this prize fighting warrior. Congratulations to Manny Pacquiao for adding another successful step in his already impressive life and career.

That said, Pac should leave Arum just like Floyd and Oscar did.

Arum is good at building up fighters, making them a name, making them money, but relationships tend to come to an end when one partner still thinks he deserves to much of the pie.

Oscar De La Hoya left Bob Arum, my son left Bob Arum. These were the biggest fighters in the world at the time they left Bob Arum, and they are some of the biggest fighters still today,” Floyd Sr. said when asked about giving advice to Pacquiao.

“I think if Pacquiao had any sense, I think he would jump on the same wagon and get rolling,” he added.

Pacquiao is the top fighter of Arum’s Top Rank Promotions, and this has long been a contentious issue that has blocked a potential mega-fight with Mayweather Jr.

Floyd Sr. said it would serve Pacquiao well to sever all ties with Arum and instead accept a fight with his son, on the condition that it will be Floyd Jr. who will be setting all the terms of the fight.

“Floyd is calling the shots, it’s simple,” the trainer said. “That way right there, everything will be taken care of.”

“With Little Floyd being the king of everything, Pacquiao is gonna take that test, and then Pacquiao is gonna have to settle for what Floyd wants him to have, simple,” he added.

Haters are going to hate. Manny has a lot to prove aside the fact the got KTFO by Marquez the last credible fighter he beat was Cotto weight drained in 09. He lost 2 out of his last 3 fights and he never dominated Bradley. No one is scared of Manny he is under a slave contract with Arum and no one will deal with him. Why would Floyd bow to a Jew when he makes 150-200 million a year without him? They cannot stand a black man with that much power. Floyd runs boxing all road lead to him. And trust Manny will never submit to random blood test. He will KO Bradley this time because the fcker will be juiced to the gills. As we speak they are putting stipulations on the blood testing I am confused the whole purpose of random testing is so that you cant hide anything and prove yourself clean. How the hell can I fcker dictate the terms of a test? He says drawing blood will effect his performance and you ass clowns believed it Manny is some peoples God.

Purple Haze

Someone needs to explain to me why Pac is still with Arum if he feels he is on the level of Floyd popularity wise since Floyd makes a lot more money than he does for his shows and that is down to not only the guaranteed money/PPV/Venue, but he keeps the overhead and writes out the checks to those that work for him. Pac should be doing that.

Posted February 26, 2014 2:16 pm

Purple Haze

They should meet but they won’t because Pac is still with Arum unless Arum moves out of the way. If Pac beats Bradley and Pac shoves Arum aside, I think it can happen since its a Big Win for Pac and the best selling fight out there for Floyd would be Pac.

Drug testing would obviously be on the table which Manny would agree to.

And the percentage, well, I’m not sure how that works. Opening up the books is the best way.

Posted February 26, 2014 2:06 pm

Purple Haze

Benedict the Benificent

Floyd isn’t “mostly to blame.” Both Pac and Floyd are on equal ground for blame given all the %#$#$ negotiation tactics by both sides.

One thing was known from the start, Floyd won’t do business with Arum because Arum ripped him off before and prevented him from becoming a bigger start earlier…if you go by what seems to be Floyd’s reasoning. Once Floyd took control of his own career, he took off in Popularity and Financially.
It’s why he tried to buy out Pac for 40 million; to keep Arum’s hands off the promotional money which he doesn’t deserve because the fight sells itself. And Manny should know that but somehow he doesn’t.

Two: Drug testing, when presented, should have never been negotiated by Pac. Just take it. Others have, so why not. Especially since when you pass the test, well, if you pass the tests, you can shove them back in Floyd’s face. And Floyd was taking the same tests so its on equal ground.

For Floyd, nobody can say he wasn’t somewhat reluctant to face Pac. After all, he threw in the drug testing because he saw something that worried him.

So obviously, I was for the additional drug testing, pushing Arum out of the picture, and the fight should have been made. I’m not saying the 40 million was or wasn’t fair, I don’t know, they could have left that up to an independent to come in and review the books. Of course, Manny may have found out that Arum was ripping him off so of course that wasn’t going to happen.

Now that he settled on the fighter that everybody said he wouldn’t fight he is now ducking Khan, someone who has yet to fight at 147 but yet yall still say he is ducking Khan. Ridiculous. And what is even more amazing is that yall still say he will lose but he would have success at the beginning. Yall actually think winning 2 rounds on Floyd is success. lol

Do I think Khan earned a shot, NO. Has Maidana earned this more, YES. That being said though, Kahn was the better option, at least he would have given Floyd some trouble early on due to his speed. Dont think he would have won, Mayweather would have caught up with him around 6th onwards for a mid to late stoppage.

Cant help but feel Khan was the better option for the fans!

Both Pac and May should be criticized for not making the fight happen and its a big strike against there legacy.

Both had big Egos, both made excuses, both should not be talked about with the likes of some others who did make big fights happen when they should have happened.

Both also can be noted for avoiding certain fighters through the waiting game or simply just avoidance.

Both are overrated by their fans.

Both calculated their careers.

Constantine the Czar

My friends, Floyd* Mayweather is not a legendary fighter who will leave warm memories. Manny Pacquiao is a legendary fighter who will. SHOWCASING his extraordinary talent ALL OVER THE GLOBE, Manny fights from Las Vegas in the US to Macao in China, from South Africa to his Filipino homeland, from sea to shining sea. Manny is A TRULY INTERNATIONAL CELEBRITY and BOXING SUPERSTAR, coming out on top in all his major rivalries against FELLOW ALL TIME GREATS Barrera, Morales and Marquez, winning WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS in EIGHT divisions, awarded numerous Ring Magazine Fighter of the Year distinctions and being voted FIGHTER OF THE DECADE by his peers and esteemed journalists. Everyone in the fight game bows down before the greatness of Manny Pacquiao, for he is a Colossus of the sport, like a young God from Mount Olympus, another Thor, a Superman, Spiderman, Batman, Captain America and Captain Marvel rolled into one, not to mention Iron Man of course. My friends, Emmanuel Pacquiao or ‘Manny’ as he is known, Manny Pacquiao is a larger-than-life personality who rose from grinding poverty to become boxing’s Number One Global Attraction and Number One Superstar, who steps OUTSIDE his comfort zone to travel the WORLD, unlike that Floyd Mayweather character. Manny is like Ali in that respect, a globe-trotting MAN OF THE PEOPLE. My friends and accquaintances, Manny is reminiscent of a speeding supersonic comet, a blazing meteor, a shining glistening shooting star, a supernova even, a dazzling dancing destructive destroyer, a fearless ferocious Filipino phenomenon, a peerless maestro, a punching pugulistic punisher of opponents, a tornado of tremendous terror tormenting his terrified and hapless foes, a superhuman specimen who overwhelms by sheer force of nature, a hurricane of hurt, a storm of Shock And Awe, a whirlwind who leaves the broken egos of his defeated rivals lying in his wake. There is NO ONE in the game today who can match Manny Pacquiao’s achievements as an 8 WEIGHT DIVISION WORLD CHAMPION: in fact, there is no one who can compare to the incomparible Manny Pacquiao and his legendary status in the sport. His legacy is beyond dispute as AN ALLTIME GREAT WARRIOR whose fights will live forever in the minds of those who have witnessed them. Manny, yes, Manny, is the best, bar none.

This fight will be free in the UK and Ireland and I can assure you I won’t be tuning it for another non-event like the canelo fight. Khan at least would like bring something new to the table, i gave him zero chance of winning but at least there would have been a few interesting moments with his handspeed.

Floyd will avoid Manny until the end of his career. He’ll regret it in years to come, when people come up to him and say ‘hey Floyd, you were a great fighter, but you ducked Manny Pacquao!’.

Let’s face it, for people who like to see a somewhat competitive fight or see Mayweather a little bit challenged this fight just doesn’t come into those categories. Maidana is someone to route for but beating Broner, losing to Alexander and beating Lopez and Soto-Karass means he has not beat anyone highly rated at Welterweight to face the current p4p rated no.1. This is a forgone conclusion of a fight whereby there are a lot better challengers.

Teflon I don’t think that GGG and floyd will fight but, manny isn’t a true welter and could fight at 135. He fights up against bigger guys, he has rarely fought a smaller. So yes floyd could fight GGG and would go close to winning. But not certain it should happen

NO, hes not the right choice, his slow crude style is made for Mayweather, thats why he picked Maidana, even a retard knows that! Mayweather doesnt want a guy with speed, movement and power – hence no Pacman, no Khan, the guy is a yellowbelly and all smoke and mirrors!

Fight Aficionado avoiding a middleweight? You moron GGG is a 160lbs who hasn’t fought nobody but cab drivers. I guess next Floyd should fight Klitscko. GGG is way to big when Floyd fought at 154lbs he cannot even make the weight he is best at 147lbs. No way he would be crazy enough to venture that far up,. Floyd cannot even make 154lbs he always comes in under at about 150lbs.

Posted February 26, 2014 3:35 am

Fight Aficionado

“Floyd is avoiding GGG. He campaigns 2 weight divisions above him at a stage where Floyd has moved up to the maximum weight his body will ever be comfortable fighting at.” – Simple. Floyd has two belts at 154 and GGG offered to fight at 154. Nobody’s asking Floyd to switch weight divisions.

Posted February 26, 2014 3:17 am

Fight Aficionado

Yes between Maidana and Khan the right choice is Maidana. But the fact is those two should not have been the only choices in Floyd’s idiotic poll. Pacquiao is the right choice at 147. If Floyd’s going at 154 then the right choices are abundant: Lara, GGG or Martinez. None of them were included because they’re all fights Floyd could lose.

Posted February 26, 2014 3:16 am

Dan

I really don’t understand why people continue to say that Floyd is avoiding GGG. He campaigns 2 weight divisions above him at a stage where Floyd has moved up to the maximum weight his body will ever be comfortable fighting at. He just doesn’t have the frame to carry the extra 13 pounds in weight. And who is it exactly that he is avoiding? A guy whose best win is Matthew Macklin? I’m not a huge mayweather fan but this is ridiculous! If GGG really wants the fight then he should drop to 154, beat some decent fighters and get in line. Not beat up bum’s at 160 (Adama’s last 2 opponents before GGG had about 38 losses between them, but no flack for his choice of opponent!).

EL Chino will need to catch Floyd early with power shots because after round 5 Floyd will have him figured out and will barely get touched, But in saying that this is boxing, and all of the ATG’s have been caught at one point and lost, Robinson, Ali, Duran, Leonard, Hearns, Tyson, Holyfield, Foreman, Delahoya,Sweet Pea, Tszyu ect……

El Chino is a real life Rocky Balboa, he goes about his business with absolutely no pretentiousness, he’s a true gentleman outside of the ring and has proven time and again that he can handle all the adversity you can throw at a man and still comes out swinging. And that’s why this fight is interesting: His victory over Broner was the most satisfying upset in a looooong time and beating May would be perhaps the biggest upset in the history of boxing, but I will tune in because I genuinely like the guy, he delivers drama and, even though its very hard to find a scenario where Rocky beats Apollo in real life, I know he’ll make it interesting.

I say let GGG move his butt down to 147 if he want Floyd. GGG can come to Floyd town, the town of 147, or shut up and have a tall glass of baby GRAVEY.

if Golovkin can make 147lbs, he should issue the challenge even though challenging welterweights will hardly increase his prestige. otherwise, there are fighters Golovkin’s size that he can try on for size first, e.g., Andre Ward or some other genuine middleweight.

Maidana is the right choice just not the most intriguing. in either case, Mayweather remains undefeated. if the likes of Ortiz and Khan can drop Maidana it’s almost a certainty that Floyd be able too. even Josesito had Maidana in trouble for a spell in their slugfest but Maidana’s middle name is “Epic”. he’s risen from the canvas to salvage wins and even in losses has risen from the canvas and remained dangerous until the final bell but it won’t be anything that Mayweather won’t be able to handle.

Posted February 25, 2014 9:21 pm

Q

Meanwhile, Manny Paquiao fizzled quick. His lack of longevity speaks a bit about him as well. He didn’t beat not ONE person from 130-154 that Floyd didn’t or couldn’t, then he gets KTFO by JMM. Manny is also the catchweight king, etc etc. Sing your praises for Manny, but it’s FMJ > MP easily. Too bad many too so long to start HIMSELF DEMANDING blood test, what a joke. Anyway, I have my opinion based on facts, but some people don’t pay much attention to the facts. Canelo Vs. Angulo = fighting someone of a loss as someone off a loss. FMJ Vs. Maidana = fighting a guy going through the best stretch of his career and the best win of his career = typical mayweather.

“He cowardly continues to run. The quality Cuban Erislandy Lara. He doesn’t even think about. GGG, forget about it. In his earlier days,he ran from Kostya Tyzu, Shane Mosely, Oscar De La Hoya, Paul Williams and many others.” – I think you need to be checking the weight classes and years around these events. Lol. The sad thing is it seems reasonable enough to go along with if you don’t really know the facts. Kostya was campaigning at 130-135 when Kostya was a 140 pounder, and Floyd was coming up but Tszyu fought AND QUIT IN THE CORNER against Ricky Hatton. GGG is a 30 something year old middleweight, and Floyd is pushing it fightin 154 pounders. Canelo was the #1 at 154, not Lara… Canelo and Lara should be the ones fighting. Heck, I wouldn’t even blamed Floyd for not fighting champions at 154. Moving up in weight to fight a boxer isn’t the same as draining down to fight guys. And Floyd has moved up to fight the best multiple times, and guys with very notable size advantages… like Canelo for one. Shane was chasing ODH, and I think Floyd was just becoming a LW when they were fighting a JR. MW. (check the divisions and times). Floyd has been consistently fighting guys coming off their best performances and biggest wins, and Maidanna is no exception. But the good thing is that I write from a factual perspective, and you write with everything warped and dishonest, inaccurate, lol. So it holds no weight. There is so much wrong with your long post, but any investigation can defunct it, I’ll pass. I’ll leave it at what I’ve written, lol.

poor pacturds

Its funny how Manny beat Cotto, Oscar, Hatton, Shane and Marquez. But when Floyd beat all these same guys they were cherry picked. Also Floyd Handpicked Canelo. I never heard of anyone handpicking a undefeated fighter one of the most dangerous guys in boxing. Its also funny how Manny walked away from 40 million and the biggest fight of his life over a blood test. But Floyd is scared? Why would someone bother making terms for a fight he never intended on it happening? I guess he knew Manny would turn him down he read his mind lol. The same ass clowns accused Floyd of being Afraid of Margerito and the fool had plaster of Paris in his gloves and almost killed Cotto. Floyd is on top and Manny is not and all roads lead to Mayweather so he has to bow down accept the terms like everyone else and he will get his ass beat like everyone else simple….

Hatersbeware

@Hecdog- You wrote all of that to sing the tired old song about Pacman. Your argument has no value as the facts are all mixed and matched to try and make a point about a man who due to contractual obligation with another company cannot fight Maywether. No one is afraid of Pacman, people are afraid of a boxer who refused to accept PEDs testing while he is training in a 3rd world country where PEDs are readily accessable and legal to obtain and use. Look at the issue of PEDs testing whit his upcoming fight. If you agree that Pac is more than likely on some enhancing substance, I will agree that Maywether does not want to fight him, and that is what maywether said- why should he fight someone who has an unfair advantage. No one is ducking Manny- He is just another man like anyone else, and not the GOD you guys wish for him to be.

Horrible, ridiculous article trying to convince smart boxing fans that Maidana is the best option for Mayweather. Once again, Floyd has HUGE advantages in speed, boxing skills, agility, athleticism, experience, reflexes, talent, defense, ring generalship and every aspect of boxing. Alexander beat Maidana fairly easy, Khan beat Maidana and hit him with everything conceivable. And some other unknown guy back in 2009 gave Maidana a boxing lesson. Now, tell me how on earth Maidana has any kind of chance to win this fight. All this after Mr. Coward Mayweather puts out some DUMB pole for his fans, and the fans pick Khan, and still Mayweather makes fools of them all as he goes the opposite way that his fans voted for. Mayweather is making a mockery of this wonderful sport. He has DUCKED everyone that posed a challenge to him. He has obviously ran, hid and left the country just to avoid Manny Pacquiao. This fight will not go the distance, and it will be a replay of Mayweather vs Baldomir or worse, Larry Holmes vs Randall ‘Tex” Cobb. This will follow the massacre of Canelo vs Angulo. These are fights that will see one fighter destroying their limited one dimensional opponents. These fights are not competitive in the least. Once again, the 80′s and 90′s offered great competitive fights pitting the top contenders or champions fighting each other. Today, we have Floyd Mayweather as the model of ducking opposition, lying to his fans, and cherry picking those fights that present no challenge to him due to old age, catch weights, physically drained opponents, one dimensional or inexperience. Fans have been clamoring for Mayweather to fight Manny Pacquiao. He cowardly continues to run. The quality Cuban Erislandy Lara. He doesn’t even think about. GGG, forget about it. In his earlier days,he ran from Kostya Tyzu, Shane Mosely, Oscar De La Hoya, Paul Williams and many others. Floyd Mayweather made some good choices picking his management team. He has made a lot of money. He remains unbeaten in the record books even though he lost to Castillo and an old Oscar De La Hoya. He still is looked at as the DUCKER, DODGER, AVOIDER and most importantly, the man that is plain scared of fighting Manny Pacquiao. Floyd Mayweather will not another easy win to earn another padded victory over a tough, but very limited Marcos Maidana. And the only way these types of lower level fights will stop will be when fans stop buying these horrible PPV fights. The under card will undoubtedly be the Main Event. That’s how Haymon and company seem try to convince fans to pay ridiculous amounts of money for these PPV. Don’t buy this PPV if you’re smart. Floyd already had his laugh as he went the opposite way that his fans voted for. Don’t think for a second he won’t be laughing when you pay for next PPV.

Although Marcos Maidana is a courageous, game, and exciting fighter, Marcos Maidana probably will not challenge Floyd Mayweather in a meaningful manner. Floyd has already demonstrated the capacity to fight individuals who utilized the brawling, mauling style employed by Maidana. Additionally, Floyd is stronger than Maidana. One only need consider the manner in which Floyd manhandled Shane Mosley and Canelo Alvarez to get a sense of just how physically powerful he is. Hence, while Maidana has a “puncher’s chance,” the most likely outcome is Floyd by decision.

The most ridiculous aspect of the articles/blogs posted on Eastside Boxing are those by writers who are attempting to justify the decision by Floyd Mayweather to fight Marcos Maidana (or Canelo Alvarez or an overweight JMM or Ricky Hatton). There are multiple fighters who would provide Floyd Mayweather with a meaningful challenge, e.g., Manny Pacqiuao, Sergio Martinez, GGG, Erislandy Lara, certainly much more so than Marcos Maidana. If Floyd were to be candid about his selection, then he would say that Maidana fights in a manner that his custom made for Floyd Mayweather and that it’s probably going to be an easy money fight.

I will be candid and say that there is NO WAY that I will purchase this PPV monstrosity. It would be refreshing if the ES Boxing writers would be candid about the significance of this fight (very little), turn their backs on it, and not promote it. The only way that Floyd Mayweather will fight anyone who can provide a meaningful challenge is if no one watches these pathetic match-ups. By paying to watch this fight, and the other lame PPV match-ups that preceded it, Floyd Mayweather has proven that he does not need to fight elite level boxers in order to get paid. Que lastima.

As I’ve written, Floyd has done a TON from 130-154, and Golovkin hasn’t done much of anything at his one division, and he’s not getting any younger. Floyd isn’t a Middleweight, anything hypothetical win that a 160 175 pound fighter would do against FMJ is about as irrelevant as any completely trivial ridiculous child like imagined event. Floyd > Golovkin ..there is no comparison nor will there ever be. Golovkin would have to clean out 160 then move UP in weight and beat an Andre Ward. Highly unlikely, but that’s just my opinion. If Golovkin was to fight Ward, I’d pick Ward for sure.

This was the right choice Maidana is a lot more exciting than a mere glass jaw con. Plus Chico de Mayo will be huge in Vegas. GGG is way too big even if they met at 154lbs. Floyd always has troubles making the weight he is best 1t 147lbs. Plus GGG hasn’t fought anyone worth talking about. Floyd can show Broner how its done. Maidana is tough and is a hard puncher but class is in session. He will get school really easily and there morons will say he was handpicked….

Floyd made the right choice. Maidana just came off beating up a Floyd want to be. Mayweather has made poor choices in the past such as Guerrero and Ortiz this one is much better if nothing more than the challenger being worthy. Kahn never earned this fight or beat anyone of significance to garner a shot at the Pound for Pound King.

I agree. No way floyd fight triple g. However he doesn’t have to worry. Triple has plans to unify 160 and floyd has no intention of moving up to 160. If triple was goin to drop down to 160 he woulda been done it! He is already 31 going on 32. But if he did fight floyd at 154 i would pick triple g by late tko.

“run away from Golovkin Floyd” what a joke, lol. Golovkin has to worry about making a real career for himself at 160 (his division). Floyd never would have to fight any campaigning Middleweight, and nothing could every be reasonably said about it…. but we’d always be able to point out that GGG doesn’t have a sterling resume at the weight he campaigns at anyway. Anyway, ridiculous. Lol.

Chino is def the right choice. He is more deserving. He has beat top 10 guys at 147 and khan hasnt. Also floyd would have been highly criticized for cherrypicking khan. Chino is the wba champ. 34-3 w 31 k.o. He arguably was robbed in 2 out of 3 of those fights. He is a dangerous puncher and a real threat to floyd! No cherrypicked opponent in chino. So all in all a pretty weak year as far as opponents go for Mayweather, it’s a shame both fights will probably do decent numbers for them to justify choice of selection.
