It really WOULD be more interesting if the K’s had their titles taken away, like any other two #1 and #2s would, for not fighting each other. Then we wouldn’t have to make up titles for the likes of Povetkin. Every so often the Ks titles would be vacated, and there would be fights of TOP CONTENDERS to see who gets the belts, after which that guy would have to fight a K, and then the K’s would have their belts taken away…ad infinitum. There would be some great fights, instead of Wach and Charr each getting a title shot, they might have fought for Vitali’s vacated title, after which one of them would have fought him. Same for all of the K’s last 10-12 opponents.Posted October 9, 2012 7:35 pm
True Wlad beat Chambers and Chagaev but so did Povetkin. Yes, Wlad beat them easier, and that is because Wlad is better than Povetkin! But the fact remains: Wlad hasn’t beaten anyone as good as Povetkin. Tony Thompson never beat anyone really. Ibragimov? Same deal. None of those guys had the resume of Povetkin. Haye only won a few fights at heavyweight, but okay, maybe he’s the only one who is close in stature, but most of that is due to his mouth. Povetkin comes in undefeated. Like I said he will lose, but Wlad hasn’t beaten anyone better.Posted October 9, 2012 7:29 pm
Very true.Posted October 7, 2012 8:13 pm
swedish boxing fan………If you seriously think derek chisora hasnt got the balls to fight wlad then you dont know what your talking about. That is the most dumbest comment ive read on this site for the 5 years ive been on here. Some other names you mentioned are not avoiding him, get your facts right before sending rubbishPosted October 6, 2012 2:31 pm
If the K-bros were not related, everyone would be groaning about them not fighting each other. Pretty easy logic.Posted October 6, 2012 2:28 pm
Hats off to the Klits in any era. If these two were not in boxing everyone would be going on about how good the division is and how great the fights are. Its a combination of great size, great condition, great intelligence, great experience, great desire, and great common sense that makes them the best of any era. American yearns for the titles back, but all they can do is cry, whine, and pretend.Posted October 6, 2012 12:25 pm
@ huckster ???
So b/c 2 brothers are successful they should fight each other or have their titles taken away? Logic and fair play are not exactly operating in your world.
Vitali is 40+ and Wlad in his later 30s. Why can’t some of the younger HWs beat them? One will retire soon, and Wlad will follow. Then maybe your undies will no longer be in knots !Posted October 6, 2012 11:16 am
Gabreliyan called it correctly . Wlad
The number one contender is his brother or vis-a-versa. That is one of the problems if the not biggest problem with the HW division. Everyone calls out all these other clowns, but no one puts pressure on the brothers to fight each other. They sit on the belts. Belts should be taken away if they don’t show up in the ring to fight each other. Period.Posted October 6, 2012 8:33 am

knowall – well Wladimir Klitschko would fight “the best” opponents if they DARED fight him. ALl so calle “top men” avoids him. Alexander Povetkin, Odlianer Solis, Chris Arreola, Tomasz Adamek, Valuev, Dereck Chisora, Robert Helenius and Tyson Fury are all opponents who could or can fight Wladimir but non of them haves the courage or “balls” to go up in the ring and fight them and all these men are top ranked by the organisations Wladimir holds a belt for so Ring Magazine, WBA, IBF, WBO and IBO so the wide field is there and Wladimir can and want to face all these contenders but they avoids the cahmp. So any one who says that Wladimir Klitschko dont fight the best becouse he just dont do that, well you people are ALL WRONG!!! Wladimir’s policy is to be the best champ possible and fight all the best avaible in the ranks who accepts fighting him for his world heavyweight crown.Posted October 6, 2012 8:03 am
Wladimir is the second best heavy in the solar system and as soon as his brother retires he will be the best of the best. Anybody with another opinion would be called delusional or they have an agenda.Posted October 6, 2012 5:26 am
Wlad hasn’t beaten 50 Povetkins…who has he beat that’s as good as Povetkin? Make no mistake, he will beat Povetkin, but it will be the biggest win of his career.Posted October 6, 2012 12:54 am
when some ‘commer’ ..say solaris..passed off as a world class contender via Cuba
..or something….is so fkn fat…he throws his knee out by tryin to reverse his direction ….and is out of it because of his groos weight…and lack of prepardness….
You know that Fights are getting lower calibre
I watched an interview with George Chuvalo….72 yrs old……and he observed that the biggest difference from his time to now…..”…Is that there are nowhere near as many fighters around today…as when George Chuvalo was feeding his family as a contender. ‘THERE JUST AREN”T AS MANY FIGHTERS IN THE GAME …..AS WHEN I WAS THERE…!!!…….
tell me I’m lie’nPosted October 5, 2012 8:54 pm
at least the Klitschko brothers give any and every true contender a shot at immortality…..and so far…they have come up short…..As old as they are..the Klitschko boys are fit….tight and trim…and can beat any and every fkr from either side of the valleyPosted October 5, 2012 8:53 pm
again….the Champion must fight the number one…available contender of the day.
When these guys’ legal works get into action….calls get made all the time….for ‘contenders’ to take their best shot. If these ‘top fighters’ have other commitments(read stupid managers)..they are by passed..and the next on the list gets the Rocky Balboa shot of his lifePosted October 5, 2012 8:51 pm
Only news …when it comes to HW Championship fights…are with one of the Klitschko lads involved.
THese boys have taken their talent and brains…..taken purses of milions of dollars and parlayed them into hundreds of millions.
The machine that has built this empire….was the fitness level and dedication to the trade…..that the Klitschko boys have dedicated themselves…..
It is getting much more dificult for these two guys to continue ..to arrive in much better physical conditon than their opponents Neither of these lads are young…..forty would be the average. Time waits for NO MANPosted October 5, 2012 8:47 pm
I would like to see one of the champs actualy fight a top rated opponent for a change, none of them fight anyone any goodPosted October 5, 2012 12:19 pm
Well said.Posted October 5, 2012 11:47 am
Valuev – Vitali could be more competitive.Posted October 5, 2012 10:50 am

I still would like to see Wladimir Klitschko vs. Nicolay Valuev, even tho Valuev would be no match for Wladimir.Posted October 5, 2012 10:33 am
