Maidana-Mayweather is a garbage fight. Only morons will watch this. This is tailor made to make Floyd look great. Mayweather has changed boxing into a runner’s game. Maidana is a plodder, he will never catch up with Floyd Mayrunner.

Floyd Mayweather Jr. is not a boxer he is a track and field athlete who keeps on running all over the ring.WHAT A COWARD!

And he still wins, convincingly. So much so that Pro Boxers and Trainers admire his ability.

Standing toe to toe when you don’t have to is idiotic. Those that can’t are the only ones that think its “cowardly.”

Top Crap hung from Mayweather`s fame to make Napman almost as famous as him, Mayweather (for haters and losers) means what needs to be destroyed, in the other hand they made Napman, a “saint and humble” man who is lovable for everyone. Napman is not famous because of himself but for the hate for Mayweather and a good maneuver that Top Crap made to make him a star… if it wasnt for Mayweather he would be a nobody, too bad that Pactards and haters dont wake up from their dream after their hero was exposed like a phony

Napman is the BIGGEST phony in boxing history, he is a creation of Top Crap Promotions who loves to make false idols, they built up an “8 divisions champion” (facing lame opposition with vacant titles) so their last attempt was to make a champion with only ONE profesional fight with Lomachenko…. FAIL…. Top Crap stinks but what stinks more are the morons who believe in their BS

did that nutsack say pac has to earn a shot at floyd through bradley? pac could legitametly loose to bradley and be post ko loss to jmm AND STILL BE MORE DESERVING than guerrero, ortiz, kahn, maidana, canelo, pretty much anyone floyd has rver fought

He doesn’t have to earn, agree. but in order to sell the fight back to where it could be numbers wise, Pac has to look great against Bradley. And after that, I wouldn’t be surprised if he fights JMM since that’s the word going around. If he beats JMM, and can you imagine if he were able to knock out both Bradley and JMM back to back, the demand would be huge again for a Pac/May fight.

Of course, there is to much drama between both sides so I would suggest just paying attention to “real” possible fights with fighters that want to face off against each other and work out a reasonable business deal to get it done.

Floyd stood right in front of Cotto. Yall keep saying he isn’t what he thinks he is because he had a bloody nose. This is boxing and you are going to get hit. There are not many fighters who stand right in front of Cotto and make it the distance. Heck even Pac had a busted ear drum from Cotto. Cotto issues damage plain and simple

Posted March 6, 2014 5:06 pm

PEEJ

Actually Floyd is everything to Pac for Pac needing to earn a fight. Pac has lost 2 or his last 4 fights. His come back fight against Rios was nothing. This is a true test against Bradley. If he shows he can beat Bradley they he will be back, but again he is with Top Rank and Top Rank and Floyd are not working together. Arum has found reason after reason for not taking the fight against Floyd. Yes Floyd has come up with excuses too but only after Arum has come out with his. So no Floyd doesn’t want to work with him. That is unfortunate. But Roach has already come out and said he sees no reason why Arum wouldn’t step aside and let them negotiate the fight with out him. Arum has already stated he was all for donating all the money to charity. So he would see no money from the fight if that happened. So he should have no issues with stepping aside.

Floyds ability to adjust and his I.Q is good but overrated. He a great fighter who avoids the few fighters who can shatter his image of invincibility. The one fighter whos close to that league that Floyd fought (Cotto) showed that Floyd isn’t what the perception is of him.

Posted March 6, 2014 4:23 pm

PEEJ

Actually Pac has no title. He has to go through Bradley to earn the right to face Floyd. Then on top of that he needs to have Arum sit out of this one, Roach has already said he doesn’t see a reason on why this can’t happen. But if not, the fight will never happen because of Arum reluctance to have Pac face Floyd. But the under card should be great as most are with Golden Boy cards. If you don’t want to watch Floyd that is all fine and dandy but you should check out the under cards.

Constantine the Czar

My friends, do not hand over your hard-earned money essentially straight to Floyd, or the MGM Grand or to any PPV network to see this flagrant mismatch…Marcos Maidana is a fine pugilist, but not in Floyd’s class. There is however, one man at 147lbs who is. That man is, of course, Emmanuel ‘Manny’ Pacquiao, The Fighting Lion of the Phillipines. Manny is an 8 Weight Division WORLD CHAMPION, with titles from Flyweight all the way up to Light Middleweight. In addition, he is a multiple prestigious Ring Magazine Fighter of the Year Award winner and was voted FIGHTER OF THE DECADE no less, by esteemed figures in the boxing game. Manny Pacquiao is a TRULY iconic and legendary figure of the sport who travels and fights ALL OVER THE GLOBE, from sea to shining sea. Manny is a Superhuman blazing whirling dynamo of Asian fighting fury, a cyclone of combustible power, speed and aggression, a typhoon of terror, a hurricane of hurt, a tsunami of complex sophisticated skills, a tornado of tremendous terrifying torment for his hapless opponents. This ‘Mighty Atom of the Ring’ fears NO MAN, NO FOE, NO RIVAL and why would he, for he is larger-than-life, a man akin to a Superhero, another Superman, Spiderman, Batman, Captain America and Captain Marvel, not to mention the amazing Iron Man. My people, Manny Pacquiao is a man on a mission, a man ready to reclaim ANOTHER World Championship title on the way back to the top. This boxing superhero is a magnificent, yet magnanimous, maestro, a peerless professional, a fearless fighting Filipino phenomenon, a hurtful, yet heroic and humble hero to people EVERYWHERE from Asia to America, from Europe to Eurasia, from Africa to Australasia, from the Artic to Antartica even. Make no mistake, my friends, Manny Pacquiao is back to reclaim what is rightfully his. Manny is AN ALL TIME GREAT OF THE RING, a FIGHTER FOR THE AGES, a BOXER WITHOUT COMPARE and Manny is, without doubt, the best.

Manny Pacquiao, the iconic legendary fighter will continue his success outside of the boxing ring with the world premiere of his documentary movie, “MANNY” put on display on March 8th at the prestigious South By Southwest Film Festival in Austin Texas. Manny Pacquiao is somewhat of a world leader. While the majority of fighters only fight to make a living, Manny Pacquiao reaches across the world with a movie about his life that is currently being celebrated in different parts of the world. The impact Manny Pacquiao has on society today cannot be measured. Not only is “MANNY” the movie making noise, but Manny’s highly anticipated rematch against Timothy Bradley is rumored to set more PPV records. Forget the other mismatches (Mayeather vs Maidana & Canelo vs Angulo), Manny owns Las Vegas. The city comes alive each time Manny’s makes his presence known. The ONLY 8 division boxing champion in the history of boxing is an incredible fighter to watch. Electricity fills the air as he makes his way to the boxing ring. We’ve all seen it, and some of us have actually been part of that moment standing inside the venue. The MGM Grand is Manny’s home. On occasion, he lends it out to others that can find a place to fight. Manny is boxing’s only super star at the moment. His chasing after the wind trying to get Floyd Mayweather to fight him has ended in disappointment because Mayweather wants no part of Manny Pacquiao, and that’s a fact. Manny’s unrelenting style of attack puts fear in the hearts of men. Lydell Rhodes, one of the Mayweather’s prized unbeaten pupils is learning about Manny the hard way. Rhodes has come away with immense respect and awe of the man, the myth and the living legend. He said at one point that he couldn’t see Manny’s punches coming. Rhodes also stated that Manny’s legendary power is real. Boxing fans no longer have to wonder why Floyd Mayweather will not fight Manny Pacquiao. Manny is simply the greatest pure fighter of all time. His speed, power and boxing intellect is unmatched. He is a 35 year old warrior that continues to get better. He’s not aging or going away. Don’t believe it for a second. Floyd doesn’t. Just watch and compare the the PPV numbers and see how Manny will draw all by himself. he doesn’t need an under card to sell his fight. This is Manny pacquiao. The best of our time and quite posiblly the best we’ve ever seen. Most fans would agree, trust me. Manny is the best.

Im certain Ortiz took a dive someone would have to produce paperwork for me stating he was either a special needs child or has a learning disability to convince me otherwise. If I ever see Canelo pressure a boxer like lets say Lara that will confirm for me he took a dive and Havoc raised some good points about the Mosley fight. This is Floyd we’re talking about a guy who only cares about his bottom line and will do anything to keep the gravy train on its tracks. This is the guy who copied the WWE marketing format and the Ortiz fight fight was a WWE match. How many times in WWE have we seen someone defeat an opponent when the ref is looking away then when the ref turns back around he counts the guy out.

Floyd earned the right to fight in Vegas. He left his birth town, traveled a bit to different places which including going to A.C. and fighting Gatti on his home boxing turf, conquered it, went after De La Hoya on his home boxing turf, Vegas, conquered it, and stayed, like the ancient Romans did when they went out and conquered the territory we now know as Italy.

If you want Rome, like Hannibal had to, you go and conquer it.

OF course, the Romans expanded their Empire by fighting outside of Rome and even attacked Hannibal on in his homeland but….ahh damn…Floyd needs to fight World-Wide.

“MGM Grand in Las Vegas selected as official site…”

Ok, I learned how MGM Grand was “selected” or “won” the right to host yet another Mayweather fight:

Golden Boy Promotions waves their site fee in exchange for the MGM Grand gate revenues for the fight. In other words, they paid for the right to have the fight at the MGM Grand. That’s millions of dollars folks. And no wonder MGM Grand would be willing to pay such a huge fee–they’ll make it all back in one night, and much much more!

I’d still like to see some of Floyd’s fights held somewhere else. Really, it’s unfair that he always gets to fight on his “home field,” and that he never has to suffer any of the disadvantages that his opponents do. Floyd never has to fight with any of the disadvantages that his opponents do: Training in unfamiliar surroundings and gyms, sleeping in hotels and unfamiliar places, jet lag, not having the home crowd to root for him, never having to eat away from home (he has his own executive chef who prepares all his meals for him). The guy really does have all the odds stacked in his favor when he goes into a fight!

Havoc wow your post about Mosley taking a dive is enlightening. It did look like Mosley was hesitant to throw in fear of koing Floyd by accident. For me thats now 3 fights I suspect Floyds opponents took dives in. Ortiz, Canelo and Mosley great post insightful and something I completely overlooked.

_

You two don’t believe that, do you?
Same Mosley that unleashed a bomb on Mayweather’s chin and then continued his attack stunning Floyd a couple more times took a dive?

WOW, at least he made it look less obvious than his “dive” against Pac then.

by the way, Shane himself said the openings closed real quick which is why he had a hard time getting to Floyd’s chin again. That’s Floyd’s ability to adapt. Corley had the same issue which he himself pointed out.

Even Roach said the same.

Havoc wow your post about Mosley taking a dive is enlightening. It did look like Mosley was hesitant to throw in fear of koing Floyd by accident. For me thats now 3 fights I suspect Floyds opponents took dives in. Ortiz, Canelo and Mosley great post insightful and something I completely overlooked.

i can think of 3 names that would of giving lil floyd problems in and around his time who he just didnt want to fight for whatever reason….konsta zu, he clearly did want it. a prime paqiou and being real, if floyd really wanted this fight it wouldve been made plain and simple…he has the power to had gotten it done and lastly winky wright at jr middle which of course wasnt made aswell.Well i can even say sergio who was more than willing to move to 154 for the middleweight srap but i think by now we now the deal.Did mayweather duck these fighters?thats a matter of opinion. What i know are facts, he didnt fight the best jr welter,he didnt fight paqiou to see if he was the best welter and he didnt fight the best hr middleweight….those people are facts.

Everyone has a chance but your are right, the odds aren’t in the opponents favor that Floyd chooses to fight. Now if he were to take bigger risks (which he doesn’t have to) then “no one beats Floyd no one” can be scratched off since the many fighters above his weight class would bet him.

Floyd is the face of the sport so once he makes a move its big news. The fight still isn’t worth it since it isn’t a Mega Fight. If it does well he is more than likely going to continue to take the path of least resistant. If it doesn’t do well like it didn’t with Robot Guerrero, then he will be pushed back into a risk fight.

Whats funny is that they got an article on MSN about Floyd fighting at the MGM. Sounds like people may be interested in this fight after all. More than a fight that I actually think matters more which would be the Bradley vs Pac fight. But unfortunately it isn’t getting the same play as a Floyd fight because well Floyd is just bigger. lol

Fraud got a contract with showtime that’s why he is very careful of selecting who he will fight that he is always the winner. If he made a mistakes and lose showtime also lose lot of money.Business wise bet. Fraud ie and showtime so don’t expect that this a competitive fight. We know already the winnet.

Horrible, ridiculous article trying to convince smart boxing fans that Maidana is the best option for Mayweather. Once again, Floyd has HUGE advantages in speed, boxing skills, agility, athleticism, experience, reflexes, talent, defense, ring generalship and every aspect of boxing. Alexander beat Maidana fairly easy, Khan beat Maidana and hit him with everything conceivable. And some other unknown guy back in 2009 gave Maidana a boxing lesson. Now, tell me how on earth Maidana has any kind of chance to win this fight. All this after Mr. Coward Mayweather puts out some DUMB pole for his fans, and the fans pick Khan, and still Mayweather makes fools of them all as he goes the opposite way that his fans voted for. Mayweather is making a mockery of this wonderful sport. He has DUCKED everyone that posed a challenge to him. He has obviously ran, hid and left the country just to avoid Manny Pacquiao. This fight will not go the distance, and it will be a replay of Mayweather vs Baldomir or worse, Larry Holmes vs Randall ‘Tex” Cobb. This will follow the massacre of Canelo vs Angulo. These are fights that will see one fighter destroying their limited one dimensional opponents. These fights are not competitive in the least. Once again, the 80′s and 90′s offered great competitive fights pitting the top contenders or champions fighting each other. Today, we have Floyd Mayweather as the model of ducking opposition, lying to his fans, and cherry picking those fights that present no challenge to him due to old age, catch weights, physically drained opponents, one dimensional or inexperience. Fans have been clamoring for Mayweather to fight Manny Pacquiao. He cowardly continues to run. The quality Cuban Erislandy Lara. He doesn’t even think about. GGG, forget about it. In his earlier days,he ran from Kostya Tyzu, Shane Mosely, Oscar De La Hoya, Paul Williams and many others. Floyd Mayweather made some good choices picking his management team. He has made a lot of money. He remains unbeaten in the record books even though he lost to Castillo and an old Oscar De La Hoya. He still is looked at as the DUCKER, DODGER, AVOIDER and most importantly, the man that is plain scared of fighting Manny Pacquiao. Floyd Mayweather will not another easy win to earn another padded victory over a tough, but very limited Marcos Maidana. And the only way these types of lower level fights will stop will be when fans stop buying these horrible PPV fights. The under card will undoubtedly be the Main Event. That’s how Haymon and company seem try to convince fans to pay ridiculous amounts of money for these PPV. Don’t buy this PPV if you’re smart. Floyd already had his laugh as he went the opposite way that his fans voted for. Don’t think for a second he won’t be laughing when you pay for next PPV.

Maidana has no chance period! The man that would have annihilated Floyd Mayweather 5 years ago and will destroy him today is Manny Pacquiao. Manny has the style, technique, athleticism to not only beat him, but stop him. We’ve seen an aging Shane Mosely alost knock Floyd out cold. Zab Judah was giving him problems and beating him. Oscar IMO beat him, but lost a split decision. Demarcus Chop Chop Corley had him frustrated and dropped him. Those guys had no chance to beat manny Pacquiao as Manny clearly destroyed Oscar. Manny Pacquiao is faster than Floyd, hits with much more power and can match Floyd’s movement. Ask Lydell Rhodes, Floyd Senior’s protege. Rhodes honestly stated recently after sparring 4rounds with the Filipino legend that he couldn’t see Manny’s punches coming. Rhodes said that he felt Manny’s power. This from a guy that sparred Floyd. Rhodes was in awe. I understand why Floyd wants no part of Manny. The southpaw power house that is Manny Pacquiao has all the attributes to beat Floyd in all areas. Floyd is a counter puncher that needs to be able to read his opponents timing. He waits, sees and counters. Manny uses unimaginable, unpredictable feints that have his opponents guessing. The shoulder roll will NOT work against a southpaw that has more speed than Floyd. Floyd can’t run away because Manny can match his movement. Floyd can’t stand toe to toe because we all know what would happen. Once Floyd’s speed advantage is nullified, the end is near. Floyd has no heart to fight as seen in the Cotto fight where he tried to fight, received a bloodied nose and swollen face, and decided never to try and out gut a fighter again. Manny Pacquio’s style is complex. No one beats him on a one fight basis, no one. Manny also has a beautiful supporting wife tht gives him much strength. Their situation is like Rocky II when Rocky is in the hospital with Adrian after she awakes. They have a short conversation, and she tells Rocky that he looks tired. Rocky starts talking about not maybe doing something else. Adrian tells Rocky to come here, closer to her. She says “There’ one thing I want you to do for me, Rocky “What”. Adrian responds “win.Win” and the rest is history. I get somewhat emotional as watch that scene and relate it to Manny and Jinkee. Manny is the real life Rocky 100 times over. His resume dwarfs any other fighter including Floyd Mayweather. The truth of the matter is that Manny Pacquiao is the better fighter and the better man. Come April 12, Manny Pacquiao takes over the boxing world as King of the Ring, The Peoples Champion, and The Greatest fighting Machine of all time. Trust me, Floyd will never beat Manny Pacquiao. Manny is the best!

I would like to thank the Floyd haters for their input and insightful comments. Now that we know you all won’t be paying to watch and aren’t interested in the fight, it’s time for you all to go find another article that doesn’t mention Floyd to thrash. Doing anything short of this shows your obsession with Floyd which could only be a result of your steadfast hatred towards him out of jealousy and not a justified criticism of him based on sound judgement.

CONDOLENCES GO OUT to two decent fighters who have recently past. Some of you may remember WILFORD SCYPION who lost to MARVELOUS MARVIN HAGLER in a world title bid back in the 80′s. Sadly he passed at the age of 55 through some health related issues and
former 2 weight world champion ANTONIO CERMENTO, murdered by kidnappers in Venezuela aged only 44 years old!

May they both rest in peace….

I’ll be watching as true fight fan, since Mayweather will be boxing. Once he’s done that’s it I won’t cry and blame him for making money in prize fighting. If he cherry picks his fights good since it seems to always be Champions coming off of big wins, or just current champions.

I also know for all of the haters of Mayweather that who so ever he fights, the guy he doesn’t fight will be the guy he ducking. If Mayweather had fought Khan, they would have said he didn’t deserve the fight he fights Maidana and he cherry picked the champion, where does this craziness end. With this lot of boxing fan it never will just utter stupidity.

It’s not how Floyd moves or hit his opponent it’s how thier opponent become different from thier previous style or self. I will give you example line the Mosley fight! Prior to the fight they have this 24/7 episode wher Floyd sr. Where saying that after a few rounds Mosley will be shaking because he will not going to use his protein shake because of the Olympic blood testing. Ok now, on the fight after Mosley rock Floyd all of a sudden Moskey stop punching and start acting like he is shaking. For no reason he was shaking. Sr. Is right. How did he knows that? Ha! It’s fixed!!!!!!!!

Mega fight? Really, Oh, I see GBP wrote this article. This is a lousy fight that Mayweather has cherry picked as always. Maidana, a tough fighter that has no speed, defense, movement reflexes, agility or athleticism is going to ge beaten up and stopped. The same type of fight Canelo has against Angulo. PPV fights? Come on, these fights are so predictable. I know GBP will try their best to fool people into believing these fights will be competitive. Wrong. Don’t pend your money. I already know the outcome, trust me on this. Canelo destroys Angulo and Mayweather beats up the predicable one dimensional Maidana. Don’t waste your money.

“MGM Grand Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nev. has won the right to host…)

I would greatly appreciate it if any contributing writer or a member of ESB staff, or of GBP or the MGM Grand itself, could tell me how the MGM Grand “won the right” to host Mayweather/Maidana?

Considering this “right” has been “won” for eight of Floyd’s fights over the past seven years, and considering that all 10 of Floyd’s fights since 2006 have been held in Las Vegas, NV, it seems like more of a foregone conclusion where a Floyd Mayweather Jr. fight is going to be held rather than the special accomplishment it’s made out to be.

So in all sincerity, I really would like to know exactly how this “right” was “won.”

Honestly though, my guess is the answer is: Floyd wanted it.
