I’VE JUST WATCHED PricevsThompsonII and I would really like someone to explain to me why referee Marcus MacDonald did not stop Pricey after he was hammered with about 40 unanswered blows, but was given a STANDING 8 COUNT when he more or less turned his back on the TIGER twice and then was only waived off after the ref looked into his eyes after the count?
The reason I ask this is because, I thought we did not exercise the standing 8 count here in England or at least we didn’t .
WHY could not a standing 8 count have been administered to GEORGE GROVES when he fought CARL COBRA FROCH? This would have been the most sensible and fair way in a WORLD title fight to have given the ref FOSTER the best chance to assess ST GROVES and if he felt he was still unable to defend himself he could have waived it over after.
Serious question folks. 8 count for Price but no 8 count for Groves……
Strange?Posted March 17, 2014 10:15 am
Decision says.., “Grooves had an easy time against Carl in the first fight.”
Right.. He had such an easy time of it he looked like a truck ran over him.. He looked like he needed a steak for that eye.
The referee, who is the closest guy to the action, thought Groves was in grave danger of serious injury so he jumped in to save him… He should have waited a bit… but it was only going to get worse.Posted March 14, 2014 2:33 pm

lee froch has done wonders making people hate his bro. Even in notts he gets booed at the darts nowPosted March 13, 2014 11:14 pm
Sometimes a champion meets the wrong guy, and when this happens whilst he is aging, the problem arise, he loses.
Grooves had an easy time against Carl in the first fight, hit him with great ease, there is nothing to improve for Froch, Grooves can learn from the first fight,
he can train to have a better inside game, Carl cannot train to get younger.
To be honest, I wonder why Kessler couldn’t do a better job in Froch vs Kessler 2.Posted March 13, 2014 4:49 pm
How is this a promotion for dummies? Doesn’t matter if they call it the biggest fight in British history when it’s not; it’s still a great fight — and the one everyone wanted at 168.Posted March 13, 2014 3:00 pm
Decision – by making outrageous statements without foundation you lose credibility, you look like an amateur, i would be surprised if anyone takes you seriously on here…Posted March 13, 2014 2:38 pm
Decision…..In what way does Froch act that you consider he is on roids and has been for a long time…..Interestingly you are the only person I have heard mention this in all the time on here……Tell how you came to this decision,Decision.I ask you this because your boxing knowledge is rather shaky especially when you keep calling Groves,GroovesPosted March 13, 2014 12:09 pm
Hope the fight is better than the articlePosted March 13, 2014 7:58 am

I rate both Paul Butler and Liam Smith from your list. Altho’ all those guys you mention are worthy. I think Liam is very under rated out of the Smith brothers.Posted March 13, 2014 7:37 am
Froch acts as if he is on roids, and have done so, for years now.
I both love and hate that man, but there is no way in hell that he has a chance against Grooves.
If he goes forward, Grooves will Ko him, if he goes backwards, Grooves will decision him.
Froch is now an old athlete, over the hill, ready to retire.
I suggest Grooves takes on Kessler (if he continues) in a fight he can also win.
Froch and Kessler both lacks speed and head movement.

Mark Heffron also deserves a mention!Posted March 13, 2014 7:27 am

This pundit claims…, “Groves has already got so far under Froch’s skin that Sigmund Freud couldn’t help him now.”
Sigmund Freud’s books and theories are still around.. Froch could make use of them.. But Froch is opting for an in-the-flesh psychologist so he doesn’t need Freud.
It all goes towards the intensity of his perparation. He knows he overtrained for Ward… He was so tight and anxious he couldn’t get going in that fight… For Bute he came in perfect … and that’s so rare with Carl he wants to duplicate that.
For Kessler II he was over-the-top — with sort of a manufactured dislike for Kessler.. He said he was ready to kill Kessler and that’s too much.. He has to make sure he doesn’t go to extremes because Groves might make him blow his stack at the wrong moment.
He already says he’s going to approach this with the same attitude he had for Bute… Bute took such a beating that he nixed a guaranteed return fight in Canada… That’s called intimidation. He melted the man’s will.
The psychologist isn’t really needed.. He’s just there for extra insurance that no stones are left unturned.. Losing to a clownish ponce like Groves would be the worst thing Froch could ever imagine … and he won’t let that happen.Posted March 12, 2014 8:12 pm

Boxing is absolutely booming at the moment in the UK
I looked at a fight schedule on Box Recs recently and there were 5 x shows happening all around the country, none of them on TV
In 5 x years the UK will reaping the benefits of this upsurge of boxing talent
I left the UK in 2004 but and thought the 90’s was the best ever era for boxing, it was amazing
Black America is committing suicide right now over this awesome white man fight.Posted March 12, 2014 11:05 am
