@Samantha – “My moms nane is angle”

I don’t mean to be obtuse, but I’m sure she’s acute one, am I right?

I strongly recommend that somebody snatch that video camera out of that kid’s hands and never let him use one again. :)

BTW, was Angel saying Herrero instead of Herrera? I could swear he was putting an “o” on the end of Herrera’s name. I mean, Angel is Puerto Rican and he should know how to speak and enunciate Spanish.

“tough guys” like Angel would never survive in Cali. his brand of gas is quickly cut-off with a demand for action that he can’t refuse. at which point, he would learn to keep his sh@thole SHUT.

Garcia’s dad is one annoying idiot. All of his body language is of an immature person, a rappa comes to mind who has to keep this really cool impression with the public. Everything about him is childish, he is living through his son and i imagine he would be a total b*stard to his son if he ever lost.

Garcia by late stoppage or close but unanimous decision

BTW, i was rooting for Herrera against Provo but didn’t think he won

look up the punch stats……i saw the fight, prov outlanded and landed the harder punches

Posted March 13, 2014 11:52 am

bmac306

Herrera can take a punch, but can’t make you pay. It will be who lands more and who looks better doing it. Herrera has to win by knockout. And provodnikov landed far less (punch stats)

I thought he lost to Ruslan myself. Ruslan came on in the 2nd half and I thought he pulled it out.

Garcia’s poise has served him well v. hard-charging punchers and his unexpectedly powerful left-hook has earned him upset wins but Herrera is a boxer with equal poise and grit. it’ll be a moderate chess-match for a couple of rounds before Herrera will have to make the fight by carefully going after Danny. it’ll be interesting to watch Garcia adapt to Herrera and absolutely hilarious to watch Messyhoe’s sustained meltdown intensify if Garcia loses, which he’s not supposed too. this is a tune-up bone for ricans designed to cultivate a fanbase that Garcia doesn’t have in the states. unfortunately, we already saw the attempted robbery of Salido before he KTFO of Lopez in PR. Herrera may have to do the same to earn the “W” under the same circumstances.

Provo outlanded Herrera plus landed the harder punches….I saw the fight

Danny May not be as strong as Provodnikov, but definitely is far more skilled with better timing, better combos, foot work, and controls distance. Distance is why he beat Matthysse, it allowed him to Smithers his power shots and beat him down throughout the fight

been following boxing for 56 yrs and definitely know what i’m talking about……it was a close fight….i just think Provodnikov won and so did many other fans…not a robbery but certainly a surprise

Posted March 13, 2014 11:07 am

bmac306

Herrera definitely beat provodnikov, it depends on what your looking for and how you score fights. Effective aggression and skills wins. Not forward aggression, if the guy can hurt his opponent, and hard punches. This is about skills, not brutality

I thought Herrera really lost to Provodnikov in a close fight, he has very little power and will really have to hustle just to stay in the fight. Garcia has been fighting some really good fighters lately and an easy fight is well deserved, although he will still be in great condition and not taking Herrera lightly

I like Danny. He is gonna beat Herrera and hopefully KO him. I am actually going to get to see the fight instead of watching it on DVR. Can’t pick against Garcia at 140. Hopefully in a fight or 2 he moves up to Welter and handles business there.

@deepwaterssss – “plus can’t speak spanish which is weird”

Sure he can. I dunno how well (i.e. I don’t know any Spanish) but there are videos of him on YouTube doing interviews in Spanish (e.g. watch?v=DMKdAHbJRoU)

This whole ‘I’m Puerto Rican’ thing is so funny. I’ve never heard him mention it until someone came up with the great idea that Garcia needs a bigger fan base. Hilarious.

*NEWS FLASH*

Forget Floyd Mayweather. He’s going down for a LONG time this time, for attempted murder.

Good riddance to bad rubbish.

herrera won’t win unless dannny doesnt train,or he gets hit like khan did

Posted March 13, 2014 12:06 am

This fight is crazy cause nobody knows who Herrera is? But come Sat if he wins the whole world will get to know him. I never seemed him fight, so I guess he has a 2% Chavez of winning.

lets not foget josesito lopez, a jr. welter

Posted March 12, 2014 11:47 pm

bmac306

all those guys were pretty big names with the exception of Ortiz who had momentum after a big fight much like Maidana. neither guy earned a shot. Maidana fought Broner,a light weight. shop worn sotto karras, lost to alexander and khan. skills and footwork will beat Maidana every time. Broner even rocked him a few times! Mayweather has always ducked people. he fought an old Cotto and almost lost.

bmac306- thats what every fighter says, eventually realizing that if they want to reach the sky then the Mayweather path is the only way. Facing Mayweather means a big paycheck and immediate stardom (should they win, the big lottery ticket).
Lets review, Ricky Hatton went up to face Mayweather only after 1 fight at welter, thats how they are going to build up a Danny Garia v Mayweather showdown if it ever goes down. 1 fight at welter then boom….jump right over and face Mayweather. Same thing happend with Marquez, Ortiz, and Guerrero. So is it impossible you ask? No. Be on the look out for that matchup as Mayweather only has but a few fights left on his contract. The path of least resistance.

first fight

Posted March 12, 2014 11:27 pm

bmac306

Danny doesnt need Mayweather except for a pay day. He fights at 140 and no way does he make his fist fight at welter weight against Money Mayweather! golden boy needs the next Puerto Rican Champ and cash cow. Its about marketing and building a career and tough fight after tough fight is a good way to hurt your fighters career. Matthysse has power and thats it. Zab Judah ptoved that. Anybody with skills that can box and take a punch will beat Matthysse

Posted March 12, 2014 11:24 pm

Heckled Dog

Messyhoe- far greater threat? Who is Danny Garcia fighting again? People knew who Angulo was. Did you have dinner with Herrera or what do you base you expert analysis on? If you had said Mattyhsse I would agree but cmon… no one knows this kid Herrera. Keep dreaming dude… Enjoy your fight as Im sure ONLY YOU and maybe a SMALL handfull of loyal Danny fans will tune in. As for the rest of us (WORLD) , we will wait to watch it on Youtube or some other internet source. You and HEC DOG should meet. You both have alot in common. (idol obscessions.)

This fight is useless. Instead of capitalizing on his win over Matthysse, Danny takes a giant step down and fights this bum. Could really hurt his career going forward.

AMEN to that. Couldn’t have said it better myself.

Peloton

If they wanted to throw him a Mexican punching bag just to pretend this is a Mexico vs. Puerto Rico fight, they should at least put him in with Alfonso Gomez or Pablo Cano, easy fights for Danny, but at least they have a name. Herrera who???? Hell even the corpse formerly known as Eric Morales would put more of a fight than this Bum Herrera. Golden Boy is just grooming Danny for Money Mayweather’s last fight, so he can spank him around for 12 rounds, but make GB a crapload of Money.
