Malignaggi right now would beat Khan in a rematch. He beat Zab who almost beat Garcia a few months earlier easily. He will beat Porter it is not an easy fight but porter will not be ready for what is coming at himPosted March 19, 2014 7:38 pm
“but the problem was that Khan was a mile away from him, so what was he swinging at?”
Paulie had one arm around Khan and was swinging with the other. How is it that you can’t see this in the video? Khan became “a mile away from him” AFTER the ref stepped between them to halt the fight.Posted March 19, 2014 4:41 pm

“his career will end by losing to another top fighter” – He should of got the win against Broner. It was Paulie who exposed him.Posted March 19, 2014 1:15 pm
Hidalg0 my friend, he was wrapped up by the referee, and had to save face by swinging to make it look like he was not giving up. He was either knocked out on his feet or he was pretending to show fans he wanted to continue, but the problem was that Khan was a mile away from him, so what was he swinging at? He made it seem like he wanted to fight. Look at his expressions and the punches he was throwing. He didn’t want any more. Look, i respect Malignaggi for being a professional fighter that has made some good money, and can be articulate at times. What I can’t stand about him is that he parades around like he has done something special in boxing. He was beaten by every top guy he ever fought. He will continue to lose against Porter because Porter is a solid fighter with a lot of skills. Malignaggi deep down knows full well that he can’t beat him. The pay day and exposure will benefit Malignaggi as will the Show Time fight. And once again he will lose. The excuses about breaking his hands have left him without power are garbage. He could never punch in the amateurs or the pro ranks. he is what he is, and that’s a decent just above club fighter that has no power. His mouth actually helped his career, but I can’t stand big mouth fighters that can’t back it up. Ali did it, Roy Jones did it, Malignaggi failed to back it up, and once again, his career will end by losing to another top fighter.Posted March 19, 2014 12:54 pm

I think Paulie is an intelligent, unappreciated fighter. If he had more power I think he would be more respected and more formidable. Its nice to see the Italian legacy of boxing—LaMotta, Marciano, Pep—carried on by Paulie.Posted March 19, 2014 10:42 am

BTW, Hec Dog, I never said Paulie didn’t get his azz kicked by Khan. But at the beginning of the 11th round even the commentators said, referring to Paulie because he had taken such a beating but still wanted to continue, “He’ll never quit.” And he didn’t.Posted March 19, 2014 12:43 am
“Hidalgo my friend, he was still swinging?”
Here it is Hec Dog, he was fighting back when Smoger stepped between them and stopped the fight. Convince yourself otherwise, but here it is:

Hidalg0 my friend, he was still swinging????? Yeah he was looking for a way out, and once the referee came to save his life, he pretended to swinging at Khan that was all the way across the ring. Khan beat that bum up badly. He was never in the fight. The jab gave Mlignaggi whiplash. His eyes were looking for a way out and if the referee hadn’t saved him he was on his way to being stopped or he would have quit in the corner, trust me.Posted March 18, 2014 10:49 pm

FALSE! Paulie was still swinging when the fight was stopped. Watch the fight again.Posted March 18, 2014 10:28 pm
Malignaggi will receive his final beating in the ring. Finally we don’t have to see this prancing, feather fists, can’t beat any top contender in the ring for good. This babbling wannabe Mafia leader has bored the sport of boxing. He could barely draw 10 people outside of his home town. I will give him credit for his toughness each time he fought someone good, he sure took punch after punch real well. Let’s see, Cotto left him with a broken jaw and disfigured. Khan pummeled him until he quit in the ring. Hatton beat him like a drum and had him looking for cover. Broner took his girl and took his belt. And cano beat him all over the ring, but GBP and Haymon seemed to have had some pull. He then fights and old, pathetic, no heart fighting Zab Judah and wins the most pathetic trinket belt fom the nearest hardware store, and Malignaggi believes he just won a world title. We know Judah was always a quitter. And now he gets a title shot because he has that behind the scenes person that figures out away to open doors for this babbling, big mouth. My boy Vicente Escobedo beat the life out of him back in the amateur days on his way to the Olympics, and even in his own backyard. Malignaggi was a big mouth back then. Finally Porter shuts this bum up once and for all. Good bye and good riddens.Posted March 18, 2014 9:45 pm
Hidalgo, I can’t argue with that. PM, fought a great fight. He arguably made Judah look about as bad as I’ve ever seen him. Which is why, I have a feeling Judah looking less than average may have had to do with more than PM making him look that way. Still props to PM for a very good win. Maybe he’ll cause problems for Porter too. if he does, I’ll be sure to give him deserved props.Posted March 18, 2014 9:09 pm
“I figured Judah would beat PM. As a matter of fact, I didn’t think Judah looked like himself at all in that fight. ”
He wasn’t himself Tomato Can because Paulie prevented that from happening. Paulie had him flustered and took him out of his game plan.Posted March 18, 2014 9:00 pm

Hec Dog, here’s what you said prior to the Malignaggi Judah fight: “Malignaggi vs Juda, Judah wins unless it’s rigged up for big mouth Malignaggi since he works for Show Time…Hope Judah retires him for good.”
I told you Paulie would beat Judah by UD and he did. Yet Judah gave Danny Garcia all he could handle when they fought. And like I reminded you before Hec Dog, Malignaggi beat Judah by a wider margin that Garcia did. So yeah, I’d say Paulie not only has “some actual boxing ability,” he has a lot of it.Posted March 18, 2014 4:57 pm

Malignaggi has surely convinced at least a few of you that he has some actual boxing ability. And once again, he will receive a beating at the hands Shawn Porter and you will some how find it in you to say he he fought a great fight, has great fighting skills and is an A fighter, and as always he will have lost to another champion or good fighter. I’m sure you guys also feel he beat Cano. Come on people, Malignaggi is a lousy fighter that has let his big mouth do more damage than his punches. He is a D level fighter that will never be a champion again unless Mr. Haymon and GBP have something to do with it. And like I said, a punching bag is tough and also takes punches just like Malignaggi.Posted March 18, 2014 10:49 am

I will not take your angry words to heart, and forgive you for being so angry with me. I have a right to say my opinions as well as you do. Are there some posts I dislike and disagree whole heartily? Yes, but i don’t react emotionally, I react rationally and do not let those types of things bother me. Malignaggi in my opinion is a D level fighters, and the fact is that he loses to all champions and top fighters as he will continue to do when he fights Porter. This is fact. He has a big mouth and thinks he’s accomplished something big in boxing yet he’s lost to them all. That’s a fact. Will he ever be a Hall Of Famer? No, and that’s a fact. Is he deserving of a title shot? No, and that’s a fact. Can he beat any of the elite fighters today? No, and that’s a fact. Did he begin to get title fights and have himself climb up the rankings without earning his way since he signed with GBP and Al Haymon ? yes, and that’s a fact. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers so that you may find some peace and not be so angry about things I post. May God Bless you all.Posted March 18, 2014 2:06 am
“I find Malignaggi quite a good commentator. He offers some good insights during a fight. Should hang up the gloves while his faculties are intact. He will get work.”
If he loses to Porter, I agree. Paulie is not a young lion anymore. But you know, fighter’s like Paulie, well, that’s what they’re made of. They love to fight. No matter what happens in the Porter fight, Paulie can always hold his head high because he’s always been a valiant warrior.Posted March 18, 2014 1:39 am
“Only GGG has 200 wins as Shawn, they both share the same trainer that terry Norris former trainer, the Mexican, and both have the same attack 1-5 and block or duct the counter as terry.”
That trainer would be Abel Sanchez. Here’s something else that’s very special about Paulie: He only had 25 amateur fights. Won 22, lost 3. Yet he has held numerous world titles. I have no doubts about Porter’s abilities or record, but I can just never count out Paulie’s ring I.Q. or his desire to win. He’s a very smart fighter–that’s why he gave Broner such a fit. Imagine how much better Paulie would be if he had a punch that would make his opponents cautious.Posted March 18, 2014 1:36 am

Hidalg0, I been following porter for a long time, I predicted he would be a contender, I tell you why.
Shawn got these 212 wins Most were when he was fighting at 165 lb, he lost weight and gain speed he still have power. he have fought heavy weight in training many times say his dad.
Also James kirtland came to visit after he got knock out by nishida and ask to spar. his dad said come by later and you can spar, well James started the names calling to get Shawn angry because he wanted a ko. And they fought, not sparred and it’s was a war. After 8 round his dad called if off and Kirkland both nose were bleeding and in the 7 round Shawn knock down Kirkland .
Paulie Malignaggi is not a power puncher because of his brittle hands when have been injured, broken and repaired numerous times over the duration of his boxing career. His ability to stay relevant and still compete for world titles without having the benefit of real power is testament to his skills and abilities. But even if he just naturally had “feather-fists” he’s still one helluva fighter.Posted March 18, 2014 12:10 am
Hidalg0, let’s start from the beginning, isn’t paulie his first name? It’s is right? Everybody call him paulie, did I ever say he punches are powers less like a girl? No you were piss off at the earlier post below and took your anger at me. I said I like paulie, hell I was defending him in his last fight here.
Remenber you started to criticize my writing and made me look dumb , and telling me I don’t have respect, because of calling him Paulie. It’s his first name.

Pan Pacific Park in Los Angeles was the selected site for Manny Pacquiao’s celebrated running and conditioning morning routine. Manny Pacquiao appears to be in the best shape of his life as the lean muscle mass is sprouting throughout the legends body. As usual, an enormous crowd, which appeared to look like thousands of fans kept watch on what seemed like a few hours just to catch a glimpse of the legendary only 8 division boxing champion. Los Angeles has never experienced this kind of attention. The Rodney King riots come close, but this event is a positive one that gives people the opportunity to witness arguably the greatest fighting machine boxing has ever produced. LA seems to have become the 8th wonder of the world as fans from all across the city attempt to make their way to Manny Pacquiao. The city has taken the necessary precautions to keep traffic under control, but fans seem to find a way to Pan Pacific Park. Under ground tunnels are currently being investigated as possible routes being used by fans to to the park. Manny Pacquiao was also rumored to have made his way during the day to City Hall. Rumors were circulating that he may be receiving keys to the city, which is always the case when Manny pays a visit to all cities in the country. Manny Pacquiao is more than just an icon and hero to people. He’s an artist painting his own picture with his explosive fists. News of Manny training in the world famous Wild Card Gym continues to bring in the stars of entertainment and the sports world. Singing legend Bob Marley was one of the fortunate knowledgeable fans that paid Manny a visit and was treated to an amazing display of boxing as Manny sparred a couple of sparring partners. Manny showcased his explosive power and speed as he opened up boxing’s largest display of pulverizing combinations leaving his sparring partners bloodied and confused. This is a fighter that is becoming more brutal as the fight date nears. Timothy Bradley has been warned. This is a new Manny Pacquiao on a mission to get back his stolen title belt. The fast hands, the agile body movement, the sharp shooting punches and the deceptive smile that Manny wears inside the squared circle is a sign of a lion waiting to take on his next challenger. Only the strong survive in the animal world, and in boxing. Manny sees his next prey, and the stalking has begun. We’re less than a month away before boxing’s most historical and meaningful fight becomes a reality. The MGM will be a site to see on April 12th. This will seem like a home coming of sorts as the venue will be packed with 99% Pacquiao fans. I would assume most of them including myself will be wearing the best selling shoe of all time, the Manny PAcquiao Nike Lunar TR1 shoe with brilliant blue, red, yellow and white colors. The arena will shine like a rainbow as we all stand up in excitement every time Manny lands those bombs. I highly suggest everyone coming to this once in a life time event bring some bring some sun glasses. Manny Mania is here again. Manny is the best!Posted March 17, 2014 9:32 pm

Considering your Neanderthal writing prose Mike Tyson, it’s no wonder you don’t have enough respect to call Paulie by his correct name.
The main reason Paulie is not a power puncher is because he has brittle hands. He’s injured them numerous times during his career yet he continues to fight, to stay relevant and to win titles. A lot of fighters would have given up a long time ago or relegated themselves to being journeymen, but Paulie keeps striving for world titles.

Devon Alexander did beat maidana easily lately U.D.
Brooks has yet to step up to any real comp. Or really any B level fight. Paulie has good boxing skills just not much power. I think if he can keep his jab pumping which normally isn’t an issue and can side step Porter then he can win a decision. If not then Porter will win a decision. Don’t really think Porter is much of a puncher. Can’t pick a winner but am going for PauliePosted March 17, 2014 2:47 pm
I have check out kell brooks fights. His repetition is to large for his boring long fight must be the English lads posting helping there fighter, did that with hatten too.
Malignaggi has a recrod of 33 wins 5 losses and 2 ko’s. Pathetic to say the least. He lost to Cotto, Khan, Hatton, Broner and Diaz. He then fights an old Mr, tough acting, heartless Zab Judah and someone gives him a trinket belt made at the nearest hardware store and he goes around the ring showing it off, and that earns him a title shot? Forget how tough some people think he is, a punching bag is tough also. Malignaggi deserves a thorough beating, and he will get it when he faces Porter. Malignaggi is way out of his league as he always has been. He’s D level fighter with a big obnoxious mouth. Malignaggi is going to get what he deserves and the boxing world will be better off. On April 12, Malignaggi and boxing fans will see what a real fighter is. A fighter that takes on everyone, beats everyone and is arguably the greatest fighter of all time, Manny Pacquiao. Maybe Mailignaggi can have one more fight against Manny Pacquiao since he’s been running his mouth and accusing Manny of Ped use. Malignaggi has been accused of being a real fighter. Porter is the real deal, and will punish Malignaggi for as long as the fight lasts. Hopefully Al Haymon won’t have any pull with the judges, which always seems to be the case. Porter will stop him easily so we won’t have to worry about corrupt judging. I never could stand that big mouth Malignaggi. Good by and good riddens.Posted March 17, 2014 2:39 pm

i like both guys, got to love Paulie for his spirit, but I did predicted porter would be the next top fighter long ago he was a avoided fighter that got luck, funny because paulie back out of his exlander fight porter was next in line, Paulie win by out working his opponate and on more points,
this is Paulie wrong fight , Porter no broner or exlander but he even more busy and punch even harder , and porter know that Paulie cant hurt him. So look for a all pressure fight that will wear Paulie out, porter has 4-5 combination attack and he duck and block the counter very well.its his trade mark.
I really think Porter will stop PM. The strength difference will be too much for PM. But props to PM for taking the fight, I would happy to see him prove me wrong…Posted March 17, 2014 2:22 pm
I like this fight. I am hoping Paulie can pull this out. He will need to keep his jab moving and stepping to the side. See how this fight goes. I still have questions about Porter after the first Diaz fight but he seemed to rectify that. But looking forward to this fight.Posted March 17, 2014 2:02 pm

Glad to see Paulie getting another shot. I thought that his belt was taken from him and given to Broner pretty unjustly. If you would have asked me five or six years ago before Paulie was robbed in the Amir Kahn fight I would have told you Malignaggi is a 3rd tier fighter with glass hands. He was washed up before he won his first belt.
I stand corrected. He’s proven to be made of more than I knew. What I took as a hyper little dude with bad braids and modest trash talking skills has been parleyed into a really decent analyst that I enjoy listening to during a fight and a man with a champion’s heart and skills in the ring.
To be honest I think that Porter is the truth and he’s now in his prime. I don’t see Paulie getting his title back but I will tune in and be glad of it if he does manage to shock me and become a 3-time world champion. Good luck to both fighters this April. I’m sure you’ll put on a hell of show.Posted March 17, 2014 1:40 pm
SIR ‘ENERY Yes indeed, I’m sure that you’ve noticed that not many give any feedback to his comments nor take him seriously much at all. it’s no doubt that he’s being IGNORED! Soon he will either have get with the program or live a very lonely life without the attention he desperately thrives for. But he’ll always have HIMSELF to accompany HIMSELF, cheer HIMSELF up, give HIMSELF props & glory, pat HIMSELF on his backside, and tell HIMSELF that he’s the “greatest whatever” ever born. I gotta admit, he’d ONE of a kind, the kind that not too many seem to like much anymore, maybe a little. BTW, are you really from the UK?Posted March 17, 2014 1:37 pm

Yup. This is how the IBF works. And we had a couple of DUMMIES saying that Hopkins was ducking Kovalev while carrying an IBF belt??? Obviously they don’t follow Boxing TOO closely. The IBF orders mandatory Defenses to purse bid after a VERY short window for independent negotiations. And the Fight is ordered within 90 days of the announcement. IF you duck the Fight you’re stripped no IFS, ANDS, or BUTS about it. The Hopkins Fight never even made it to purse bid because Kovalev already DUCKED out of the position. IF Hopkins had ducked he would no longer be IBF CHAMP….just as IF the Porter-Malignaggi WINNER ducks Brook they will no longer be IBF CHAMP….Porter by ROUGH housing decision.Posted March 17, 2014 1:08 pm
However, I am disappointed to see “The Alien” tarnishing this boxing card. Boxing doesn’t need circus acts.Posted March 17, 2014 1:02 pm
“As always, the reason the fight was made was because the promoters think they can make a few bucks on it, nothing else…”
I don’t think so Ernie–I mean yeah, fights are always made because there’s money to be made–but it’s not like Paulie has been languishing around doing nothing, fighting nobody, or fighting infrequently. He’s been staying relevant, and fighting for world titles. This will be a good fight and a good title defense for Porter. It’s also a good style matchup with Porter being an effective aggressor and Paulie being a master at ring generalship, defense, and boxing technician.
Additionally, the winner of this fight is required to fight Kell Brook within 90 days afterwards. So if Paulie beats Porter he has to fight Brook next and if Porter beats Malignaggi, Porter has to fight Brook next. There’s some great boxing for fans to look forward too.Posted March 17, 2014 12:59 pm
Malignaggi DID do something special in the sport Hec Dog. Several times: He won the WBC International Light Welterweight title, WBC Continental Americas Light Welterweight title, IBF Light Welterweight title, WBO/NABO Light Welterweight title, and the WBA World Welterweight title.
That’s five titles, Hec Dog, three of them which were major titles: WBA, WBO, and IBF. He has won more major titles than Robert Guerrero, the guy you confidently picked to beat Floyd Mayweather Jr.
Additionally, Paulie is something special in himself. He’s a boxing purist and he’s tough as nails. For instance, go back and watch his fight with Miguel Cotto. Cotto knocked him down, cut him, broke his cheek bone, and had him bleeding from the nose and mouth, but Miguel could not take him out and Paulie finished the 12-round fight losing by UD. We are lucky if only half the young fighters today had the mettle that Paulie Malignaggi has, but the number is far less than that. You’ve never seen Paulie quit in a fight. He fights to the end, live or die, win or lose.
Paulie Malignaggi has continued to win titles and stay relevant because he’s been good enough to keep on doing it. But if he loses his upcoming fight with Porter, so F’ing what! He gives his all every time he fights and he always puts on a good show. Other than agreeing that Paulie is “feather-fisted” no other boxer or trainer on earth will criticize Paulie about his boxing skills–not in ernest anyways. They might do so if their fighter is going to face him or in the heat of a contest, but when cool heads prevails, Paulie gets more praise than oh so many other boxers in the history of the sport.Posted March 17, 2014 12:51 pm
Pay attention Top Rank. This is why you guys are the number 2 promotional company in the world and you ve been longer than Golden Boy.Posted March 17, 2014 12:40 pm
Malignaggi isn’t a bad fight for Porters first defense. Nobody else seems to be stepping up to the plate and Paulie’s loss to Broner should have been a draw at best because Broner IMO didn’t do enough to win the title. Porter is strong and plows ahead bully style keeps constant pressure on anyone he fights. Malignaggi possibly could out slick Porter and pop him with jabs and circle round pop him with more jabs and rights. Paulie has no KO power but could out hustle Porter and frustrate him all night. Malignaggi is a crafty veteran who can move, a good contest to see how good Porter is or how much he still needs to learn.Posted March 17, 2014 12:33 pm
IGNORE Boxtradumbazz’s prediction. He won’t stand by it anyways. He doesn’t exist here anymore.Posted March 17, 2014 12:28 pm

malignaggi the perfect modern hype fighter.Posted March 17, 2014 10:50 am
Malignaggi did what exactly to get a title shot ahead of all the other more deserving fighters? Once again as he’s always done. he will take a beating and hopefully retire for good. Boxing will be much better off when this big mouth, no talent feather punching, big mouth goes away for good. Malignaggi has proven to be a failure when it comes to fighting the top guys yet he runs his big mouth like he actually did something special in the sport. He seems to get title shot after title shot some how. Hmm. I wonder if GBP and Al Haymon have anything to do with that. Porter is going to destroy him and beat him like a rag all night long. Boxing will be better off when this no talent diarrhea of the mouth finally shuts up and goes away. Did he win his last fight? Who has he beaten ever? Why is this guy relevant? Didn’t he run his mouth and criticize Al Haymon at a press conference and then sign with him? Crooked sport with crooked people opening doors for undeserving bums like Malignaggi while other hard working deserving fighters get nothing. Boxing is way too corrupt. Good by and good riddens to this feather punching, big mouth Malignaggi!Posted March 17, 2014 10:45 am
