Depends which version of Marquez shows up. Look how Marquez looked for the Bradley fight vs how he looked for the Pacquiao fight. He looked like the Hulk for the Pac fight, and a weak old man for the Bradley fight. What gives???.

Manny Pacquiao is arguably the greatest prize fighter of all time, and with good cause. Manny Pacquiao’s answers and body language cannot be deciphered by what a person thinks he sees. Everyone has their own perception, and it’s ludicrous to think Manny is even remotely unsure. Trust me, I know the man better than most, and if there is someone qualified to read the man, it’s me. First off, I think it would appropriate to have a qualified translator to get Manny’s point across clearly. He occasionally has difficulty using the correct words to describe what he wants to get across. If he was explaining something in his native language, there would be no miscommunication in any way. Secondly, Timothy Bradley is trying to ruffle his own feathers by talking the talk, and posing like he’s always been confident that he could beat manny Pacquiao. He sure was singing a different song after their first fight. Bradley now beats an aging Marquez, and now he thinks he has the strategy and ability to beat a Manny Pacquiao that he sees as lacking in confidence and has lost his killer instinct. Fighters don’t lose their killer instinct. They lose their will to compete. Manny Pacquiao has lot neither. As a matter of fact, as I closely watch and study Manany Pacquiao, I see a Monster that is about to painfully destroy anyone, not just Timothy Bradley. Manny Pacquiao will begin his second reign of terror as readies himself to beat Bradley, Garcia, Porter, Broner, Canelo and Mikey Garcia. Do not underestimate a fighter of Manny Pacquiao’s ability and intelligence. If Ped Man Marquez wants another fight, please come on and bring that beat up, substance abused, fragile body to the table so that the ring legend, Manny Pacquiao ends your career for good. Floyd obviously wants no part of Manny, and once he sees Manny destroy Timothy Bradley, Mayweather will keep his phone off and doors locked. I took a glimpse of Manny’s sparring earlier, and I will tell you one thing right now. Manny will stop Bradley inside of 4 rounds or no later than 9. Ali, Duran, Robinson, Bruce Lee, Hulk Hogan, Leonard, Chavez, GSP or any other fighter beats manny Pacquiao when he is physically and mentally ready and focused, no one. Forget the cold that he had. Forget his age. Forget who’s in his camp. A few things you don’t forget about Manny Pacquiao is his extraordinary boxing skills. You don’t forget his God given natural power. You don’t forget what he is capable of doing. And you don’t forget that this fighting machine is one of a kind. He will do what everyone thinks he can’t do. Keep your eyes open on April 12 because Manny Pacquiao will defeat Timothy Bradley in a dramatic and stunning fashion. Once the fight is over, everyone will believe and agree that Manny Pacquiao should be considered the greatest fighting machine of all time. Don’t miss this fight. Manny is going to do something special. Trust me on this. Manny is the best!

Alvarado has age, size even strength on his side. But Mike lacks where Marquez exceeds, focus. Top Rank has been waiving this fight in front of Alvarado since his big win over Prescott. It will be a great fight but barring father time getting in there & helping Alvarado this looks like another tough loss for Alvarado & a hard earned “W” for Marquez.

Ped Man Marquez as usual is trying to find some way of staying relevant in boxing, and what other way then to schedule a match close to Manny Pacquiao’s historic return. Ped man Marquez needs to go away and retire, and this fight against Alvarado may just do that. Alvarado is the bigger, stronger and younger fighter, so he needs to demand Ped Man Marquez’s testing is of the highest caliber around. Marquez is desperate, and desperate people do desperate things. As we all know the acquisition of the infamous Angel Hereida, PED SUPPLIER TO THE USA OLYMPIC TRACK AND FIELD TEAM, worked is magic to bulk up Ped man Marquez, and everyone knew it. Hereida had said on tape that he could mask anything. Ped Man Marquez even lied about knowing anything about Hereida, and surprisingly, Nacho agreed. A few days later they changed their story. Lie after lie and deception after deception. Two days after the fight, Ped Man Marquez did an interview, and his facial appearance looked like a dried up grape, and he simply looked like an old, old man. Something didn’t look right, and I understood why he didn’t give interviews or showed his face for weeks. This is the same man that was drinking his own urine for an advantage. He ran from a 5th Manny fight, got his rear end kicked by Timothy Bradley. Now his rage and desperation is at bottom ends. He is old, beaten up, was on his way to retirement, but he won’t let go. Nacho wants him to retire and does not want another fight with Manny Pacquiao, but that spoiled, crying, whining, immature, jealous, envious, RAGE filled old washed up Marquez can let it go. And in the end, Ped Man Marquez will get what he deserves. Manny Pacquiao basically made him. Marquez is a good decent fighter, but his losses against Chris John and what should have been a loss against Barerra and his humiliating loss against Mayweather along with the beating he took from bradley makes him a good fighter, but because of his tarnished win against Manny Pacquiao, he will never be a respected ATG, just a good fighter with lots of question marks. Mike Alvarado may just have enough to put this whiner away for good. No one likes crying, whining, disrespectful, babies that can’t accept defeat. He lost 6 times and blames las vegas judges for that. He’s always looking to blame someone else. His credibility and his reputation will never recover, and if he by chance fights Manny Pacquiao again, he will be done for good.

Thats why Marquez made sure that didn’t happen to him again. Pacquioa was lucky he made it out alive that night. Everyone thought he was dead and I saw alot of filipinos slicing their throats…haha. My cousins told me that Mike was a two or three time state-champion wrestler back in high school. So that means he more than likely had multiple scholarship offers to wrestle in college, but chose boxing instead. I’ve heard some crazy stories about Mike and he’s not the type of guy you’d want to get into a street or bar fight with.

Manny Pacquiao, arguably the greatest fighter of all time will have no mercy on Timothy Bradley this time around. Some of you must recall that Manny came back from the loss to Ped Man Marquez, took a year off and put on one of the greatest boxing clinics ever seen. No one had ever thought that Manny Pacquiao could reinvent himself from the greatest offensive fighting machine in boxing history to a graceful, agile, poetic boxer with a defensive mechanism that only technology could create. A master performance that no one expected. The crowd in attendance gasped in awe as they witnessed Manny Pacquiao turn boxing into an art of beauty. This is a man that no one thought could ever come back. Today, he continues adding to his legend at the famous Wild Card Gym. One sparring partner for Manny Pacquiao, Lydel Rhodes said after sparring the legend “I can’t see his punches coming.” This gives you an inside glance as to what Timothy Bradley will be up against. There are current rumors at the Wild Card gym that sparring partners for Manny have given orders to their trainers to actually yell out “Incoming” 5 seconds before Manny throws his punches. Manny Pacquiao is on fire right now, and he means business. I have been following Manny Pacquiao for awhile, and I can tell you with certainty that Timothy Bradley will be stopped before round 4 or no later than round 9. Forget what Manny seems like or what Timothy Bradley says, Manny is correct when he says “My time is not yet over.” Every great fighter has more in the tank than people know. We know of a handful of great fighters that have suffered bad defeats only to come back with devastating wins. This will be the case with Manny Pacquiao. He is a fighter that stands alone and a foot above any fighter that has ever stepped into the boxing ring. Most boxing observers and fans have seen only half of what Manny Pacquiao is capable of. Those that don’t like Manny Pacquiao are coming up with their wishful thinking as to why he won’t be the same. Mayweather and Ped Man Marquez are shaking in their shoes hoping Manny doesn’t win. They fear what monster has been let loose. The heart beat of Boxing is riding on Manny Pacquiao. More fans in the USA are pulling for Manny to win this fight than in the Philippines, and that speaks volumes about Manny Pacquiao’s popularity and the love people have for him. His current training in Los Angeles has set attendance records at Griffith Park from fans wanting to catch a glimpse of this warrior. The world will stop for a brief moment on April 12 because this is an event of epic proportions. Manny’s time is not finished yet, and he’s going to prove it on April 12, trust me on this. Manny is the best!

LION KING Hola homie! Yes, I agree. I see Marquez decisioning Mike in a good competitive fight. I don’t see JMM making it a dog-fight. He might want to score a convincing KO to practically secure the Manny vs Bradley winner but I don’t see it happening. I’ve always liked Mike have many (17) of Mike’s fights in my collection. I’m expecting a good, if not great, fight. And we have to get together. I’ll be in touch this week. Paz!!

MATTHEWS I don’t doubt that for a minute. I’m a Marquez fan but try to keep it real. Yes, Provo is the tougher fight but that doesn’t mean that Mike isn’t a true threat. A weight comfortable Alvarado along with the other intangibles (youth, strength, determination) and the fact that Mike’s future as a major network player is also in the balance adds to the drama of what’s at stake to BOTH fighters. Marquez will try to impress enough to get the winner of Pac vs Bradley and at the same time Alvarado is out to prove that there are more great fights left in him. Peace!

Squared-Circle Real Talk (a.k.a. LionKing)

Que pasa EZ E and Tumbo? I believe this fight is actually being contested at a catch-weight of 143lbs, which is interesting considering it’s an WW eliminator bout. I’ve always liked and respected JMM, but am not one of his biggest fans. That said, he’s the more skilled counter-puncher and all-around boxer here, plus his timing is better. However, he’ll be 41 during this fight and Alvarado is the naturally bigger man with the height and reach advantages. I think Mike has to make it ugly and brawl in spots, while changing it up at times and using his range/distance to box from the outside. IMO… JMM will probably win the decision. But I have to keep supporting and rooting for our hometown hero from N. Denver. Mayo el mejor hombre ganar. Go “Mile High” Mike!!!

TUMBO Que Honda!! GOOD point. No, Alvarado isn’t as ‘safe’ a fight that many might think. Marquez is no “spring chicken” and age HAS TO a factor to consider. He might push Marquez to an extreme limit. Like I had said before, Marquez will not apply the pressure nor be as physically challenging as Provodnikov. Marquez will not wear down Alvarado with the same intensity, which means that it might be Alvarado bringing his own heat to the older fighter. Will his counter punching/combination accuracy be enough to hold off Alvarado. Alvarado might handle Juan Manuel’s punching power quite well and retaliate effectively down the stretch. The extra weight might be just the “extra” Mike needs to make the difference. Okay, Mike isn’t Bradley but.. Bradley was satisfied to win without making it a PHYSICALLY trying fight. I believe that by the midway point we will be enjoying an entertaining battle. Alvarado can’t out-box Marquez, he and his team know it, he’ll have to make Marquez fight at a brisk pace. Could be a good one, probably better than many expect. Orale pues, Carnal. Paz!!

“Jmm only has pac as an ATG achievement”. that’s no great achievement. IMO, Marquez had already defeated Pacquiao* three straight times. executing the BRUTAL and DEVASTATING KO Win was a predictable, albeit spectacular, way to end their rivalry.

Alvarado could or could not be a “safe” fight. Mike didn’t look to good making 140lbs any more. if he recaptures his previous crunching and grinding potency at 147lbs, he’s gonna create big problems (and opportunities) for the smaller Marquez. i agree. Alvarado was picked for a reason but i also think he’s being a bit underestimated. i think he figures to be very dangerous v. a 40-year-old Marquez whose remaining prime must be judged on a fight-by-fight basis. not only is he fighting at an advanced age, he’s competing at top levels v. bigger guys. that can’t go on for very long. that’s my only concern for Marquez.

Marquez looked too small v. Bradley whose not the biggest welter himself. Marquez is undersized at 147lbish. even 140lbs is pushing it but i would favor Marquez over the Garcia that unofficially lost to Herrera last week. the same Herrera who defeated Provodnikov who lost to Bradley. there are no “mandatories” for a 40-something Marquez. only missions. his Next mission is to add another strap to his mantle. try and stop him.

Alvarado much tougher matchup for a 40+ yr old Marquez than Rios was to Pacquaio. Hell any fighter at that age gets my respect just being in the ring.

Marquez still didn’t get back to porter who saying ok lets fight, guess he change his mind, no belt worth losing the legacy factor. Paulie and marquez would have been a fight worth watching. Paulie can also make 144lb.

Alvarado should have fought the fighter who broner fighting next both struggling fighters.

Hidalg0, you once call me wimp or similar because I posted using Anonymous.
But it was a honest mistake, if you close the page on a tablet it forget you name, you have to retype your name again. It’s wasn’t because I was posting other comments as you said. Honest. That for The tablets, as it’s doesn’t have that much memory, and the tablets typing are a hit and miss touch, and it will respelled word it think you have type of you forgot to double check before resending.
But on the other side they are a few who don’t care and don’t put a name so it’s called anonymous.

People are talking about marquez fighting Alvarado is B.S but nobody said nothing when Pacquiao went against Rios. T his is a legit fight. Good fight for both fighters. People just hate seeing aging warriors take a little step back. Same thing with Sergio Martinez these great fighters can fight whoever they want and I’ll watch them. They have nothing else to prove.

Marquez is tossing the dice every time he steps in v. a full-fledged welter that is not the feather-welter Pacquiao*. Marquez is fundamentally too small to be more than a live and potentially dangerous underdog v. any top-notch welter. it has to be an obliging, not-too-bright, and hard-charging welter to boot. otherwise, his little crocodile arms are too short to effectively master the distance and Marquez has never been a graceful stalker of elusive fighters. unless Alvarado obliges Marquez’s counter-punching style, I see Marquez being undersized and possibly outgunned v. Alvarado who will be healthier and stronger than the depleted Alvarado who was defeated by Ruslan.

There are some very good matches at 140, but Top Rank just uses a few matches that are available to them. It hurts boxing overall.

Alvarado gets hit way too much and too easily For a pin point counter puncher like Marquez.

Alvarado is finished after the 2 wars with Rios + the beating at the hands of provodnikov. His people are sacrificing him to marquez for a final payday

Ill go ahead and watch this fight. Alvarado is not a good boxer, he is a better brawler. But if he tries to brawl with Marquez he is gonna get stopped from the counters coming his way. Marquez will probably pull this one out. Unless Alvarado shows something he hasn’t before, Marquez will win. Well of course Marquez can get old, he is already showing signs of that. Still going with Marquez in this one though.

JMM is a guy that never had what it took to win the close fights. Pacquiao made him into a Hall of Fame caliber fighter. He owes everything to Pacquiao just as Mayweather owes everything to De La Hoya. Both guys were zeros before Pacquiao and De La Hoya came along.

This is a true fighter fan who know nothing about boxing. Pacquiao first became a valid boxer after drawing with Marquez.

Public Enemy

The mega fight between Mayweather and Pacquiao was all setup to happen for March 13, 2010. It was considered a done deal by most with both fighters agreeing on money, location and weight.

Unfortunately, when it came time to sign the contract Pacman suddenly had a fear of needles and refused Olympic style drug testing.

After about a week of media criticism the majority of fans seemed to forgive Manny and debunked any speculation that he may be using performance enhancers.

Now we’re all left wondering why he would let random drug testing come between the biggest pay day of his life. Is he really that freaked out by needles, is he using an illegal substance, or was he simply ducking the toughest challenge of his career?

In two fights with Marquez, the final decision could have easily gone either way. Their first meeting in 2004 was ruled a draw, but take away the first round when Pacquiao knocked him down three times and you have a one-sided unanimous decision in the Mexican’s favor.

Their second meeting in 2008 was ruled a split decision for the Filipino, but once again the fight could have gone either way. It’s quite possible that the only reason this fight went in his favor was because he was the fan favorite and an emerging superstar in the sport of boxing. The judges may have had their opinions swayed by the crowd.

Since then Pacquiao has played it safe and avoided a third fight with the skilled Marquez.

It’s also worth mentioning that Floyd Mayweather fought the same Juan Manuel Marquez late last year and absolutely dominated him in every single round.

Floyd Mayweather gets an awful lot of criticism for his personal life, but Pacquiao is definitely no Angel either. Since he lives in the Philippines, not all of the details are leaked to the media like they would be in America, but it’s not too much of a stretch to assume he behaves similar to Tiger Woods when it comes to females.

He has been rumored to have numerous affairs and an ex-girlfriend has sued him in the past for violence and unpaid child support.
knockout losses to unknown boxers named Rustico Torrecampo and Medgoen Singsurat?

If you have no idea who those guys are, don’t worry. You’re not the only one.

Nobody can deny how great Manny Pacquiao looked against Oscar De La Hoya and Ricky Hatton. However, we can’t forget that Money May defeated both of them before Pacman ever stepped in the ring against either fighter.

When Mayweather beat them they were younger and more confident fighters.

Throughout the past few years, nobody has been under more scrutiny than Floyd Mayweather when it comes to hand-picking opponents. Why doesn’t anybody criticize Pacquiao for his carefully picked opponents?

If you carefully examine his record, you’ll notice he has avoided any pure boxers since his tough fights with Juan Manuel Marquez. The majority of his victories come from fighting slower and less talented brawlers than himself.

He avoided the biggest pay day of his life for a fight with Joshua Clottey? Come on man!

There was NO full contact in Bruce Lee’s time…he favored full contact. Of course Lee wins, he breaks Pacman’s shin or knee.

Marquez has to fight someone…so he get’s an ‘easy’ fight. At his age no fight is easy.
Bradley vs Pacman….age does play a factor. 35-36 is real old for a fighter…at least back in 1 line of contender, deep talent pool days.
Styles make the fight…and Mayweather ‘got’ made so to say with the first Castillio fight, where I had Money winning easy. I never saw such a superball on coke movement as for the first six rounds. I did just love the 12th that he lost, because he stood and fought. Something, I’d never seen his father or uncle do.
Actually these ’8′ large weight classes that a belt was won….a belt in mini-weight classes…., no unification? is BS.

Armstrong won 3 of the 8 real classes…vs the then one and only world champ…not a belt holder. World of difference if one has all the belts or not…or just 1/4th or 1/2 of them.
Pac is/was good I hav nothing against him.

Anonymous my friend, I understand that Bruce Lee was quite an iconic figure that was a very inspirational man. He frequently participated in many spectacular exhibitions. I was and still am a big fan of his. Manny Pacquiao has so many similarities. As a matter of fact, Manny looks up to the legendary martial artist. I merely brought up the possibility of Manny Pacquiao fighting Bruce Lee in a imaginary fight. I know this would never happen, but the mere thought peeked my interest. I without bias went into deep thought about this match up and came up with a conclusion. Manny destroys him and hits Bruce Lee with his own one inch punch and sends him 20 feet down the road. Manny is faster, stronger and is a trained fighter. Manny is one of those rare breed of fighters that defeats any fighter in any era. And Manny Pacquiao actually started this breed. This is a man that will undoubtedly be studied for his extraordinary skills in the art of fighting. Manny Pacquiao could have dominated any sport he chose to be involved in. He’s a great athlete, and his intelligence inside and outside is incredible to see. Remember when he slowly dissected and destroyed another great fighter, Miguel Cotto or how about Oscar De La Hoya. This is greatness in the flesh. 8 division champion is unheard of in any sport. Imagine Bruce Lee moving up 8 weight classes? Impossible to do, and Many did the impossible. I won’t even mention his other accomplishments, which I have mentioned in previous posts. Manny is a Marvel when it comes to the sweet science. There has never been a fighter that can match Manny’s reign of terror as he fought and not only beat, but devastated an army of great fighters. Morales, Barrera, Marquez, Hatton, Diaz, Cotto, De La Hoya and Margarito. There was mass hysteria as the accumulation of bodies left the squared circle after having stepped into the ring with Manny Pacquiao. Today, the legend is just as popular and as effective as he was back in 2009. The brilliant, strategic boxing exhibition he displayed against Brandon Rios was one for the ages. No one in the history of this great sport has ever been able to change from a destructive, aggressive, power punching monster to a poetic, graceful, strategically brilliant, technically sound pure boxer like Manny Pacquiao did. Once again, this was greatness right in front of our eyes. Macau China is still reeling with amazement and appreciation for Manny Pacquiao. Los Angeles has been feverishly insisting that Manny Pacquiao continue to train in the city of angels for one more week. The Los Angeles Times has been following Manny almost on a minute to minute basis. Las Vegas is rolling out more than one red carpet just in case Manny comes from another direction. Sin City is alive and well, and eagerly anticipating their favorite son’s return. The greatest fighter that has ever lived will be put on display for the world to see on April 12th. My tickets were bought the first day. This is the most historic fight in boxing history. I will be watching live a man that will never be duplicated again. Manny Pacquiao will win his title back in dominating fashion. Trust me on this. Manny is the best.

Of course Manny Pacquiao would beat Bruce Lee ..Bruce Lee was an actor ,, an actor that knew mix arts ..but the bottom line is that Bruce Lee was an actor first and a trainer second ,Bruce Lee ( God bless his soul ) never really enter a sanction tournament ,,he never fought a referee mix martial arts fight . Experts don’t know if he was a bad fighter or if he was a good fighter ,because he was never in a sanction fight ,,

Pac Fights

That is not correct, Pacquiao fought Marquez four times, a fighter that is difficult for him style wise, doesn’t avoid fighters, he tried to knockout Marquez out in the fourth fight and got caught, it happens, he is still very well respected by the fight fans and everyone looks forward to his next fights. Most fans don’t have that knockout ingrained on their memories, same as any great fighter who has been knocked out, you don’t just the fight when the fighter got knocked out.
