curtis is alright. he beats kirkland. i like a quillen vs. stevens match.Posted April 2, 2014 1:35 am
Luke: “I’m not sure whether Kirkland don’t want it!,” but I’d definitely like to see the fight live! Kirkland’s pressure and tenacity vs. Stevens’ power and self-confidence is a great style contrast that has fireworks written all over it. Though JK has virtually no experience at MW, I wouldn’t count him out.
The X-factors for me would be (1) how Kirkland’s beard holds up to a flush shot from “Showtime” and (2) Ann Wolfe’s ability to bring out the best in James particularly if he’s caught with something early (e.g., as in his fights with Angulo and Ishida). From my conversation with Curtis, a scrap with Kirkland is a fight that he DEFINITELY wants ASAP.
Slim: I don’t foresee CS chopping off his beard as a harbinger of a poor performance vs. Johnson. From what I witnessed, Stevens appeared in shape, focused, and ready to fight Johnson over the weekend if Main Events would let him do it.
Anonymous: I’m not sure if Money May is ducking the Texan or the dollars simply don’t make $ense for that fight. If the Mandingo Warrior were to beat a guy like Stevens, however, it would strengthen his case for a showdown with boxing’s cash cow.Posted April 2, 2014 1:15 am

Why is Mayweather ducking Kirkland?Posted April 1, 2014 6:04 pm
Love watching Curtis fight! Best of luck this weekend and beyond. I hope shaving the beard doesn’t have a ‘Samson’ effect on him.Posted April 1, 2014 12:57 pm
