Weirdly enough, Tszyu was like Mike Tyson in one respect, but for a different reason.
Tszyu loved to fight runners… But where Tyson loved to chase boxers back and rip them from close quarters—Tszyu would catch boxers backing off on the end of his straight right handers … and just knock them flat..
Tszyu hated to fight brawlers.. He didn’t have an inside game and that’s the only thing Hatton could do.
Tszuy even had trouble with crude Oktay Urkal, who was another brawler. Remember that fight? Urkal stayed on KT and Tszyu barely won what should have been an easy title defense.
Although Hatton wasn’t close to being as good a fighter as Tszyu was, styles still make fights. Hatton had the perfect style to do well versus Kostya.Posted April 5, 2014 1:27 am

Garcia found his range and timing inside 4 rounds, Floyd would end Khan in two but I imagine Floyd would hold him up until the later rounds showing off.
Hatton was lucky sharing a ring with him, because if Collazo sold seats, it should of and would of been him in there.
I loved watching Hatton because he loved the game, but he was lucky to even share a ring with Floyd and Pacquiao.
P4P prime, Kostya would have smashed him to pieces.Posted April 4, 2014 9:26 pm
I’m not on your case Sweet Science. I’m just laying out the facts … His name is Muhammad Ali Sweet Science. Have some respect and learn how to spell it.
You’re delusional if you think a veritable punching bag who couldn’t protect himself adequately…got beaten up by a 7-fight pro… by a short fat walk-in left hooker… and by an uncoordinated blooper punching actor before he was 32 year old… could hold a candle to the best defender in the history of the game and the undisputed GOAT — who just happens to be 37-years-old and still undefeated after 23 World Championship Fights in 5 weight divisions across 16 years … and who made over 86 million dollars in his last fight.

TARK, You’re an idiot!Posted April 4, 2014 2:38 pm
Sweet Science says.., “Floyd would have been as big as Ali if he fought Pac.”
Floyd is bigger than Ali was, GTFOOH… Ali didn’t defend himself as well, and had no body attack or infighting skills. Ali lacked versatility. Ali didn’t have Floyd’s consistency, overall game, overall mastery, or Floyd’s training habits. Ali put on up to 40 pounds between fights.
After Floyd’s fight with Marcos he’ll have made 130-million in pay for fights in the last year… That’s another record. Any athlete who has made more money than Floyd got it from endorsements … not competing in their sport.
When Ali was younger than Floyd he registered his 3rd loss, to 6-0-1 Leon Spinks… Ali was only fighting Spinks because he didn’t want to fight Larry Holmes—who was a super great boxer.
Ali was dead broke when he came back and fought Holmes, only so he could climb out of poverty — how much credit do you give him for that??? Ali was great…I’m not knocking Ali… but let’s look at the facts. Just be objective about the facts.
I understand Floyd is ducking Pacquiao. I see that. Floyd didn’t invent ducking — they all did it. Floyd might even fight Pacquiao. He’ll be an old man—but it won’t be another Ali-Holmes fun fest. It could be the greatest fight of all time—we don’t know right now. Pac has to beat Tim first to prove himself worthy.
Floyd is possibly hoping Pac wins — he does like money, and that fight will make more than any in history.Posted April 4, 2014 12:42 pm

Tark Kahn is a bum with a glass jaw, what speed advantage? Hell he didn’t even see Danny Garcia landing and lights out. He put a mere to sleep so what do you think Floyd who is 10 times better will do. Manny gets Stopped by a 70 year old Marquez and you think he has the goods to beat Floyd? No one has been able to crack the safe and certainly no one with losses there is no blueprint. Kahn got his ass whopped by Peterson as well he hasn’t earned a shot, Madiana on the other hand has won 4 in a row not to mentionPosted April 4, 2014 1:48 am
TARK – Floyd is an amazing fighter, one of the best of all time in his weight division. Not fighting Pacqioau is gonna come up whenever they mention Floyd. As a fan I believe he should have fought Pacqioau and if he had to fight him in the Phillipines. Win or lose he would have been as big as Mohamed Ali if he did that and its not to late.Posted April 4, 2014 12:34 am
Floyd even had a illustration done of him blasting out Khan, and posted it to the Internet.Posted April 3, 2014 11:48 pm
Sweet Science.., “Khan has the speed advantage and I dont think Fraud could hurt him.”
Please… Floyd can hit hard enough. Floyd would kill this punk and stop him within 7 rounds. Most ranking welterweights Floyd could NOT stop, but Khan’s defense is defective — and he has no idea how to clinch, so he runs.
Floyd would LOVE this fight… It been a while since Floyd could track somebody down and blast them out. He can look like a hero, and that’s why he keeps coming back to this fight.Posted April 3, 2014 11:46 pm

Who you guys kidding, Fraud is using Khan to get more viewers. If Khan looks like the Khan of 2010 and better Fraud will duck him lol. Fraud is not gonna risk a loss. Like I said Fraud ducks Khan if Khan looks good against Collazo.Posted April 3, 2014 7:32 pm
Note to Ricky Hatton …
(a) You didn’t beat Collazo … the judges gave you that victory
(b) Khan doesn’t deserve any fights with anybody
Garcia — who knocked out Khan — deserves Mayweather more than Khan.
Peterson — who beat Khan — deserves Mayweather more than Khan.
If Hatton doesn’t like it he should get out of the pub, get back in the ring, and fight some of these guys … oh wait … Hatton tried that and lost in pathetic fashion.Posted April 3, 2014 7:20 pm

…. Floyd Mayweather …. HaHa Chump!Posted April 3, 2014 7:00 pm
50 Cent’s word is it then?
Floyd fights champs, while Arum’s fighters fight each other in-house.
Don’t bring 50-Cent into the equation whilst questioning a five-weight-world-champ who does the business at 37 years of age because you just make yourself look like a clown.
What average fighter did Floyd last face coming off a decent win?Posted April 3, 2014 6:35 pm
The thought by the promoters is, “Collazo can’t fight.” … “He’s the perfect opponent.”
Collazo knows what his role is in this matchup… His role is to make Khan look like a reasonable opponent for Floyd. His role is to make Khan look sensational.
That realization should piss Luis off enough so he comes in ready to smoke Khan and send the Floyd-Khan fight up in smoke. If I were Collazo I would be perfectly pissed off—and attack Khan like a MFer for 12 rounds—or for as long as Khan holds on… Collazo should be mad as Hell that they picked him to showcase a loser like Khan.
I would try to knock Khan out — even though I’m not an attacker of a big puncher. Julio Diaz damned near turned the trick of putting Khan away… but you can actually do it if you adopt an attitude.Posted April 3, 2014 6:10 pm
Beating Collazo a gatekeeper should not put Khan anywhere near Mayweather. Khan needs to take on Broner first.Posted April 3, 2014 5:56 pm
The only DESERVING person for a MAYTWITTER fight is PACMAN!!!! We’ve been waiting over 4 years now for FLOYD to MAN TFU, and he still hasn’t. What will it take…
If he agrees, there will still be more hoops for Pacman to jump thru…. And people are still chiding that Floyd’s not scared??!?!!?
In the immortal words of 50 cent… “I smell ****y”..Posted April 3, 2014 5:55 pm
Hatton is now a promoter…
His deal is building up UK fighters and bringing big fights to the UK. He likes the fact that he is asked for his “expert” opinion and he likes the ink and publicity.. After 3 years in retirement he lined up a fight. Ricky had plenty of money but he missed the action and excitement of the fight ballyhoo and arena.. It was worth the risk of getting his ass kicked, which is what happened.
Now he’s asked whether Khan deserves a Mayweather fight… It’s like asking an employee whether he deserves a salary increase.
Collazo is nobody from nowhere, and beating him doesn’t put Khan in line for a Mayweather fight.. Hopefully he won’t even win.. Erislandy Lara has a stoppage of Angulo and a much more impressive shutout of Austin Trout.. a fighter who would pound Collazo like nobody’s business.Posted April 3, 2014 5:45 pm
hang on if he beats brook or thurman who, let’s face ,it while they look good have not been tested at the very top he would be good enough for a shot yet, by beating an ex champ and still a decent enough fighter who would give brook and thurman a very tough time, he does not?!?!? how does that work, sorry bill you’ve just lost my interest in your opinion. i do agree that if he avenged the loss to garcia, which is very likely he could if he stuck to his strengths i think this would be an easy night for khan.Posted April 3, 2014 5:37 pm
@BLITZ hmmm… I agree & said very same thing on another thread about a week ago. It’s obvious that Floyd WANTED the Khan fight and probably STILL does. The ONLY reason Floyd reneged on the “results” of his OWN bogus “poll” was because of the outcry of the fans. I’m sure that even Showtime was against it basically because it wasn’t in the best interest of their investment.Posted April 3, 2014 5:36 pm
If khan wins well I think the fight will happen. I don’t think it should nor do I think khan deserves it but it’s the sort of fight Mayweather always takes an average fighter coming of a good winPosted April 3, 2014 5:30 pm
Mayweather isn’t fighting Khan. Just read fan comments to understand that a Collazo win means zip and Mayweather can’t sell that fight to no one and CBS ain’t buying that one.
A win over Collazo makes him WBA International Champ?
Even the “journalists” on here that tried to sell the Mayweather/Khan fight over Maidana the champ have finally realised the fans are onto them on here.Posted April 3, 2014 5:22 pm
That’s the hole idea of khan fighting on the card. If he wins he gets the Mayweather fight. He don’t deserve it but for some reason Mayweather seems almost obsessed as khan about the fight. Maybe he thinks easy fight good money.Posted April 3, 2014 5:13 pm
So many fighters deserve the shot at 147/154 and I am sick of fans being taken for tnucs by two-bob journalists on the take throwing Khan into the mix.
Mayweather, who is often accused of cherry-picking knows himself he couldn’t get away with fighting this chump without a belt or any big wins at the weight and Khan is no test whatsoever.
Floyd dumps Khan inside 2 rounds and then gets booed out of the arena.
Arum controls Bradley and his next 3 fights are already done as are Pacquiao’s next two.
Arum has to rebuild Bradley after this Bradley/Pacquiao charade and both will fight nobodies after their fight before meeting for their 3rd “super-fight.
Garcia needs a couple of fights at 147lbs and Thurman needs a couple more as well.
Floyd will jump back to 154lbs after Maidana.
Khan’s gravy train is over and no amount of “tweeting” is gonna see him in with Floyd.
The real question is who does Floyd fight at 154lbs?Posted April 3, 2014 5:09 pm
Bradley definitely deserves the fight against Floyd, at the moment he is the most deserving. Thurman needs a couple of more fights before he is ready in my opinion, Garcia doesn’t want the Floyd fight right now and Ruslan well he still needs to earn it also. At least at 147 he does.Posted April 3, 2014 4:53 pm
If Khan deserves a fight against Floyd, then what about Bradley, Thurman, Danny Garcia, Provo…just to name a few? Khan has done nothing but show the world that he has a glass chin and is just one punch away to being ko in each fight.Posted April 3, 2014 4:24 pm
Hatton deserves to go back to rehab and get off that white $h!t.Posted April 3, 2014 4:07 pm
Will he have beat a young decent live opponent with a world title?
Absolute nonsense!Posted April 3, 2014 4:05 pm
No he doesn’t.Posted April 3, 2014 3:49 pm
iamlegndary_j – I wouldnt never write Collazo off … he is old-school and a fighter to be respected – but i expect a points win for Khan. Collazo has the better chin and probably the bigger punch, but Khan is faster and probably the more skilled. Khan will be the betting-favourite and Vegas odds-makers are rarely wrong. I was a Hatton fan when he was active but i believed Collazo beat him … so there is no under-rating Collazo from my perspective. I think the style match-up suits Khan more than it suits Collazo. Collazo may have his moments against Khan but Khan wins.Posted April 3, 2014 3:01 pm
Fans pay to watch the fights. So that is actually a pretty good move. Ever heard a boxer claim he was the peoples champ?Posted April 3, 2014 2:36 pm
khan deserved the fight anyway,,i think floyd said he`d let the fans decide??? what kind of a cheap move is that?Posted April 3, 2014 2:33 pm
Khan fast and can score a knock down body punch, maidana would say that right. A fast and long arm fighter khan brings.
Or Floyd could go fight porter if he win and collect porter belt, or he could fight thurmam.
Canelo was chasing him and that was a fight the public wanted to see and he got the fight.Posted April 3, 2014 1:45 pm
This is more proof that Hatton took too many shots during his career.Posted April 3, 2014 1:28 pm
There are much tougher and more deserving fighters out there. Guys who would be ligitimate threats to Floyd, such as Lara and Pac.
Therefore, Floyd should fight them before facing Khant.Posted April 3, 2014 1:10 pm
Author- Collazo was also there to make sure Victor Ortiz got back on track. And you could argue he beat both Hatton and Berto. I was at the Boston garden for Hatton vs Collazo (it was hatton’s first US fight, if I’m not mistaken), and the Garden had a VERY tense atmosphere as Hatton just couldn’t seem to figure out the man. This isn’t just a gimme fight for Khan. Collazo is bigger than him, he can take a punch, he can punch a little bit and he can box.Posted April 3, 2014 1:06 pm
Why does it seem Mayweather prefers to be chased down by fighters for a fight and never fighting them? The only fighter that chased him down and got the fight ( and lost) was Hatton! Think about his last few matches – none of them were the fight the public wanted to see, and none were chasing them down like pacquiao or kahn. However, in my opinion Kahn does not deserve the fight. He hasnt been at welterweight and he does have that susceptible chin. There are others that deserve it more and make a better fight. (Malinaggi, Bradley, MArquez [stronger at welter now], pacquiao, provodnikov, collazo)Posted April 3, 2014 12:37 pm
I think Khan has a very difficult night ahead, and I’m not sure he will come out on top.
People need to stop with this lucky punch garbage. He was punching with Khan, there was no lucky punch. And yeah he was lobbying for a Floyd fight a couple of years ago but what happened? He lost. He needs to pay attention to the fight he is signed for, not the fight he wants. And if he was to rematch Maidana the person you say he almost knocked out I bet Khan gets KOd. Apparently your memory is short because Maidana almost KOd Khan. Beating Collazo shouldn’t get you a fight with Floyd, Floyd needs to stick with the top fighters of the division.Posted April 3, 2014 12:19 pm
You guys have short memory. Khan already beat Maidana convincingly and almost knocked him out! He beat Mallinagi, Judah, Barrera and was a front runner for the Mayweather fight 2 years ago. I love Danny Garcia, but i think he might loose a rematch. He was getting handled easily until a lucky punch to the side of the neck landed. Khan has speed, skills, and power. And a pretty good chin. He got caught by a puncher! collazo is good, but he’s not in the same class. Ortiz was also getting to him before he got caught. Collazo thinks he’s a name, but he’s a gate keeper. collazo and Mallinagi would be good, or after he looses feed him to judahPosted April 3, 2014 11:49 am
Neil (pomy) What reason would that be? Because Khan has a bigger name? That doesn’t necessarily equate to success my man. Collazo is one up on Khan in every aspect with the exception of age and hand speed. You, along with Khan, will be in for a rude awakening.Posted April 3, 2014 11:34 am
… and by the way …. you don’t need to ask ESB to write for them. Just write an article and submit to them … they will put it up in a matter of hours.Posted April 3, 2014 11:26 am
You don’t know what you are talking about …. Collazo is to be respected but Khan will be the betting favourite for a very good reason. Most logic would suggest a points win for Khan.Posted April 3, 2014 11:19 am
Man, these ESB writers are actually funny. They have some of the most biased opinions I have ever seen. Have they ever seen Luis Collazo fight before? He’s lost ALL of his big fights? If anything, he’s only lost ONE of his big fights and that was against Shane Mosley. I had him defeating both, Hatton and Berto respectfully. He was controlling the Mosley fight until he injured his thumb. I can imagine it being difficult to punch with full force if your thumb is injured. But whatever, another ESB writer who has lost credibility. The likelyhood of Khan defeating Collazo is slim. He’s facing a fighter with a higher boxing IQ, better ring generalship, can probably match him in speed and has the advantage of experience on his side. I’ll make sure to find this writer once he beats Khan. As a matter of fact, I’m going to email ESB myself to see if I can start writing for their site, because the ish I’ve seen in the last three months has been absolutely horrible.Posted April 3, 2014 11:01 am
