And what did I all tell you before… morons whom ever bought to watch that fight… anyway HW division is a joke, im getting really tired of boxing these days… this fight was comparable to me going to an elementary school picking up on a kid a lot smaller than me and smacking him at will.. @TurboBox.., Briggs would get slaughtered by Wladimir… That’s a real joke fight.
Briggs will not beat anyone in the top 10. He’s about 41 and several years ago versus Sultan Ibragimov (who managed a draw with Ray Austin), he could barely win a round and was punched silly all night.. He’s no doubt even slower now.
Jameel McCline 6″7″ X 265, looked like a speedster fighting Briggs.. Briggs might have won a single round and was decked hard.. Wladimir won every round vs McCline before knocking him out.Posted April 25, 2014 1:22 am
First time ere – yes I would like to stop this fight as we all know Wlad will take Leapai out in 2-5 rounds, he is simply too short, too slow to pose any thread to Wlad. It reminds me of Vitali vs Adamek fight, look what happened. After all boxing thrives because we as fans buy the tickets and PPV. This is the fight I will not be watching, all simply because Wlad has already won hands down. Give me a good entertaining fight. Wlad vs Briggs would be a good show. The dude ( Briggs ) is serious, coming down from balloon 350lbs to at around 250ls, ripped, height 6’4 would be a nice match up. Look at this video, Wlad is clearly aware of Briggs, he simply did not have the guts to approach Briggs instead he was singing song ‘ calm down Briggs ‘ and did you notice when Briggs told Leapai you are a target practice he ( Leapai ) did nothing… he saw big ripped, explosive Briggs and got intimidated right there, his mentality alone tells me he ( Leapai ) got him self in a dark whole which he cannot escape… To all funs, boycott this fight, DO NOT buy PPV nor any tickets. I can tell you Wlad has already won.Posted April 24, 2014 10:43 pm

ya all don’t know what you are talking about, Briggs was right about Leapai he is a target practice for Wladimir, fights like that should not happen in heavy weight division… as for Briggs he is a decent threat to anyone in hw division, when he was out of shape and fought with one hand Vitali could not knock him out… now Briggs is in shape and has monster knockout power, this would be a LOT more entertaining fight if Wladimir fought Briggs!Posted April 24, 2014 7:28 pm

“Klitschko-Povetkin was far from the worst heavyweight fight ever fought… Ali and Evangelista shared the Nobel Peace Prize for Promoting Non-Violence in Boxing.” — Chris Byrd vs DaVarryl Williamson was the worst ever. For that matter add any Chris Byrd or Johnny Ruiz title fight. People forget the years before the Klitschko Bros took over were the worst ever fights. By comparison all of Wlad’s bouts have fireworks.Posted April 24, 2014 5:53 pm
With the chaos about to erupt in Ukraine Waldo’s got a perfect excuse for losing this fight when the Samoan dude lands one of his roundhouse haymakers on the weakest chinned HW champion since Big John Tate. The only thing entertaining about some of Ali’s fights were he got hit as much or more than many of his opponents in some of them.. Certainly the Norton fights.
The first Ali-Frazier fight was interesting because every time they swung they landed. It was pretty brutal. Their 2nd fight was a grab-fest. Their 3rd fight was a slogging affair that featured a very tubby Ali beating the life out of a completely shot, immobile, and horribly fat Frazier.
Ali-Foreman featured a raw swinger in miserable condition trying to KO a boxer who was in very good condtion.. It was amateur hour for Foreman who came into camp weighing 275, was cut very badly over the eye in sparring, and couldn’t spar while the cut healed … and hadn’t gone past 2 rounds in 3 years on fight night.
Liston was lame for Clay in Miami… He fought with a torn left biceps… The commission brought in 7 different doctors to verify the issue that stopped the fight.. The fight was dead even on the cards at the stoppage — even though Liston couldn’t punch with his left for the final round.Posted April 23, 2014 11:54 pm
Vince McMann in full effect. I think he should be the new promoter for boxing! WWE, WWF, now Boxing! Yeah! Lets get this circus started!!!!!Posted April 23, 2014 9:24 pm
Alis biggest fights were all entertaining.
The first Liston fight , the Terrell fight , all three Frazier fights ( the second was the least exiting , Ali actually fought that one in more of a Wlad type style . A LOT of clinching allowed in that fight ) , the Foreman fight and the Norton fights . All were entertaining.
Nobody in their right mind could argue that Wlad vs Pot was possibly the most boring , least entertaining big heavyweight fight in history. You would have to go back to the 1930s when Sharkey , Carnera , Braddock , Schmeling and Baer were ” duelling for the crown “to find such dull battles for the undisputed heavyweight title ( I count Vitali as retired ) .Posted April 23, 2014 7:34 pm
like Wlad vs Potevkin , Tark .
Name on of Ali’s major fights pre Manilla that was as boring as Wlad vs Pot.

Tark, I disagree, Klitschko Chisora wasn’t painful to watch. Only problem with that fight honestly is that Derek wasn’t busier. he worked his way in and would only land a body blow here & there. Never really put punches together and had the stamina to work the inside. Vitali did what he had to do to get the decision. Wasn’t the greatest fight in the world but I wouldn’t put that in the snoozefest category. Yeah I do agree Tyson/Smith was boring with a capial BOR, but that was ALL Bonecrusher smith’s fault. He did Nothing but Hug that entire fight. had ZERO interest in fighting Tyson. I honestly suspect James probably bet a significant amount of money he’d make it to round 12. At least that’s how he fought.Posted April 23, 2014 6:58 pm
Briggs would not beat Leapai… AL would be too fast for him.. just like he was too fast for super slow Boytsov..
Iggy Brag punched the sh!t out of Briggs about 6 or 7 years ago. Iggy was only fast enough to draw with Ray Austin.Posted April 23, 2014 5:36 pm

Longrob.., You have the brains of a barstool. You can only work with the referee you’ve got.
Wladimir was a Ukrainian fighting a Russian in the capital of Russia. Povetkin was a Olympian Gold Medal winner for Russia fighting for the Unified Heavyweight Championship. Wladimir had to be as careful as possible in that situation, so that nothing came close to going sideways.
Four knockdowns and an overwhelmingly dominant win for a 37-year-old champion wasn’t a bad outcome for that situation. It was better than Ali-Evangelista, Tyson-Smith, Lewis-Mavrovic, Holyfield-Bean, or Klitschko-Chisora — five fights were virtually nothing at all happened. At least he got Povetkin going a couple times. The man had never been down and he’s a survivor.
Wladimir’s fights sell out. They don’t all have to have additions to his career hightlight film. The Leapai fight should be a little more free-wheeling.Posted April 23, 2014 3:59 pm
Is Briggs trying to base himself on Mr T from Rocky? How lame. Shameless considering his brother nearly beat him to death.Posted April 23, 2014 3:38 pm

Posted April 23, 2014 9:24 am
Agree. That waste of human breath HAYE sullied the sport of boxing with his pathetic attempts to rile the Klitschkos and it’s a shame Vitali didn’t get a chance to club him to a pulp. Just like his mate Khan he’d rather cheat his way into a title shot than earn it. Fitting that Wlad beat him so bad that his toe felt it. We may even get a repeat as HAYE is 70:30 whether he will return.
I would guess he’d either go straight in with Wlad or look for a soft touch and then jump the queue to dip his #toe back in the waters and rematch Wlad.
Wladimir the Wise
My friends, my fellow fight fans, WLADIMIR KLITSCHKO, THE HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION OF THE WORLD and, of course, one of the ALL-TIME GREAT HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONS, is Primed and Ready to put on a Masterclass of High Calibre and Rarified World Championship Boxing on Saturday night…Alex Leapai is a valiant, deserving and courageous challenger, but he will discover on Saturday night just how good Wladimir, a.k.a Dr Steelhammer, really is. With an Astounding, Astonishing and Truly Amazing Win-Loss Fight Record of 61-3, Wladimir Klitschko, The Fighting Lion of Kiev, Ukraine, will throw heavy punches in bunches, cause Consternation with his CONCUSSIVE combinations, throw THUNDEROUS Tremendous Right Crosses, his Left Hook will Land on Leapai like a Sledgehammer never mind a Steelhammer and his Piston-like Precise Pole of a Left Jab will soften up the Samoan for a mid-rounds finish. My friends, WLADIMIR is The KING of Boxing, the RULER OF BOXING’s PREMIER and FLAGSHIP DIVISION. He is the Emperor, the Caesar AND the Czar of Boxing…the Baddest Man Alive in other words…WLADIMIR KLITSCHKO, along with his Equally Illustrious and Esteemed elder brother Vitali the Longtime WBC Heavyweight champion, has Dominated and is still Dominating the Heavyweight Division. Wladimir is unbeaten in 10 years, has Unified Virtually All Legitimate HW Titles and has beaten and OUTCLASSED a Deep Field full of Highly Trained World Class Boxing Talent From Across The Globe…he schooled Axel Schulz, he bowled over Monte Barrett, he bewildered and befuddled Chris Byrd twice, he destroyed Derrick Jefferson, he finished Frans Botha, he marmalized Ray Mercer and Jameel McCline, he panned Samuel ‘The Nigerian Nightmare’ Peter a couple of times, he cut down Calvin Brock, he anihilated Ray Austin, he belted Lamon Brewster, he supremely outscored Sultan Ibragimov, he tormented and terrorized Tony Thompson two times, he hammered Hasim Rahman, he clobbered Ruslan Chagaev and Eddie Chambers, he danced and delighted as he dominated and disposed of the pretender David Haye, he mowed down Jean Marc Mormeck, he pounded Francesco Pianeta, he whacked Maruisz Wach and he produced a scintillating performance against Alexander Povetkin…My friends and fellow fight fans, it was apparent early on to Astute and Knowledgeable Fight Watchers that Wladimir was headed for Super Stardom and GREATNESS as he Won Olympic Super Heavyweight Gold in 1996 at the young age of 20…he SEEMLESSLY made the Transition from Amateur Excellence to Professional Dominance, as is the Hallmark of an ELITE Boxing Talent…My friends, my people, Wladimir Klitschko is a BOXER WITHOUT COMPARE, a FIGHTER WITHOUT EQUAL and a LARGER THAN LIFE GLOBAL ICON OF THE SPORT….WLADIMIR KLITSCHKO is, quite simply,THE BEST.Posted April 23, 2014 12:14 pm

I have to agree with Mo-Box. Briggs has done nothing to merit a title shot, but there are a lot of young heavies out there looking to move up. More boxing and less bluster might get him to Klitschko, although the last time he met one, he ended up in the hospital. Briggs was a good fighter in his day, but this sort of stunt is beneath him.Posted April 23, 2014 9:18 am
Longrob: and you think it was all Wlad’s fault when the man in front of you comes in head first swinging hard like wanting to give you a blowjob while hit you in the head? Both men were to blame with their styles matchup and Wlad was annoyed with Pov’s head-first-swing approach as hell – he got a point deducted because he at one point just throw him off of him. Takes two to tango. Pov and Iggy fights are two stinkers on his resume, but name me a dominating champ who hasn’t had a stinker during career? A win is a win, even if it’s ugly it’s lightyears better than a loss.Posted April 23, 2014 8:37 am
Briggs is a just a low-blowing thug for boxing community, if he really wants to “save the boxing” he should do this thuggish calling out to contenders protecting their “0-s”, who refuse to fight each other. Briggs would make a good test for many top 20-30 contenders. Most of top 10 HWs would probably brutalize him beyond repair, better to avoid those guys for his own good.Posted April 23, 2014 8:29 am

As much as i was repulsed by Wlad’s last fight vs Pov,i still admire his discipline and consummate professionalism,i mean,it must have taken an enormous amount of self control to not get up and punch Briggs repeatedly in his loud, obnoxious mouth,i don’t think most people would have maintained that level of control, and this is part of what makes Wlad hard to beat, his relentless discipline,to his conditioning, his preparation, his execution of the gameplan. If you look at some of the great HWs that list fights they really should have won, many times it was due to laziness, mental or physical,in those aspects mentioned,so while not all of us may like Wlads current style of fighting,he should be applauded for his vigilance in remaining champPosted April 23, 2014 2:02 am
Povetkin was an Undefeated Heavyweight Champion, Olympic Gold Medal winner, and 10 year professional who had never been knocked down in his life.
Wladimir put him down 4 times but AP was determined to survive. Wladimir actually did a good job against a stinker of a survivor. Wladimir got angry at his tactics and tried some rough stuff, but had a point taken for a throw down.
An ugly win is better than a pretty loss anytime.

Amazing how Wanna B T’s outburst actually had Leapai and Wlad standing shoulder to shoulder in solidarity against him.
Leapai showed class in refusing to find amusement in Wanna B T.
Wanna B T even admitted he was copying Clubber’s script.

In a perfect world, Wanna B T would face Wilder for the right to face Wlad.

I think if Briggs had better cardio by way of not having asthma he would be a good and exciting heavyweight. But that is a big what if. Wlad i never know i am gonna get with him, sometimes i think he has it all together.. and then other times he has complete lapses in the ring that no one has taken advantage of lately. I thought the fight against Povetkin showed some decline in Wlad’s confidence and performance. I think Manny Steward helped him hold it all together. Wlad might be ripe for the picking soon, or he may improve. He abolutely should have knocked Povetkin out, all that holding was completely unneccesary. He could have spent that energy throwing basic 1-2′ jab right hand combo’s and the fight would have been over.Posted April 23, 2014 12:08 am

Shannon Briggs knows he can’t beat anybody good. That’s why he’s on the bum circuit… He barely beat a 49-year-old George Foreman. He got KO’d in 3 rounds by Darrol Wilson… KO’d in 5 rounds by Lennox Lewis..
Then he gained 50lbs of PED enhanced muscle before losing every round to Jameel McCline and getting knocked flat on his back. Jameel McCline then lost every round to Wladimir Klitschko before he got KO’d in the 10th or 11th I can’t remember.. That was 11 years ago and made Wladimir’s record 41-1, I remember that.
In Briggs’ most recent title fight he lost every round to Sultan Ibragimov — who then lost every round to Wladimir Klitschko.. Briggs’ hasn’t beaten a good fighter since he fought a highly compromised Sergei Liakhovich, who shouldnt have been fighting that night, because he had 2 serious injuries and couldn’t even spar in preparation for the fight. Ask his trainer at the time, Kenny Weldon about that, because Sergei should have been in a hospital not a boxing ring.
So you see Briggs’ Mr. T act. That’s what it is. He’s an actor. He’s had actors’ training and does acting gigs. He wants a title shot without earning it because he knows it means a lot of money. But knows he probably won’t get it, so he does this is for publicity to pump up his fights and get his name out there. He could have easily been arrested and jailed for disturbing the peace.
He pushes it as far as he can. If he saw the cops coming he would beat a retreat quickly, shouting that the whole proceeding was boring him stiff and he was taking his charisma elsewhere, to more deserving people.Posted April 22, 2014 10:11 pm

Stand corrected with the point that Shannon hasn’t been in the ring for 4 years. Apparently Briggs is taking the “Deontay Wilder, fights scrubs and become a contender” approach. I just noticed within a week he has fought a old school Telephone repairman & an a fat factory worker who moonlight’s as a cab driver to make ends meet. He scored 2 quick 1st round ko’s. The only good thing is that a low key defence will get many more column inches and interest from outside the boxing world.Posted April 22, 2014 4:09 pm

Wow, that was coming from nowhere! I mean I must say that I was very suprised that any recognised heavyweight fighter would show up there and dissrespectfully calling out the champ Wladimir Klitschko like that and even less to see the former 2-time world heavyweight champion Shannon “The Cannon” Briggs do that!
I mean that was just a cheap low blow from Briggs and all he accomplished was to make a fool of himself. I feel sorry for him. I mean on what reason did he think he had to go all the way over seas to Europe and Germeny to crash a world title fight press conference like that.
He was just for no reason making this crash.
Just watched back the lennox lewis V Shannon briggs, lol, he did what vitali couldn’t do, and put him on the canvas …. twice … ahhh I enjoyed watching that !Posted April 22, 2014 3:29 pm
Shannon ‘the loose cannon’ Briggs …. what a total loser !Posted April 22, 2014 3:08 pm
Vitali sent Briggs to German Hospital where Hospital drained his bank account. Briggs should apply for ObamaCare right now, so he will have it when Wlad sends him back to the Hospital. Good HW Scene promotion Briggs. He must have taken his inhaler just before is outrage. Beclamethisone.Posted April 22, 2014 2:34 pm
Is it really that surprising? Briggs is just chasing a big payday, and lets be honest,he has about as much right to challenge Wlad as Leapai,Pianetta etc,ie,none at all,HW boxing is a bit of a joke,Wlad it’s a consummate pro,in an era of lazy cream puffsPosted April 22, 2014 2:29 pm
Briggs is a public disturbance and annoyance. His attitude and manner is totally inappropriate and unacceptable. Plus, he is out of process.Posted April 22, 2014 2:24 pm
Briggs shows what he is……………a MOFO punk ass.
…and to add to that, he fights his mandatory fights as well as the best possible fighters that are available.Posted April 22, 2014 2:16 pm
maxmus – Wlad is one of the few champions in any weight division that has consistently fought at least 3 times a year, every year….you’re cluelessPosted April 22, 2014 2:14 pm
keep the hw circus rolling.Posted April 22, 2014 2:12 pm
Wow, Briggs is hijacking press conferences? That’s pretty gangsta for an aging vet that hasn’t had a meaningful fight since 2010–albeit against, what I’ve always believed is the better overall fighter among the Klitschko brothers.
just how much more boring can the hw division get? “welcome to big time boxing alex”.. yes vladimir we all get the message.. in other words ur out of your league dude.. i remember a guy named mike tyson.. he was a real champion.. none of all this cherry picking just fight once a year bs.. study mike tyson or joe frazier vladimir.. and welcome YOURSELF to big time boxing.. just who do you think you are fooling?Posted April 22, 2014 1:32 pm
Now why is Briggs taking off his shirt here? And why the heck is he following Klitchko around. Bro you have to earn your right to fight for the championship. And no you are not the peoples champPosted April 22, 2014 1:25 pm
