Maidana’s a great guy but he has zero shot ! Boring fight… Thank god for first row …online Freebie for sure. Otherwise I wouldn’t bother-Posted May 1, 2014 12:29 am
Anonymous my friend, I don’t drink, smoke, toke, use coke or any other drug. Atlas is a disgrace and should be slapped for insinuating that the legendary Manny Pacquiao uses anything. You and others definitely need to see the movie MANNY. This will be a life changing experience and have you in tears. Manny Pacquiao is a special fighter in a brutal corrupt sport, but what he does for people in need and how he carries himself is simply amazing and admirable. We’re talking about the greatest pure fighter of all time. Manny Pacquiao needs respect, Teddy Atlas only wishes he could stand next to Manny “Pac Man” Pacquiao. No need to hate On Manny for no reason other than jealousy or envy. The world loves him.Posted May 1, 2014 12:09 am

Another sad day for Pactards
HECDOG, Teddy Atlas is only saying what he feels and is the mirror image of you attacking Malignaggi at every opportunity. You are a very dangerous individual and hopefully you do not have a gun licence as I can see you shooting up the TV studios after a night on the sauce. Let Manny fight his own battles. You have a much bigger battle with your own sanity.Posted April 30, 2014 6:46 pm
Teddy Atlas needs to be publicly flogged for 10 months for his disparaging, defaming comments about the great Manny Pacquiao on ESPN’s First take. Atlas has been one to continually criticize the living legend, Manny Pacquiao. He reminds me of another brain damaged commentator and wannabe boxer Paulie Malignaggi. These two guys have such jealousy and envy for Manny Pacquiao, but neither has ever had any type of relationship with him. Stephen A. Smith can be added to this list of Manny haters. These guys have a platform to speak on a sport or sports without being bias. Manny Pacquiao has never failed a drug test of any kind, nor has there ever been rumors that he has failed one unlike Floyd Mayweather (3 failed tests). Just look at the TMT fighters that keep failing over and over. Manny Pacquiao is a good guy in boxing that is always a target because he is a decent, honest, sincere, humble, caring, giving role model to the millions of children, youth, teens and families all over the world. Teddy Atlas should know better than to attack many Pacquiao without a scintilla of evidence. This is the same Teddy Atlas that was a thug and ran around causing trouble and getting into trouble in his youth. This is the same guy that spent time at Rikers Island for criminal activities. Teddy Atlas comes from a good family. His father was a doctor. He has a great job commentating on the greatest sport in the world. I’m not sure why Teddy continually tries to blast Manny Pacquiao every time he gets the chance. Manny has done nothing to him in any way shape or form. I will be writing a strongly written letter to ESPN and ask for them to terminate Teddy Atlas position, and request a written letter of apology to Manny Pacquiao, his family, fans and myself personally. Teddy Atlas goes around to various universities and gives motivational speeches. He is respected by many, but to me he has tarnished any good that he has done by continually talking shots at the greatest fighter of all time without cause. In 2000, Teddy Atlas received the NFL Helping Hands Award for his charity work, which is admirable. I hope he uses one of those hands and slaps himself a few times for trying to degrade Manny Pacquiao. Manny Pacquiao is a saint among the devils in the boxing world. He treats all people with respect regardless of what they say about him. This is a man that we should look up to. A man that harbors no bad will towards others. Manny Pacquiao is a man that takes care of his family, his friends and a country. Manny Pacquiao is a congressman above reproach. He is the voice of those that have no voice. Manny Pacquiao is a special treasure that came on to the boxing world as a 15 year old. His boxing skills need no description. His character as a human being is unquestionable. The question for Teddy Atlas remains. Why do you hate Manny Pacquiao so much? The world loves Manny, trust me on this. Manny is the best.Posted April 30, 2014 3:29 pm

“isn’t it strange when he said that he wants to safeguard his health? ”
Oh, he does that in every single fight. Mayweather is a master at fighting safe. Look for him to be tying Maidana up often. It will be a Mayweather clinch fest–that’s if he really does stay in the pocket as he has claimed he will do. Personally, I think once he feels Maidana’s power he’ll be on his bicycle for the remainder of the fight. But if not, if he really does stay in the pocket to fight Marcos, look for him to clinch a lot and to use his forearms and elbows often. He’s probably studied the Alexander/Maidana fight for the last six months.
If you are a boxing fan that uses the “Sweet Science” and “Hit and don’t get hit” quotes, especially those that try to upgrade this sport over MMA as some “Art” instead of what it is…FIGHTING…then you are just another hypocrite.
Personally, I would love for more fighters to fight like Pac which is to rarely clinch and rarely foul but it isn’t the case and hasn’t been since the conception of “modern” boxing. Go back to Jack Johnson, Jack Dempsey, Gene Tunney, etc. etc. etc….they all clinched/grappled. Even Tyson used the clinch (and elbows).Posted April 30, 2014 11:27 am

isn’t it strange when he said that he wants to safeguard his health? real fighters go inside the ring with the do or die mentality… i’m not against the health and welfare of the boxers but if you think of it, he hasn’t engaged himself in toe to toe wars to be really concerned about health… the WWE has taught him that an entertainer’s health wouldn’t be compromised in a staged event… people will still watch and there’s money to be made… so why accept real challenges when we can do inhouse and stage everything… everyone wins! from the fighter to the promoter to the adviser!Posted April 30, 2014 5:02 am

The legendary Manny “Pac Man” Pacquiao and his beautiful wife Jinkee recently welcomed their 5th child, Israel into the world. Life continues to get better for the living legend. His spectacular performance against unbeaten Timothy Bradley left viewers in awe as Manny used his speed, boxing intellect and a variety of pin point punches throughout the fight. Boxing rises to a level of excitement that reaches the sky every time Manny Pacquiao fights. There are no other boxers today that take command of the world’s attention like Manny. Recently there were fights that involved Keith Thurman and Shawn Porter. Both guys would not be recognized outside of the boxing ring. Saturday there is a fight between Floyd Mayweather and Marcos Maidana. There’s no excitement anywhere. Real sports fans don’t have much interest. Floyd Mayweather’s routine of fighting handpicked, one dimensional or inexperienced fighters has worn thin. His me, me, me look at my money and materials and my women I can buy off has fans losing interest in his particular fights. We saw fans badgering him on the All Access show. Floyd has made a fool of himself, and the ticket sales aren’t going very well. Boxing needs Manny Pacquiao to come back soon. He is currently negotiating a possible 5 fight deal that would take him through 2016. Bob Arum is rumored to have a huge offer waiting for Manny Pacquiao. Those that are against Manny signing with Arum must know that Manny Pacquiao is a very loyal, forgiving, understanding, loving and caring person that is a man of his word. Arum has made millions of dollars for Manny Pacquiao. Could he have made more money for Manny? Yes, but Manny Pacquiao has enough money today to last him and his family a life time. Manny Pacquiao is the greatest pure fighter in boxing history. His enormous popularity comes directly from his incredible boxing ability that fans love. Manny is warrior unlike like any other warrior. The living legend has taken on the best of his era. He has no fear of any man or beast. Floyd Mayweather is a lost soul bathing in his money and materials, but he lacks the respect of his peers and the public. Everyone knows that he avoided Manny Pacquiao at all costs even going as far as getting himself locked up just to avoid the greatest fighting machine of all time. Styles make fights, and Manny Pacquiao’s style would have given Mayweather fits. Mayweather would have been knocked in rounds 10-12. Trust me on this. A legend like Manny Pacquiao that carries an entire country on his shoulders has a special ability and passion that cannot be duplicated. Manny Pacquiao beats Floyd Mayweather in all areas. Speed, power, athleticism, stamina and ring generalship favor Manny. This man is not your ordinary man. No one beats Manny Pacquiao on a one fight basis, no one. Manny is the best!Posted April 29, 2014 7:27 pm
I just expect more from the top fighter in the sport. That’s all I’m saying. I grew up in the 90′s when you had The Golden Boy, Oscar De La Hoya, who went after the best at their best (if they still were). He was always looking for the best opponent out there. Who was going to make him the best and sell the best…in that order.
If Floyd was fighting more than twice a year, Yes, I would be for it. Not for the PPV price but I would be for it. At twice a year fighting, nope, not buying the importance of this fight. It lacks imagination.Posted April 29, 2014 4:47 pm
I am not seeing the problem with the Maidana fight. No nobody thinks it will be competitive, that is fine. But the man has a title, has decent wins at welterweight. Personally the other fighter deserving of the fight is Porter but he has a mandatory obligation with Brooks. Thurman will be ready next year. Pac and Bradley are both with Arum and Arum has made no attempt to make the fight. He has only tried to ridicule a Mayweather fight. So it is obvious he has no interest in making the fight. The only reason he is talking about boycotting this fight is because he wants the PPV numbers to be low so he can try and get 50/50 at the negotiating table which will never happen.
It’s not PPV worthy. If this was a fight back in the 50′s when they fought more often and they weren’t charging $70 for the PPV, YES, I would be all for it.
As far as ARUM, The hell with him too. Boycott his fights as well for what he said.Posted April 29, 2014 4:33 pm
This event will do 1.8M PPVs, Khan, Broner, Maidana & Floyd in one event is a good day for boxing.reminds me of days of: Kennedy McKinney vs Junior Jones & Kevin Kelly vs Prince Nasim Hamed ( that was a lovely night of boxing )
“Good day for boxing” in which way? The fighters maybe but not the fans who have to shell out $70. Each time fans buy into this “good day for boxing” motto, which I’m not sure if it was started by some naive 13 year old suburban fanboy or someone with the boxing community that profits off of this all, either way, each time a PPV buy does above 1 million at $70 will just add fuel for Promoters and Fighters to continue to want more and more.
How much is enough? We are already at $70 for subpar fights most of the time.
Good day my a$$
I say stop watching, let them bomb so that they have to lower the price.Posted April 29, 2014 4:27 pm

This fight is a waste. And I’m a Floyd fan saying this. Floyd is regarded as the P4P best in the sport, self proclaimed GOAT, fights once, twice a year, and he has fought fighters like Guerrero and now Maidana? Come on. Each fight should be a HUGE challenge and Event.
He is no Ali. He is no Oscar who went after the best opponents.
Oscar may have lost some big fights but nobody can say he didn’t go after the best at their best (if he could).
Hidalg0 no one wants to see Manny vs. Marquez 5 just like no one wanted to see the Bradley rematch Manny is not selling tickets these days, people are tired of seeing the same fights over and over. Manny needs higher caliber fighters and unfortunate top rape dont have them. Manny needs to fight guys like Porter, Danny Garcia, Floyd, or even Kahn. Or Mattysee and Oscar has all the fighters Arum is nothing his stable sucks and most off the guys people are either not interesting is seeing of never heard of Floyd is boxing right now…
I would watch Pac/JMM 5. It was the other 3 previous I didn’t care about. But now that Pac would be facing off against someone he was knocked out cold against, that makes it interesting. Especially since the strategy since the first fight has been to wait it out until JMM looks older. Each time it hasn’t worked out. Now that JMM is like 50, maybe it will finally work out.Posted April 29, 2014 1:31 pm
So with your criteria there then Pac doesn’t qualify as a good opponent for Floyd because of his losses right? That basically means there are not many fights out there for Floyd because a lot of them have Ls on their record. Your boxing knowledge is sparse.Posted April 29, 2014 11:42 am

Devon Alexander [WIDE LOSS

dont pay for the crap ppvPosted April 29, 2014 10:57 am
Maidana was schooled by average Dan’s like Khan and Alexander. He took an L against another one in Kotelnik. And was dragged to hell and back by the barely average, at best, Victor Ortiz. But now he’s a legitimate threat to Mayweather just because he beat Broner, who himself has struggled like crazy to get past, and indeed been beaten numerous times in many people’s eyes, by a murderer’s row of distinctly average talents like Fernando Quintero, Daniel Ponce De Leon, Paulie Malignaggi, and the aforementioned Maidana.
Fraud Mayweather is at it again. Taking on opponents that nobody is worried about and laughing all the way to the bank.Posted April 29, 2014 10:54 am

I don’t think the MGM is gonna be quite come Saturday night. PPVs will do pretty well also. I hope the boycott works because of all the talk you boycotters have done over the years, Floyd keeps setting new records and standards for the sport of boxing.Posted April 29, 2014 10:20 am

Pac isn’t waiting, he is looking to fight Marquez. And he also hasn’t even made an offer to Floyd. GGG is fighting at 168 currently. Not sure what he is waiting on, he is still a middleweight and Floyd is a welterweight. Ward is also super middleweight who has accepted GGG challenge but GGG said he is gonna clean out the middleweight division even though he is taking Chavez on at super middleweight even though he said he wasn’t moving up and was gonna clear out middleweight. Thurman is not yet ready. He will be next year but he needs another fight or 2 with stepped up competition.Posted April 29, 2014 9:56 am

Another fight where I hope there is a contest but fear there will not be. Maidana should come out crazy and try some shock tactics very early because once floyd gets in his groove the music will be as we’ve heard it so many times before.Posted April 29, 2014 9:25 am
– Shooo, if floyd gets a KO….for certain it’s fixed. It would be shamefull on maidana’s part also. However, maidana has no prayer to win…..that’s why I will just watch the rerun especially since the 15-1 odds tell me floyd is winning….so what’s the point.Posted April 29, 2014 9:23 am

Maidana is a good guy, glad he’s getting a big payday. But, he has no chance, none whatsoever. I think this will be Floyds easiest fight since Baldomir. Cinco de Mayo, Argentina is celebrating their Fiesta Oficial!!! What the heck is this. I don’t even know what it means although I knew one thing and that in my dreams I dreamed that Marcos El Chino Maidana knocked out Money Mayweather in the 5th stanza of their fight on the 3rd of May. Maidana went back home on the 5th and Argentina and its populace celebrated that day as there public holiday in honour of their hero Marcos Maidana. Looking forwarded to watching another masters piece produced by Floyd Mayweather Jr. After the first minute Maidana will know this ain’t Broner or any other fighter he has faced. Floyd is 45-0 soon to be 46-0 . No fighter that has ever quit in a fight will ever beat Floyd. Maidana quit against Devin Alexander. If you don’t believe me just go back and watch the fight. I am a fan of Maidana’s but in this fight he has zero chance of winning . Have you all not noticed that when guys get in there with Floyd they don’t look the same.Posted April 28, 2014 4:56 pm

I am from Argentina and yes, we do have a lot of sports heroes, Monzon, Messi, Maradona, Ginobbili, Del Potro…it’s a long list. I like Marcos a lot and though I think his improvement since training with RG is impressive, I also think his chances of beating FM are slim at best. Floyd is better both defensively and offensively, he is faster, more elusive and punches with dead accuracy. That makes a world of diference in boxing. Only chance for Marcos will be to catch FLoyd with a big right hand or a left hook and finish him off. But that hasn;t happened in awhile. Last time i recall seeing Floyd in any kind of trouble was in the 2nd against Mosley. He will most likely cruise to a UD with a dominating performance against Marcos, as he is used to do.Posted April 28, 2014 2:31 pm
