Hidalgo: “Really though, seems overly strong-armed of Arum to give that kind of an ultimatum to Chavez. After all, Arum stand to make a nice wad from the Chavez/Golovkin fight too.”

That’s the real head scratcher, Hidalgo…very perceptive.

When this fight was first talked about, I truly believed that Top Rank was merely cashing Chavez out, because he was at the end of his contract.

So why would they want options on his future fights?

Give’s you an idea what Bruce Trampler actually thinks about this match-up. When Top Rank wants options, look out…they actually think Chavez can win this fight!!

You guys are funny…Top Rank is the only reason why Chavez’s career was cultivated so well up to this point. With any other promoter, Chavez would have been toast years ago.

But that Bob Arum…what a jerk!! LOL

No it can’t be. Arum just went on a tirade saying how people don’t have to purchase or sign any contracts to be on his cards that he promotes when he was saying to boycott the Mayweather fight. So now he is saying that Chavez has to sign a contract extension. Can’t be true. This is Arum we talk about. His word is gold.

Hildalg0 any title belt in boxing says world champion. Even the interim titles. That does not make you the champion. Being the champion means being the best. We will always disagree on this. You think I am wrong and I think you are wrong on it. Unfortunately on this topic we are going to have to agree to disagree.

Unfortunately there looks to be some stormy weather for the Golovkin-Chavez fight.

Was just reading that K2 and Golovkin agreed to terms and signed a month ago. Chavez is supposed to either sign or reject today and apparently there is a lot of money being offered.

The problem is that Chavez’ contract with Top Rank apparently would end after the fight. Arum is saying that the fight offer is only valid if Chavez extends his contract with Top Rank for another three fights, but Chavez says he wants to be a free agent.
Here’s hoping some agreement is reached on the Chavez end coz this will be a barn-burner of a fight.

Though I do hope Chavez is able to break free of Top Rank. I really don’t understand why more “name fighters” don’t go as free agents… it opens so many doors up and, if done right, doesn’t close doors either (i.e. Cotto did it perfectly… walked straight out of Top Rank into a Mayweather fight, but still works with Top Rank in other bouts).

Yeah Joseph, enjoyed Monaghan, too. Here in NY we see quite a bit of him on DBE’s Broadway Boxing Shows. His bouts are always all action!!

I am the holder of the WWBFCAO Heavyweight Champion belt. Just like GGG I didn’t have to win it. It was handed to me. I defend it against small guys, preferably pre-injured or already beaten up, just like GGG. I call out every person under the sun when I know they can’t hear me or do anything about it, just like GGG. If a genuine challenge is offered I play dumb and hide in my tax free haven until another headline takes away the hostilities, just like GGG. Yes it is true, just like GGG, I am the greatest World Champion to never prove myself against anyone of decent boxing athleticism as I feed my hype train of smoke and mirrors. Chooooooooo!!!! Chooooooooooo!!!!

Heck, I remember when they introduced the IBF title. Everyone was complaining about having three titles per division. I don’t even know how many titles there are now.

He comes across every bit as good as Ward. Hopefully he’s gettin a lot of take aways from Ward in the gym and will have a strap around his waist soon!!”

We don’t have 6 champs per division. We just have multiple titlest. In most divisions there is 1 champ unless they have yet to determine who the champ is.

But Yeah, I get what you are saying. I just wanted to get that out there for the other side of that broad statement.

What your saying is that fighters used to fight for Pride first, money second…Yes, No?

It’s always been a business but fighters are getting further and further away from fighting for pride first. I think it was because more back then were raised that Pride is greater than Money and when you get Pride, Money comes. Basically, beat the crap out of the best and you become the best and all that booty follows you until the end of your days. It may or may not be the case but it certainly helped get us the best fights. Of course, not all great fights happened. Bert Sugar went over this.

Its more a sport now that ever. You know Boxing was frowned upon in the 19th and early 20th century?

Yeah, just like MMA was frowned upon during the early UFC/Gracie years until Dana’s group took it over and made it into a legit “sport.” Funny how some boxing fans look down upon it given boxing’s history. But I wouldn’t expect most fans to know the history of the sport they watch because they are only fans of the moment.

If you don’t want to fight Ward then you don’t want to be champ. He was the one that called out Ward. No he does not bring a lot of money to the table but if you want to be champ that is who you fight and sometimes you have to take the fight for less money. That is the business of boxing. But GGG and his team have been on record stating they are not interested in moving up to fight Ward because they want to be even at the negotiating table and not let Ward have the upper hand. I heard the interview were Able said that. So in my mind they called out a lot of fighters, Hopkins and Ward said sure and then GGG and his team backed off and then went back to saying they would fight Floyd who is a welter at 154, a weight GGG has never fought at, even as an amateur he fought at a higher weight than that.

PEEJ: “GGG is 160 and a 168 pound fighter. Calling Floyd is like picking on the little guy. He needs to concentrate on clearing out 160. Funny be he called Ward out but Ward accepted and they went quiet also.”

If Ward could actually sell tickets, K2 would have put that fight together a long time ago.

No one wants to face Andre Ward, and he’s the man currently at 168 pounds. It’s sad.

It’s a harsh reminder of the business that is boxing.

Woop Woop, more crap crap!!
Golovkin is a class act, in and out of the ring.
He would destroy Quillin, Geale, Barker or anyone else that ventures into the ring with him.
If he fights Jn’r he will be out weighed by a considerable amount, despite this he will batter Chavez, I see Julio leaping onto the ring apron and imploring the corner to stop it. Easy night for the great Gennady Golovkin!!!
Get over it Woop Woop, he’s here to stay.

Gennady The Great

Ah, Gennady ‘Triple G’ Golovkin, the REIGNING and UNDEFEATED WBA and IBO MIDDLEWEIGHT CHAMPION OF THE WORLD. Here, my friends, my people and fellow fight fans, is a TRUE GLOBAL ICON OF THE SPORT, who has SEEMLESSLY MADE THE TRANSITION FROM AMATEUR GREATNESS TO PROFESSIONAL DOMINANCE, which is, most definitely, the mark of an ELITE talent. Gennady Golovkin, a.k.a GGG, has Effortlessly CONQUERED the Best the Middleweight Ranks has had to offer so far, with even World Class Champions and Highly Ranked opponents doing their best to find a reason NOT to meet him…Look at the list of WORLD CLASS and HIGHLY TRAINED Boxers 3G has destroyed: He has marmalized Macklin, nullified Nunez, annihilated Adama and Ishida, obliterated Ouma, dissected Stevens, pulverised Proksa, rolled over Rosado and has crushed many more ILLUSTRIOUS fighters of renown in compiling a MAGNIFICENT Win-Loss Fight Record of 29-0…My friends, GENNADY ‘TRIPLE G’ GOLOVKIN, The Fighting Lion Of Kazakhstan, is TRULY a Beast From The East, an Undefeated P4P Universally Admired and Recognized Superstar and a Boxer to Grace The World Stage for Years to come. Gennady Golovkin, is, quite simply THE BEST.

Woop Woop/S Redmond

Why are you a fanatical racist?

Why do you have a massive chip on both shoulders?

Why are you such a childish loser?

What have you achieved in your life compared to Golovkin, who is loved and respected by his entire country and many more millions around the world?

Golovkin will be remembered as a great boxer who achieved a lot in his life. What will you be remembered Redmond for apart from being a racist loser?

Woop Woop

Can you ask the following:

Why does GGG always fight blown up Jnr Middles?
Why does GGG always fight other ‘real’ champions leftovers?
Why did GGG duck challenges from Ward and Froch at 168lbs, citing he wanted to clear out the Middles, yet now is ‘potentially’ fighting JCC Jr at 168lbs?
Why does GGG always call out names that are scheduled or layed off by injury and then bleat he is being avoided?
Why does GGG not reply to numerous challenges from Jnr Middle up to Super Middle and still claims to be avoided?

Thanks in Advance
Woop Woop
