The lead up to this fight has been horrible. Issue after issue after issue all to try and sell this awful fight card. You can’t fool people all the time. Mayweather and his company best try acting with some dignity and start treating fans and the general public with some respect. His ranting and raving about his ex fiancee’s abortion, Nelly now dating her, the glove issues and the constant complaint from boxing fans to have Mayweather fight the greatest fighter of all time, Manny “Pac Man” Pacquiao all point to desperation from a fighter and his company slowly but surely being exposed for who they really are. This PPV is failing. People aren’t going to shell out $60-$70 for this circus act. Boxing has become nothing more than a circus act every time Floyd Mayweather fights. People see right through him now. Thanks Floyd Mayweather for making the great sport of boxing seem like a big joke.

Squared-Circle Real Talk (a.k.a. LionKing)

In a recent interview, FMJ said that he’ll have three more fights after Maidana then retire. Question is will he choose cake-walk fights like Khan, Alexander, Bradley, Broner, Molina (if he wins) and take the road of least resistance?

Or will he give fans what we really want and deserve to see by facing the best competition in the world (e.g., PacMan, 3G, Lara, Garcia, etc.)???

Well you’d better go take you a SENSING class. Floyd is TOTALLY confident and can’t WAIT to let his frustrations out on Maidana’s body and FACE. I have SAID it all along and I say it once again. Floyd by Argentinean AGONIZING late stoppage.

I sense some insecurity in Floyd Mayweather. Something seems a bit off, and his tirade with one of his guys on stage seemed a bit off. Maidana is very calm and confident and realistic. He knows how difficult the task will be, and I think he’s going to give it a great effort. Maidana has to do the following to have even a remote chance of winning: He must apply pressure for 12 rounds. He can’t give Mayweather any distance or he’s going to get picked apart. Maidana doesn’t have a bad jab or guard, so he has to use that jab and feint it as to not get countered. He must move his head and come forward in his awkward style of fighting. He has to throw punches from all angles, and needs to be careful in close every time he throws the right hook because Mayweather will counter all night with the right uppercut. Maidana has to make this a street brawl and has to be in shape to go the distance. If he tires out after 7 rounds, he’s going to be in trouble. The overhand right Maidana likes to throw has to be followed by the left hand always. Mayweather has to be aware of punches coming at him from all angles, and they have to be hard. Body, head arms, hip every place he can hit. Floyd Mayweather doesn’t like to fight a mano y mano type fight, and Maidana has to make him do this. Keep that distance close otherwise Mayweather will run and run and run. He will tap you then run. Maidana has to believe that he can do this because the entire arena will be on his side. Floyd is a mental wreck right now, and all the stuff he’s brought upon himself may just be enough to rattle him inside the ring. I’m pulling for Maidana to pull off this upset, but my prediction is Mayweather stops Maidana in the 10th or 11th round. A great effort by Maidana, but his pressure type style will tire him out and he will take too many punches before the stoppage. I truly hope I’m wrong.

“I bet when Floyd fights the winner of Thurman and Porter people will still say he is cherry picking.” – As long as Floyd ducks Pacquiao he’ll be accused of cherry picking. That will be a major part of his legacy regardless of what you Floyd fans think. That said, given the real fight people want is not going to happen, I’d like to see Porter or Thurman in there with him. If they stacked the undercard we’d buy the PPV no prob.

Peej/ talking about that Judah fight vs. Mayboring. What’s the deal with Floyd wearing a big white gloves compare to Judah. Man when Floyd cover his face with those gloves you can’t see his face. Now how on earth you gonna KO Or hit Floyd in the head when Judah can’t see it. You call Floyd great and you are blind to see that ALL his cherry picked fights he demand advantage with the fight! Like when he fought Marquez he is over the limit on weight! I just think Is not a great boxer. His skills comes from the knowledge in boxing who is shot, old, slow, and can be buy off. To prove it the evidence is in his BORING fights!

Tark, are you stupid? How many years ago did Floyd and Zab fight? The Zab of today is an old, used up busted flush. Paulie Malignaggi is almost as busted up as Judah. With 7 KO’s in 36 fights, how in the heck is he going to survive a Jnr Middleweight who campaigns against a natural Light Welter?

Nice to see you don’t let facts get in the way of your snide comments.

Next, I will put you straight in your Mike McCALLUM and Marvin Hagler lie with proper facts and dates. Saddle up, cowboy!

” “Exactly. But Floyd would never fight a fast slick young boxer. He hasn’t since Judah.” ”

Floyd never DID fight a fast slick young boxer in his life.

Judah??? Zap couldn’t beat a wimpy Paulie — Porter smashed Paulie like an roach.

HECDOG why are there 20-50 people in all these so-called Pacquiao households? Why aren’t these leeches paying their $50 to support Pac? You need to ask yourself who’s fooling who?

HappyBoy my friend, the PPV numbers are rumored to be between 775,000 and higher. Once again, it’s all about Manny Pacquiao. He doesn’t need others to like Mayweather does to bring up his numbers. Khan has a great following and now all the latinos are obviously supporting Maidana. Floyd has no real true fans that come to see him. Now the Manny Pacquiao numbers you must always take into account the millions that don’t buy the expensive PPV cost all around the world or simply can’t afford it. Include the 20-50 people at each household that support Manny Pacquiao. Those numbers are never accounted for, and if they were, Manny Pacquiao would crush every PPV number in any sport. Manny Pacquiao carries the sport all by himself. He uses no other fighter to boost his numbers, and that’s the truth. Chris Williams from Sports Illustrated had the numbers i mentioned, but they’re still counting. This is a man that is by far the most popular boxer world wide to have ever stepped into the boxing ring. Floyd Mayweather will use KHAN’S, BRONER’S and MAIDANA”S fans to boost his numbers, but you’ll see in the end, the numbersstill won’t be very good even with all three guys carrying Mayweather. And of course, fans must understand that Mayweather will do anything and everything to bring in more viewers. It’s not a coincidence that he posted his fiancee’s personal life on FB only to get more haters to tune in and see him take a beating. He obviously saw how horrible the ticket sales and PPV sales were going, so he stooped to another all time low and did a cruel and evil act of disgust just to save try and save those numbers. Mayweather is an evil calculating wolf in sheep’s clothing.

Hold up! It wasn’t that long ago that saint Manny Pacquiao was cheating on Jinkee and betting on c8ckfighting. See, if ya dig for dirt on anyone, you will find it. My ‘pino friends tell me of stories of children out of wedlock that Manny refuses to give paternity tests for.

You raise a good point about the sonogram, but whatever the hidden truths, the facts are she aborted potential twins that Floyd could have brought up by himself. He certainly wouldn’t need a handout to assist him.
I just wish we’d judge fighters inside the ring. I’ve said it millions of times on here, if you scrutinise anyone’s life behind closed doors you’d probably not like what you see too much. No one is perfect except, possibly, definitely, maybe, potentially, realistically Hedcog!

Hidalg) my friend, you have only heard Floyd Mayweather’s side of the story. The lady has more class, and I’m sure there’s a lot more to it. Floyd obviously wants to make himself look good and her bad. If this truly happened, it’s a horrible thing and inexcusable, but as I said, we don’t know the entire story, and Floyd is the last person you would want to trust. Let the young lady have her say instead of being a hate target because of what Floyd Mayweather said and did. Everyone says she was only after his money, but she was a successful model. We don’t know the whole story as I said. I would never put anyone through that horrific treatment by putting her personal life for the world to see and label her as something she may not be. I just find it so distasteful.

Hecdog. Are you a father? Are you married? How would you feel if someone aborted your twins and NEVER even told you they were pregnant, thus not even giving you a chance to voice an opinion on whether or not you wanted kids?
If you’ve never had kids or been in that situation, then it is YOU who should STFU. You are becoming an out and out scum bag on these boards and not the likeable persona you would have us see you as.
Your baiting of Paulie Makignaggi is nothing short of disgraceful and now you’ve set your jaws into Teddy Atlas. Who’s next? Seriously dude, you need to grow up, grow a pair and try and get yourself a girlfriend and stop schlurping Manny’s ball bags.

Floyd Mayweather the boxer cannot be separated from Floyd Mayweather the human being. After reading on the
internet what Floyd had posted about his former Fiancee, I asked myself, what would drive a person to do such a hateful thing? What could he gain from this? Why would anyone want to hurt another human being like that? Floyd is a good boxer that has earned fame and fortune. He has been blessed to have abilities that very few have. He has been put in a position in life where he could reach millions of people positively. He could do so much good. Instead, we see a man that curses out his father, threatens his children and the mother of his children, threatens security guards, rumored to have sent out his hit men, goes on a racist rant about Manny Pacquiao, disrespects an elderly Larry Merchant on TV, brags about his money and materials and has a criminal record a mile long. Floyd Mayweather’s personal life is never personal since he’s the one that puts himself out there. He wants the cameras and microphones on him at all times. He is making more news outside the ring than he is inside of it. This is a tarnished fighter and a tarnished man. His unbeaten record is flawed as is his character. The world is pulling for Marcos Maidana because of who Floyd Mayweather the person is. Does anyone wonder why he has no sponsors? Who wants to be associated with someone that looks at people as if they were dirt. Floyd is the same man/boxer that had to resort to sucker punching his opponent just to make sure he won. My question to Floyd fans is Why would you support a person that does these type of cowardly things inside and outside the ring? Why would you even consider giving your money to see this disturbed individual? Boxing has always had its share of characters and not so angel like characters, but Floyd Mayweather has over stepped the boundaries of ethics, morals and values on more than one occasion. The tragedy in all this is to allow this man to treat other human beings like he does. This world has millions of children that look up to Floyd Mayweather. He has a responsibility inside and outside the boxing ring to act and treat people like they matter. I for one will never pay to see Floyd Mayweather fight again. Floyd Mayweather will continue to tarnish his already tarnished image, but he will tarnish the image of boxing and what being a boxing champion is much worse. I can’t wait to see the greatest fighter and person in boxing return. Yes, Manny Pacquiao is the total opposite of Floyd Mayweather. Manny is all that’s good and Floyd is all that’s bad.

Nathan says.., “The only way to beat FMJ is to have an iron chin and titanium ribs and wear whatever he throws at you. Rough him up, take point deductions, smash on his guard with the intention of smashing his guard. He will not be outboxed or outwitted in the ring.”

“Worthy game plan no, effective game plan yes.”

It’s not effective either…

You just wear yourself out and fall way behind on points.. It’s what Edwin Rodriquez tried to do to Andre Ward and he laid a massive egg..

What Jack Reed did was put both Ward and Rodriquez in neutral corners and took 2 points from each boxer… That way the next infraction could have meant a DQ… Fine, because Rodriguez had blown his wad by that time anyway. He just got all out of sorts, couldn’t land a punch, couldn’t fight his best, and was screwed up a duck.

Don’t ever say Floyd couldn’t be beaten legitimately… That’s bogus… You feint him… you jab him… you hook him… you rip the right hand… you drill his body.

Floyd just needs to meet a very fast, slick, young boxer with all around skills and good power, such as: Lara… Porter… Pacquiao… or Thurman.

It wasn’t a super fight between Hearns and Hagler… It was a weak chinned guy getting the living crap knocked out of him by a stronger and tougher man in a toe-to-toe slugfest.

Same thing with Iran Barkley knocking Hearns TFO.

Hearns was in his 20’s when he was knocked out by Leonard… Hagler… and Barkely… He wasn’t an old man.

Leonard was smart and boxed Hagler.

Posted May 1, 2014 11:43 pm

TARK

Not Boxing says.., “Hagler didn’t get away with anything, he fought Hearns.” LOL

Hearns fought about 35 fights as a welterweight. He was knocked out by Ray Leonard at welterweight. Hearns wasn’t a feared puncher at middleweight. Besides Hagler, Iran Barkley also knocked Hearns out at middleweight.

There were much more feared middleweight punchers in Nigel Benn and James Toney — who both knocked Iran Barkley out… That’s something Hearns couldn’t do. Hearns lost TWICE to the crude swinging Barkley.

Not Boxing says.., “Mayweather is a circus act, fights twice a year on the same date, against fighters who he picks, always in the same place, you can’t compare him to other fighters in the past, he is not Hagler, etc, etc, etc.”

Hmmm… I don’t think you’re seeing the complete picture with Hagler. Floyd will actually fight a lot more in his last 3 years than Hagler did.

Hagler fought ONCE (1 X) a year in 1985.. 1986.. and 1987.. and he fought smaller fighters coming up in weight. I’m not sure he’d get away with that today. Leonard, for instance, hadn’t fought in 3 years when he fought Hagler.

There were some formidable fighters Hagler DIDN’T fight like Harol Grahm and Mike McCallum. In those days the orgs just did everything the boxers wanted and named the guys they wanted to fight as mandatories.

If he can continually apply pressure the best he can do would be a draw. Floyd doesn’t WIN fights he just doesn’t lose them. He applys just enough pressure – quick scoring shots that obviously don’t do a whole lot of damage then gets out ! If a guy doesn’t want to engage you can’t best him . A perfect example of this was Leonard/Hagler ! Textbook Floyd imprint – pattern

Hatton wasn’t allowed to fight on the inside against Mayweather. Cortez was calling break at some points before they even got close to getting into the clinch. That was the issue with that fight. The inside game including clinching is a part of boxing whether people agree with it or not.

Joe Cortez ” Fair but Firm” or was it Firm but Fair? In any case he was neither – he was Firm with Hatton and Fair? With Mayweather. Crotez knew which way the promoter wanted to the fight to go and gave every advantage to the house fighter. If the house fighter got dropped he would wipe the gloves taking all his time, look the fighter over, have a conversation with him , send the fighter back to a neutral corner , wait , then allow the fights to continue fighting. That is the reason he got to referee so many fights.

Floyd Mayweather reaches another all time low by posting personal business about his ex fiancee having an abortion, and letting us know that’s the reason he left her. This guy needs help. Why humiliate another human being like that. This guy is such an ego maniac that he has to humiliate family, friends and fans at all costs. The boxing world and the world will be much better off when this guy retires and gets out of the spot light. He needs to take a look at himself and what he’s done before doing these types of despicable things. He will eventually get what’s coming to him, and I hope by some miracle he gets it on Saturday night. Floyd Mayweather is a good fighter even though he cherry picks most of his opponents, but as a human being he’s an embarrassment. Money and fame have consumed him, and the talk is no longer about his boxing, but more about the type of person he really is. People were thrilled when his little brother Adrien Broner was beaten to a pulp, but just imagine the celebration if a good, decent, humble caring person like Maidana were to beat him. What a celebration that would be. Good finally defeating evil. The hypocrisy of Floyd Mayweather wearing a cross around his neck speaks straight to his hypocrisy. This is not a representative of the utmost highest. I’m going to pray for Floyd Mayweather. There are kids all over looking up to this man, and look at what he radiates out to them. What an opportunity he has to touch people in a positive way. A man blessed to have his skills. All the money and fame in the world, and he throws it all away. What profit a man if he gains the whole world, but loses his soul? Pray for this man.
