I pick Donaire by decision.

I SEE Donaire prevailing in this one. He’s Top 4 P4P in the Sport. Nishioka is #0. Some Fights are just too EASY to predict. That’s probably why I’m 95% at picking the WINNER.

I don’t see nonito having it easy with Nishioka he’s no bum, that said he should win by UD Toshiaki is coming off a 1yr layoff the main reason TR nonito went after him of course.Well sorry to tell you but he’s not walking through him.Expect Noshiaka to give nonito a run for his money & hit nonito a lot, then watch what Rigondeaux will do to both or winner.War Alvarado, make rios regret moving up to your division.

I would not be surprised if this is Nishioka’s biggest payday. I feel retirement in the air for him. He has had some personal problems which is the reason given that he has not fought in over a year. While I don’t think one can count him out, I just feel that Donaire is going to be the best fighter he has ever fought. The fact that all the judges I believe are American I think shows that he has too much stacked against him. Of course, in this case, he really has nothing to lose though some feel otherwise. If he wins, he will be able to fight on and get bigger paydays, if he loses a controversial decision, he still can continue on. If he loses by a non controversial one, he probably will retire with his best payday.

I agree, watch out for Jose Benavidez Jr.

“This one is a toss-up, but I’ll go with Rios based on two factors: 1) Alvarado’s face has been busted up in the past. In fact, it looked like a pizza after his brutal fight with Prescott. I see Rios’s jarring uppercuts eventually doing heavy damage to Mike’s eyes, possibly hindering his sight. When Bam Bam fought John Murray, he rendered the game Murray’s face a bloody mess. If Prescott could do this Alvarado, I see Rio also doing it. 2) Alvarado is a warrior and brawler first and a boxer second. That’s his profile. He loves to engage. Rios, on the other hand, is a better boxer than most give him credit for. His amateur career was lengthy and stellar. Now he is trained by arguably the hottest trainer in boxing, Robert Garcia. I think Garcia’s preparation and corner work will give Bam Bam an ever-so-slight edge. Caveat: If Mike takes Rios into the late rounds and Rios falters, look for Alvarado to close matters because he is one of those who gets stronger the longer the fight progresses. Therefore, it is imperative for Rios to do damage early and often.

. . . but nothing is ever certain with Jhonny Gonzalez.

Noshioka’s not exactly unproven. Rafa and Gonzalez still qualify as “tests”. Marquez has declined but Jhonny is just snakebit. he has a knack for snatching defeat from the jaws of almost certain victory.

hecdog, I feel what your sayn about Donaire though-they want him to look spectacular so bad it’s crazy. They’ve matched him with guys they assume would get KOed really bad but Doniare was unable to produce. They are always shooting for the next great thing instead of letting the next great thing come to them. Donaire looked good vs Darchinyan when he was coming in with no D like a wildman and Montiel but who else. Donaire is now facing another older fighter who is good but IDK I think their hoping and prayn he knocks Nishioka’s head off so they can act all wild and crazy about it. Boxing is sometimes so sad and unafair. Darchinyan came back stronger than ever after losing to Donaire and never got the props he deserved while he was fighting the best and Donaire was being spoon fed opponents while some how some way being a top P4P fighter

I wish we could get a look see at Jose Benavidez. He is a young prospect who they allowed to go pro early because of his advance skill set. Hopefully he gets a mention tonight. Could be a future star.

I wish we could get a look at Jose Benavidez, Jr who is coming along very nicely. Jose could be a future P4P star if he fills his potential. Lots of us puglists are looking forward so seeing this kid hit the scene. Due to his youth we might have to weight a bit longer. Donaire should win this but Nishioka can fight. Side with my homerism and say Alvarado gets a stoppage.

Noshioka is known for what exactly? He beat an over the hill Marquez and a glass jaw Jhonny Gonzalez. Come on people, know your boxing. The media builds up these guys out of nowhere, and all of a sudden everyone believes the hype. I bet 99% of fans can’t name one guy that Nishioka has fought. He’s 36 yrs old. Donaire will beat him, and pad his record instead of fighting the 3 guys he can’t beat, which are Moreno, Mares and Rigondeaux.

this is a very very good test for the flash and to say nishioka cant fight is saying tyson couldnt punch but i think donaire should pass this test to set himself up for a historical match up…yezzzir!

Why is Donaire the headliner? He’s being fed a fighter who’s about to retire? Donaire hasn’t looked good lately, now he gets to fight a grandpa.

Rios v Alvarado is way more interesting and is the only fight even intresting.

Posted October 13, 2012 3:29 am

hecdog

Rios will stop Alvarado before 12 rounds. Too strong for Alvarado. Alvarado would be smart to move and box. That’s the only way he wins this one. Nishioka don’t have a chance. Another hand picked opponent by Donaire. Don’t let the media fool you, Nishioka can’t fight.

Rios looks alot better in this weigh-in than his past 3 at light weight..I expect Rios to bring it and come out with the win busting Mike’s face up in the process..tommorow can’t come soon enougn,,let’s get it on!
