Collazo is another weak puncher… He can’t KO crap… Forget Victor Ortiz — he takes the easy way out of every fight he’s in.

Always with the KO predictions for Mayweather… You should know Floyd doesn’t punch hard enough to take out fighters of this caliber… Neither does Maidana.

Floyd Mayweather lost to Marcos Maidana last night, and that was clear except to the blind LAS VEGAS judges as usual. Marcos did everything he needed to do to win, and he is the champion in the eyes of the public. Effective pressure, volume punching and an in your face boxing style overwhelmed Mayweather from the start. Marcos Maidana was landing solid jabs all night out. Floyd Mayweather did the only thing he does when a fight gets tough, he held on for dear life, which by the way is ILLEGAL! Referee Tony Weeks took points away from Kahn, but did nothing but hinder Marcos Maidana from being even more effective. The fans knew it. We all saw a clear victory for Maidana, but as usual, Floyd Mayweather fighting in Las Vegas, which is the only place he will ever fight seems to have a lot of power and pull on all of his fights. Jose Luis castillo beat him and was robbed, Oscar De La Hoya beat him and was robbed and now Marcos Maidana beats him, and guess what? Marcos got robbed. Judge Clements had the fight scored for Mayweather by a ridiculous score of 117-111???? This guy needs to be abolished from boxing as does Judge Moretti. I’ve watched this fight a few times, and I can say without bias that Marcos Maidana was the clear victor last night if you know how to score a fight objectively ans use ALL criteria to score a round. And fans know full well why Floyd Maywether wanted no part of the legendary Manny Pacquiao. Marcos Maidan with all due respect best not be barking at the wrong tree if he thinks he can deal with the legend that is Manny Pacquiao. Manny knocks out Maidana inside of 6 rounds, trust me on this. Floyd Mayweather was exposed as the fighter all boxing fans knew he was. He could never handle Manny Pacquiao’s offensive, brutal southpaw, awkward style of fighting. Manny would be 10 times more difficult with his speed and power and feints than was Maidana last night. The Post fight press conference was nothing more than an ego maniac that had to hog the stage because he knew he lost. Floyd went on ranting and raving about the low blows and elbosw and all this other garbage so that he could give fans and excuse as to why he got beat, and then to have an entourage of his dummies on stage was a joke. Marcos Maidana basically said stop you’re talking and I will give you a rematch. Maidana knew he won. The sport of boxing has become a big joke ever since Al Haymon and Showtime’s puppets (commentators) have been trying to monopolize the sport of boxing. They seem to have way too much power with all aspects of a Mayweather fight. The glove issue was a joke if they had already been approved by the commission. I can now see how money can buy power. Floyd Mayweather sure seemed to be anxious and wanted the entire press conference to himself because he knew he lost. No more talk about being great, no more talk about being being in the same level as Manny Pacquiao, no more talk about how he could have handle any greats past or present. The truth of the matter is that Floyd was crying and complaining and received a big gift by those that live in Nevada and are judges. Congratulations to Marcos Maidana, a man with class, dignity and the real winner of last night’s fight.

Maidana by tko. Here we go, moneys shoulder roll is to take a little off the straight right hand. Maidanas right hand is not straight at all and is clubbing, look at where the right hands landed on broiner, right by the eye and temple. that right hand landed at will, all night. Also the roll exposes moneys rightside of the body, every right handed fighter is taught to throw a double left hook. A dbl left hook will not work on money. In maidanas awkwardness he throws that right to the body under Floyd’s left elbow All day and the clubbing right hand up top similar to marquezs ko over pac man. Maidanas awkwardness and floyds age and trying to buy the clippers will be his downside. Its over! History will be made. Vamanos chino!

Floyd is just fooling himself if he thinks his resume makes him the Greatest. He should be called out on it. Being undefeated isn’t as impressive as WHO you beat and WHEN you beat them.

I can name some ATG that have resumes that lack desire to be called ATG and yet, we acknowledge they are Great.

And he surely isn’t the best at WW. Not even top 5.
Below that, at his best weights, Yeah, one could argue that he could hold his own against anyone. But not at WW.

He is Great, just not the Greatest.

his fight with Corrales alone is one of the most brilliant displays of all around boxing skills boxing have seen. Other fights, not as impressive for that kind of overall brilliance. But that is normal

By the way, many ATG have subpar performances, subpar resumes and are still considered “Great.”

BTW excellent comments from 5641 regarding Floyd and Pac compared to prior generations. Fact is there’s no comparison. These nut huggers should accept Floyd will never be the best ever, in fact he’ll never break top 20 all time status. From an historical perspective breaking top 50 ATG is a massive accomplishment so get over it. Tards for some reason cannot say their favorite guys are the best today, they gotta insist they’re the best ever. All that does is underline the fact they don’t know a GD thing about the rich history and incredible athletes who’ve entered this sport.

I’ll answer this:

Floyd shouldn’t have accused but he had every right to ask and demand for additional testing or no fight.

Checking your blood is the same as checking gloves. Fair play.

Remember, Pac turned down the offer the first time. Then tried to negotiate a deal which FLoyd wasn’t going to except. Then he turned down 40 million later on.

It’s not like pac couldn’t have made the fight. He even decided to stick with Arum and not become his own promoter which would have helped out a lot. Look at how Cotto got his fight. left Arum and signed right up with Floyd and made the most money he has ever made.

Its always been about the money. Even blood and guts warriors like Marciano were smart enough to know its PRIZE fighting.

Do you know why they wanted to fight the best back then?
Because of the MONEY. Same reason why everyone wants to fight Floyd. Because of the money.

It’s just back then you had to fight the Name, the best Fighter in order to get fans to boost up the purse. Sure, you can make some money fighting every few weeks to pay the bills but the Big Fights were when you filled a stadium and that takes the best fighting the best.

Today, fighters are more spoiled. You can make 500K to 1+ million on a fight on Showtime/HBO fighting a subpar guy. Even 200K is a good day compared to the fighters salaries back in the day.

VIVEK says “If he sticks to the basics without letting his recently wavering emotional state get the best of him, it’s his fight to lose.”

“Moments after the weigh-in, one source sent a paraphrased text message yesterday that said “Right now he’s dealing with some life circumstances and he’s a bit on edge. I can’t deny that. But the worst thing that could have happened is that tomorrow night he gets to take that all out on someone without worrying about the law coming after him. That’s a dangerous thing!” Truth of the matter, it is a dangerous thing. But one has to question exactly who it’s dangerous for, until the final bell rings. Is it dangerous for Mayweather, as he contends with countless distractions?”

“Distractions”??

So basically Vivek, you’re is predicting a Floyd 12 round knockout and… in the event that he loses then it’s Miss Jackson’s fault??

Seems like you’ve got Floyd’s excuse already made for him just in case. Does Floyd know this??

both teach you that if you are going to live, find something you really want to do, work hard, and take a risk.

That’s something I want to be able to follow and do.

Not everyone exceeds exactly like that, but you do only live once, and if you have no other responsibilities, which is why youth is important, take a risk. Just make sure to continue to build your mind and be smart. The more you have, the more people want from you. If you can handle it, juggle the game, play the game, it does seem worth hit. Much better than the 9-5 grueling labor job with 10 bosses breathing down your neck, contradicting themselves, making a low wage, hating life…..F that.

I just don’t want to sit up here and bash them because overall, they are still competing on a high level in a sport that is extremely hard Mentally, Physically, and technically. They took risks to get to where they are when most won’t.

If you look at Pac’s story from where he began to where he is now, just Amazing and inspirational.
If you look at Floyd’s story, although I wouldn’t say nearly as hard as Pac’s as Floyd was born into a fighting family, born in the USA (even if poor still leaves you with a better chance than the Philippines)…but his work ethic, his drive to succeed, his vision, longevity is admirable.

To me, Pac and May are one in the same. Carefully matched at certain points in time. And use timing to their advantage. Even throw in catchweights.

I don’t favor either that high even though I do think they are both great.
My view, I wouldn’t favor them fighting Duran at his best, Hearns, SRR, SRL at 147 at their best. And the list goes on.

It’s all a bit weird.

Mansworld, I know you’re a big boxing fan. So, I’m sure you’ll agree with me that the tim who faced ruslan was somebody trying to provea point that he could brawl & the tim that faced manny knew that the only way to win the fight is to ko pac. Set those aside, and match the real tim against floyd’s conquests and he can go through them with better performance. Floyd have been fighting mediocre opponents eversince he moved north of 135#! That’s why he looks great.

Old Mosely knocked Margarito out. Oscar would have done hte same. Corley was at 140 and so was Gatti. Mitchell was the first fight at 147. Baldomir wouldn’t beat them. Hatton would have beaten Rios.
JMM knocked out Pac.

Clottey wasn’t that good but he was big and strong. Rios lost to Alvarado and would have a hard time with Robert.

Old Mosely was also “to good’ according to Roach for Manny to fight him so they waited.

that said, Mosely was still past his prime against Margarito as well as Oscar when he fought Floyd. Their peaks were when they fought each other.

JMM also lost to Floyd at 147 and knocked Pac out in that division. When asked about a rematch with Floyd now that he beat Pac, JMM said there is no point. Styles make fights would hold true in this case.

He does make some points. Manny is known to be matched up guys that are coming off losses in their recent past.

Floyd’s problem is that he is fighting guys on winning streaks and big wins but most of them leave little to spike up the adrenaline.

Lawsuits were a part of Rome’s demise. They went from fighting it out like men to fighting in courts.

All Everlast has to do is take those exact gloves, and open them up in front of a camera to be inspected. That’s what MEN do. And given Everlast is in a company that sponsors MEN, that’s what they should do.

The benefit: She won’t need his money, won’t need to run off like some dog who sees another master has food too, she can hold her own in confidence which will allow her to fight back which real men of power like, and most of all…a Great Women will be able to make another Man, a Great Man (in his field), even better all around.

Anonymous, depends GBP care about over all sales, Floyd. Are about ppv as that he take almost all of it. It’s average out, to what he payed per fight. 32 million each fight is about 1.5 million in ppv sales there include movies theaters, what Iam really saying ppv sales are garantee slow. Floyd know the numbers compared he behind that why he pumping. But more buys are south America and are push by Richard / GBP media in South America. Theaters it’s well knowed.

Doesn’t matter what we say people will buy or not. And ppv should be slow. So say really what you think.the fight will be like. I think this fight will be more exciting than Floyd more boring boxing sparing fight. And I not buying it.just saying the truth .
Posted May 3, 2014 3:00 pm

from my understanding, PPV numbers that are announced are domestic buys as USA has the most money to spend and more places around the world actually don’t do PPV for our fights. USA fans are carrying the burden. I really don’t know how World Wide views are counted.

Or are you saying people of “South American” origin are buying this fight?

Or Mexican American like they did with Canelo?

I don’t know. I would have to see a break down of where the numbers are coming from. If anyone has one, please direct me to it. It’s always an interesting thing given my interest in business in general.

I’m not really into this fight. I think its a waste of a fight. Not worth $70. I’m not telling people to boycott it though like these strange fanboys on here. I always leave the choice to the viewer. If you want to watch, watch, if you don’t, don’t. Who cares.

The lead up to this fight has been horrible. Issue after issue after issue all to try and sell this awful fight card. You can’t fool people all the time. Mayweather and his company best try acting with some dignity and start treating fans and the general public with some respect. His ranting and raving about his ex fiancee’s abortion, Nelly now dating her, the glove issues and the constant complaint from boxing fans to have Mayweather fight the greatest fighter of all time, Manny “Pac Man” Pacquiao all point to desperation from a fighter and his company slowly but surely being exposed for who they really are. This PPV is failing. People aren’t going to shell out $60-$70 for this circus act. Boxing has become nothing more than a circus act every time Floyd Mayweather fights. People see right through him now. Thanks Floyd Mayweather for making the great sport of boxing seem like a big joke.

Of course maidana will eat jabs going in, and get the straight hand lead.and will lose on points every round . But to box Floyd from the outside is what fighter that fight

a boxer that Floyd alway faces throw a jab and punch and misses and Floyd counter right back. Maidana throw a jab and step inside and has a 2 th and 3 th punch on its way in a combo.
Floyd returned a counter punch and get hit with the unexpected 2 or third punch.

So maidana basisiclly take away most of Floyd outside counter punch. So floyd will likely jab more counter and jump back. But maidana will be more all chase, he has a jab, include a body hook with the lobbing over the top.

Same as a bat your trying to beat someone woth it.you can swing cross swings but he can duck but if you mix in some clubbing down swing he can’t duck that.

Maidana has to take 3-4 hit to land 1 punch bassiclly, he can’t do it half way, he has to back up Floyd.
So it’s will be a hard UD win for Floyd, the pressure really on Floyd to preform. He cannot get a UD completely he not as good in ranking as he thinks.

Vivek predicting Floyd and Collazo by late TKO suggests this card will have drama and fireworks. I don’t think it will. Floyd by UD, Collazo by SD, Broner by TKO and Love by UD.

Let Floyd fight a other fighter like a black or white guy or even khan Floyd won’t get the results he wants in ppvs the reason he is making $$$$ is because he is fighting a Latino fighter man….let’s get that straight!!!

2+ million PPV buys isn’t the number Floyd and GBP care about as much as the total amount of MILLIONS in dollars that can be counted.

If Floyd isn’t the biggest reason why the PPV sales are up in his fights, then why aren’t other fighters (of spanish origin specifically) doing the same?

Vivek- when was the last time Floyd had a TKO? Yea, your answer tells me you are worst at predicting than writing about boxing. Butthead Vivek!!

Perhaps Maidana doesn’t stand a chance, but I don’t think one should use Canelo-Floyd as a prediction that Maidana will be an easier fighter for Floyd. True, Canelo is a much bigger and perhaps a much more technical fighter than El Chino, but that’s also the main reason Canelo looked so amateur against Floyd. He tried to beat Floyd against his own game. At the moment, there’s no fighter out there that can outbox Floyd…Canelo tried and got exposed be time.

I think EL Chino understands that and he knows he has to make it as ugly as he can to have a chance. He also knows, as he stated, that Floyd is not Broner and he can’t afford to throw wild punches due to Floyd’s ability to counterpunch.
I’m with the majority who believe that Maidana is not going to win this fight. He had lots of problems against Alexander and Alexander is a long shot for being as technical sound as Floyd. But El Chino has power and if he can land one or two hard punches he may get Floyd to change his game plan. No matter what, he has to stick to his plan and can’t afford to lose hope.

I wish him luck, but as much I’d love to see Floyd laying on the canvas…it ain’t goin to happen. Floyd by unanimous decision.

Floyd is getting his ppv sales from Mexico and south America. How GBP from Richard experience has about 50 banks in south America, and he has a media conection set up there that take cares of fight too. Floyd need a average of 1.5 million ppv per fight, canelo he went over, so there balance.

Also in south America and Mexico Floyd fight are showned in theaters as moves but are consider as ppv sales. . But dont worry Floyd is really pumping USA sales two times , first was last chance to see me before I retire, now he leaving after 3 more fight open. And he now trying to get the good guys guys sales by cancers good will.

For the last few year Floyd fought slow boxer who didn’t want to get inside. Guys who wanted to box.not fight inside . Chino, want to trade Floyd don’t want too. The fun to see Floyd run all night and sweat and get its well worth the money. Floyd will get a struggling UD or a SD but this is going to be more entertaining than Floyd most boring boxing fights. As Chino want to take Floyd head off all night vs boxing all night. Sure he going to eat punches, but he also in position to give back vs slow boxer Floyd alway fight.

My excitement is Floyd thinks is another slow fighter and a easy fight. He get another hatten this fight. And have to work very hard all night and will he get hit this time.

Maidana will get paid a guaranteed 1.5 million and Fkiyd will get an initial 37 million. Where is the justice on that! I hope people will boycott this fight and whoever is involve with everything here will lose money and dump Floyd greedy azz and force him to fight real contenders.

Squared-Circle Real Talk (a.k.a. LionKing)

Boycott this complete & total mismatch!!! Don’t pay a dime to see this garbage when you can watch it online for FREE.

Chino spent his whole career at 140lbs and just recently moved up to WW. He’s only 5’7″ with a 69″ reach and is SLOW as molasses. Just because he beat the highly-overrated Broner does NOT mean he belongs in the same ring as FMJ. He doesn’t!

Chino got beat by Alexander, Khan and Kotelnik for Christ’s sake. This fight is not worth watching because it’s far from competitive and is already a foregone conclusion:
FMJ will win by wide UD.

To beat Floyd you have to make him pay, and that mean you have to be close or inside. Outside you lose why because the only reason you got the fight is because your are slow.out side boxing him his long reach and good bobbing head mean you could not hit that head. He avoild it.

All his fighter made that mistake trying boxing him and run up points. Wrong..your going to get jabbed and pot shot but he has to pay.

Maidana will get jabbed and pot shot getting onside ever time but his 2-5 Counter punch combo. Has to get Floyd going backward. As then you have Floyd fighting your fight, and he also punch weaker going backward .
Control the fight maidana, but paste yourself as this is a 12 round fight.

Alexander an khan stays in the pocket? Nope both are boxer and canelo , Mosley cotto, are boxers too. All never get a ko inside slugging. All ko are done from the outside first. wide shoulder get out slug inside. Pluss They need room to crankuo. You.beat a boxer From the onside, as Floyd turn into a slugger for canelo.

This Fight wrong for Floyd, because this is a replacement fighter, origanallly khan was chosen by GBP but Floyd wanted maidana, it’s bad luck Floyd the last fight that did that was axexander, porter wrear his belt now, khan before that, and ton of fighter all lost on replacement fighter.

Maidana is a pure slugger, far from what opponate Floyd have fought.the last pure slugger Floyd fought was Ricky hatten and it’s was a split decission fight till ricky was too predicable in left hands leads. Maidan advantage is he throw combos so Floyd will not stand around as maidana combo throw where he belive Floyd will
Be next. This comes from experience and Floyd dont know where it will land, it’s call unpredictable punches the 2-punches and lobbing over the top lobbing and mix lobbing punches.

I see a struggle UD or even a spit decission floyd, his hardest fight on a while. He have to escape and pot shot all night to if maidana slow down at the end.

Maidana looks like a Lightweight alongside Mayweather who looks more like a true Welterweight. There are other good Welters out there who would have been more of a threat to Mayweather than Maidana. Maidanas only chance appears to be early in the fight if he is lucky enough to get in a telling blow.

Let’s see, Tarver wasn’t supposed to beat Jones jr. Then again, he did beat him in the amateurs and Jones was coming back down in weight so maybe we should have seen it coming.
Douglas wasn’t supposed to beat Tyson, then again, Douglas was a legit Athlete, standing 6’4, 230 pounds, finally got his act together, put together a solid win streak including beating Oliver McCall, was trained by a Former Pro Boxer from childhood, his Father, and went on to take out Tyson. Of course, most missed that Tyson was partying for a while, was decaying in and outside of the gym and was ready to be taken.
So let’s see.
McCall knocked out Lewis. That was a surprise.
Sanders knocked out Wlad. That was a surprise.
Although we didn’t see the questionable chin thing until after.
JMM, although a future HOF, was 40+ when he knocked out Pac cold.

Trying think about A class vs. B class upsets though.

how about Mayorga beating Forrest?

At 37 years of age, always one foot out the door, messy outside the ring issues, eventually, it could catch up. And it doesn’t have to be against another “A” class fighter.

Will it happen tonight? I don’t know. The odds aren’t in Maidana’s favor but sometimes history does find upsets.

Even if Maidana were six foot and 180lbs he wouldn’t beat Mayweather. His footwork is too slow and many of his punches are looping/wide. Canelo was a more credible opponent.

BOXING MACHINE

Wassup Viv, this ya boy Calico Streets, man I can’t wait for this even though the outcome is foregone conclusion. It’s about the art, I like seeing the art of it. Fact of the matter is maidana only has 1 chance and it’s not even a punchers chance it’s a lucky chance. He has to hope that Floyd runs into something big that he doesn’t see coming. Maidana is at a huge disadvantage because we all know Floyd has watched his fights because Floyd has spoken of them. That means unlike Floyd’s other opponents who come into the ring and by rd4 Floyd has figured them out and taken away their best weapon, he already knows about maidana’s weird, awkward overhand right witch is his best weapon. Soothe adjustment ha already been made, that overhand right is already sitting on Floyd’s shelf somewhere….now what? It’s over. The fighters that aren’t smart enough to adjust to mayweathers pace are the one that get stopped. Chino will either slow his ass down and look like he’s not trying or get stopped for continuing to apply ineffective pressure and paying for his mistakes.
