Marcos Maidana won the fight 116-114 without question. I watched it a few times without bias in any way and without the volume. Fans around the world are correct in saying Floyd Mayweather got away with robbery against Maidana as he has in the past against Oscar De La Hoya and Jose Luis Castillo. Floyd Mayweather is not looked upon as an undefeated fighter because he’s really not. He was hit, roughed up and his constant holding because he couldn’t deal with a tough fighter made him panic and hold on for life. Holding, hugging or tying up as many put it is illegal. The referee should have taken points away. Holding is like putting your hands up and telling your opponent that he’s too much to handle. Marcos Maidana won 5 of the first 6 rounds. Look at the replay and see for yourself. He was landing the jab on Floyd when he wanted to. Floyd was missing by miles, and many of his punches were off the mark. He did have a few clean ones, but the crowd screamed even though the punch was a glancing blow or didn’t land. Maidana was the better man, and Floyd and his fans know this. Some people need to learn how to score a professional boxing match not an amateur boxing match. Maidana was effective throughout the fight. The 114-114 scorecard was more like it, but the truth is that one blind judge that should be banned for life had Mayweather winning 117-111?? What a pathetic joke. Regardless, Mayweather has been exposed, and the boxing world knows full well why Mayweather never wanted to fight the legendary, 8 division boxing champion and Fighter of the Decade. I knew all along Floyd Mayweather could not deal with Manny’s fighting style. Manny would have simply knocked Floyd Mayweather out cold. Too fast, strong, and brutalizing power in this southpaw fighting machine. The debate is over. The great Manny Pacquiao is the unanimous best fighter of his era as the Fighter of The Decade voted on by the best sports writers in the country voted Manny Pacquiao as being the best. What we all saw on Saturday night finally answered the question. Who was better, Floyd Mayweather or Manny Pacquiao. The winner, Manny Pacquiao. His legacy will live forever. His fights are memorable and exciting. The boxing world loves this man. Manny Pacquiao is a living legend, and he obviously doesn’t need Floyd Mayweather for anything. Floyd Mayweather is done.Posted May 6, 2014 10:37 am

Gentlemen, I’m hoping that some of you MAYWEATHER fans can give me an answer to some information I’m going to share with you, and also some thoughts from Maidana fans that truly believe Maidana won. I’ve said on many occasions that Floyd fights in Las Vegas for a reason. He should have lost against Oscar, Castillo and Maidana. Someone please explain the same the following:

Maidana shold have tee shirt made up saying “I Was the first to beat up both broner And it felt good” LOLPosted May 4, 2014 11:27 pm
Sad day for Floyd fans.
Big Ups, Alexander beat maidana easier a UD. Khan beat him in a UD. And Floyd struggle with a split decision. Axexander is a c- rated fighter porter distroyed Alex . And Floyd can’t handle maidana. We barely we might get a rematch.
Floyd was expected to ko maidana as he said. Or at lease stop him.
props to maidana! just watched the fight for free! haymon wouldn’t let his cash cow lose by all means… but i was satisfied that maidana made floyd earn his paycheck!!!Posted May 4, 2014 10:02 pm

punch, i agree with all your points BUT know there is no “computer analysis.” the shots counted are – are you ready for it – counted by human beings. NOT computers.Posted May 4, 2014 6:54 pm
Mayweather’s disgraceful post-fight press conference behavior put him back on my “must hate,” list- and just when I thought he was ‘approved’ as a human being. He didn’t fight that way because he wanted to “give the fans a what they wanted,” he fought that way as he had no choice.
That said, hate him – or hate him, LOL, PPF was the clear victor last night. What neophytes or folks who’ve never boxed or been to a live bout fail to realize, is that boxing really requires that you know the sport. For instance, a typical pattern was MM would throw awkward and in some cases silly, looping right hands, a couple of which really clipped Floyd, hard. But Floyd’s counters clearly hurt MM – a man who was down from the punches of Victor Ortiz, no George Foreman in power, twice. Maidana winced at the explosive, very fast counters, FM threw.
To say any more is to waste breath: American fight ‘fans’ grew up on football, baseball and basketball. Just like driving, those 3 sports to watch or ‘do,’ take enormous skill and one has to be properly ‘bred’ with them to understand them. Boxing is at least as nuanced, but Americans simply don’t GO to fights live (mostly, ever) or, unlike England for example, where until very recently it was taught as part of P.E., never boxed and are therefore, oblivious to the real game of boxing. A European would take years to understand the fine points of American football. Boxing takes EVEN MORE years.
Those who know the game – love or hate Floyd, know he won clearly and somewhat closely. My view is that he won 116-112. Round 3 for is a good example: sure Floyd was clipped hard; but if you watch the replay, you’ll notice how Floyd’s connects were far more hurtful the MM’s. Floyd’s shots put an end to anywhere near 100 punches a round which is the way MM started out.
Again, with Floyd’s despicable behavior boxing loses. But in terms of “a fight,” PBF won clearly.Posted May 4, 2014 6:51 pm
The ridiculous Mayweather code and blue print was deciphered last night by the Victorious warrior, Marcos Maidana, Actually there was no code because Oscar and Castillo had already beaten Floyd Mayweather, but the true code to defeat Mayweather is as follows: Never hire Nevada judges in any of Floyd Mayweather’s fight, never fight Floyd in Las Vegas, keep 24 hour surveillance on the NSAC and Floyd Mayweather so they cannot have any personal talks between them regarding fights, and hire a referee that actually takes points away and warns Floyd for holding so much. Holding is illegal in boxing. That’s why there is a referee. Marcos Maidana just simply made it more obvious to boxing fans that Mayweather is more hype than substance when fighting someone that has no respect for his boxing ability or power. There’s really nothing to like about Floyd Mayweather the person. Last night, the fans in attendance we’re booing the decision loudly. There was even a riot type incident that led to some people getting hurt. Floyd Mayweather proved to the boxing world that he is a very good boxer, but far from being. A one dimensional fighter like Maidana ran right through him. Yes he roughed him up a bit, but Floyd had no room for complaining after he sucker punched a defenseless Victor Ortiz in their fight. Floyd Mayweather is a whining, crying complaining, spoiled disrespectful boxer and human being. He lacks any decency as a person, and the dislike people have for him is deserved. Earlier Floyd had the audacity to say that the Clippers owner, Donald Sterling was a great guy???? Later in the week he posted the Instagram picture of the abortion his ex fiancee supposedly had. He then tops it off in the post fight press conference by criticizing Marcos Maidana in every way. This is a classless individual that has never grown up. Floyd Mayweather proved in his fight last night that he cannot stand alongside the great fighters like, Hearns, Duran, Leonard, Benitez, Pacquiao, Mosely, Oscar, Robinson and many more. Floyd should rank in the bottom half of the 50 best fighters of all time. Floyd is as I have said, a great athlete, but not a true fighter. He proved this last night. Others had beaten Maidana in much more convincing ways. Marcos Maidana is the new king as long as he avoids fighting the legendary Manny Pacquiao. The only 8 division Boxing champion in history. The true warrior that avoids no one and the greatest fighter of all time. The Mayweather myth is just that, a myth.Posted May 4, 2014 6:14 pm

Floyd Mayweather lost to Marcos Maidana last night, and that was clear except to the blind LAS VEGAS judges as usual. Marcos did everything he needed to do to win, and he is the champion in the eyes of the public. Effective pressure, volume punching and an in your face boxing style overwhelmed Mayweather from the start. Marcos Maidana was landing solid jabs all night out. Floyd Mayweather did the only thing he does when a fight gets tough, he held on for dear life, which by the way is ILLEGAL! Referee Tony Weeks took points away from Kahn, but did nothing but hinder Marcos Maidana from being even more effective. The fans knew it. We all saw a clear victory for Maidana, but as usual, Floyd Mayweather fighting in Las Vegas, which is the only place he will ever fight seems to have a lot of power and pull on all of his fights. Jose Luis castillo beat him and was robbed, Oscar De La Hoya beat him and was robbed and now Marcos Maidana beats him, and guess what? Marcos got robbed. Judge Clements had the fight scored for Mayweather by a ridiculous score of 117-111???? This guy needs to be abolished from boxing as does Judge Moretti. I’ve watched this fight a few times, and I can say without bias that Marcos Maidana was the clear victor last night if you know how to score a fight objectively ans use ALL criteria to score a round. And fans know full well why Floyd Maywether wanted no part of the legendary Manny Pacquiao. Marcos Maidan with all due respect best not be barking at the wrong tree if he thinks he can deal with the legend that is Manny Pacquiao. Manny knocks out Maidana inside of 6 rounds, trust me on this. Floyd Mayweather was exposed as the fighter all boxing fans knew he was. He could never handle Manny Pacquiao’s offensive, brutal southpaw, awkward style of fighting. Manny would be 10 times more difficult with his speed and power and feints than was Maidana last night. The Post fight press conference was nothing more than an ego maniac that had to hog the stage because he knew he lost. Floyd went on ranting and raving about the low blows and elbosw and all this other garbage so that he could give fans and excuse as to why he got beat, and then to have an entourage of his dummies on stage was a joke. Marcos Maidana basically said stop you’re talking and I will give you a rematch. Maidana knew he won. The sport of boxing has become a big joke ever since Al Haymon and Showtime’s puppets (commentators) have been trying to monopolize the sport of boxing. They seem to have way too much power with all aspects of a Mayweather fight. The glove issue was a joke if they had already been approved by the commission. I can now see how money can buy power. Floyd Mayweather sure seemed to be anxious and wanted the entire press conference to himself because he knew he lost. No more talk about being great, no more talk about being being in the same level as Manny Pacquiao, no more talk about how he could have handle any greats past or present. The truth of the matter is that Floyd was crying and complaining and received a big gift by those that live in Nevada and are judges. Congratulations to Marcos Maidana, a man with class, dignity and the real winner of last night’s fight.Posted May 4, 2014 1:29 pm

Floyd haters are cretins of the highest caliber they keep saying Maidana won but computer stats tells a different story even in the face of this evidence they still can’t make a coherent deduction. I have watched the fight again and gave the first 3 rounds to Maidana, gave the next four to Floyd and the 3 out of the remaing 5 rounds to Floyd whilst giving Maidana the last round. Floyd had Maidana stunned and hurt a few times and that counts more besides the fact that he had a higher connection rate.Posted May 4, 2014 11:47 am

Interesting fight. Money won the fight; however, it has raised some issues about Money’s ability to move. Maidana is a B+/A- fighter. The Pac/Money fight is 5 years overdue. Clearly BOTH are not what they once were. Before this fight, I would have thought that Money handles Pac with no problem because of his ability to move and fight at a distance. Now this is just one fight that Money did not display his great footwork. However, fighter can and do get old in one fight. It happens to the best. Money said in a post fight interview that he fought with less movement to give the people a exciting fight. That could be true–I think Maidana had something to do with lack of movement. I don’t think a rematch is necessary. There is plenty of A/A+ fighter at 147 (One Time, Porter and Pac) that will bring in more money. Time to step up Money.Posted May 4, 2014 9:28 am
I am not a boxing expect but an avid and passionate one. I watched the fight from Holland with former dutch World featherweight champion Regio Tuur, and a sucessful amature heavyweight olympic bronze medalist. According to them Maidana won the fight and he won all the rounds from 1-5 even though Mayweather had some precise punches landed on Maidana. Do you all believe that Floyd won all the rounds from 6-12 ie 7 rounds? Why not any international judges like Ndolou from South Africa or any European Judge. In Europe in most fights we have judges from South Africa, the U.S. referee from the U.S. most of the times and sometimes the ring announcer “Let’s get ready to Raaaamboooooo”Posted May 4, 2014 9:28 am
Mayweather lost the fight last night. He didn’t do much the first half of the fight, you can not win a fight throwing 30 to 35 pounds a round and the other guy throws 3 times as much, but he didn’t get credit for the half the punches he land. Sure he didn’t hit Mayweather in the face a lot the way Mayweather covered up, but Miadana did get punches in on the head, body and arms, and those punches landed clean to count. Mayweather lost the last 2 rounds which were the telling rounds for the winner of this fight.Posted May 4, 2014 9:25 am

Floyd clearly won. Darn right it was controversial because it should have been by a UD, not by majority decision. One judge thought it was even, fair enough because the fight was close.
But, man, Maidana didn’t understand how the game works inside the ring. Tony Weeks was allowing him to lean on Floyd against the ropes. He didn`t have to resort to hitting Floyd at the back of the head, he didn`t have to lead with his head. All his dirty tactics forced Tony Weeks to break them apart sooner in the latter rounds than the earlier rounds. If only Maidana knew those intricacies. But then again, without fighting dirty he would have not been able to get close.
In the end, the better fighter prevailed. It should have been by UD. Maidana fought a gallant (dirty) fight, but Floyd came out the winner.
Who`s gonna be victim #47? Pacquiao shivering in fear, shaking under Arum’s skirt. Don’t worry Pac as long as you stay with Arum you are safe. LOL.Posted May 4, 2014 8:12 am

The fight was a draw. If there’s to be a rematch it should be IN MAIDANA’s HOMETOWN this time, with Argentinian referees.
Yes, I know. But given that they were both world champions and the ending was controversial, wouldn’t that be REASONABLE and FAIR?
Why does everyone assume that it’s fine for Floyd to always fight in the town where he lives, with hometown judges, whereas everyone else has to travel? Why should Floyd always have all the advantages stacked in his favour?

Floyd is complaining like a spoilt child, complaining about the gloves, the referee, the supposed “holding and hitting” etc.
As if it wasn’t enough that he was fighting in his own country, in the town where he lives, with a ref clearly biased in his favour (even if not enough for Floyd’s liking).
Did anyone hear Maidana complain after the fight about Floyd stopping him from wearing the gloves he always wears, about him holding and clinching and using his elbows etc.?
No, because Maidana is a fighter, not a cowardly prima donna.
If Floyd had any balls or sense of fair play he’d agree to fight the rematch in Argentina, with non-American judges, and let Maidana wear whatever gloves he usually does.Posted May 4, 2014 7:31 am

ATG my ass.
The Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) agreed with not using the blue gloves and said that they would not allow the gloves. The Maidana camp switched to the “stock” red Everlast MX gloves. These were approved by the NSAC, but the Mayweather camp continues to object, saying that they aren’t going to fight if Maidana wears the Everlast gloves.
Team Mayweather is attempting to force Maidana to use Grant gloves, the same that Mayweather uses. Everlast are known as “puncher’s gloves,” preferred by most of the sport’s heavy hitters while Grants are a favorite of men like Floyd, who have a history of hand injuries.
It appears that the Maidana camp offered to compromise by wearing a pair of Cleto Reyes gloves, but Mayweather’s camp objected to those as well. Reyes gloves are probably the most “puncher friendly” gloves in the top end of the boxing glove market, so it makes sense that the Mayweather camp would object to them if they were objecting to Everlast.
The issue here is that Mayweather’s camp literally has no leg to stand on here. The NSAC approved the stock Everlast MX gloves, and the Cleto Reyes gloves, that means Maidana can wear them. That’s really the end of the discussion as far as the Maidana Camp responsibility extends. They have gloves they want to use, the commission has approved them.
The Mayweather camp is stating that they will not fight if they don’t get their way.Posted May 4, 2014 7:21 am
For those that care, FM still forced Madiana to use foam filled Everlast gloves even tho the NSAC approved Madiana to use the Mexican puncher Everlast glove filled with horse hair. Sad part is, FM still lost with Madiana wearing pillows.Posted May 4, 2014 7:10 am
Most of you don’t know how to score a fight, Mayweather clearly won the fight. He landed more by throwing 50% less than Maidana… Stop the hate!Posted May 4, 2014 6:54 am
Muhammad Ali asks Floyd Mayweather to fight Manny PacquiaoPosted May 4, 2014 6:50 am
NOW U CAN C WHY FLOYD HAS AVOIDED PRIME FIGHTERS. ON THAT PERFORMANCE PAC WINS EVEN NOW. FLOYD SAYS HE WANTED TO GIVE THE FANS WHAT THEY WANTED BY MAKING IT A DOG FIGHT,TRUTH IS HE HAD NO CHOICE AND NEW THIS GOING INTO THE FIGHTPosted May 4, 2014 6:25 am
I am no FMJ fan but why cant people see this for what it was, a past his prime top level fighter (no GOAT but definitely although it pains me to say it an ATG) in a close fight against a hungry dangerous prime opponent. I scored it a draw but couldn’t argue with a Floyd win although I really wanted Marcos to get the decision. We moan when FMJ wins easily and shout mismatch and when he is in a close one we shout robbery or say Cherrypicker vs Bum. Those who call Maidana a bum know absolutely nothing about boxing!Posted May 4, 2014 6:25 am
PBF circus brings $100m bucks into Vegas the week he’s fighting. A JUdge moved his sentence so he could fight b4 doing stir BECAUSE powerful people are sucking on the Mayweather teet in Vegas. Anyone thinking this cash cow gets a loss b4 he retires is stupid.Posted May 4, 2014 6:24 am
Floyd has lost twice now. Once to JLC and now Madiana. I had Mad winning rnds 1-2-3-4-5-8-11. Now you see why FM avoided a prime Pac, PW, Sergio Mar, and Cotto at 140. If you have the energy to keep coming at FM with non stop punches. FM really doesn’t know what to do except hold. Now on to the great Khan. Viva Mayweather.Posted May 4, 2014 6:09 am
floyd says rematch if the fans want it. the fans wanted amir khan fight the last time he asked, and he fought maidana.Posted May 4, 2014 5:55 am
mayweather is 37 years of age and past his best. and still no one can beat him, canelo maidana and the rest dont appear to be as great as you lot made them out to be. LOL.Posted May 4, 2014 5:34 am
Pac and Mayweather need to fight now…its way past the prime date…but any later and the fight will mean nothing at all,its now or never for these two…Posted May 4, 2014 5:27 am

dabilly, its not that floyd cant afford to lose. More like showtime cant afford to lose.Posted May 4, 2014 5:19 am
An expected result. Boxing, skills, ring-IQ and defence won. Maidana’s only moments were the low blows and couple of elbows that almost did harm. Yet, Mayweather took them like a man and didn’t start the whining you see so often nowadays. A good fight nevertheless, but no need for a rematch. It would be repetition.Posted May 4, 2014 5:18 am
For once I think Maywether lost this fight. They just cannot give it to Maidana all because of the money they will make from maywether.Between round 1 to 8 maywether won only two rounds. He came into the fight from round 9.from this stats Madiana won by 7 rounds to meywether 5 rounds .a draw will better but they just wont do that.Posted May 4, 2014 5:17 am
What a good fight on both fighter’s rematch even better now the haters will say Floyd looked old rather than giving him prop for fighting a champ and winning I can say pac can’t beat neither one of themPosted May 4, 2014 5:16 am

To think that Floyd was saying very recently of how amateurish pacquiao and Bradley looked in their fight. I am not sure if the mayweather-maidana fight is better than the brad-pac fight. Foyd and Pac are now cleaarly on the decline And if they ever fight, they wil be fighting a little too late.Posted May 4, 2014 5:15 am
i hope mayweather retires and takes his fans with him… I’m tired of this circus…Posted May 4, 2014 4:58 am
Really Good fight for Maidana. Fought the right fight.Posted May 4, 2014 4:50 am
Ali and Jones jr, once their legs diminished in stamina, fights became harder and harder. It was a sign that not only was there legs lacking stamina, but overall they had to pace themselves more because their stamina overall was decreasing. All started to fight in spots. Floyd has been doing that for some time. Its just that Cotto and Maidana exposed that.Posted May 4, 2014 4:50 am
Floyd’s following bouts to restore his rep if he can:
Maidana rematch in September. Pac fight early next year.
He looked every bit his age tonight. I’ve been saying it for a while and never understood how people were saying he looked as good as ever in each of his last few bouts. He has been slipping for a while. All you had to do is watch his fight with Corrales then put on his latest fight. Or put on a fight when he was 27 and then watch now at 37Posted May 4, 2014 4:40 am
someone needs to lay this negroid out！this is bs！this fight should of at least been a draw.Posted May 4, 2014 4:34 am
