He still can’t protect himself… If he fougth anyone good.

Those of you who claim that khan is a dirty fighter just because he was holding collazo but call mayweather a master of defence for doing the same with Maidana you need to GET A LIFE!

I thought most people were criticizing khan before because he couldn’t fight in the ropes and didn’t protect himself ?unbelivable ….

Anonymous: Interesting observation… However, Floyd didn’t struggle at all in May with Guerrero… I think it’s just that Floyd miscalculated with Cotto and Maidana and they simply turned out to be better than Floyd bargain for.

An observation

Since Floyd came back from his self-imposed retirement and embarked on his May and September fight schedules I have noticed that he’s always had a harder than usual fight in May as opposed to his fight in September.

Could this be that the 4 round turn around between May and September actually sharpens his tools as opposed to an 8 month layoff between September and May?

I might be wrong but the following I found interesting:

May 2010 Shane Mosley W UD 12
Sep 2011 Victor Ortiz W KO 4
May 2012 Miguel Cotto W UD 12
May 2013 Robert Guerrero W UD 12
Sep 2013 Canelo Alvarez W MD 12
May 2014 Marcos Maidana W MD 12

He seems to struggle a little in the May fights before adjusting, but looks a million dollars in his September showings. Just an observation.

Who we won’t see Floyd against is Porter, Lara, or Pacquiao… He just won’t fight them… Ditto Thurman

Doesn’t want his “O” to go

Vivek said- “We’ve seen him routinely against men who were much, much bigger. He overcame.”

Well, Alvarez is really the ONLY ‘bigger man’ Floyd ever faced, and I won money on that one because I said on the day they announced that Canelo was tailor-made to Floyd’s liking… I.E., Great upper body speed, power, and skill, but legs of stone with a turtle’s forward momentum, that Floyd could as usual easily target from a distance, then use his fleet feet to slip away to do it all again for an easy, though boring UD victory. Same as he did with Gatti, Marquez, Ortiz, and Guerrero, and to a lessor degree, Cotto. I am sorry Floyd is an above average fighter, but a great conman and illusionist, who refuses to face anyone who has his equal or better attributes… Fighters such as Khan, Martinez, PACQUIAO, and fans can also forget any notion of Floyd ever facing the likes of rising stars such as Porter or Thurman… Because like Pacquiao and Khan, they are too close to Floyd’s skill set for comfort. I just wonder what excuse he’d give when the PED assertions and purse splits don’t matter.

Standing alone @ Tier One must be lonely at times, but your valor is much respected by us common aspiring folk. To be so generous with your gifting of points is honorable, yet at the same time viciously revoking them as needed is just pure beauty in its simplest form. Being Gonzo is a responsibility bestowed on you, and you handle it like Maidana handled Broner…

You have made a mistake now boy.

You don`t have to worry about who Gonzo is, you need to worry about what he is. He is a force of n@ture. He has f-c-u-k-d a hurric@ne. When he was born, even his d@ddy called him d@ddy.

Imagine if you will a Tsun@mi, but rather than being made of water, it is comprised of pure Ande@n Cond0r mixed with l@shings of Clint E@stwood circa 1964, Fistful of Doll@rs er@.

Now imagine that Tsun@mi g@thering it`s force up on Tier one, which I can tell you extends upwards of 22,000 feet, and is a place where ordin@ry humans would require Oxygen m@sks, so as I say imagine it g@thering it`s force, growing and growing, lightening flicker!ng, the smell of ozone in the air and word-pairings, and syll@bals clash together.
Then there is a creak as the Golden doors of tier one are pulled open by Tera P@trick and Scarlett Joh@nnson wearing nothing but smiles, and a hungry look for e@ch other.

You have a moments silence where you have the ins@ne hope that nothing will happen.

But then, suddenly there it is.

A million cubic tons of Vulture E@stwood Dragonborn fury pouring from the sky, slicing it`s way towards your very soul.

At the tip of this Tsnum@i you`ll see a sneer!ng pair of lips form, which as they grow closer draw back to reveal a set of kn@shers intent on dam@ge.

Realising your error you back away, head twisting, seek!ng an esc@pe.

You tr!p and fall onto your back and cover your eyes.

But this can do nothing to stop the be@st you have unleashed from settling it`s jaws upon your most pr!zed possess!ons and r!pping them out root and stem with a crunching twist.

That my friend is Gonzo.

If you feel this is an ex@ggeration then b@re this in mind. Do you know Keyzer Soze? Of course you do, everyone has heard of him. What most people do not know however is that Keyzer once borrowed Gonzo’s Ferr@ri 250 GT, and returned it without filling the t@nk.

This is why Gonzo now possesses a mousem@t made from Keyzers scr-0-tum.

@ Hecdog: To repeat… The only reason Marquez always gives Pacman fits is because Pacman, who despite misinformation, has great defense and could rather easily avoid all Marquez’ shots, if he only cared to, but is a real fighter who is willing and indeed CHOOSES to stand toe-to-toe with Marquez to please paying fans, and therefore paid himself for it, by getting cold-cocked with a perfect Marquez counter-shot, when in reality Pacman should be fighting Marquez the same way Bradley and Floyd did… Which I think Pacman could do even better than they did, if he WANTS to…

In fact, I suspect if Manny and Marquez ever have a 5th bout, that is exactly what Manny will finally do, which is to give up going for a willful KO and just get in and out, and wait for it if it comes, more like the way Bradley and Floyd did, which was why Marquez was barely able to touch them.

Posted May 7, 2014 1:44 pm

Old Coot

So… Lately, Floyd has slightly miscalculated, twice by fighting Cotto and Maidana, which shows he IS slipping a bit in his usual self-preservative cherry-picking acumen… I say that because Floyd usually hand-picks stationary, slow-footed opponents, who can only hit THEIR opponents, who themselves are mobility challenged and therefore come to stand in front of them and trade toe-to-toe… Such as was the case with the likes of Gatti, Marquez, Corley, Ortiz, Guerrero, and Alvarez… Good fighters who Floyd mainly picked because they have legs of stone, so he could simply run and gun to easy, boring pot-shot victories.

Indeed, other than Cotto and Maidana, Floyd avoids any even slightly fleet-footed opponents who can keep up step-for-step with Floyd and potentially pound him. And part of the proof is how we’ve seen that Floyd has avoided opponents such as Khan, and ESPECIALLY Pacquiao like the plague, for fear they can give him pure Hell… But again It seems Floyd is slipping a bit, because he miscalculated more than usual, by picking Cotto and Maidana, both of whom turned out to be more fleet-footed than Floyd determined on scouting films.

And on a side note… The only reason Marquez always gives Pacman fits is because Pacman who could easily avoid all Marquez shots, is a real fighter who’s willing to stand toe-to-toe with Marquez, and he paid for it by getting cold-cocked with a perfect counter-shot, when in reality Pacman should be fighting Marquez the same way Bradley and Floyd did… Which I think Pacman could do even better than they did, if he wants to…

In fact, that is what I suspect Manny will finally do if he and Marquez ever have a 5th bout. Manny will give up going for a KO and just get in and out, more like Bradley and Floyd did when Marquez was barely able to touch them.

Posted May 7, 2014 1:36 pm

Old Coot

@ Hecdog: YOU are clearly a blind, mean-spirited moron, with his head square up Floyd’s bung-hole.

So hey blind boy… Go watch the Pac VS JMM IV bout again, and you will see that Pacquiao outclassed Marquez more than all the other three fights and was headed for a clear UD or KO himself… But he got greedy and careless and this newly muscle-bound hulk Marquez caught him. That is all…

Now, if Pacquiao wasn’t the real fighter he is, and chose to not entertain the fans for his pay, by simply running away from slow-footed Marquez and pot-shotting him like Floyd and Bradley did, then Marquez couldn’t touch Pacman. And you know it.

As I was saying. I’m not big-headed or egotistical at all really. I’m actually very self-effacing and modest truth be told. I deliberately exaggerate the self-adoration and narcissism for a very specific reason. I do it to deter people from showering me with complements and praise about my greatness all the time. Showering me with kind words and praise al the time doesn’t actually boost my ego at all really. There’s much more reward and satisfaction in knowing that people are deliberately holding themselves back from doing so because they think it will have that effect. ROFL.

And to address this ridiculous notion about me being big-headed and egotistical. This is complete nonsense. Now I can understand why some of you might get that impression, but I can assure you nothing could be further from the truth.

Hold on a sec, just eating some sushi. I’ll get back to this in a mo.

There is no irony you swollen cheese covered bell-end. I AM the best poster on here. And I HAVE never lost a debate. ROFL. Whereas Floyd is CLEARLY not the best ever or even close to belonging in the discussion for such an accolade. This is not even disputable. I rarely ever flex my debating muscles on here anymore. I don’t need to. All the old hands know exactly what I’m capable off when I flick that switch back to serious mode, which I can assure you is something that YOU of all people really don’t ever want me to do. ROFL.

It’s not just about cutting humour and a razor-sharp wit with me. I’m also way too intelligent AND knowledgeable about this sport for anyone to ever get the better of me in a serious debate. I’m equally adept at rendering an opponent into a defeat with a barrage of facts and in depth knowledge of the subject at hand as I am of doing it with caustic put-down or a devilishly witty one-liner. I don’t keep track off how many Ws I’ve racked up in my win column–now that would be vain and egotistical–but I can assure you that no one has ever seen me take an L. I’m not even joking about that either. lol. It just hasn’t ever happened. Even when I’ve barely had a wink of sleep (which is often- check the amount of typos I make) and been at my lowest ebb I’l find a way to pull out the win. ROFL.

HECDOG, Manny* has NO “boxing skills”. he’s a single-fisted, one-dimensional puncher with a porous defense and rabbit-feet. those are all the skills that Manny* has ever displayed. moreover, his Arizaless physical appearance v. Bradley had him looking conspicuously vulnerable v. a Maidana, Thurman, or Porter. of course, Pacquiao* will never face young and prime talent. his M.O. continues to be targeting faded Names and plodding sluggers.

Manny Pacquiao showcased his brilliant boxing skills in both the Brandon Rios and Timothy Bradley fights. His graceful movement and technical sharp shooting punches left fans speechless. Manny Pacquiao had rewarded boxing fans for 10 plus years using a ferocious, aggressive, hurricane type fighting style that had never been seen before. His fights were exciting and dynamic. Fans got more than their money’s worth watching the greatest pure fighter of all time dissect , dismantle and destroy every opponent he faced. Manny Pacquiao then tricked us all by coming out and overwhelming Bradley and Rios with a boxing style that reminded us fans of the great Muhammad Ali, Sugar Ray Robinson and Sugar Ray Leonard. Manny Pacquiao’s boxing was pure beauty. He was a Leonardo Da vinci painting the Mona Lisa. His transformation shocked us all, which led many to believe that Manny Pacquiao was not only the greatest pure fighter of all time but also the best boxer. Saturday night’s fight spoke volumes about the limitations of Floyd Mayweather and why he could never have beaten Manny Pacquiao. You must understand that Floyd actually tried fighting, something Manny has been doing for years. Marcos Maidana had Floyd hugging and holding on for life, which basically showed fans his fear and insecurity of fighting in a mano y mano type of fight. Floyd Mayweather tried to be macho, and show fight fans that he was tough. What he did was show us that he lacks the confidence and courage to win on another man’s turf. He cannot make the adjustment as his little brother Adrien Broner also failed at. Maidana on the other handed wanted Floyd to stand and fight and prove his worth as a true fighting warrior. Floyd Mayweather failed. And Manny Pacquiao, the greatest warrior to ever step into the ring made the adjustment from fighter to boxer with ease. He boxed with inspirational boxing techniques that had millions of fight fans tearing up. Manny proved he could change his style, Floyd showed us that he couldn’t. Holding on for dear life told true fight fans that he wanted no part of a real fight. He basically surrendered and threw in the towel. Boxing is about true warrior that don’t give up. They fight to the end. They have no quit in them. They would rather go down on their shield. Floyd Mayweather will never reach the heights of Manny Pacquiao. Manny is a true fighter. He is a monument to be saluted every time you see him. Stand up and salute the little big man. Boxing Historians can place a picture of Manny Pacquiao right next to the word Greatness. Trust me on this, no one beats Manny Pacquiao on a one fight basis. His domination of a sport will never be equaled. Manny is the best!

“The third round was particularly frustrating, since Arum and Pacquiao were up for a fight against Mayweather when it looked like a pending jail sentence would derail the bout. Their act was so convincing, Las Vegas Justice of the Peace Melissa Saragosa postponed Mayweather’s sentence, opening the way for the highly anticipated super-fight which would have been a tremendous boost to the city’s economy.

Then Arum and Pacquiao ran away from the negotiating table, trying to convince the world that Mayweather was, once again, at fault for the failed negotiations “

Floyd Mayweather Jr., The Pound 4 Pound King.
Floyd agreed to all of Manny Pacquiao’s demands from glove size, ring size, weight limit, 50-50 purse split and even agreed to Pacquiao’s $10 million dollar fine for every pound Mayweather weighs beyond the welterweight limit. All Mayweather asked for was Olympic style drug testing and that it had to be random, Pacquiao couldn’t give Mayweather that one stipulation and the fight was called off. People wrongfully accuse Mayweather of being a diva or wanting all the favors, but he bowed down to every single one of Manny Pacquiao’s requests, but Manny couldn’t even give Floyd one. There are only two reasons why someone wouldn’t comply to the tests, one; they are guilty or have something to hide, two; they are scared.

The Fighters Manny Pacquiao Ducked On His Way Up
JANUARY 14, 2011 BY LOU BLOCK 89 COMMENTS
By Lou Block
It is true that Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao has ducked a lot of boxers on his move up in weight. This is something that many casual fans of The Pacman have no idea about because they only started following Manny when he first appeared on HBO 24/7 against Oscar De La Hoya a handpicked, big name, opponent who was weight drained.
When Manny Pacquiao was at super featherweight (130 pounds) he only fought a washed up Erik Morales, Past it Marco Antonio Barrera, and Juan Manuel Marquez hoping he aged overnight. Manny also fought Oscar Larios who was coming up from 122 pounds to 130 pounds and Larios almost knocked Pacman out. Manny couldn’t even knock out a former super bantamweight, and people are insulting Floyd Mayweather Jr. for fighting Juan Manuel Marquez? But Manny cherry picked a smaller guy and almost got his ass kicked? c’mon what a joke.
The main fighters that Pacquiao ducked and avoided at super featherweight were undefeated slick black Dominican boxer Joan Guzman and a very tough Mexican Humberto Soto, both of those guys ended up fighting each other and Guzman won the fight by out slicking Soto. At the time Guzman was trained by one of the greatest boxing minds around Floyd Mayweather Sr. and Floyd and Guzman were calling Manny Pacquiao out but Manny never accepted the challenge, this was in 2007. Guzman in his prime was a very slick black fighter, so similar to Floyd Mayweather with his slick hit and not get hit style.
Watch the 2007 interview here at 2:19 Floyd Sr. discusses Guzman’s chances against Pacquiao
In 2008, when Manny was set to go up in weight to the lightweight (135 pounds) division to try and capture another world title in a different weight class he chose the paper champion David Diaz. The fight that all the boxing fans wanted to see was Manny Pacquiao versus the newly crowned unified lightweight champion Nate Campbell who beat up Juan Diaz for the belts giving him his first loss. A real old school boxer who is concerned with his legacy would have fought Nate Campbell because he was the real champion at lightweight. Pacquiao again avoided a slick black fighter.
After Manny defeated David Diaz to capture the WBC title, he fought Oscar De La Hoya and forced Oscar to drain himself to 147 instead of fighting him at a more reasonable 150 pounds catchweight. The win versus Oscar was a hollow victory, all it was is another name to pad Pacquiao’s record.
Shane Mosley beat up Antonio Margarito and called out Manny Pacquiao but Freddie Roach and Manny wanted no part of a guy like Mosley coming off a vicious knockout win over the most feared fighter at the time Antonio Margarito.
Here is the exact quote from Freddie Roach:
“Shane came to the gym twice to ask me to let him fight Manny,” Roach says. “I told him no both times, and both times for the same two reasons: First, there isn’t enough money there, and second, you’re too good a fighter.” (Source: LA Times)

wallace, “the Donald Sterling scenario, as difficult as it was for me to swallow his words and respect his position, I had to, in the sense that he had every right (within our freedom of speech laws) to articulate what he said. Obviously, I don’t support it, but it’s no different than the KKK who are allowed to openly speak in the public sector all around our country.”

wallace is badly misinformed. the kkk can’t engage in hate speech anymore. its outlawed by revisions of the civil rights act. they get tossed into jail if they talk like that. legal hatred is a thing of the past. if don sterling tired to fight his 2.5 million dollar fine, his suspension and ouster from the nba, and his ban from all nba games for life? he’d never win a legal battle like that in a million years because his words were illegal.

that’s what revisions to the law were about. you can’t just speak up and defame a race, gender, minority, or orientation anymore because you risk running afoul of the american justice system. every man and woman is accorded equal status regardless of their station, race, creed, or gender. that’s why the nba could respond so swiftly with impunity.

LMAO
Amir Khan has just accused Luis Collazo of being a dirty fighter on Box Nation interview.
Amir Khan used an MMA kimura arm hold to prize Collazo’s arm and wedge it behind his back so he could expose his midsection and cracked him with a hook that dropped him in the 10th round.
Khan is possibly the dirtiest fighter in the game.
He head butted Barrera opening up a huge gash. Actually as a Lightweight he had a hit and rush style that used his momentum to bull them into the ropes as his fists flailed but as a Light Welter he learned to push, lean on, elbow, use his head, hug, clinch, grapple and hold. He has now had a year to learn MMA Class 101 with Andre Ward and Virgil Hunter and he had class in session Saturday night against a dummy who left his defence and his arms at home. Cheating Khant.

Killa, yes, some black folks are racist. But in my opinion, what Broner said was stupid and classless, but not racist. Everyone (including blacks) seem to be overly sensitive to racism these days. The man said he beat up a Mexican (right before saying an African can get it to). If he would have said I beat up a “WB” which is definitely racist I’d be right there with you. He didn’t denigrate Mexicans in that sentence, he said he beat the FK out of one (which he didn’t). Vivik seemed spot-on to me!

Marcos Maidana won the fight 116-114 without question. I watched it a few times without bias in any way and without the volume. Fans around the world are correct in saying Floyd Mayweather got away with robbery against Maidana as he has in the past against Oscar De La Hoya and Jose Luis Castillo. Floyd Mayweather is not looked upon as an undefeated fighter because he’s really not. He was hit, roughed up and his constant holding because he couldn’t deal with a tough fighter made him panic and hold on for life. Holding, hugging or tying up as many put it is illegal. The referee should have taken points away. Holding is like putting your hands up and telling your opponent that he’s too much to handle. Marcos Maidana won 5 of the first 6 rounds. Look at the replay and see for yourself. He was landing the jab on Floyd when he wanted to. Floyd was missing by miles, and many of his punches were off the mark. He did have a few clean ones, but the crowd screamed even though the punch was a glancing blow or didn’t land. Maidana was the better man, and Floyd and his fans know this. Some people need to learn how to score a professional boxing match not an amateur boxing match. Maidana was effective throughout the fight. The 114-114 scorecard was more like it, but the truth is that one blind judge that should be banned for life had Mayweather winning 117-111?? What a pathetic joke. Regardless, Mayweather has been exposed, and the boxing world knows full well why Mayweather never wanted to fight the legendary, 8 division boxing champion and Fighter of the Decade. I knew all along Floyd Mayweather could not deal with Manny’s fighting style. Manny would have simply knocked Floyd Mayweather out cold. Too fast, strong, and brutalizing power in this southpaw fighting machine. The debate is over. The great Manny Pacquiao is the unanimous best fighter of his era as the Fighter of The Decade voted on by the best sports writers in the country voted Manny Pacquiao as being the best. What we all saw on Saturday night finally answered the question. Who was better, Floyd Mayweather or Manny Pacquiao. The winner, Manny Pacquiao. His legacy will live forever. His fights are memorable and exciting. The boxing world loves this man. Manny Pacquiao is a living legend, and he obviously doesn’t need Floyd Mayweather for anything. Floyd Mayweather is done.

Vivek- people like you who think the way you think create the racial GAP and strengthens racism in this country. When is a African-Americans giving racial comments is a mistake and it was intended as racially profiling others. However when is White person or any other race commenting on African Americans is RACISM. Look man called what you want but Racism is racism no matter who it comes from! Is time for people like you and Al Sharpton to realize that black people are Racist Too!!!!

”Both Khan and Maidana cheated on Saturday night”

ROFL at delusional butt-hurt faggot you failing to point out that Floyd was elbowing the crap out of Maidana and tying him up with excessive amounts of illegal holding. He was dictating the referee’s job to him. ROFL. He’d tie Maidana up and then summon Tony Weeks to come and break the up, which Weeks did dutifully.

I guess you must’ve missed Broner fouling the crap out of Maidana all night in their fight. You probably only saw the ”headbutt” when Broner did his play acting. The only reason MAidana did that was because Broner literally locked up both of his arms in full view of the ref after being hurt. Of course the ref did nothing, as he did when Broner sucker punched Maidana after the bell and elbowed him all night. ROFL

I guess you must’ve also missed Devon’s 120 illegal clinches against Maidana too. ROFL.

ROFL Floyd is one of the dirtiest fighters in the sport you vegetable-brained bug-eyed tranny. He’s forged an entire career out of using his elbows as additional gloves and holding to excess. He’s been getting away with that crap for decades simply because he’s never once stepped outside the protective sanctuary of the USA and he’s had American referees for ALL of his fights. You live by the sword, die by the sword. What goes around comes around. The same goes for Ward, Hopkins, and Broner, all of whom are very dirty and with the exception of a couple of Hopkins’ fights they’ve always had fellow Americans refereeing every single one of their fights. Is Maidana dirty? Sure, a lot of the time he’s responding to being illegally held, elbowed etc by these stay at home protected by their fellow countrymen cheating fcuks. as soon as he gets on the inside.

As for Khan. He held on like a limpet all night when Collazo got anywhere near him and should’ve had multiple points deducted. You can thank Virgil Hunter for that. ROFL

Gonzo, you clown. So you condone fouling, kneeing, hitting to the cup on numerous occasions, butting, grappling, armbars, arm locks which we saw committed by both Amir Khan and Marcos Maidana. You probably think shooting someone in the back is fair?
We understand you hate Mayweather but for you to think cheating to win inside the ring is fair then it shows more about you than it does the boxers. Both Khan and Maidana cheated Saturday night.
If any if us hear you moan about Ward ever again you will lose your so-called status as tier one sap boy. You can’t have it both ways. So, when Ward grapples, arm bars and as you have out it cheats to win, you better keep your pie hole shut. Got it? You’re not even worthy of being tier 6 you whining jackass.

Still, the fact that someone as clumsy and uncoordinated as him managed to whoop Floyd’s ass out of sight unquestionably proves beyond any shadow of a doubt how grossly overrated by many Floyd has been all these years, which is what we (all of us up and above Tier 2) have been telling all these clowns on here for years. Feels great to be proven right doesn’t it, Brother? ROFL

One curious thing about broner is that he is making me like mayweather more. I thought money may was the most unlikeable lump of excrement in the world. then broner came along and stole his title. Broner did NOT however say anything racist. he said he beat the F out of a Mexican…….and he did. How the F is that racist? his comments were crass and tactless and childish, but they were under no circumstances racist.

This pundit says.., “Mayweather is head and shoulders above any talent in this era.” Rigondeaux, Lomachenko, Golovkin, Kovalev, and Jamell Charlo are all fighting in this era … Talent wise, Floyd is not head and shoulders above them.

Otherwise Floyd would fight Lara, Porter, and Pacquiao … You and I both know he won’t fight any great prime fighters.

I remember when Floyd made an insincere challenge to Winky Wright for his 154-pound title… Wright said, “Little Floyd Mayweather is blowing smoke. He won’t fight me. Anytime little Floyd Mayweather wants to fight me, I’m ready.. I’ll fight little Floyd Mayweather anytime.. anywhere.. and for any money… Now let’s see if we hear anything back from little Floyd Mayweather — because he wouldn’t fight me in a million years.”

Floyd never uttered another word about fighting Winky.

TARK

Greg H/aka Vivek asks himself.., “Going into the Maidana fight I thought Floyd Mayweather was in for an easy night, but I know you felt it would be tough from the beginning.”

No you didn’t think it was going to be that rough… you were one of the few pundits who predicted Floyd would score a KO over Maidana. With what? Most had Floyd by UD, which is what actually happened.

You also had the hapless Collazo knocking Khan out… You blew that one too.

Seen the whole fight maidana won 6 round. And stats say he landed 225 punches Floyd seem slower, or maidana could avold Floyd jab going in all the time.

Floyd had no choice he had to exchange and use his speed and experience inside. He tried boxing but maidana jab right back and even counter back a body shot and two clubbing over the top punches back. He got in everytime he tried and Floyd went backwards but he follow him and was inside still so back into the ropes.

He had no choice If Floyd tried to slip chino he would not see the combo punches and he would be close and sideway he could have been ko’ed. So he not dumb it’s better to face the coming punches and scrub them off.
His shoulder roll was of no use to cross punches also ( got that manny) or over the top punches as I said Floyd is open to them.

Floyd can’t handle slugger or slugger/ boxer. Or rather it’s a even ballfield fighting them vs slow boxers canelo one that can’t fight onside so he can slip away with put getting hit and can beat them boxing from the outside as most boxer don’t want to come inside, Oscar, hatten, maidana, are slugger or slugger /boxers.

They are going to this watch fight over and over as maidana took Floyd jab and his shoulder roll away.
Got inside evertime, and left Floyd no choice but to exchange, which he not the best in.

Mbuyiseli my friend, not obsessed with Floyd, but dislike what he stands for. A man that was blessed with talent only to see him act the way he does and see how he treats people. He truly believes his money and material make him bigger and better than all humanity. The 24/7 and All Access shows people who Floyd Mayweather really is. He’s not putting on an act. He’s a hypocrite wearing diamond crosses and thanking God on occasion yet his mouth is full of garbage foul language and he has no shame when blatantly calling his own father every foul and degrading name in the book. Character in a person, especially a sports figure that has the attention of millions, has a better opportunity to live a good life and be a good role model to millions of kids and upcoming boxers, but acts like a fool and rambles about in his folly. I recall watching Floyd Mayweather as a young teen as an amateur and Olympian, and he was a very nice, modest humble kid. I watched him during the early stages of his career and his personality was very likable. He had a humble personality, and he looked to me like another Sugar Ray Leonard both inside and outside the ring. He then won his first title, and the hanger on’s started coming, and everyone started filling his head with all kinds of garbage. I began to see the beginning of what I thought would be a disaster of a potentially great fighter and role model as the promoters and his entourage of people came onto him like a bunch of vultures seeking their carcass. Floyd Mayweather then appeared to be believing everything, and then the ego started to come out louder and louder. The rest is history. We’ve all see what he portrays himself to be. The man today is a classless, egotistical, money hungry villain. Did you see what a jerk he was in the post fight press conference with his kiss but entourage behind him bowing at every word he said. Did you see Lil Wayne and the Mayweather camp trying to start fights with the Maidana camp as they were cheering through the hallway. I don’t need to get into Floyd Mayweather’s behavior because it’s all out there. He says things like Donald Sterlign is a great man? Putting his ex fiancee’s abortion document on Instagram? Calling Manny Pacquiao racist names. Laughing at fans because they pay money to see him fight. Throwing all his wealth in our faces is, and he has been consistent this this attitude and behavior the majority of his career. Floyd tries to act and speak well for about a minute, and then once someone asks him something or says something he doesn’t like, his real self comes back and begins degrading that person. Floyd Mayweather has rubbed people wrong, and as he says, he doesn’t care. Thank God for the world having a quality person like Manny Pacquiao. I admire and support this wonderful human being that is respectful, caring, loving, God fearing and is a humble, decent humble person that all of us can have admiration for. Just look at how he carries himself. Not one bad word. Not one word of disrespect for anyone. He never complains or cries. He never boasts about his money or materials. He gives and gives to those that are in need. Manny Pacquiao recognized the sin he had in his life at he turned away from it. He was a fallen man that took off the dirty clothes he had, and today he is a man with true character. Manny Pacquiao is loved and admired everywhere he goes, and for those that are jealous of him, he doesn’t sit well with. They try to take shots at him about his personal life. Laugh at his losses, suffering and struggles, but he continues to be a class act. He never changes. This is a good man. I hope this clears up my thoughts on Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao. And just to add a little more to this. Manny Pacquiao is the best of all time. Floyd Mayweather proved to all of us that he would never have come close to beating Manny. Floyd is a skilled fighter, but he would have been knocked by the legendary, Manny Pacquiao, the only 8 division boxing champion in history. Hope my post helps you understand.

I have a lot of respect for Vivek because of his passion for the sport. By all accounts he seems like a really good guy who cares about his family and who puts in an effort to inform. That being said, I find myself groaning internally when he starts doing “I told you so’s”. More often than not, and despite his “intense” viewing of tape, he gets it horribly wrong. In spite of now trumpeting the fact that Maidana gave Mayweather a hard fight, he hardly said any of that in his pre-fight analysis. Anybody could have said that Maidana wouldn’t be an easy fight. That doesn’t mean that they know better than the “average fan” (vomit). If Vivek knew if would be such a hard fight then why did he predict a Floyd victory by TKO? Don’t even get me started on his prediction that Khan would lose against Collazo. Let’s just be honest with ourselves, if anyone was that good at predicting fight outcomes they’d be living very well off sports betting proceeds. Not writing vague predictions and crowing about how right they were when a vague reference proves to be correct. Keep doing what you’re doing Viv, I’m certainly not a hater and I love reading your stuff.

i approve of “Vito’s” rationalization of Broner’s inept and amateurish attempt at being creative with the english language, which happens to be his second and only language. not unlike some ESB bloggers who assume english-mastery simply because it’s the only language they’ve ever heard or spoken. these spells of “bolivion” are frequently triggered by the appearance of a microphone or keyboard and access to an audience. at which point, their linguistic juggling act unravels live on stage. of course, this doesn’t mean that Broner and his ilk don’t harbor bigoted thoughts and impulses. after all, the foundation of all bigotry is ignorance and who can deny that Broner is among the most ignorant dumbasses in the country?

LOL

The boxing public is so gullible. Mayweather is not stupid, if he had went out there and blown the Chino away then it he would have been criticized from all different directions. He carried the bum, just like he carried Cotto and De La Hoya.

It’s an old trick. Fighters would do this against a weaker opponent so that they could help a friend and/or earn a more lucrative rematch. In this case it was designed to thwart criticism and earn another EASY 32 mil. Those judges are great judges. Even Teddy Atlas had it 117-112.

Mayweather isn’t stupid. He laid on the ropes and let this bum punch. If you notice that was the only time he landed anything. When Mayweather wanted to land…He pretty much landed. Don’t get me wrong, I love the Chino’s heart…but believe me he didn’t give Mayweather a good fight.

ROFL at the Damage Limitation Police desperately trying to rationalize to themselves how and why their horse-toothed charlatan fraud messiah struggled so much. Robert ‘Jesus of Nazareth’ Garcia has managed to turn water into wine now has he? ROFL. Maidana is still the same crude brawler he’s always been. The fact that he managed to whoop clowns numero uno Broner and clown numero duo Floyd says infinitely more about how grossly overrated they were than it does about this supposedly miraculous metamorphosis Maidana has gone through since he hooked up with Bobby Garcia.

It’s not like those of up on Tier 2 and above hadn’t been telling you this for years and years. We couldn’t have made ourselves any clearer. Broner is literally the worst fighter in the history of the sport and Floyd unquestionably the most overrated. They’ve both just got their asses handed to them by a crude brawler Argentine street urchin with two left feet. Maidana makes Frankenstein’s monster look like Fred Astaire. ROFL. Adrian: I’m speaking about a reality we just witnessed and have seen over the past few fights. You’re talking about a hypothetical that you THINK could happen. Lets stick to what we KNOW. Not what we think. Pacquiao is a volume puncher and a tough, hard hitting one. So i don’t think for a second that he won’t give Maidana a tougher time. We are in 100% agreement on that. But FMW is NOT a volume puncher like Khan and Alexander and those guys who typically try to throw more than one shot at a time. Thurman? I do not think he would handle Maidana well. Porter? The guy fought at abt 168-170 his whole amateur career damn near. A guy his size, with his power and strength SHOULD be able to handle Maidana better than a guy who weighed in at 146 and only 148 on fight night. Styles make fights, boys. It’s all relative. Gotta run, but we have no disagreement that Pacquaio beats Maidana. It would be a good fight, but I have Pac all day in that one. Even at this late stage in his career based on speed, volume of punches and power of punches.

Sometimes I wonder how long some of you have been watching boxing. Floyd always goes after punchers and tries to knock them out, in this case it back fired big time. He may have won the fight, but he got beat up real good. His best shots didn’t phase MM at all.

Posted May 5, 2014 10:02 am

Big Moe

If they do a rematch, it won’t be close. As Floyd stated in the press conference, If he would boxed and stayed on the outside, then fans would have said it was boring. But since he CHOSE to stay in the pocket and brawl, now it’s “he’s loosing a step and he’s getting old”. The same thing happened when he fought Cotto. He came back against Guerrero and Canelo and dominated those fights.

His next fight, regardless of who it is, he will return to rare form and the haterz will once again rise. Floyd will stomp Khan out, Khan is too sloppy. Callazo was just walking in, no head movement and coming straight ahead. That won’t happen with Floyd. Plus Floyd has enough data on Maidana to jack him up the next time around.

Maidana fought at 140 and he got a gift decision against morales for god sakes when he came back from the retiremt fat and slow then he lost to kotelnik , khan , was getting beat by Karas early in a fight bad and very recently was dominated by Alexander big time !
And wait and see if Maidana happen to fight next a guy like paqiao , Thurman prodvodnikov Garcia porter and losses Vivek will be the first one to say “this was not a version of Maidana that floyed fought” like with cotto you remember ?if you ask Vivek he will tell you floyed fought the best version of cotto …

Adrian…Fair comment. For example when Khan beat M.M. people then tore into M.M. saying he was a crude fighter with overrated power. Now M.M. beats a very overrated Broner and gives Mayweather who very well may be losing his fight with father time at 37 a good run for his money(no pun intended)..now all of a sudden M.M. is the most improved fighter in the last 100 years…and now a great welter…boxing fans go figure!!!

@Salu Yot: No he is saying when he dominates fighters easily his fights are deemed boring by people like you who want him to lose. His style is not boring ; he has proven that he can fight in various styles when he chooses.

It is interesting to hear from Mayweather that he could have made it easier for him to win the fight but it will be a boring fight. Is this an indication that he is conceding to the viewers opinions that he wins fights with his boring style of fighting?

Vivek I think the biggest piece of the puzzle is glaring you in the face and you obliviously/choose to skip. Mayweather was huffing and puffing like I have never seen before. Fathertime is catching up to Floyd. Plus he was less mobile than in the Alvarez fight.

Lol ok Vivek so let’s say now since Maidana you say improved and is a totally different fighter fights a guy like Thurman or paqiao and he lost to them would you still say Maidana improved or just he was good only when he fought mayweather ?
