Manny Pacquiao turned down a 50-50 split in revenue in late 2009/early 2010 over random blood testing with a 14 day cut-off. He was also given choice of gloves, ringsize, and an unheard of $10 million dollar per pound penalty if Mayweather came in over 147 pounds.
Of course, up until that point, the most Mayweather had made off any fight was $25 million(a figure he made in each of his last 3 fights vs. de la Hoya, Hatton, and Marquez).
Mayweather then went on to make $40 million vs Mosley, $40 million vs Ortiz, $45 million vs Cotto, $34 million vs Guerrero, $80+ million vs Canelo, and a MINIMUM of $32 million vs Maidana(the PPV numbers haven’t been added up and factored in yet).
The most Manny Pacquiao has ever made for one nights work is $30 million vs Mosley and another $30 million vs Marquez(fight #3 in 2011).
Mayweather has offered Manny a $40 million flat fee to fight him since January 2012 when a judge postponed Mayweathers jail sentence so he could stimulate the local economy with up to a BILLION dollars in offshoot revenue he brings over the 3 days of a weekend he fights, and Manny has turned it down(confirmed by both Freddie Roach and Alex Ariza).
The starting point for negotiations should be each of their peak earnings… Mayweather should be guaranteed NO LESS than $80 million, and Pacquiao should be guaranteed NO LESS than $30 million. The PPV upside should then be split 75% to Floyd, 25% to Manny, but this will not happen because Manny has a greedy promoter who is holding up the biggest fight in the sport and has been for over 4 and a half years now.

He did not show anything against Bradley. Bradley came in there with 1 game plan and that was to try and KO Pac and he looked good the first 5 or 6 rounds but then he ran out of gas. That is all that happened. Like I have said numerous times, Pac looks great against come forward fighters, does not look so great against people who can box. Unfortunately Bradley didn’t want to box.

Manny Pacquiao showcased his brilliant boxing skills in both the Brandon Rios and Timothy Bradley fights. His graceful movement and technical sharp shooting punches left fans speechless. Manny Pacquiao had rewarded boxing fans for 10 plus years using a ferocious, aggressive, hurricane type fighting style that had never been seen before. His fights were exciting and dynamic. Fans got more than their money’s worth watching the greatest pure fighter of all time dissect , dismantle and destroy every opponent he faced. Manny Pacquiao then tricked us all by coming out and overwhelming Bradley and Rios with a boxing style that reminded us fans of the great Muhammad Ali, Sugar Ray Robinson and Sugar Ray Leonard. Manny Pacquiao’s boxing was pure beauty. He was a Leonardo Da vinci painting the Mona Lisa. His transformation shocked us all, which led many to believe that Manny Pacquiao was not only the greatest pure fighter of all time but also the best boxer. Saturday night’s fight spoke volumes about the limitations of Floyd Mayweather and why he could never have beaten Manny Pacquiao. You must understand that Floyd actually tried fighting, something Manny has been doing for years. Marcos Maidana had Floyd hugging and holding on for life, which basically showed fans his fear and insecurity of fighting in a mano y mano type of fight. Floyd Mayweather tried to be macho, and show fight fans that he was tough. What he did was show us that he lacks the confidence and courage to win on another man’s turf. He cannot make the adjustment as his little brother Adrien Broner also failed at. Maidana on the other handed wanted Floyd to stand and fight and prove his worth as a true fighting warrior. Floyd Mayweather failed. And Manny Pacquiao, the greatest warrior to ever step into the ring made the adjustment from fighter to boxer with ease. He boxed with inspirational boxing techniques that had millions of fight fans tearing up. Manny proved he could change his style, Floyd showed us that he couldn’t. Holding on for dear life told true fight fans that he wanted no part of a real fight. He basically surrendered and threw in the towel. Boxing is about true warrior that don’t give up. They fight to the end. They have no quit in them. They would rather go down on their shield. Floyd Mayweather will never reach the heights of Manny Pacquiao. Manny is a true fighter. He is a monument to be saluted every time you see him. Stand up and salute the little big man. Boxing Historians can place a picture of Manny Pacquiao right next to the word Greatness. Trust me on this, no one beats Manny Pacquiao on a one fight basis. His domination of a sport will never be equaled. Manny is the best!

While Tyson has discredited Floyd, there are many fighters out there today who say Floyd is the best ever. I don’t believe that but they are the ones stepping in the ring.

Hecdog, a perfectly detailed breakdown of the over-hyped boxer of the century, FMJ. Seriously, he not only brings a cowardly, cry baby style to the ring, but he has also devalued the walk to the ring ceremony and continues to allow singers of his choice to promote their self expressions before and after the singing of the national anthem. Mike Tyson even discredited FMJ at ringside during his interview with Jim Grey.

LMAO
Amir Khan has just accused Luis Collazo of being a dirty fighter on Box Nation interview.
Amir Khan used an MMA kimura arm hold to prize Collazo’s arm and wedge it behind his back so he could expose his midsection and cracked him with a hook that dropped him in the 10th round.
Khan is possibly the dirtiest fighter in the game.
He head butted Barrera opening up a huge gash. Actually as a Lightweight he had a hit and rush style that used his momentum to bull them into the ropes as his fists flailed but as a Light Welter he learned to push, lean on, elbow, use his head, hug, clinch, grapple and hold. He has now had a year to learn MMA Class 101 with Andre Ward and Virgil Hunter and he had class in session Saturday night against a dummy who left his defence and his arms at home. Cheating Khant.

Gentlemen, such hateful comments towards me is really uncalled for. I am entitled to my opinion as you are also. Please don’t take my posts so serious. Relax and know that any of my comments are just my opinion. Please don’t get so emotionally riled up just because I see things a certain way. I thought Maidana won the fight. I dislike Floyd Mayweather’s character, and I admire Manny Pacquiao. Have a great day gentlemen.

That seems to be his secret weapon when he’s in trouble and it sure does work. Even Floyd tried it.

Khan has improved too and the W.Klitschko clinching works for him.

And by the way other than the nice jab improvement from Maidana, Maidana is still the same fighter from previous self. The only changes from him last Saturday was that he weight more. But despite all that, he was still the same walking punching bag and sadly Floyd struggled against him. Not quite the TBE that floyd fancy himself.

Posted May 6, 2014 2:42 am

Opinion

Bottle@Yeah, Maidana is a walking punching bag. He’s too one dimensional, no lateral movement, no accuracy, just good at keeping pressure on, which works to certain boxers and made Mayweather look bad for most people.

Posted May 6, 2014 2:41 am

Them guys has improved too Khan and Deven. Khan looks to be more comportable in higher weights so yeah he had improve a lot too. You think Maidana is the only one that improved? No way.

Please, if Devon or Khan were to rematch Maidana they would be stopped. Maidana has improved tremendously with Garcia.

The walking punching bag Maidana gave Floyd some trouble and lose the fight but won it thanks to Las Vegas scoring. What an embarrassment it is for Floyd. Devon Alexander and Amir Khan did better against the walking punching bag Maidana and Floyd fancy himself as The Best Ever? What a Fraud claim that is.

Marcos Maidana won the fight 116-114 without question. I watched it a few times without bias in any way and without the volume. Fans around the world are correct in saying Floyd Mayweather got away with robbery against Maidana as he has in the past against Oscar De La Hoya and Jose Luis Castillo. Floyd Mayweather is not looked upon as an undefeated fighter because he’s really not. He was hit, roughed up and his constant holding because he couldn’t deal with a tough fighter made him panic and hold on for life. Holding, hugging or tying up as many put it is illegal. The referee should have taken points away. Holding is like putting your hands up and telling your opponent that he’s too much to handle. Marcos Maidana won 5 of the first 6 rounds. Look at the replay and see for yourself. He was landing the jab on Floyd when he wanted to. Floyd was missing by miles, and many of his punches were off the mark. He did have a few clean ones, but the crowd screamed even though the punch was a glancing blow or didn’t land. Maidana was the better man, and Floyd and his fans know this. Some people need to learn how to score a professional boxing match not an amateur boxing match. Maidana was effective throughout the fight. The 114-114 scorecard was more like it, but the truth is that one blind judge that should be banned for life had Mayweather winning 117-111?? What a pathetic joke. Regardless, Mayweather has been exposed, and the boxing world knows full well why Mayweather never wanted to fight the legendary, 8 division boxing champion and Fighter of the Decade. I knew all along Floyd Mayweather could not deal with Manny’s fighting style. Manny would have simply knocked Floyd Mayweather out cold. Too fast, strong, and brutalizing power in this southpaw fighting machine. The debate is over. The great Manny Pacquiao is the unanimous best fighter of his era as the Fighter of The Decade voted on by the best sports writers in the country voted Manny Pacquiao as being the best. What we all saw on Saturday night finally answered the question. Who was better, Floyd Mayweather or Manny Pacquiao. The winner, Manny Pacquiao. His legacy will live forever. His fights are memorable and exciting. The boxing world loves this man. Manny Pacquiao is a living legend, and he obviously doesn’t need Floyd Mayweather for anything. Floyd Mayweather is done.

Floyd won the fight. It was close. Maidana is gonna get his rematch and Floyd will beat him at his game and not Maidanas. Not saying he just stood there for the fans, Maidana made him do that for the most part. But I think this next time Floyd is gonna move much more and stay off the ropes.

Retire old man and come back and take another beating in 5 years after you go broke. Retire old floyd. Retire the sound of boo’s. Madiana is barely a B level fighter and he wiped the floor with your weak body. Man handled with ease. No wonder he was put in isolation in prision. He would had been passed around and get rented out for a pack of smokes every night.

The only fight the public has ever wanted to see was Manny Pacquiao fight Floyd Mayweather. Floyd obviously has declined over and over and has came up with excuse after excuse and demand after demand. Saturday night’s fight against the tough and rugged Marcos Maidana gave us a clear glimpse of Why Floyd Mayweather has avoided the biggest Mega Fight in boxing history. Floyd Mayweather was most vulnerable when he was backed up. Maidana had no respect for him, and Floyd did the only thing he knew how to do. He held on and hugged Maidana numerous times throughout the fight, which by the way is illegal. Tony Weeks should have taken points away. Count the number of times Floyd held on and you tell me if this tactic should have been addressed ASAP. Marcos Maidana showed us why Floyd Mayweather isn’t nearly as good as he thinks he is. Manny Pacquiao in his prime simply would have overwhelmed Mayweather in all facets of the fight. Manny had more speed, power, stamina and athleticism than Floyd Mayweather. His unique awkwad fighting style would have caught up to Floyd without question. Mayweather did seem slower, out of sync and his anticipation of punches coming or his countering were way off. I saw Floyd Mayweather really and truly begin his decline. And he will be like all the others before him. He will believe he still has it when he doesn’t. His huge ego will send him the way of those that lost the fight against father time. When he comes, there’s no turning back. It happened to Ali, Louis, Leonard, Chavez, De La Hoya, Duran and all the fighters that wanted just another fight. Floyd fans, it’s time to call it day for your fighter. Time for the Fat Lady to sing. Time to sing the swan song. De La Hoya, Castillo and Maidana were all robbed of victory, but time is undefeated, and Floyd’s ego will lead him astray. He has three fights left as he says. Floyd Mayweather’s time has come. Good bye and good riddens.

It was a very entertaining fight, and as Maidana sincerely believes that he defeated Floyd, I have to believe that the rematch will also be an action packed fight. So, Floyd, make sure that it happens this coming September!
