the people who run boxing are fools period.Posted May 10, 2014 11:25 am
If Mayweather was the smart businessman he claims to be he’d fight Khan in the UK at Wembley Stadium. It would sell out 80,000 easily and Mayweather would still win, both in the ring and outside the ring. It’s good business sense. But Mayweather only fights in his own backyard with his own Ref, and his own judges. And I wouldn’t be surprised if he is juiced up to the eyeballs. Mayweather makes the people who run boxing look like fools, he’s untouchable and there’s nothing they can do about it.Posted May 10, 2014 9:46 am
I predict Mayweather fights Khan next… Floyd put him on his card, they picked a chump for Khan to hammer, and they got the fight all set up.
They’re going to wait a couple months for some intensity to set in before they announce the fight.
But it won’t set in… There’s no demand for the fight.Posted May 10, 2014 4:13 am
He didn’t get knocked out. That’s a start.Posted May 9, 2014 2:12 pm
Nope he won’t. Can’t coach a weak chin. He is going to get touched and he is a completely different fighter when he does. Better offense yes, but he will still get KO’d or TKO’d.Posted May 9, 2014 12:05 pm
Khan will take another year off and beg Floyd for a retirement pay day in May 2015. Just because Khan beat a washed up Collazo (who didn’t even try to win) doesn’t mean he should be ahead of Porter, Garcia, Bradley, Pac Man or Maidana (rematch). Khan proved little by beating a sparring partner, which is all Collazo was in Vegas.Posted May 9, 2014 6:51 am

I am not a Mayweather fan but the facts are the facts and anyone who thinks Khan can beat Mayweather just because of this last fight is living in la la land. Khan don’t stand a chance, so don’t bet the kitchen sink on him.Posted May 9, 2014 5:02 am

Did anyone notice how beat up and battered Amir’s face was after the fight, even though he only got hit with half a dozen shots all fight?
Can you imagine the damage he would sustain in a real fight vs the likes of Brook, Porter, Thurman and the other Welters?Posted May 8, 2014 3:51 pm

Khans just not got the best of chin. So no he’s not the perfect fighter but his other skills make him a serious threat to any other fighter in the sport. In fact so far in his career the only chance you have against khan is to knock him out (unless you use PEDS and have the judges in your pocket like Peterson but I dont count that fight as I still had Khan winning that fight by a point). Khans no joke in fact he is a very exciting fighter to watch as his unpredictability make him intersting to watch.Posted May 8, 2014 2:06 pm

I think bar Pac Khan deserves a shot as much as the next man. If Maidana deserved a shot when Khan had already beat him, why not Khan. The only fighter out there with a decent claim to a shot is probably Garcia.Posted May 8, 2014 1:41 pm

The only thing you need in order to face Maytwitter is you can’t be too dangerous. Ortiz & Guerrero just to name two right off the top of my head.
If you’re not too dangerous, then Maytwitter will run his HYPE MACHINE and make iy sound like these guys are the next coming of Mike Tyson or Ali…. and then we get a snoozefest of pot-shotting all night. Guerrero was a farce. Ortiz was a farce. Canelo wasn’t ready but is a pretty good fighter. Time will tell if he’s one of the greats. Maidana was a legitimate threat. And beating an ‘unkwown’ in Broner shouldn’t have automatically gifted Maidana a shot at Maytwitter, but other than PACMAN, who else should Maytwitter have fought? NOT KHAN for sure. Khan hasn’t earned anything.Posted May 8, 2014 10:08 am

No he doesn’t deserve it. If Ortiz would have beaten Collaza no one would have been touting him for Mayweather. kahn hasn’t done anything since getting beat from Garcia. And I really don’t know why folk seem to think he’s a big star over here. No one outside of boxing cares about him. Hence why he was dropped from PPV a long time ago. Yea, Porter deserves a shot at any of the top guys because simply, Porter is the IBF champ, AND to unify the title, champions should fight so, yea, he is a champ and that in itself is the easiest reason to say he deserves a shot. Now, if people think that Khan deserves a shot at Mayweather, I’d say that the easiest way is to beat Porter and after you have his crown then, try to unify the championship by challenging Mayweather for all his crowns .. the only problem with that is I doubt Khan would ever beat Porter…. Make all the champs fight one another and let’s see who emerges the victor … Boxingdictioanry.com “The Language of the Ring “Posted May 8, 2014 7:46 am
Khan beat old washed up Collazo and everyone’s getting excited! He is still the same glass jawed bum who crumbles against any live opponent.Posted May 8, 2014 7:32 am
This was a fine win for Khan. He should get a big fight out of it, and, hopefully, Mayweather. I would like to see him with Floyd, or Danny Garcia, or Peterson again. Could he beat Mayweather? No, but neither can anyone else right now. I like Maidana, but he has had his chance. Now, Khan has earned his chance.Posted May 8, 2014 7:27 am
” And no, I wasn’t one of the people claiming Collazo would beat Khan”
Me neither Prince. I knew Khan would beat Collazo—people were just giving to much credit to Collazo’s win over battered and ruined Ortiz. Plus, all the Khan “haters” who were absolutely Khan would be destroyed by Luis. And finally, all the pre-fight hype that was done to build up the Mayweather/Maidana card.
I am not a fan of Khan’s and I posted several times that Khan would box and move and box and hug and box and move and clinch and clinch and box some more and win a decision similar to his best performance vs Kotelnik.
Even if you don’t favour a boxer I look at fights in strengths and weaknesses and I saw Collazo outboxed 12 rounds to zip by Shane Mosley and figured he would be outboxed by any one who elects to box him.Posted May 8, 2014 6:44 am
The comment son Khan are hilarious. Previously – “Khan’s defense sucks, he has a glass chin, until he learns to defend he’s a “c” class fighter at best”
Now – “Khan defends in the wrong way by holding on and avoiding fighting unless it’s on his terms”
REALLY? There are so many Khan haters who critisise every little thing he does regardless of the reality. That reality is that Khan has done what few believed he could do and thats go back to the drawing board and learn to fight in a completely different way. A little early to compare perhaps, but do you think the record books will show or mention that Wlad Klit held on and smothered, or do you think they will say we had unified world champ and defended his title umpteen times? The same will be said of Khan if he manages much the same feat.
Khan *HAS* fought and beaten some very capable “A” class fighters (Malinaggi, Maidana, Barrera) and while there are always plenty of other fighters he could fight he’s proven his pedigree and ability more than enough in my opinion. What always makes me chuckle is that everyone goes on about how brilliant Maidana was, how he was worthy of fighting Mayweather (which I’m not disagreeing with) and yet he LOST to Khan, fair and square. Of course he had Khan troubled in the last 3 rounds but, to be frank, who cares? Khan got the rightful decision but yet that seemingly doesn’t give him any legitimacy. Frankly, many of you are blind idiots.
Khan DESERVES his shot and he DESERVES to be regarded as one of the better fighters in his division. Anything less is just hate.Posted May 8, 2014 5:55 am
I went back on the threads pre-fight for Khan V Collazo and most of the jock straps below now saying Collazo is a d level fighter and a bum had Collazo kicking Khan’s a** back across the pond. I just love the silly little ignorant pr*cks who come on here after fight night and rewrite history.
Khan fought the perfect fight reflected by the scorecards. He had a tough opp fuddled and bemused. Collazo spent 10 rounds trying to get near Khan and failed miserably.
He also showed much better defensive nouse thanks to Hunter and incidentally took a good couple of Collazo hooks plumb on the chin.
Khan is a real contender at 147 and all the bums below spouting their BS are clueless. This is the word.Posted May 8, 2014 5:54 am
And just because I don’t like Khan that much doesn’t mean he doesn’t have heart. Khan will fight anybody. I bet he would face Wlad if they would let him. I don’t question his heart at all.Posted May 8, 2014 12:27 am

Yes this is the first fight Khan looked good in. If you don’t think he looked good compared to his other 4 fights, that is your opinion. To be perfectly honest I thought Khan still beat Peterson even with the point deduction. And no I don’t think they should change it because Peterson came up dirty. He didn’t in the first fight. Not to mention after the investigation they didn’t find any problems. So no they shouldn’t change anything. Yes Khan did hold a lot against Collazo. That should of been addressed. But he was also throwing punches. Good is probably stretching it but it is the best he has looked in a while.Posted May 8, 2014 12:25 am

Here’s the thinking…. if you’re not Floyd material opponent, you won’t get a crack at Floyd. And by Floyd-material they usually mean top pound for pound boxer. That was how high the bar was set then or has it been changed and lifted up even higher into the metaphysical realm?Posted May 7, 2014 11:35 pm
This is the first fight Khan has looked good in. He looked lousy in his last 4 fights and 2 of those were loses. He talks big but had not been performing big, that is why he doesn’t deserve the fight with Floyd. He still doesn’t. Heck Maidana said lets have a rematch and the winner gets Floyd and Khan wanted none of that. That is because Maidana would defeat Khan and stop him in a rematch. Why did Khan duck Alexander. He did the same thing to Alexander that he said Floyd did to him. Khan still needs a win or 2 against top competition before getting that lottery fight.Posted May 7, 2014 11:23 pm
Khan isn’t gonna get Floyd next. There is gonna be a rematch with Maidana in which Floyd wins by a wider margin and makes it look easier in my opinion. I picked Floyd to stop Maidana but he really couldn’t hurt him. I don’t see Khan fighting Broner. I just don’t see Broner going back to 147 anytime soon. If he does Khan beats him. As for Khan beating Collazo. Collazo went in with the same game plan as Bradley did against Pac and had no plan B. But again I don’t see him fighting again this year and if he does it will be against a nobody.Posted May 7, 2014 11:21 pm
And I forgot to mention Bradley, he ducked Khan a while ago as well. Khan called him out on a couple of occasions.

Khan is fixated on fighting Mayweather but wants NO PART of the guy who kicked his ass GARCIA..A true champion tries to avenge his loss but Khan wants NO part of Garcia. That in itself tells it all… Remember, right after his fight, the first thing Mayweather said is “I’ll fight him (Maidana ) again if he wants it ” Now, that’s a champion I have NO idea what Khan is…possibly a WANNABEE… Danny Garcia would LOVE to fight and beat his ass again.. that’s what all fight fans should be demanding, a freakin’ rematch between the 2 and then, if Khan wins, he’ll earn a shot at Mayweather ..I doubt he’ll win .. IF MAYWEATHER REMATCHES Maidana in September, then I reckon Khan should face Keith Thurman for the interim WBA Welterweight title. I wrote beforehand that Khan would beat Collazo in the same style he beat Kotelnik, but I had no idea Collazo would leave his defence at home (under instructions). Therefore, I am still non the wiser whether or not Khan can handle a legitimate Welterweight.
$32M for 36 minutes. I’m waiting for the PPV numbers to come in so I can make another $38M on the back-end. Making it a grand total of $70M. Mayweather vs. MaidanaPosted May 7, 2014 2:37 pm
It doesnt take much to earn a mayweather fight. Ortiz had lost to Maidana, had a draw with Peterson and beat hype job Berto. Guerrero beat Aydin and hype job Berto. Canelo beat a shot Mosley, a blown up Lopez, and a close win over Trout. Maidana beat Ortiz, lost to Khan and Alexander, beat Soto Karrass, Lopez, and the biggest hype job in recent memory in Broner. Khans wins over Barrera, Maidana, Judah, Paulie, should have been a win over Peterson, Diaz and Collazo make him just as worthy as any of Floyds recent opponents. There is a guy out there that has wins over Barrera, Morales, Marquez, De La Hoya,Hatton, Cotto, Clottey, Margarito, Mosley, Rios, & Bradley but I guess that isnt enough to earn a shot.Posted May 7, 2014 2:29 pm

Texas you are spot on. He should fight again around November time against top level competition. Garcia rematch is what many fans and critics would want to see, but I can’t see Khan going back to 140 though and Garcia doesn’t need to step up unless he wants to be considered in the Mayweather sweepstakes. Khan v Broner would be awesome or maybe he should go after Porter? That might be too dangerous though.Posted May 7, 2014 2:18 pm
Khan took the easiest option in the 147lb division, an old has-been and at 32 Collazo was no threat whatsoever.
Nothing different from what we’ve seen before only this time he clinched more.Posted May 7, 2014 1:29 pm
Me personally, would not mind a Khan Mayweather fight, I just think Khan needs to earn it a bit more. Khan should take on Alexander, Thurman, or Porter prior to jumping to Mayweather. The other fighters mentioned have been fighting at 147 lbs and are apt an elite level. Khan should fight one or two of those top Welters first before demanding a Mayweather showdown. I would like to see Khan vs any of the ranked 147 lbs guys. I think that would show a lot of heart and earn the top dog spot! Khan should practice less, holding and backpedaling and better boxing skills.Posted May 7, 2014 1:27 pm

I’ll tell you what he’s done to deserve a mayweather fight… absolutely f**k all!!!
1. Turned down a world title fight knowing he would lose and then the ”earn your shot” theory never applied
2. Not won a meaningful fight in 3 years
3. How about if mayweathers fights are so picked and easy like khan claims then go fight cotto, guerrero, canelo if they are so easy
4. Thurman, porter, Garcia, brook (if he wins a world title I guarantee khan will be calling out cos he will need him more) all of these guys apart from brook right now are ahead of khan for a mayweather fight beacsue the actually go in and fight to stake a claim…
hope this coward finally gets put in his place as he will have to fight someone very good cos im afraid collazo isn’t enough to justify that passage….. he’s lost to every good fighter he ever faced and got a payday only cos he knocked out a completely shot Ortiz….

Khan looked good against Collazo, certainly like him with Hunter as opposed to Roach. Hunter seems to utilizing Khan’s speed better and imploring some defense.
