You guys are suckers… You don’t give a crap if Floyd cherry-picks Khan and ducks all the skilled welterweights who can box and punch like: Porter, Thurman, Brook, and Pacquiao. Khan should have to beat one of them to get at Floyd.
Hatton would be undefeated too … If he never fought Pacquiao, Mayweather, or the pathetic Senchenko … and just continued to fight every lame fighter out there like Collazo.Posted May 16, 2014 6:22 pm

Thurmal Underwear, you’re be a certain loser. Khan has no defense, runs his ass off, and has no clinching skills. He steer wrestles people. That’s right up AB’s alley.
^and unless you’re smaller than he is; Broner is one dimensional, has a knock-off defense that doesn’t work right, has no footwork, and no power at welterweight. Khan whoops him easily the way I see it.Posted May 16, 2014 12:27 pm
Didn’t think Khan was all that impressive
Held a lot, showed no inside game, couldn’t keep the pace for 12 rounds and really succeeded on Collazos frustration and limitations and some referee help
Nothing in that performance leads me to believe he has improved or deserves a Floyd fight..Let Khan beat a serious welterweight contender like Thurman or a former beltholder like BronerPosted May 16, 2014 9:40 am

I’d be very comfortable betting a thousand bucks on khan. I;m very surprised that TARK thinks broner would win. but hey, Opinions are never wrong, by their very nature they can’t be. Broner is very bad, low workrate, no decent power/ I see khan having a feast on him.Posted May 16, 2014 1:07 am
Broner would beat the living crap out of Khan… If they thought they could beat Broner they would have fought him… They went for Collazo — much easier.
To me that’s like Khan trying to beat Peterson.. Khan would never have a prayer and keep pushing and shoving all night… The only reason Khan beat Maidana: Joe Cortez won the fight for him by breaking them over 100 times … mostly when Maidana had a hand or 2 free to punch.

ALL comers??? Hardly… Didn’t take on Witter, Mosley, Cotto … or most guys who would have boxed his ass off. I was happy Hatton fought Mayweather and Pacquiao—but I would much rather rather have seen them fight each other.
Why do the greatest fighters fight the weak sh!ts instead of each other?
I thought Hatton’s selection of Vyach Senchenko for a comeback opponent—and getting flattened—says it all.

khan can’t fight on the inside. that’s why he pushes. he came up in that amateur era that required 3 judges to score a punch; as such there was no way of scoring with inside work because the judges couldn’t see. although some fighters – used inside fighting just to weaken their opponents most programs encourage there fighters to only fight long. khan is a classic example of this.Posted May 15, 2014 8:58 pm

What ever you think of Khan, you can not attribute his victory to his use of frustration tactics.. tactics only work if the opponent is unable to adjust. A world class boxer can make adjustments to counter tactics, Collazo had however no answer to deal with Khan. Regrettably the various contributors and article writers spend too much time critiquing Khan and not looking at the opponent, what he is or in this case IS NOT doing. Similar tactics are used by other boxers, Ward, Fury, Mayweather, Hopkins for just some names.Posted May 15, 2014 2:56 pm

Floyd could best khan but have to beat him the same way he beat canelo fight fighting inside, as he throw 2 round house punches, he has too wide shoulder is part reason his style is a boxer need room to crank up.
But after khan learn to hold khan you can kiss your Floyd fight good bye. As Floyd stand the chance of a ko outside and will get hold down inside.Posted May 15, 2014 1:51 pm

Hatton is both drunk and punch drunk, Khans a talented kid and he makes for fun fights but he has not show elite status in the ring. Benchmarking him against his Collazo performance is Monday morning Quarterbacking and ignores the rubber legs he is routinely left on..Khan has a suspect chin and when a serious finisher catches him the results can be catostrophic… He does not have Wlads size, strength and power to keep guys at bay while he avoids the big one, Khan will be hit and he will fall again..Posted May 15, 2014 12:38 pm

EZ E – fair call mate. perhaps I was a bit overzealous with shutout, i’ll amend it to 10 rounds to 2. I just couldn’t imagine either A) being fast enough to catch khan or B) being able to work his way inside to catch him. Khan would just pound on him from the outside and tie him up on the inside. if they ever fight. I’m betting a grand on khan.
Why just look at that photo on this thread. A fighter holding, just like ALi, and like the scapegoat for holding Wladimir. They all do it, they all do it. Leave Wlad alone on this topic of holding, because they all do it !! Ali was the master of holding!!Posted May 15, 2014 11:22 am

Collazo is a very good fighter, but not a great fighter. Khan has skills that could make him a great fighters but he often goes off the boil and doesn’t always apply those skills. Should he learn to fight more consistently and develop his defensive game he could become a top tier mainstay…really important he gets his defensive game A ++ because he is chinny.

Khan has huge heart, is willing to fight the top names, however as a Khan fan myself, he is a PR disaster….He constantly uses cliches like “not overlooking my next opponent” but then continues to talk about the fight with Mayweather. He did it in the Garcia and Peterson losses and was doing it all through the Collazo build up. IMO, its a recipe for disaster! He just needs to get his head down, be a bit more humble and start righting his wrongs – vis a vis, beating Peterson and then Garcia in a rematch, whcih I am extremely confident he could do – Then fight Money for his last fight with extreme confidence and credibility.Posted May 15, 2014 10:15 am

I honestly can’t believe some of the absolute nonsensical comments coming from some of our fighters and media over here. I mean kahn beat a guy that always fell just short at world level 8 years ago. Lets see how he gets on with a credible opponent. But imo he’ll be spoon fed in the hope all this bs in the media will finally get him a shot at Floyd. I don’t know what it is about kahn in certain parts of the media. Folk in the US seem t think he’s some sort of start in the UK. Witch is nonsense. People know who he is because of the Olympics. But most folk outside boxing couldn’t care less about. Even most boxing fans over here don’t rate or like him much. Lets face it. His best PPV over here was 30k. Hence the reason why he was dropped a very long time ago. Hardly start ratings.Posted May 15, 2014 9:26 am
Realistically, Khan’s win over Collazo was as OVER-played and Collazo’s ko win over Victor Ortiz was. Personally, Khan’s win over Collazo was easy to predict. Who would the fans pick to win a Khan vs Porter? Khan vs Thurman? Or even Khan vs Broner? Incidentally, why didn’t Khan accept Broner’s challenge? Who do you guys pick to win that one, all hating aside? Khan’s win Maidana was FOUR years ago. Maidana had accomplished MORE than Amir since then, for sure. Khan’s last win over a ranked fighter was vs against hot & cold Judah THREE years ago, since then he’s lost to Peterson, Garcia and looked ever so mediocre controversially defeating a worn Julio Diaz, who lasted a “whole” THREE rounds vs Porter in his next outing. Don’t get me wrong, Khan is a gifted and very talented fighter, no doubt. No, he’s not among the top 3 welters, in my opinion anyway. Top 5?? hmmm.. Maybe.. but his win over Collazo just plain doesn’t prove that he is. Just because Floyd decides to pick him doesn’t mean that he is neither. Well.. just trying to keep it real and objective. Peace to all!Posted May 15, 2014 9:07 am

Calm down people! Hatton is simply paying Khan a compliment for his performance vs Collazo and yet I’m reading a lot of hate for both Hatton and Khan. Ricky was impressed with Khan and, frankly, so was I. Khan vs Collazo was viewed as a 50/50 with many on ESB picking Collazo to win by KO. Collazo is no mug and was a big, experienced WW. A decent ask for your first fight at a new weight. Sure Khan held at times but he also moved around the ring well, threw and landed a lot of punches and scored 3 KD’s along the way. Khan took risks he shouldn’t have on purpose, particularly against Maidana when he nearly threw the fight for being too brave, and against Petersen when he continued to recklessly trade throughout. Garcia I thought fought superbly against Khan that night. The UK hatred of Khan and the vicious repeated tirades from current and former British heroes about his lack of chin hurt Amir. better call Saul
If Hatton didn’t have a head cold when he fought Collazo, he would’ve looked better and not have lost (I think he lost). Ricky always has an excuse.Posted May 14, 2014 4:12 pm
@THERMAL Y FRONTS,THINK ITS WHAT YOU SAY THAT DONT COUNT YOU CLOT,HATTONS BIN THERE WORE THE T SHIRT,YOU BUMS ARE ALL THE SAME,ALL PANTS,LOL, WITH NOUT IN THEMPosted May 14, 2014 4:04 pm
Hatton thinks………….IT DOESN’T MATTER WHAT HATTON THINKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Posted May 14, 2014 4:02 pm
a good comedy show.Posted May 14, 2014 3:33 pm
Hatton says.., “It was a very mature and disciplined performance to be honest.” It always amuses me how folks use the word “honest” when they’re trying to BS you. “I’ll be honest with you” …here comes the load.
You can’t fight the same way against Danny Garcia as you do versus Collazo. Danny’s a lot tougher and physically stronger. He’s a much more accurate and a harder counterpuncher. Garcia can knock you stiff with a shot.
You can’t fight the same way against Lamont Peterson because he’s a very tough brawler who’s in your face. Lamont tries to take your ribs out and beat the crap out of you. If you’re Amir Khan you’re going to grab and push more and get point deducted for excessive fouling if you fight Lamont.
Grabbing and shoving isn’t boxing. It’s fouling. If done excessively points are deducted. Amir had a friendly referee who let him get away with murder against the cherry-picked Collazo.Posted May 14, 2014 3:29 pm
Octavius Jomar Chatman
Hatton must have fell off the wagon again. First of all; EVERYBODY would not have the SAME WEAKNESSES as Callazo; so how can he say if Khan FOUGHT EVERYONE the same exact way; he would be undefeated. Is he trying to say Callazo is just as slick as Floyd; or as powerful as Pacman was; that’s just plain stupid…..Or did not have the smarts of Garcia…Posted May 14, 2014 3:28 pm
And……..if Ricky Hatton hadn’t been hit by Pac’s left hand he wouldn’t have been knocked out. And……if Ricky Hatton hadn’t been belted by Floyd’s check-hook he wouldn’t have been knocked out. And….if Khan hadn’t been pelted by FILL IN THE BLANK, he wouldn’t have been knocked looney.
What a senseless observation by Ricky Hatton. A better fighter than he is as an analyst.Posted May 14, 2014 3:19 pm
I am confused on what was so impressive about hitting and holding? Plus Collazo was a nobody his only win was agasint Ortiz who is a head case. Kahn doesn’t deserve a shot he wastes all his time chasing Floyd while avoiding real fighters no one is buying that. He avoided Alexander, He never avenged his loses to Garcia or Peterson and the young gums Porter or Thurman he beats any of these guy and people will take him seriously now he is a biiootch crying for a pay day like Manny…Posted May 14, 2014 3:13 pm
By the way…….look at this header photo….Khan is doing his usual pose of holding his opponent around the neck and forcing him down…..wake up ref’s and show some skill….Posted May 14, 2014 3:11 pm
Rephrase that if he fought collazo in all of his fights he would be undefeatedPosted May 14, 2014 3:05 pm
I don’t really know how you can be that impressed with Khan on this one fight.Collazo is a finished product he was not even in the no 10 ratings.Khan had to look good, but in all honesty he wasn’t that good against this opponent …..Save the applause……Posted May 14, 2014 3:04 pm
Hatton iis a drunk he bound 2 say anything out his mouth cant believe everything hes says .Posted May 14, 2014 3:03 pm
If Khan had fought that way against other fighters, he would have been harder to hit cleanly. If he had gone another few rounds with Garcia, he would have likely got a stoppage on cuts, as Garcia’s face was a mess even after a few rounds.Posted May 14, 2014 2:57 pm
priceless.Posted May 14, 2014 2:53 pm
Khan’s Cuz Achmed
Amir has the heart of a champion. He will be reigning supreme by this time next year. He has fixed his problems and it ready to dominate. The fight with Collazo was just the beginning. Hopefully Floydee can find his balls and perhaps his ink pen to sign. #KingKhan2014Posted May 14, 2014 2:51 pm
I guess Manny really did ring Ricky’s bell.Posted May 14, 2014 2:44 pm

Unfortunately, not everybody is Collazo.
Khan should fight Maidana now.Posted May 14, 2014 2:37 pm
